Chapter 11
Dreadfully, I finished up my homework. I was glad that Azura accepted my apology. However, I was still upset that the rest couldn't find it in them to forgive me for something I didn't even do.
"Amelia? Dinner is done.", Olivia said through the door.
"Coming. Thank you.", I replied, shutting my notebook and textbook.
It still felt weird living with them, but I was grateful. Besides, it wasn't a permanent thing anyways. As soon as my aunt moved here, I would move out.
In a few weeks is when she would buy a house around the area. So I guess it won't be that long until I move out.
I opened the white door to my bedroom, gently closing it behind me.
When I got to the dinner table, I ate. Laslow's parents kept talking about cool things, but I was too tired to keep up. Now that I've tried to make it up to everyone, there's really nothing else I can do. I still felt a big hole in my heart. I know I have a few friends back, but still.
That morning, me and Laslow walked to school. Laslow talked about how he moved here a couple of years ago. He also mentioned that he hailed from a place called Ylisse, which I've never heard of.
"Look who's back. Oh my you actually got someone to talk to you! After what you've said. That's a surprise", Charlotte spat.
Laslow squeezed my hand and I smiled a bit. "Charlotte, can I talk to you after school?", I asked, as politely as I could muster. I really was mad at her, so there was no reason not to shoot venomous comments at her. Except for the fact that I'm going to get expelled if any bad behaviour pops up. Might as well try to keep myself in school. Although I feel as if grades don't matter now that I have almost no-one to try to do them for.
"Sure. Feel free.", she replied, holding her head up high and strutting away.
Me and Laslow parted ways and I headed to class.
"Amelia!", Azura quietly called.
I skipped toward her direction. "Hi there!", I chirped. It still was awkward since the fight, but I really want to be friends with her.
"I've talked to Kamui and she says she'll hang out with you again. I figured out about Charlotte telling Corrin lies. The others won't believe me if I tell them though."
"R-really?", I asked, astonished.
"Yes. Don't worry, we'll be your friends. The fact that the others turned on you so fast was a bit disturbing."
"Yeah, I agree it was weird. But that's ok. I'm just glad that you know the truth."
School went a little bit better than normal. I think the thought of prom was clouding people's minds, so they forgot about the incident.
My ponytail bounced up and down, hitting my shoulders. My hair was a little past my shoulders, which was short compared to the rest of the girls at the school. Besides Sakura of course. Oh, and Scarlett. Her's is really short.
I took a deep breath and walked out behind the school to talk with Charlotte.
"What did you want to talk about, pinkie?", she asked.
I slightly flinched at the mean nickname. "What do you have against me?", I asked desperately, cutting straight to the chase.
"You took Corrin away from me!", she shouted.
I was confused. Is this what all of this was about? I thought that he was acting great around her.
"Uh, Charlotte? Corrin's all yours. You can have him."
"I see the way he acts around you.", she shot back.
"I can't help that, I'm sorry."
"That's why I want you gone!"
A tear leaked down my face. "You almost did. Several times."
She looked utterly shocked. "I almost got expelled. I almost committed suicide.", I spat, more tears falling down my pale skin.
"I-I didn't even know. I'm so sorry. I guess I was so focused on getting you out, I didn't think about your feelings.", she apologised.
I smiled through my tears. "It's alright. Just promise you won't do again, k?"
She genuinely smiled. "I promise."
After that day, I was alright. Prom rolled around a couple days after I moved in with my aunt. Maybe you have to go through hard things in order to find out who you are.
A/N: Next chapter is the last chapter! I am sorry if there are any grammar errors, I was trying to finish this fast. Thank you for supporting my story!
