Chapter 11

Crimson finished carving her flute and after blowing off the shavings she held it to her lips and blew in it lightly, testing it out. After amusing herself with playing various songs on the flute Crimson began to grow bored.

Finally the sun started to rise and Rin and Shippo were the first to wake up. Crimson jumped down from the tree she had been sitting in and waited for the two kids to come out of the hut they had been staying in with the old priestess of the village named Kaeda.

As Sango and Miroku and the rest of the village woke up slowly, Crimson caught, gutted and skinned two rabbits, one for each of the kids to cook over one the small fire that Shippo had created with his fox fire.

After the kids were fed they started to play again so Crimson sat at the base of a tree close enough to keep an eye on the kids but far enough away not to have to deal with the stench of the humans who lived in the village. Crimson could usually handle the scent of humans and the smell of decay and death that stuck to them however for some reason her stomach didn't seem to be feeling well these days.

After a few hours Crimson smelt Inu-yasha and Kagome coming from the Bone Eaters Well, which Crimson knew connected to Kagome's time in the future. Something smelt differant about the two of them and Crimson pondered over what it was in the few short minutes it took for Kagome and Inu-yasha to reach the tree where she was sitting.

Inu-yasha jumped into the tree branches above Crimson while Kagome sat down beside her, Kagome spoke first her voice soft and her face light pink, "Crimson, Inu-yasha and I have decided to mate after we finish off Naraku for good." Kagome said. "I'm happy for the two of you." Crimson said smilling, happiness radiating off of her body as she hugged Kagome and Inu-yasha who had jumped down, both were blushing and exchanging happy looks of love.

Inu-yasha looked up at the same time that Crimson did, Inu-yasha gave a huff while Crimson smilled and stood up. Kagome could only figure one reason for the individual reactions Crimson and Inu-yasha had given, Shesshomaru. Sure enough Shesshomaru walked out of the forest, "Crimson." Was all he said but Crimson seemed to read something that Kagome couldn't see, because Crimson immediatly stood up and walked towards Shesshomaru.

Shesshomaru turned and walked back into the forest and Crimson walked along beside him. After a few minutes of silence Crimson turned to gaze over at Shesshomaru and was surprised when Shesshomaru shoved a small silk wrapped gift into her hands. "Shesshomaru?" Crimson said, her confusion clear in her voice. Shesshomaru didn't say anything however he motioned for her to open the small gift.

Crimson carefully but quickly unwrapped the gift and her eyes widdened when she saw what the silk had been hidding. Her eyes immediatly flew to Shesshomaru's eyes, unable to speak Crimson threw her arms around Shesshomaru and proceeded to kiss him senseless.

Needless to say it was several hours later when Crimson and Shesshomaru met back up with the rest of the gang. Rin immediatly ran over to Crimson and Shesshomaru, Crimson squatted and picked Rin up in one smooth motion. After placing Rin on her right hip Crimson continued walking beside Shesshomaru who surprised Crimson and everyone else when he reached out and thredded his right hand with her left hand.

That surprise movement of Shesshomaru drew everyone's attention to Crimson's left ring finger where a small glittering onject winked. "Oh my gosh!" Kagome squealed clapping her hands together and gaining several pained looks at her enthusiasm however Kagome ingnored them as she ran to Crimson.

After Kagome got over her admiration of the small gold ring that held a blood red ruby in the center with four small sapphires, one set at each of the corners on the ring that sat on Crimson's ring finger on her left hand. Of course Kagome and Crimson then had to explain the significance of the ring on the ring finger since is origins being Western and how the Western's had a myth about a vein in the left ring finger and how that vein was suppose to go straight to the heart.

"So basically you agreed to 'marry' Shesshomaru, although you two are already mated and wearing the ring on your left hand shows that you are taken to other humans but not yet fully commited to Shesshomaru." Sango said trying to make sense of the information that Crimson and Kagome had just given.

"Yes and no." Crimson replied. "I fully belong to Shesshomaru and he to me so we have no real reason as demons that have already marked and mated each other, to wear rings. However Shesshomaru knows that I have spent most of my life with humans rather then other demons and as such I have picked up on their customs which includes marriage." Crimson explained and after making sure Sango and the others understood what she had just said she continued her explanation.

"So Shesshomaru had this ring crafted for me and told me that if I wanted to get 'married' he would be willing to 'marry' me. I wear it on my left ring finger because of two reasons, the myth of the vein in the left ring finger that reaches the heart but the other reason is that I use my right hand to fight and that increase the chance of something happening to my ring."

The group continued to travel looking for Naraku and for the next two weeks everything seemed to be normal, well as normal as their lives were ever since Crimson had joined their group. Then one night (the night of Inu-yasha's weekness) after everyone else was asleep around the fire except for Rin who was snuggeled into Crimson, Crimson spoke.

