After leaving Stephanie's hotel room and going back to his own Paul immediately changed into his workout clothes and headed down to the gym, he was aching and kind of stressed and wanted to work it all out of his body before he went to the arena.
A few hours later and Paul was walking into the arena with his bag slung over his shoulder, the second he walked through the door he felt eyes on him. Ignoring the looks he went straight to the McMahon-Helmsley locker room and dumped his bag. Looking around he noticed Stephnaie's stuff wasn't there yet so he just took a seat on the couch to relax for ten minutes before the production meeting.
Having wasted as much time as she could at the hotel Stephanie eventually made her way to the arena and glared at anybody who dared to look at her, she just wasn't in the mood for anybody today.
Reaching the locker room she swung the door open allowing it to bounce off of the wall before she threw her suitcase onto the floor in the corner and tuned around to put her laptop on the couch when she saw Paul sat there and nearly jumped out of her skin, "holy shit. What are you doing here?"
Sat there silently Paul just watched Stephanie clearly in a bad mood as she arrived and he did think about moving but he was worried she would just swing around and hit him in the head with her suitcase so he sat still until her anger was directed at him. Gulping he moved to the edge of the couch, "waiting for the production meeting and/or you, whatever came first. I can leave if you'd rather have the locker room to yourself?"
Standing up he reached for his bag but stopped when she grabbed his arm.
Sighing softly when he went to leave she grabbed his arm to stop him, "I never said that, I just had no idea you were here and you scared me half to death sat there on the couch."
Turning to face her he visually made sure the door was shut before he slipped his arms around her waist and pulled her in for a hug, "I'm sorry, I was just worried you'd knock me out with your suitcase so I thought it best to just stay still."
Lifting her head she frowned, "you thought I would knock you out with my suitcase, why?"
"Well mainly because you seemed to be in a foul mood and I thought if I caught you by surprise when you had something heavy in your hand my head may be the receiver of said heavy object. Why were you so annoyed?"
Shrugging her shoulders she moved her hands to play with the lapels of his jacket, "stupid people and their stupid looks. I don't have the inclination to deal with people staring at me and talking about me, I just want to punch them all."
Pressing a soft kiss to the top of her head he sighed softly, "I got the same looks when I came in also, it appears that everybody has heard about us breaking up so we just have to get on with it and deal with their ugly faces and ignorant attitudes."
Stephanie laughed softly, "you think they're ugly?"
"Well yes, they're not you so they are all ugly."
Blushing she pulled away from him and ducked her head looking at the floor, "you're too sweet. So do we dare walk to the meeting together or should we walk separately?"
Shrugging his shoulders he straightened his jacket, "I don't see why we can't walk together, we have to work together so they can't expect us to avoid each other forever."
Smiling softly she unzipped her laptop bag and pulled out her papers, "then lead the way kind Sir."
Walking to the door Paul went to open it but stopped with his hand on the handle and turned around to face Stephanie, "there's one thing I've got to do first."
Rolling her eyes she leant against the wall, "oh for fucks sake. Just hurry up in the bathroom so we're not late."
Chuckling softly he walked over to her and pressed a soft kiss to her lips. When he pulled back he felt quite pleased seeing her looking surprised, "okay I'm ready to leave now."
She could only stand there dumbfounded, that was the last thing she had expected but it was really really nice. Watching as he opened the door and walked out she quickly pushed herself off the wall and followed him so she wasn't late.
Quickly catching up to Paul she fell into step beside him, "why did you do that?"
Shrugging his shoulders he tried to remain vague incase anyone was around to hear, "because I could and because I wanted to, why not? I won't do it again if it bothered you."
"I never said that, it just took me by surprise."
Seeing who was stood in front of them he groaned lowly, "talking of surprises."
Stephanie had had her head down looking at the papers in her hand and keeping an eye on the floor incase anybody got in her way so she failed to see the person just down the corridor from them until they spoke, "hello you two."
Her head snapped up and she glared at the person in front of her, this was not what she wanted to deal with right now, "I'm not late and we're not together so don't lose your shit."
Paul gently elbowed Stephanie to try and get her to be nicer to her Dad but she just glared at him, "I'm going to go and take a seat and you two can talk or something."
Glaring at her secret boyfriend she shook her head, "unless it is about the show I have nothing to talk to him about."
Vince frowned at his daughter, "Stephanie please, let's talk about this after."
Shaking her head she went to walk past him, "sorry I don't have time. I have these meetings, I have to make the changes to the script, I have to practise my lines and rehearse my scenes and I have to change and have my make-up done for the show."
With his wife's voice playing in the back of his mind Vince nodded his head and stepped to the side, "well maybe later this week you will have time."
Stephanie didn't say a word, she just walked past her Father and took a seat next to Paul at the table and pushed a piece of paper with rough notes on in front of him, "so these were what I was thinking about for our storyline tonight."
Paul wasn't even going to attempt to reason with Stephanie right now, he got that she was hurt and angry with her Father so he was just going to go along with her wanting to talk about work and just ignore the glares from other people.
Vince walked back into the conference room and took a seat organising his papers. He had no idea that one simple decision to him would completely destroy his relationship with his daughter, he could only hope that time would heal the wounds and she would forgive him.
