My Knight & Guardian Chapter 11

AN 9/18/15: Thanks for the new follows everyone! R&R please!

==5 Hours Later – Sand People Enclave=

Myra listened to the thanks given by the Jawas to the group, she smiled in reply, "..You're quite welcome. We'll be glad to escort you back to the Czerka Outpost if you wait but a moment while we attend to the other prisoner near here." She said.

Turning Myra was just in time to see Mission finish untying her brother Griff and undoing the white hood that was around his head. She also overheard his hasty babbling about how he was a big time Czerka big wig captured by the Sand People, that comment got her to roll her eyes some as she came over. "..Oh thanks so much, you got no idea the rewards coming to you all when we get out of here…..we are getting out of here right?" Griff asked slowly standing up off the sand he had been plopped on for who knew how many days.

Mission huffed a moment saying nothing, evidently in her dark grey styled Jedi robes her cousin had given her and with the more seasoned look she'd gained since he likely had last seen her Griff didn't even recognize his own sister. "..Yeah we are getting out of here, don't worry, Griff." Myra said. "..Though I think you owe your thanks to your sister here most of all, she's the one who pushed hard to find you so quickly when we heard of where you were." She added.

"..Sister?...Mission? Is that you?" Griff said half squinting in the light of the dual suns overheard.

Crossing her arms about her chest, while Juhani, Bastilla and HK-47 stood off behind the pair, Mission just frowned as the man still obviously didn't believe his only sister was here, or alive for that matter considering the state of Taris in the news. "..When I heard Taris was destroyed I just assumed you were dead! Joy of joys my little sister is alive!" He said though Myra got the sense of some forced falsehood in his tone of joy of voice.

Mission looked down shaking her head a bit, evidently also picking up on the sense of forced joy in his voice. "..I...I have to ask you something Griff. It's really important, I ran into Lena, she said….she said it was your idea to leave me on Taris. It's not true is it?" She asked looking up with an intense searching gaze to her brother.

Rubbing the back of his head Griff finally replied. "..Ah, well there's the truth and then there's the 'truth', you know? I always meant to go back to Taris, sis. Just as soon as I had credits to pay off my debts, but credits well you know they've been hard to come by." he said.

Looking sad and hurt Mission said in disbelief, "..You mean it's true? It was your idea to leave me there?! I'm your sister! How could you abandon me like that!?" She asked with a slight growing tone of anger, off to the side Myra stood supportive to the younger woman ready though quietly to step in if things got too heated. Despite her earlier suggestion to Mission she slap her brother she wasn't quite sure if it was truly deserved yet.

Perhaps sensing he had overstepped some bounds Griff tried to reach out to touch Mission's shoulder and make amends but Mission stepped away smoothly, "..Come on sis! You didn't need me to look after you anymore. You may have been young but you knew how to take care of yourself, you know that. Besides! You're here now everything worked out just fine." He said with a slight dismissive gesture. It was with those lines spoken that Mission stepped up before Myra or any of the others could stop her and slapped her brother with a slight force charge of emotional energy, budding tears in her eyes.

Falling to Mission's feet from the impact Griff looked up at his sister in shock, awe, and surprise4 as she continued. "..You bastard! That's all you have to say to me after all these years after deserting me on Taris?! If not for Myra here I WOULD be dead because of you. I oughta leave you here to these Sand People!" She shouted. Myra sensing the warning and looks of concern from Bastilla and Juhani. "..O...Or...or let this little blood thirsty droid here toss you around a bit!" She said with a wave to HK-47 who perked up a bit at the idea of mayhem though held off since Myra hadn't given any acknowledgment to allow it yet.

"...W….well uh that and uh could you please get me out of here? You've obviously grown pretty strong yourself and you got some tough looking friends there?" He asked meekly now.

Myra crossed her arms about her own chest, "..The sand people said we can take you and the Jawas back. I suppose we can see fit to see you back too safely." She said easing Mission back from further strikes on her brother with soft spoken words, "..Remember our training Mission, there is no emotion…." She said.

"...There is peace.." Mission finished with a huff and sigh "..Yeah fine we can see you back. Just manage to ke-What? Is there something else?" She asked then halting her acceptance as both Jedi turned back to see Griff had more to say.

Looking between the arrayed female Jedi, and the rusty blood red toned mean looking droid, "..Uh well I ...I wanted to say thank you and uh you look like you're doing well. Financially, I mean. S...Say um could you spare a few credits to get me back on my feet?" He asked with a pleading look in his eyes.

It seems even Bastilla's patience had its limits as the other woman spoke, "..I don't believe this you are hitting up you're own sister for credits?" She said incredulously.

Mission nodded, "..Lena was right about you Griff! We should just leave you here urgh! Don't talk to me anymore…..ever!" She said turning away.

Getting slowly back to his feet Griff seemed to gather himself as the group walked out of the Sand People camp. "Huh well um….that didn't go too well. Sis always was a little too fiery for her own good. She'll cool down in time." He said as they left the camp.

Myra felt like retorting with a 'don't be so sure' but then reconsidered her own emotional reactions for Mission's sake. "..So now what Griff?" Myra asked.

"..You all may have saved my life, but I don't have a single credit to my name." He said then looked Myra up and down trying to look suave and what he seemed to hope was a charming allure. "..Say you wouldn't be able to spare some credits? Just till I get back on my feet, you know? I'll pay you back I swear!" he said.

Myra sighed, glancing over at the party lead spot where Mission was silently trekking back to Anchorhead, not having heard or more likley not caring how things went with her brother anymore. Taking out a small chit of 100 credits Myra handed it over, "..Here, 100 credits, you'll have two weeks to pay me back." She said.

"..Just 100 huh? Well ok thanks, I appreciate that it shouldn't be too hard to get you paid back I already got a job lined up for me." He said confidently.

"..And what would that be?" Juhani asked from the pairs right. Sipping from a canteen on her waist.

"..Greeta the manager over at Czerka supply shop said I could come work for him if I ever get tired of the mines. I think I'll go take him up on the offer." Griff replied. Then got a considering look to his features, "..You know maybe there's something else you can help me with. I need to talk to a guy first and set up the details, but if you're interested in a job come see me in Greeta's shop." He said as the group came up to Anchorhead's gates as they slid open.

Moving ahead then he turned to face the party, "..Uh goodbye Mission, uh I'm glad you're not dead!" he said awkwardly.

"..Hmph!" She said turning away again, as Griff left the party as did the Jawa's soon after from giving their thanks and a few found scraps of repair parts.

After a moments passing of thought Mission and the others turned to Myra, "..So where too now?" Mission asked.

"..I think we should use that map of the deeper desert plains and find that Kryat Dragon cave the Sand People mentioned to us and try to see if it doesn't hold the Star Map. But first let's get a small lunch back at the ship and cool down a little before heading back out." Myra decided.

With nods all around except from HK-47 the group returned to the landing area for the Ebon Hawk.
