So, I've been thinking about ways to update this and I think I came to a conclusion. I asked for someone's opinion and she gave me a great idea as to where to go with this. This next chapter is based on Robin's POV in the Pilot in regards to meeting Barney. The series is told by Ted but what if the series was told by Robin instead?
Enjoy this follow up because it will be fun to see Robin's journey from meeting Barney and the gang, making a long lasting friendship with him and eventually falling in love with him. You can still read the other chapters cause they are great too but I'm starting from the start from this chapter on.
*The Pilot*
Robin had just arrived at the bar a half hour ago to meet up with some of her friends from work and was on her second drink when a friend came up to her to chat about something that happened at work. It was a long day for her at Metro New 1. Waking up so early in the mornings and sometimes working late hours too was stressing her and her co-worker friends out so they decided to go out to get some drinks. They weren't sure where to go but someone suggested a place called MacLaren's Pub which she hadn't been to or heard of since coming to New York only a few months earlier. The day was so stressful with so much news which made her too tired to do anything else. But, with a little pushing from her friend Lindsay she decided what the heck she could use a drink before going back to Brooklyn. Right?
A long day, some good food, a much needed drink and some bonding with her co-workers is a great way to relief stress. When her friend Lindsay started talking to her out of the blue about something that happened earlier that day she started to get a little annoyed so she started drifting in and out of the conversation and at one moment looked to the side trying to look interested in what Lindsay was saying and trying to seem interested all at the same time. She noticed two guys looking at her, one with this creep look on his face, just staring at her like she was some kind of weird alien person and then there was the other guy. He had blond hair, was wearing a suit and was not half bad, meaning a nice drink might not do the trick of her boredom and tiredness. She looks at this blonde in a suit and she smiles at him while trying to listen and ignore Lindsay chatting away.
She wanted to stop this conversation, go over to this really good looking guy in the suit start a little flirting conversation and maybe... We'll, no stop that Scherbatsky she said to herself drifting back to reality. "Oh, yeah how crazy, a monkey in a suit that won that best-looking-pet contest. He was really cute." Robin nodded with a smile trying to ignore this sudden rush of. Whatever it was she was feeling at the moment...
A few minutes later Robin walks over to the bar to order another round of drinks for her friends and herself cause damn the thoughts she's been thinking since that guy was looking at her. She wanted to go talk to him but she was so scared of what would happen next so she didn't. She waited for the drinks to be served to her, with a sudden tap on her should she instantly jumped and looked to see who it was who tapped her on the shoulder. 'It's him." She was hoping that he was going to talk to her but instead he just walked away after saying "have you met. Ted?" She didn't catch the name the guy in the suit was just saying to her all she could think about his this guy who was looking at her with this odd head tilt and a smile touched her. He freakin touched her on her arm.
She wasn't listening when this other guys was talking to her all she wanted to do was go running after the guy in the suit who touched her arm. That touch felt like a billion watts just shocked her, it was THAT powerful. Anyway, she listened to this other guy talking to her and suddenly she found herself on a date with him. But, she couldn't help but remember that guy in the suit who touched her arm and caused her to not pay any attention to the guy she was on a date with.
All night long she couldn't help but think about this blonde in a suit who touched her arm. She wanted to ask her date about him, she wanted to stop the date and go find this blonde in the suit cause damn... He fineeeeeeeeee. All night she couldn't stop thinking about him that she just wanted to get laid from anyone who paid any attention to her. When she asked this date of her to go back to her place she just wanted to have sex to get her mind off of those weird disturbing thoughts about his friend who touched her in more ways than she could really understand herself. She thinks it's weird but oddly quite a shock to her that a guy she doesn't even know can give her these thought by just touching her on her shoulder.
