a/n: I'm back, my dudes! I had a lovely several hours of sleep, after not being able to fall asleep until 30 minutes after I published the previous chapter. But I'm awake and functioning (sorta... I woke up legit 2 minutes ago) and ready to finish this fanfic!

{December 21st, 2018}

"I can't believe you've been working on these for months... behind my back," Jay muttered as he signed a paper.

"What, you think I would just tell you? You never left my side. You were the happiest man alive and you made us inseperable. I really was in love with you, Jay. Honest. But with all that has been going on on top of our arguing, I was so through," Nya sighed deeply in fatigue, "I'm sorry,"

Jay studied the face of his former lover. Her expression bore no signs of sympathy or regret. She was expressionless, other than the weariness dotted along her tanned face. He could hardly believe what was happening. When Nya called him and asked to meet at a coffee shop, he and his clueless mind thought there was a chance to regain ammends with his wife, even if they were very small. The last thing he expected was Nya showing up with all the files they'd need for a divorce. The only part that was incomplete was wherever she needed Jay's signature.

Jay had finished and slid the papers back to Nya, "So it's done then..?"

"I guess so," Nya stood up, "I'll take these to my lawyer,"

"Nya? Just so you know, I still love you," Jay offered a small smile. Nya regarded him briefly before turning and traipsing out the door.

Jay let out a deep breath, holding in his tears as he watched the love of his life leave. He knew he would see her again; they had training every now and then. He just could barely believe that she would leave him on the spot like that- especially during Christmastime.

"This is ok... right, Jay?" he muttered to himself as he gathered his things and left the small coffee shop.

He slowly trudged through the snow and looked around him. He never knew of this small town. He was just outside of Ninjago City, 5 minutes from where Nya and Victoria were living. The town consisted of a coffee shop, a small French resturant, a bookstore, and a few other shops. The brick-paved street was covered in snow and the sidewalk was lined with bare trees, each and every one covered with bright white lights. The town itself was really white. Some of the buildings were lined with garland or had wreaths hung in the windows. The whole elegance and beauty of it almost seemed to make Jay's sadness disappear. He stuffed his numb hands into the pockets of his coat as he looked at the breathtaking scenery. He slowly walked to where he ha left his bike and retrieved it. He began to cycle back to Samantha's house.

When he had arrived, he went straight into his room and looked at a gift he had recieved from Cole the previous night. It was a photo album filled with pictures of the team before everyone got married and started their own families. Cole had explained that they chose pictures specifically of great things they had done together without Nya. The whole point was to help Jay realize that he is much better off without Nya, because she had been holding him back from so many things. It really did help Jay realize that he is allowed to be upset, but he shouldn't linger on it because he is so much better now than he was with Nya.

Josh and Trish didn't seem all too upset about it. They were more focused on Christmas than they were on their family. They still mentioned Nya every now and then, but the seemed to mostly just forget that there was any family trauma at all.

Jay smiled softly as he set the album on his bed, "This is alright..."

Jay walked out into the dining room, where Trisa was frosting sugar cookies. Samantha was with out at the park with Josh.

"Daddy, join me," Trish said, noticing Jay.

"Okie dokie, pumpkin," Jay sat next to her and grabbed a frosting bag, "so what are we doing?"

"You have to make them all red, white, green, or yellow. Cause those are the colours of Christmas," Trisa explained, grabbing a handfull of sprinkles and tossing them onto her cookies.

"Alrightie," Jay began to frost one of the cookies.

"Hey, daddy?"

"Mhm?"

"What's Hanukkah?"

Jay froze, "Uh.. well... it's a Jewish holiday-"

"Well I know that," Trisa glanced at the floor, "but what does it celebrate? Christmas is about Santa and Jesus and gifts and family. But is there a Hanukkah Santa?"

"I'm not entirely sure, to be honest, Trishkabob. Cole or Claire would be better to ask that to," Jay offered a faint smile, "sorry I don't know much,"

"Can Mr. Cole come over?" Trisa asked with a glimmer of hope in her eyes.

"I can call hi-"

"HI FAM!" Cole burst through the back door.

"HOLY LASAGNA- hiii Cole..." Jay waved awkwardly.

"Hello. I came by to drop off Samantha's jacket cause she left it at Zane and Pixal's place... but I heard the munchkin and decided to break in," Cole explained.

"Oh... how thoughtful?" Jay snickered.

"Mr. Cole, what's Hanukkah?" Trisa asked Cole as he took a seat at the table.

"Hmm... well, it'd take a little while to explain it," Cole's gaze drifted dreamily through the room as he was in thought.

"That's okie," Trisa eagerly followed Cole's gaze, hoping he'd give her the knowledge she seeked.

Cole smiled softly, "Alrightie then. Here it goes,"
