Oh yeah! Just got my training schedule for Fright Fest. I'll be getting paid to scare people this year. Also I plan to finish this story before October so I may be updating like crazy soon. Now onto the chapter.

(Badger habitat)

Marlene was standing in the middle of the badger habitat with Becky and Stacy standing in front of her. Danny was off to the side, trying to catch a butterfly that had flown close to him. Marlene and the badgers laughed as Danny did so.

"Think you guys can look after him for a while?" Marlene asked the badger girls.

Becky and Stacy both nodded and Becky said, "Of course we can. Kids love playing games and we have many that we think of."

Marlene let out a sigh and said, "I'm sorry to have to bring this down on you guys. I know you wanted to go and enjoy the party."

Stacy shrugged and said, "There'll be other parties. Besides, me and Becky can keep an eye on him in shifts. That way be can watch Danny and still be able to enjoy the party."

Marlene smiled and nodded.

"Thank you guys for doing this. Danny you be good and listen to Becky and Stacy. Okay?"

Danny looked up at Marlene and said, "Okay."

Marlene nodded and turned back to the girls.

"I'm going back to the party now guys. If you guys need anything or if something happens to Danny, you come and get me or Sam or Dave. Do you hear?" Marlene stated sternly.

The girls merely nodded in response.

Marlene turned around and climbed up over the wall to go back to the party. As soon as she landed though, she landed somewhere that she didn't expect.

"Whoa! Marlene you nearly scared me," came Skippers voice.

Marlene turned her head to see Skipper's face and it didn't take long for her to notice that she was sitting Skipper's flippers.

"Whoa! Hey Skipper. Were you looking for something?" Marlene asked as she got out of Skipper's flippers.

Skipper nodded and said, "To tell you the truth, I was looking for you Marlene. I was gonna ask if you wanted to go to the party with me. If you don't want to, I'll understand."

Marlene nodded and said, "I don't see anything wrong with it. Sure I'll go with ya."

Skipper did a double take and Marlene answered him before he could ask anything.

"Julien's been so distracted the past day or two that I don't think he even remembers what happened. Besides I've seen the way he's been looking at Sam the whole time she's been here. I think we're safe," Marlene said to assure Skipper.

Skipper cheered internally. He nodded and smiled and took Marlene's arm.

"Well alright then Marlene. Come, let us go. Let's see if I can this party. But knowing Ringtail's parties, it's gonna be hard," Skipper said.

Marlene snickered and said, "Well it'll at least be fun to see you try."

Skipper just glared in response.

(Elsewhere)

Elsewhere in the zoo, Roy Perkins was walking amongst the animals of the zoo. Now that he was inside, his nerves were less frayed. The first thing he noticed at the party though, was the table of food. He walked over and at first glance of the selection there, he grimaced. There was raw fish for the penguins and otters and anyone else who ate fish. There was hay for the herbivores and oysters for anyone who ate them.

"Not a very big selection here is there?" Roy asked himself as he turned and noticed stuff that he himself could eat.

There were unopened bags of chips, bowls of trail mix, some boxes of chinese food, and a large bowl of fruit.

"Now that's more like it," Roy said and grabbed an orange from the bowl.

Roy was about to start peeling it when Kowalski slid up to him.

"That came from the lemur habitat. I would recommend you wash that off really well before you eat it," Kowalski advised.

Roy chuckled and pocketed the orange.

"Thanks for the advice. So how's the party? Have you tried any of the food?" Roy asked.

Kowalski shook his head and said, "Stop trying to beat around the bush Roy. You know what I'm here to talk about."

Roy sighed and said, "I know. I'll tell Dave about my illness tonight. But later though. Let Dave enjoy himself for a bit before I tell him."

Kowalski just sighed and facepalmed.

"Fine we'll wait until later, but for right now I won't tell him. But if you don't tell him tonight, then I'll tell him. Even the fact that you tried to hide it from him. Is that clear?" Kowalski asked.

Roy nodded and Kowalski waddled off.

Roy sat down on a bench and buried his face in the palms of his hands.

"Now how am I supposed to tell Dave and Sam?" Roy asked himself.

"Ask us what dad?" came Dave's voice.

Roy removed his hands and saw that both Dave and Sam was standing next to him on the bench.

"Oh hey kids. How are the two of you?" Roy asked.

"We're fine daddy," Sam said and walked to her father to hug him which he gladly returned.

Dave laughed and said, "Dad we're not kids anymore. In fact Sam has her own kid."

Roy chuckled lightly and said, "I Know. Where is the little guy anyway?"

"According to Marlene, he's over at the badger habitat right now. The music was hurting his ears, so Marlene took him over to stay during the party," Sam explained.

Roy nodded and said, "I'm gonna go over and see him. You guys told him about me right? I don't think he's ever met me."

Sam laughed some more and said, "Oh yes I have. A hundred times."

Roy nodded and got up to walk over to the badgers place.

"I'll talk to you two later. I'll be around," Roy said as he walked away.

(Badger habitat)

"Hey get back here you two," Becky said while laughing.

Both Danny and Stacy were running from Becky who was trying to catch either one of the two.

"You're not going to get away from me," Becky shouted to the both of them.

Danny turned back and blew a raspberry at her and turned to run again, but instead he tripped over his own two feet and was quickly caught by Becky.

"Got ya," Becky laughed.

"Darn it," Danny stated as Becky released him.

They then heard some laughing from above them and looked up to see Roy Perkins standing above them.

"Playful ones aren't ya?" Roy laughed.

Danny looked up at Roy and asked, "Who are you?"

Roy fauxed being shocked and said, "Who me? Don't you know me? It couldn't be."

Becky rolled her eyes and said, "Hey Roy, what's going on?"

Roy laughed and said, "No standing for ceremony huh? Not much, just here to see Dave and Sam."

"You know my mom and uncle?" Danny asked.

Roy nodded and said, "Did they ever tell you about how they used to be?"

"Human? Yes my Uncle Dave told me," Danny said.

Roy laughed and said, "Well Sam and Dave were my kids. Now they're grown up. Getting the picture little buddy?"

Danny started putting two and two together. He then smiled wide and then stood up on his back legs.

"Grandpa," Danny called out.

Roy smiled and bent down as low as he could go and Danny leapt up into Roy's hand. Roy held Danny for a little bit and examined him closely.

"Well I can certainly see you got your mother's eyes and her personality. That's a really good thing my boy," Roy laughed.

"Yeah. They told me about my dad," Danny said taking extra care not to mention that he actually met his father.

Roy nodded some more and sat down on a bench with Danny still sitting in his lap. Roy carefully patted Danny on the top of his head and laughed some more.

"It figures. I get me a grandkid and he's an otter. When did my life become a cartoon?" Roy laughed and then coughed a little bit.

Danny giggled and said, "Think that's weird? I have a human for a grandfather."

"Tooche," Roy laughed as he and Danny continued a conversation.

(Outside the zoo)

"So how do you plan to approach this?" Mark asked as Blake observed the zoo from the car.

The two men were parked on a street about 100 yards from the zoo and were mainly out of sight from the animals in the zoo.

Blake merely shrugged and said, "Just go in and shoot the animals on my list. They're just animals so what's the harm?"

Mark sighed and said, "Don't underestimate them. They are smarter than they look."

Blake nodded and said, "I'll take that under advisement. You keep driving around the park. As soon as I call you, come and get me you hear?"

Mark nodded and Blake stepped out of the car. Mark drove off and away from the zoo. Blake take a deep breath and began walking towards the zoo.

Well Blake has arrived and the party is active. So what will become of everyone?
