Ch. 11

Itachi slightly stirred in his sleep as he felt someone's hand on his forehead. His eye lids shot open as he looked at the person, seeing it was Celica.

"What happened?" Itachi questioned

"Someone mixed sake with your drink." Celica said as she sat down on his bed

"I see."

"Now then, I believe it's time you tell me." Celica said as she looked at him from the corner of her eyes "And don't lie."

Itachi sat up on the bed. "Care to be more specific?"

"When you removed Her Majesty's necklace, it wasn't speed or some ninjutsu from your world, it was magic, but there was no magic circle." Celica said as she turned to fully face him "Then last night, when I arrived at the scene I could sense the magic in the air, and its source was you."

Itachi's eyebrows slightly rose, barely noticeable. "I expected you would take notice." Itachi sighed "Do you remember, a over a year and a half ago when we went to the capital, you were meeting with Her Majesty and I had taken the liberty to train with Albert and Re=L?"

"I do." Celica nodded

"We stayed there for a week. While you spent your time with the Queen, and I wasn't training, I decided to take a walk around the city." Itachi said as Celica listened "I arrived at a small book store and was browsing around when I came across an old looking book. The cover read 'The Seven Sins'. Something about it caught my interest."

"So you bought it." Celica said

"Actually, the store owner gave it to me, said the book had chosen me and that I would be the only one able to learn from it." Itachi stated as Celica rose a brow "I was skeptical about it too. I thought he probably had it sitting on the shelf for so long and couldn't sell it, that he just decided to get rid of it. I was still in doubt, but something about the man felt too familiar."

"So you just took the book." Celica said

"Of course not." Itachi replied pulling at the bookmark from a book next to the bed "I bought this bookmark, paying more than what it was worth and left before the man could give me the change."

"What did the man look like, where is the book store and where is the book?" Celica questioned eyes narrowed

"Tall, long silver hair, eyes were...black? No, maybe they were white? Silver?" Itachi held his head as he shook it "I can't seem to remember him as clearly as I thought."

"The book store's location?" Celica questioned

"Gone. I went back the day after to see if he had any other books and it's like the store was never there in the first place." Itachi said, now standing in front of the bookshelf as he grabbed a book "This is the book."

Celica stood and walked up to Itachi as he gave her the book. She felt powerful magic coming from it as she opened the first page. "Only the person who has control over their dark desires in the heart and body may be able to read and control the power within the book." Celica read as she flipped the page but it was blank.

Itachi saw her eyebrow rise, she seemed puzzled. "You can't read it, can you?" Itachi questioned as Celica looked at him "Just like you have been keeping your eyes on me, I as well have been keeping mine on you."

"You're saying I can't read it because I have given in to one of these 'Seven Sins'?" Celica questioned

"You're always learning and creating different types of magic. You search for it, you want to know more." Itachi said as he flipped through the pages and stopped "You're a Glutton for knowledge." Itachi closed the book and set it back on the shelf "Right now you're thinking and devising plans to find a way to read the book."

"My reason for wan-"

"Is to help me." Itachi stated as she nodded "You want to learn from it to see what it could do to me, if I would lose control." Itachi lightly smiled and sat on the bed "Everyone has a sin, even I, but the reason I can read it, is because I have control over it, over them."

"So what magic did you learn from each sin? Which one's can you fully control? And which one is the most dangerous?" Celica questioned narrowing her eyes.

"Pride, Greed, Sloth, Gluttony are the one's I can fully control." Itachi answered looking at Celica "Lust and Envy are not things I have felt, for as long as I can remember, therefore, I can not truly comprehend what they can do." Itachi lay back down on the bed and looked at the ceiling "The most dangerous...are Pride and Wrath."

"You just said tha-"

"I have full control over Pride, so it is not a danger to myself, but to my opponents. As for Wrath...there is a special condition to being able to control it...which I believe I may have found, but if I am wrong..."

"If you're wrong, what will happen?" Celica questioned

"I will..."

-Few Days Later-

It was early in the morning the sun hadn't shown a glimpse of itself yet and Itachi was at the park in shorts and a muscle shirt as he was training with one of his shadow clones. He had been at it for an hour or so as he felt a familiar magic signature coming his way. Before the person could get close to seeing them, Itachi dispelled his clone.

Itachi was at the center of the park near the water fountain as he began punching and kicking at a tree and waited for said person to close in.

"Itachi!"

