11º - Meting the Western family part1

"Mate, it is time to eat," Inu no Taisho said calmly. The whole family had woken up early that day, due to all the noise that Kagome made while trying to rise from her bed. For that reason, breakfast would have to be served earlier than usual. Aimi looked at her mate and nodded. There was meaning behind his words. It was time to present Kagome as their newest pup and recently added member to the pack, to the rest of the family.

"Please, do not fret mate; I shall make sure that Kagome is ready in time be presented to the rest of the family." It was Inu no Taisho´s turn to nod. His mate had always been very intuitive. She could always understand the meaning behind his words. He looked one last time at Kagome and smiled. They were pack now and still she was assuming a defensive position. She was still near Aimi, protecting her if necessary. "I believe that we didn´t gain a new pup... We gain a new guard for my mate."

It was instinct, really. Aimi had saved Kagome´s life, and now, Kagome felt over-protective. She would give her life protecting his mate. It was very common in pack demons since that was the way they survived. "This is going to be fun." It was his last thought before leaving the room.

Aimi could feel the contentment emanating from her mate. He was happy with the result of this entire situation. Kagome was still looking to where Inu no Taisho was standing before he left. Her back was still turned to Aimi, giving her the opportunity she needed to embrace Kagome in a bear hug. Before Aimi could react, Kagome turn herself in Aimi´s arms and returned the hug. Kagome started nuzzling her nose against Aimi's jaw and purring softly. This was typical behavior from a scared pup when being protected by his or her mother.

Nothing could have made Aimi happier than this. Her new pup was asking for affection and protection from her, reacting to Aimi as a daughter would with a mother. Even if Kagome was behaving by instinct, Aimi was in heaven. She would pamper this pup until she couldn´t hold her anymore. In the end, they would save each other. She reached for Kagome, petting her hair, kissed her forehead and started purring herself.

"My pup, as much as I love being here with you, we are expected to make a show in the dining room. You need to eat normal food again." Her voice was soft, caring and full of love. Kagome could hear her, but she was not quite ready to leave the comfort Aimi was giving her. Never, in her whole life, had she felt like this. Never had she had someone that was actually interested in caring for her, someone willing to have her and treat her as a pup.

However, she also understood responsibility. She knew that they had to go and meet the rest of the family. It was the next step of joining a pack. Reluctantly, her arms released Aimi and she stepped back.

"I understand... Please tell me what to wear." Her voice didn´t betrayed her. She felt lost; however, her voice sounded confident. Aimi had a smile upon her face. Kagome was very easy to talk to. She understood duty and responsibility. It wouldn´t be hard to integrate her in their lives.

Turning around, Aimi walked to the wardrobe and looked at all the kimono she had offered Kagome during her time with them. Kagome was about to be present to the rest of the pack, as her new pup. She would have to be stunning. All the kimono were beautiful; however, there was one in particular that would be amazing on her. It would make her eyes stand out and it had their family mark stamped on it, making it clear that she was now part of the ruling family. With the kimono in her hand, she walked back to Kagome and gave her the kimono.

"My pup, please wear this one. It will make you look beautiful and it has our mark on it." Kagome nodded and grabbed the clothes. However, she would need a bath first. Almost like she had read Kagome´s thoughts, Aimi went to the far side of the room and opened a door. "In here you can find a bathroom with everything you may need. Use it to your heart´s content, but please do not forget that we are expected in the dining room." Kagome was feeling nervous; Aimi could see her small body shaking, probably due to the idea of being alone, but it was necessary. Kagome would have to get used to being on her own in this place. It was now her house. Aimi smiled, gave Kagome a reassuring hug and left the room.

"Ok Kagome, you are a grown woman; you can do it!"

Inu no Taisho was the first one to arrive to the dining room. The table was already full with food, ready to be eaten by the family. He didn´t have to wait long. His elder son and heir of the lands arrived soon after and took his place at the table. He seemed calm enough and sooner or later they would have to have this conversation.

