LIGHT AND DARK – RETURNING OF DARK
CHAPTER ELEVEN
The second part of the Scouting Legion's attack on N-Section Headquarters, and some more action, but also a lot of plot reveals, I guess?
(S/N – Near's Theme C: Death Note)
The command room now had its power restored, and Near sat at his desk, surrounded by a dozen N-Section agents. Among them were Matsuda, Kittan, and Watari.
"It's almost certain now that the Scouting Legion is heading for this room" he said calmly, "They are likely attempting to capture me, either for information, or simply to kill me and shut down N-Section. As of yet, we cannot determine the motive behind this, since we are yet to come into actual conversation with a Legionary, but with time, I can surely deduce their objective".
(S/N – Mello's Theme B: Death Note)
Mello grunted in pain as he rose from his position on the armoury floor. Having just recovered consciousness, he looked around. Matt was also just recovering his consciousness, and staggered to his own feet.
"What happened?" groaned Matt, "What the hell was that thing?"
"It's a Persona" explained Mello, "They deal with this kind of stuff in the Supernatural Department of N-Section"
"Ah, crap" said Matt, "There's no way we can take that thing head on!"
"There's one guy who can" replied Mello, brushing dust off his leather jacket, "The department head of Supernatural, he's the only one on site with a Persona".
"We've gotta get to Supernatural then, right?" asked Matt. Mello nodded, and they sprinted off down the destroyed corridor in the direction of the Supernatural Department.

The door to the command room opened, and in walked the blue-haired boy who had overcome Mello.
"Oh, and you must be Near" he said.
"Indeed I am" replied Near, "And I don't believe you've introduced yourself?"
"Oh, how rude of me!" laughed the boy, "the name's Minato". Near's eyes narrowed.
"You are a dead man walking" he stated.
"Yeah" said Minato, his face darkening, "strictly speaking I am still dead, but I've got some things to clear up before I move on".
"And that requires you to do this?" asked Near.
"Yes, but don't worry" replied Minato, "I haven't actually killed any of your guys, and with your budget I'm sure you can afford a few new doors".
"So, why are you here?" said Near.
(S/N – Matt's Theme: Death Note)
Matt and Mello rounded the corner that opened into Supernatural, and surveyed the scene before them. The department was largely undamaged, but unconscious N-Section agents were everywhere. One of them, however, was not down and out. He wore a grey hoodie, with the hood up so his face was barely visible, but a wild fringe of brown hair could be seen.
"Captain" said Matt, "We're gonna need your help with something"
"Oh, I guess it's the brat with the Persona rampaging through our base?" he replied. "Well, I've got nothing better to do, lead the way".
The three of them returned down the corridor the way Matt and Mello had come.
Soon they came to the Command Room door. The newcomer opened the door and walked in.
"Well well well, what do we have here?" he said with a smirk.
"Don't get in my way, I have to speak to Near" said Minato, "Stay back, or I'll knock your ass into next week".
(S/N – A New World Fool: Persona 4)
"Don't screw with me brat, I'll smear the walls with you!" snarled the Captain, "AWAKEN, MAGATSU IZANAGI!"
A crimson Persona materialized, its mask dripping with blood, and a giant halberd in one clawed hand. It charged at Minato, who raised his evoker and summoned Thanatos.
Magatsu Izanagi and Thanatos locked blades between the two Persona-users, and the backblast blew back the Captain's hood. It was…TOHRU ADACHI!
"You're gonna regret this" he growled, and sent Magatsu Izanagi on another attack, "VORPAL BLADE!"
Magatsu Izanagi swung its glaive all about, slicing apart consoles and knocking Thanatos back.
"Well, you're not bad" laughed Minato, "so I guess I can go all out!"
"Engage, Orpheus!"
Another Persona took Thanatos' place. He had a harp in one hand and a shock of wild hair.
"Agidyne!" yelled Minato. A burst of flames engulfed Adachi, and he howled in pain.
"MAGARUDYNE!" screamed Adachi, and fierce winds hurled Minato to the ground, also knocking down Matt, Mello, Near, and all of the N-Section Agents! Adachi powered up with Heat Riser, then unleashed his ultimate attack.
"MEGIDOLAON!" he commanded, and a burst of energy smashed Minato against the wall.
"Heh, you're actually pretty strong" chuckled Minato, climbing to his feet, "but it's high time I finished this". Thanatos emerged once again, beside Orpheus.
"Soul's end, come forth, Messiah, my ultimate Persona!" he declared. Orpheus and Thanatos combined into a pure white reflection of Thanatos, with Orpheus' facial features and hair.
"Morning Star" he said. Adachi was seared by a white-hot light that dispelled his Persona and cast him to the ground.
(S/N – Corridor: Persona 4)
Tohru Adachi was dying.
"Fuck" he spat out, "I lost?" Adachi coughed up some blood.
"They told me I could be the good guy for once, and this is what I get? What a load of shit" he groaned.
"Your Arcana is changing" said Minato calmly.
"Lemme guess, the Fool?" smirked Adachi, "I always was an idiot then, just like that stupid brat Narukami….."
Tohru Adachi stopped talking, and breathed his last.
Minato turned and walked out of the room.
"I've got everything I needed" he said to Near as he walked away.
Meanwhile, with Dark!
Dark had escaped Area 51, most of which was now on fire. He Death Noted a dude and stole his car, then drove away as fast as he could. Suddenly, another car pulled in front and blacked his path. Dark stopped but not before he hit the other car BANG.
Out of the car got….SUZAKU KURURUGI!
"There's someone who wants to see you" he said with a lol.
The other door opened.
It was Awesome De Britannia!
DUN DUN DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUN
So we have our first major death I guess? And Awesome is back, so I'm sure the plot and the general serious mood of this fic will disappear for at least a couple of chapters lol. Next up is the final chapter of the Return of Near Arc!