Itachi stopped and turned around seeing Rumia in blue shorts and a white t-shirt running up towards him.

"I'm sorry i'm late." Rumia said

Itachi motioned her to get closer and when she did she was met with two fingers tapping her forehead.

"You're actually early." Itachi said

Rumia rubbed her forehead as he motioned her to follow his lead. They ran a few laps around the park before stopping and they began practicing her punches and kicks. Truth be told, the two had been working out together since their training for the Mental Defense competition. Though to not over work her and tire her out, Itachi decided they would work out every other two days, for the both of them, however, he would work out every morning.

The sun had begun to shine behind the trees and people began coming to the park, Itachi and Rumia jogged near the center of the park as Itachi saw the woman had opened her small ice cream stand.

"Rumia." Itachi said as she stopped and looked at him "Let's cool down, you've done well today."

Rumia tilted her head and saw him motion towards the ice cream stand. She smiled and nodded. Itachi walked over to the stand and ordered ice cream for the both of them as Rumia waited patiently sitting on the ledge of the water fountain. Rumia kept her eyes on Itachi the whole time and had dozed off that she slightly jumped when she felt Itachi tap her.

"Are you tired?" Itachi asked

Rumia shook her head. "No,no. I was just thinking." She replied and thanked him for the vanilla ice cream and began eating "Itachi..."

"Hm?"

"Thank you." Rumia said as he rose a brow and she lightly laughed "You've been training me even though you have no obligation to."

"There was no reason to deny your request." Itachi commented

"The reason I wanted you to train me is because I don't wish to become a burden to you...or anyone else. " Rumia said looking down at her ice cream "I'm not strong like the others, and I feel like the promise is weighing you down..."

"You're not a burden." Itachi said eating his chocolate ice cream as she looked at him "And I am not training or protecting you because of the promise. It's because I chose to, even without making the promise I believe I would have still been on your side, because..."

"Because...?" Rumia softly said

"You're the light." Itachi said as he faced her and she rose a brow "You're the one that will shine in (my)darkness."

Itachi saw her tilt her head curiously, he then spotted some ice cream beside her lip as he wiped it off and ate it.

"Vanilla is pretty good too." Itachi said

Rumia looked up a him as her face turned a shade of pink.

Itachi noticed. "Sorry, would you like some of mine too?" he questioned

Rumia looked at his ice cream 'Indirect kiss!' She thought as her blush grew a darker shade and she lost her balance as she began falling back.

She reached out towards anything as she grabbed a hold of Itachi's ponytail and brought him down into the fountain with her.

Rumia was wet and when she looked beside her she realized she had pulled Itachi down with her and now he too was drenched, his long hair having come undone from its pony tail was now loose.

Rumia quickly got up and out of the fountain. "I'm so sorry!" She began apologizing as Itachi removed himself from the water fountain and then her eyes widened when he suddenly hugged her "Y-You're not mad?"

"Of course not, but we have bigger problems at the moment." Itachi said

Rumia saw Itachi look down at her then away. She rose a brow as she looked down at herself and realized that her bra was visible through her shirt. She looked around seeing people watching them as she then hugged Itachi tighter. She then felt him pick her up keeping her front close to him, hidden from the view of others as he made their way towards the tree he had left his jacket at. Itachi grabbed the jacket and wrapped it around Rumia as she quickly put it on and zipped up the front.

"Th-Thank you." Rumia said hiding her blushing face under the hood

"I believe it's time we went home and shower for school." Itachi said as Rumia nodded "Come on, I'll walk you home."

Later that morning

Itachi was sitting with Glenn at the water fountain where Glenn first met Sistine and Rumia on their first day here at the school. Itachi looked at Glenn who seemed exhausted.

"Maybe you should train on the weekends instead." Itachi said

"That's funny coming from the guy who trains every damn morning." Glenn replied

"Yet you're the one that looks worse." Itachi commented as Glenn shot him a small glare "They're here."

A second later Rumia and Sistine walked onto the street they were on.

"Itachi, Sensei, Good morning!" Rumia greeted them

"Good morning." Itachi plainly said

"Good morning." Glenn tiredly said

"Sensei, you look terrible. Did you not get enough sleep?" Rumia questioned

"You're worried about Rumia so you've been waiting for her every day, right, Sensei?" Sistine said as she then looked at Itachi "Same goes for you." Sistine smiled.