"Sesshomaru… Kagome is now part of the family. She made the oath and I will now present her as my new pup. I hope you and your beast can deal with it," Inu no Taisho said in a low voice. It wasn´t a threat but a promise of pain if anything went wrong.

"I understand, father. My beast is calmer now. I will make sure it will continue that way." Sesshomaru had a little ´conversation` with his beast. They both came to an agreement that they wanted the girl and they would take her as a mate. They would just have to wait for the right time. As soon as she reached her mating age, they would fight every male who wanted her; they would win her heart and, in the end, she would be theirs. Sesshomaru´s beast started purring when thoughts of their future mating night arrived. He would make sure that both of them enjoyed it.

Inu no Taisho heard his son purring; however, he didn´t say anything. He knew how hard it could be to deny as beast´s desire, especially if his beast was claiming a female.

A few minutes later, his youngest son entered the room. In a steady pace, he seated at Sesshomaru´s right and greeted his father and alpha.

"Good morning, father. I hope all is well?" Inuyasha could feel some kind of oppressing power emanating from Sesshomaru. Almost like he was challenging him, silently. But why? What could he have done to piss of his older brother? Of course, they had their fights, they were brothers; however, his brother never ever engaged in fights without a motive.

As for Sesshomaru, he was furious. With all his thinking about Kagome, he had forgotten about his younger brother. Inuyasha was a young adult. Just recently, he had his first sexual experience, which meant that sooner or later, he would be looking for a mate, and Kagome was free game. She didn´t belong to anyone yet, which meant that if Inuyasha became infatuated with Kagome, they would have to fight for her. Just the thought of seeing them together brought an immense rage to the Inuyoukai. That would not happen. Inuyasha would never have her. Both Sesshomaru and his beast agreed with that.

Inu no Taisho could feel his older son´s anger directed towards his youngest. He could understand, really. Inuyasha was a future threat to Sesshomaru and his plans. However, this couldn´t happen, not now. His mate and new pup would be arriving in a few minutes and Sesshomaru´s red eyes wouldn´t help.

"Sesshomaru, stop that. Inuyasha didn´t do anything…" "…yet…" He didn´t say the last part, but it was obvious in his words.

Sesshomaru heard his father and knew that he was right, again. Since when was he so impulsive? Usually, it was hard to make Sesshomaru lose his cool. However, when related to Kagome, he would go on a rampage and feel like kill something. This was getting out of hand very fast. When his father had told him about the possibility of his beast choosing a female, making him nervous all the time, until he got her, Sesshomaru was not expecting this. And definitely not jealousy nor obsession.

"Yes, father…" Sesshomaru´s voice was husky and low. His control escaping him very fast.

Inu no Taisho nodded and looked in his youngest's direction.

"Inuyasha, you will now meet my new pup." This would be hard on Inuyasha. He knew that his son was used to having all the attention from their mother. But now, with Kagome, Aimi would be directing all her attention to her, and Inuyasha would feel that.

"New pup? What is this about?" His voice didn´t hide his surprise. He was not expecting this. A new pack member, especially in the ruling families, was something very rare.

"Yes, Inuyasha. A week ago, your brother saved a demoness and brought her here. Your mother has been taking care of her until now. That´s why you haven´t seen her. This morning, the demoness accepted her position as your mother´s new pup." Inuyasha couldn´t believe his ears. New pup? A demoness? This was too much information in so little time. "Your mother and Kagome will be here any minute."

"Kagome?" Inuyasha looked at his brother like he was stupider than Sesshomaru originally thought.

"It´s the new pup´s name, Inuyasha," his father answered with a resigned sigh. Sometimes, Inuyasha could be so dense. Sometimes, he didn´t even act like he was his son.

They stood silent for a few minutes. Sesshomaru kept glancing in Inuyasha´s direction while trying to keep his beast at bay. Inu no Taisho was aware of the situation, but in that moment, there wasn´t much he could do without raising suspicions from his younger son. Things continued like this until the main doors were opened and two demonesses joined them in the dining room.