"Shesshomaru I'm pupped." Crimson said in the same way one would say, 'I think that flowers pretty.' However belying her tone Crimson's gaze was carefully watching Shesshomaru's reaction to her words. "Your...pupped." Shesshomaru repeated slowly as though trying to process what she had just said.

"Your going to be a dad Shesshomaru." Crimson said, trying to stiffle a smirk as she watched Shesshomaru's normally emotionless face (while in front of others anyway) falter as his eyes widdened and narrowed while he mouthed the words several times in a row.

If Inu-yasha or any of the others had been awake they would without a doubt have fallen over in shock and or terror. Shesshomaru was smilling, not smirking or the smile of death but a true smile of pure happiness. "I'm going to be a father." Shesshomaru whispered and then turned to Crimson speaking in a louder voice. "I'm going to be a father."

Crimson smiled and they shared a sweet kiss full of love and happiness before they parted and just cuddled until the sun's first ray's peeked through the pine trees. As the first golden peach ray's touched Inu-yasha's human black head streaks of white started to appear until his head was once again completly white like his half-brother Shesshomaru.

As time progressed and the days turned into weeks Crimson began to show and Shesshomaru grew more protective of her, Inu-yasha grew almost just as protective as Shesshomaru over Crimson. Even though she wasn't Inu-yasha's mate his demon blood told him to protect the alpha male's mate at all cost.

Since he and Kagome were not yet mates all his demon instincts screamed at him to guard his alpha's mate. Not that Inu-yasha fully understood that fact until Crimson explained it to him when they were waiting for Kagome to come back from the 20th Century and Shesshomaru was doing a circle around in a ten mile radius to make sure there was nothing that could harm his mate.

Crimson made sure to tell Kagome, Sango, and Miroku about how things worked in an Inu-yuki pack which is what they were now concidered, the children weren't really affected by the new status of the group, Jaken was looked at like an annoying diva like uncle but still pack.

Crimson could see how much Inu-yasha craved having further knowledge of his Inu-yuki demon and told him everything she knew about their shared heritage. Inu-yasha began to grow more confident in himself and wasn't as rude and aggressive however he still had his moments where Kagome ended up sitting him.

After three months Crimson was ready to give birth and like her Inu-yuki nature demanded of her she found a safe place away from everyone else except her mate and there in a nice dark cave and she gave birth to three pups, two males and one female. Taisho was the firstborn's name in honor of Shesshomaru's father, Aiko, the female, was second born and the third and last one of the litter was Eiji.

They stayed in the cave with Shesshomaru bringing prey for Crimson to eat and both leaving when the call of nature arose however other then that Crimson and Shesshomaru stayed in the cave with their pups. After two weeks Crimson and Shesshomaru took their pups to meet the rest of their pack.

They whole pack traveled for four months together and they all knew that they were close to the final battle with Naraku so with some trepidation they decided to leave Shippo, Rin,Taisho, Aiko, Eiji, Jaken and Ah-un in the village with Kaeda who was extended family to them.

However Crimson and Sesshomaru made sure to leave protection bracelets from their hair and fangs with some demon majic, lightly brushed with some miko magic curtosy of Kagome and Miroku, on each of the pups. (Of which Shesshomaru and Crimson thought of as Rin and Shippo as older pups) As well as Jaken, Ah-Un and Kaeda who they thought of as an elder memeber of their pack. Not two day's later the pack found themselves in the final battle with Naraku.

Everyone sustained multiple injuries and the humans members of the pack started slowing down and it was mainly down the three with demon blood. Naraku's took the last jewel shard and after putting it together his powers increased to were he created a large spider, hiding himself inside along with several of his most deadliest incarnations.

The pack was seperated but they managed to stay in two's and take out the incarnations. Through all of this Crimson managed to stay with Shesshomaru and Naraku seemed to realize there was something between them and that they were the 'leaders' of the small group. And with this realization Naraku started concentrating all of his powers on killing the two Inu-yuki's.

Finally everyone fought their way to the center of Naraku and found his body surrounded by a barrier which they shattered with a mix of special attacks and Kagome's sacred arrow. Naraku's large form was falling out of the sky, Shesshomaru's attack rendering the body useless. All of the pack went to the ground to finish the fight and then something horrible happened.

"NO!" Shesshomaru roared, Kagome and Sango screamed while Miroku, Inu-yasha and Kikyo stared in stunned silence as they watched Naraku's tentacle pierce Crimson's stomach. Even Naraku seemed surprised at the fact that he had managed to hit Crimson before he smugly began to laugh.

Everyone turned their attention to him, their anger burning hotter then the sun when all the sudden a blue and gold glow took all of their attentions back to the spot where Crimson's body had fallen. The blue and gold light came down in a piller form from the sky covering Crimson's body and causing it to float up into the air.