"That's not it." Glenn said as he looked away

"You don't have to worry about me. You can take it easy." Rumia said

"We just happen to be walking on the same street at the same time." Glenn stood and faced away from them.

Itachi looked to his side as he saw the small figure he knew very well, jump into the air, sword held up high as she swung down at Glenn, who at the last second turned around and was able to stop the sword from slicing him in half.

"I've been wanting to see you, Glenn." The small blue haired girl looked at Itachi "Good morning, Itachi."

"Good morning to you too, Re=L." Itachi said

"R-Re...What the hell are you doing?! You trying to kill me?!" Glenn questioned now on his feet as he had taken the sword out of Re=L's hands.

"Greeting you?" Re=L tilted her head

"Huh?" Sistine and Rumia questioned

"How is this a greeting?!" Glenn questioned a tick mark on his forehead

"But Albert said this is what I should do when reuniting with a comrade in arms." Re=L replied

Itachi chuckled. "So Albert is behind it."

"Does he hate me that much, damn it?!" Glenn said as he and Itachi both imagined a laughing Albert

"That's the girl from the magic competition." Sistine said

"Re=L." Rumia said as she noticed her wardrobe "And that outfit is..."

"So you're the transfer student." Itachi said as Re=L looked at him and nodded "Which means you're the mage the imperial government decided to assign as a formal guard for Rumia, undercover as a transfer student."

"I never expected it to be her of all people..." Glenn said

"You came here just for me? That's reassuring." Rumia said as she then bowed slightly "I hope we'll get along well."

Re=L nodded. "Yeah, leave it to me. I'll protect Glenn." She said as Itachi sighed

"You're protecting Rumia, not me!" Glenn said then pointed at Rumia "The blonde,cute, super cute Rumia-chan! Is what Itachi would say."

A tick mark appeared on Itachi's head. "I have never said anything like that before." Itachi spoke

"I don't get it, but I'd rather protect Glenn than Rumia" Re=L said as Glenn then began nudging his fist on the sides of her head "Ow, stop it."

Itachi noticed the people looking at them as he pulled Glenn back, releasing Re=L from him. Itachi then looked down at Re=L and placed his hand on the top of her head.

"Just to be clear, you can't expose your identity or your mission, Got it." Itachi said

Re=L looked up at him and nodded.

"Good." Itachi said slightly ruffling her hair as he began walking away "We will be late if we keep standing around."

As the others started walking, Re=L brought her hand up and touched the top of her head. Rumia looked back at the girl and smiled, motioning her to follow them as she did.

-In Class-

Itachi and the others were now in their seats as Re=L stood in the middle of the class and Glenn was introducing her.

"Uh, starting today you have a new classmate, Re=L Rayford. So, yeah, be nice to her." Glenn said as the guys were excited having an other beautiful girl join their class and the girls thought she looked adorable.

"Re=L Rayford." She said as everyone sweat dropped

"You idiot, I just said your name. Say something about yourself, like what your hobbies are or whatever." Glenn told her

"Got it." She said now looking at the class "I'm Re=L Rayford. I'm enlisted in the Imperial Army, serving in the Imperial Court Mage Corps Special Forc-"

Itachi sent a glare at Glenn who screamed as he covered Re=L's mouth the began whispering in her ear.

"In the future, I'm hoping to join the Imperial Army? And I came from the Iteria region? To learn magic at this school?" Re=L recited the words being whispered to her but had said them in a questioning manner

"May I ask one question?" Wendy rose her hand as Re=L tilt her head "You said you're from Iteria. Did you come here without your family?"

Re=L eyes slightly widened then she looked down. "I had an older brother, but..."

"Oh, sorry. Please avoid questions about her family. She has no relatives right now." Glenn said

"I'm sorry! I didn't know." Wendy said

Itachi looked at Re=L. 'At the moment but, eventually this class will become her family.' Itachi thought

A boy in the back rose his hand and spoke. "It seems you two know each other, so what's your relationship?"

"My relation to Glenn?" Re=L questioned as she looked up at him

"Oh, about that..." Glenn scratched the back of his head

"Glenn is my everything. I've decided to live my life for Glenn." Re=L answered

"How bold!" The girls squealed

"Rejected already!" The boys except Itachi shouted, some having tears running down their faces

"Whoa! What are you saying?!" Glenn questioned her

'There's more to her story.' Itachi thought as he chuckled seeing Glenns face
