A/N: Sorry for not posting in years! I became uninspired to keep writing. Now, I'm more inspired to keep writing and allowing others to keep reading.
One year later a lot has changed.
Chad & Taylor are now married and so are Sharpay & Zeke. Chad became a famous basketball player and so did Troy. He and Gabi lost touch and Troy hasn't seen her in over a year. Kelsi & Ryan were in Julliard and stayed there after graduating. Chad & Zeke are usually super busy so they don't get the chance to interact with Gabi and Liam as much.
*One Year Later*
Gabi's POV
"Gabi, Gabi, Gabi!" Sharpay yelled, shaking her friend awake.
"Huh?! Did something happen?!" Gabi said jumping off her bed.
"Liam is awake" Sharpay said.
Gabriella got off her bed and walked into Liam's nursery. Liam was sitting up in his crib with his pacifier in his mouth extending his arms out for his mother to pick him up.
"Hi buddy!" Gabi cooed at him
Liam stood up gripping the crib and smiled a huge smile at Gabriella. Gabi took Liam out of his crib and changed his diaper. Then she brought him downstairs to eat. When Gabriella went downstairs, Sharpay was already at the table eating.
"Wow, he's gotten so big" Sharpay said
"I know, I can't believe my baby is a year old already and is this big. I remember the day he was born and how small he was compared to what he looks like now." Gabi said
"Yeah, you were a trooper that day." Sharpay said
"Thanks, it was great having you and Taylor there for support." Gabi said
All of a sudden the memory of Liam being born came to both their minds
Flashback
"Shar, Tay, my water just broke" Gabi said calmly into the phone.
"Oh My God, we will be over right away", said Sharpay and Taylor
When Sharpay and Taylor arrived, they unlocked Gabriella's door and ran into the apartment. They ran into Gabi's room to see her carefully running around putting together her hospital bag.
"Gabi, do you need help?" Taylor said
"Oh My God! You guys scared me! When did you get here?" Gabi screamed
"Sorry. We just now arrived" Sharpay said.
"And yeah, can you guys help me zip up the bags? I just finished packing this little boy's bag. I need to get to the hospital right away." Gabi said
"Okay, Sharpay, zip up the bag, I'm going to help Gabby down the stairs." Taylor said
"Alright."Sharpay said
In the car, Gabriella had told Taylor and Sharpay that she called her doctor who told her she would meet her in the hospital. She also mentioned how she had minor pains last night and couldn't really sleep.
"Aw, why didn't you call us?" Taylor asked
"I didn't want to bother you two. You both are too busy to be coming over to take care of me.
"Gabi, it's our job to help you. You are our best friend. No matter if we are busy or not, we are there for you." Sharpay said
"Thanks. I guess ever since my failed marriage with Josh, I've been super lonely and thinking no one will ever want me again." Gabi said
Sharpay and Taylor were silent. They couldn't believe her past relationship had affected her this much. They knew Troy would make it better and would do anything to get them together again.
*At the hospital*
"Hi, Ms. Montez" Dr. Lucy said
"Hi, Dr. Lucy" Gabi said
"We are going to get you into a room right away" Dr. Lucy said
"Okay, thank you. Will Sharpay and Taylor be able to be in the room with me?" Gabi asked
"Yeah sure." Dr. Lucy said
-12 hours later-
"Gabi, here he is, all cleaned up. You did great. He's super healthy!" Dr. Lucy said handing over the newly born baby.
Gabi had tears in her eyes while holding him.
"He's adorable, Gabby" Taylor and Sharpay exclaimed
"Yeah, he sure is" Gabby said
"We got pictures of the nurses cleaning him up" Taylor said
"Thanks. You guys are the best." Gabby said
*Knock Knock*
"Hi Gabby, we wanted to know if you have a second to fill out the birth certificate" the nurse said
"Sure. Taylor, Sharpay, Can one of you hold him?" Gabi said
"Taylor, you hold him. I'm scared" Sharpay said
While Taylor was holding the baby, Gabby filled out the birth certificate with the nurse.
"Okay, what's his name?" The nurse asked
"Liam Andrew Tyler Montez" Gabby said
"Okay, do you want to list his father?" the nurse asked
"No, you can leave that blank." Gabby said
"Okay, that will be all. We will be back to have you sign discharge papers so you can go home tomorrow."
"Aw, that's such a cute name" Taylor said after the nurse left. "Did you get a glimpse of how much he weighed? She asked
"Yeah, he was around 8 pounds and 14 inches. He's still so small though." Gabby said
"Damn, girl. What were you feeding him?" Sharpay said
"Maybe I shouldn't have stayed with you and Zeke" Gabby said smirking
End Flashback
*Back at the dinner table*
"So, are you and Zeke planning to do anything later?" Gabby asked while feeding Liam a mix of solid food and baby food
"Not really. We are mostly going to the restaurant to see how everything is going. Ever since the restaurant became huge, he hasn't been able to manage the one here and he really misses it." Sharpay said.
"I would so love to go. I miss the restaurant and seeing Zeke." Gabby said
"So come then. A lot of people are going to be there since they know Zeke is going." Sharpay said
Gabi sighed. "Okay, I'll come. When are you leaving? Can I get a ride with you?" Gabby asked
"I'm leaving in about an hour." Sharpay said
"Can you feed Liam the rest of his food while I go get ready and get my stuff together?" Gabby asked
"Sure! Don't forget to pick something out for this cute little boy here" Sharpay said
"Don't worry, I won't" Gabby said.
*An hour later, Sharpay and Gabby were in Sharpay's car. Gabby glammed up a bit by applying makeup, putting her hair up in a messy bun, and wore some nice jeans and a cute top. She dressed Liam up in an adorable onesie with a cute little bear on the front along with little shoes*
*At the restaurant*
"Sharpay, can you hold Liam while I get the stroller out of the trunk?" Gabby asked
"Yeah, sure. Let me just grab my purse first" Sharpay said
Gabby took the stroller out and put Liam in. She then grabbed her purse and diaper bag and placed them on the stroller and walked with Sharpay into the restaurant.
"Sharpay! Is that Troy?!" Gabi screamed while trying to look away
"Uh, yeah. Duh" Sharpay said in a snarky tone
"Why didn't you tell me he was going to be here? He's one of the most famous basketball players in the world! Shouldn't he be away playing?" Gabi asked panicking
"I didn't tell you because I knew that if you knew you would not have come. Um, you do realize that it's currently not basketball season, right?" Sharpay said and asked
"Uggghhhhhh. I told you I wanted to talk to him again on my own terms. You said he lived in the same apartment complex as us so I was finding the time to go talk to him" Gabi said
"Uh, huh, yeah sure" Sharpay said sarcastically
"No, seriously, I was" Gabi said defensively
"Sure, I don't believe you." Sharpay said back
Gabi pushed the stroller over to the table where Sharpay, Taylor, Chad, Kelsi, Ryan, and the rest of the group of friends were sitting. Zeke was in the back talking to the managers while all the employees were star struck that Troy was in the same restaurant they were in. Troy didn't manage to see Gabriella yet. He didn't know she was divorced or even had a baby yet, so seeing her would be a huge surprise.
"Hey, guys, sorry about that. I meant to come join you all but I got caught up with the fans." Troy said. All of a sudden his eyes fell on the brown haired woman he once dated in high school rocking a stroller back and forth.
"G-G-Gabby?" He stuttered