Her hair moving in a non-existant breeze as her body was lifted higher into the two glowing lights. Everyone was holding their breath wondering what was happening. Crimson's body started to glow a light purple that enveloped her entire body before seeming to consume her flesh leaving her a violet liquid form of her body.

"What is this some kind of trap?" Naraku said, trying to be brave. His voice seemed to be the trigger as the violet liquid form of Crimson opened it's eyes which were now pure white. Her mouth opened then and the sound of thousands of voices speaking all at once said,

"Naraku last born son of Rama and Luna the only surviving male off-spring who rose with both the sun and the moon and the half-blood sibling of Crimson the last true member of the Royal Family of Athenatera. You have upset the balance of this world, we sent Crimson to this time and place to give you a chance to be purified to redeem yourself and set right your past.

You have refused and attempted to kill her mate, knowing that she would selflessly give her life for his. In this you have made your biggest mistake and the worlds biggest miracle. For Crimson was the last daughter of Rama and Luna the only surviving female Inu-yuki who rose with both the sun and the moon and the last living member of the Royal Family of Athena the world before this one.

By killing her you have allowed her to access the ultimate power of the people of Athenatera. The power of rebirth, of life and of destruction, the power that is to great for any race other then the first too house in their body and have at their call. We are the voice's that have cried out as you shed our blood, for you have existed ever since the dawn of time going by many names."

Everyone remained silent except Shesshomaru who took several steps towards his mate who's eyes then turned to him. "Do not fear Shesshomaru, mate of Crimson she will be returned to you, your pups, and pack whole and alive."

Then Crimson turned her gaze back to Naraku who was edging away from her in fear, " The world before this one you have been found guilty of using your powers and the powers of your people that you slaughtered in their sleep to shape yourself into a soul and take over the bodies of mortal and immortal men and woman. Your sentance is cleansing from not only this world but from all the off worlds where you have spreed yourself in various forms."

With those words Crimson's body began to pulse gold, white and violet and then a large single ray of the three colored light shot out from Crimson and into Naraku who was frozen in place. The light surrounded Naraku and he shreiked so loud and for so long that his screams echoed across the land and all those that he hurt heard that sound and felt a sadistic joy at his pain. The light grew brighter and brighter until everyone had to close their eyes and turn their backs on the light or risk being blinded for life.

And then it was over, Naraku was gone and the completed Shikon no Tama fell to the Earth, its purple black color lightening to a dark grey as the evil from Naraku dissapated into nothing. Kagome immediatly grabbed the Shikon no Tama, her touch purifying it instantly. Then everyone's focus went back to the swirling colors of light still pulsing from Crimson. "Mate." Shesshomaru called, trying to get Crimson to come back to herself.

It worked. The lights that pulsed around Crimson slowly faded away and the purple liquid form that she had become faded back into her flesh and blood form, as her body was laid back down on the ground. Shesshomaru and Inu-yasha were immediatly by her side, for the first time they put away their usual words and looks and exchanged a look of pure worry for the female laying on the ground in front of them.

And then Crimson coughed and shot up into a sitting position trying to assess her surroundings for danger as she coughed out the blood that was in her lungs. Everyone breathed her name in relief, "Crimson." Crimson found herself wrapped up in her mate's arms, she relaxed in his arms and heard everyone gasp. Immediately Crimson pulled back wondering if maybe not all of their enemies were dead however it was then that Crimson noticed a change that had come over the landscape. Before everything had been dead because of Naraku's miasma now it was like life and been breathed back into the lands. Flowers, grass and trees were everywhere and in their full life as though they had never died.

Afterwards Kagome made the one wish on the jewel and caused it to dissapear from existance everywhere for forever, however because of the jewels dissaperance Kagome was forced back to her world and the Bone Eaters Well was sealed up.

Three years later the well unsealed and Kagome went back to the Feudal Era where she learned of everything that had changed and the choice that she needed to make. Sango, Miroku were immortal as would be all of their children (they had three so far twin girls and a five month old son) who when they turned eighteen would become immortals themselves.

Taisho, Aiko and Eiji were now three years old and were happy and healthy little pups. Rin was ten years old and stayed in the same hut as Kadea in the village for seven months out of the year so she could learn to live around humans and about herbs and how to use her budding miko powers. Shippo was being taught how to use his powers and he was quickly rising through the ranks.

Jaken stayed with Crimson and Shesshomaru 'helping' take care of the pups but mostly providing Crimson with free entertainment. Inu-yasha lived in the forest surrounding Keada's village, Kaeda herself had refused immortality but she did accept forty more years onto her life.

Kagome accepted Inu-yasha and they mated, making her a hanyo like Inu-yasha only she kept her miko powers as well. And life continued on for the Inu-pack, with Rin accepting immortality when she turned eighteen and falling in love and mating a hanyo wolf demon who fell in love with her.

And 507 years later Kagome met up with her mother, grandpa and younger brother with all of her pack and offspring.
