Act 2

Chapter 4

A/N: Quick little note: remember how this story is rated M? well, let's just say that there isn't going to be an actual lemon or anything like that, but there is definitely going to be a bit of sexual stuff at least at the beginning. Don't get too excited though, like I said it's not a lemon ;).

"I don't know, she's cool and all…she's no argument smocking hot…I mean, but…ug, I don't know…" Twitch was pacing around his small home knocking around trash in his wake as he mindlessly walked in circles around his room. Twitch's rat friend Maurice squeaked a few times making Twitch blush. "No, we haven't done that and why would we? We aren't together…what do you mean by might as well be?!"

Maurice stared blankly up at Twitch for a few seconds then turned his head and ran away to the other side of the room to look for something to eat. Twitch stared grumpily at Maurice for awhile until he sighed and took a seat on his couch, bored he turned on the TV to see what was on. Twitch groaned when he was greeted by the image of two people, a man and a woman passionately kissing each other.

"Not these kinds of shows!"

If Twitch had anything better to do he would turn the television off immediately and go do that, but he didn't so he just continued looking at the screen.

Sivir had gone on a trip to Demacia for a job she got from one of her clients, Twitch knew it was something she had to do, but still he wished she didn't have to go. She had only been gone for three days and Twitch was already bored out of his mind. It was just like how it was before when he had no one…and it sucked, how he survived for all of those years alone was a mystery.

Twitch's focus returned to the screen when he heard a moaning sound coming from the TV his eyes widened as he realized that the man and woman from before were now naked and on a bed with each other…getting very familiar with one another. Twitch's face reddened so hard that it could easily have been seen even through his fur because that's how much he was blushing. He tried looking away, but the sight of it was mesmerizing and almost hypnotic. Twitch was about to lower his hand to his lower area when he suddenly heard a knock on the door and turned off the TV.

"Twitch? It's me!"

"Sivir!"

Quicker than Twitch intended to he ran over to his door and flung it open. He grinned as he saw his friend on the other side of the door.

"You're back! I thought you would be gone for longer though."

"Yeah, I was supposed to be gone for longer, but I got the job done quicker than expected." Sivir said smugly, especially the last bit. One thing that didn't change about her, Twitch noted, was her big ego.

"Did you miss me or something?" Sivir grinned making Twitch blush, thank the gods he had fur to cover it from Sivir.

"Actually…I did."

"Aw, isn't that cute, you missed me." Sivir pinched Twitch's cheek like a grandmother would do to their grandson and Twitch swatted it away playfully.

"Eh, shaddup."

They both shared a short laugh, while Sivir didn't tell Twitch she did in fact miss him too. Getting all that gold from the job she just did was nice and all, but now that she didn't have her obsession with gold she was able to realize that doing these jobs were more for reputation purposes than actually earning gold. Sivir had so much gold that she had a home/hotel room in all of the major cities, even Noxus. She was able to purchase expensive furniture and décor for everyone of those houses and barely put a dent into her vault of gold. Sivir basically had enough money to last her for the rest of her life, sometimes she wished that she didn't have her reputation as the battle mistress and could just spend more time with her best friend Twitch.

"You know, while you were gone they opened a new movie theater not too far from your hotel room."

Sivir raised a brow.

"Oh really? That's interesting, I'm surprised since most of the things that the Zaun government would spend money on are things relating to science and junk."

"Yeah, it's a big, wide building that has a bunch of flashing lights outside of it and, boy does it look amazing!"

Sivir chuckled at the child-like amazement that shined in Twitch's eyes, she felt like that the question didn't even need to be asked, but still she did.

"Do you want to go?"

"You bet I do! But…I can't…"

"Why…oh, right…"

Awkward silence filled between the two, neither not knowing what to say. Sivir never actually thought about Twitch's race as much as anyone would think, sure sometimes she did especially with recent thoughts that have been filling her head. Twitch behaved and thought so much like a human though that sometimes she just forgot that he wasn't a human. It was sad that Twitch was hated by so many people that he couldn't even go out and enjoy himself. Wait, an idea just popped into Sivir's head. The reason that Twitch couldn't go outside didn't even have to do with the discrimination he would probably face, she knew that Twitch was strong and if he really needed to go to the surface would be able to ignore those kind of people, however he wouldn't be able to ignore them if they were trying to kill him. Why did so many in Zaun want him dead again? Because he was falsely accused for so many crimes that he didn't actually do. If Sivir could find who really did those crimes then Twitch's name would be clear and all of that hate on Twitch would be put onto the person that actually deserves it.

"Twitch."

"Yeah?"

"What if I told you that I have a plan to get everyone to stop hating you."

"I would probably kiss you if you did that." Twitch had said that as a joke, but instead of a laugh he got a blushing Sivir and made him blush too. "I mean…I would be glad…really glad…why?"

Sivir coughed and recomposed herself after what Twitch had said.

"Well, I could track down the person who actually did all the crimes that were pinned on you clearing your name and getting people to stop wanting you dead."

Twitch snorted.

"You make It sound so easy."

"That's because it is."

Twitch tilted his head curiously.

"How so?"

"I got my connections, I could find this guy with just one phone call."

"Could you do it? Like right now?" Twitch said excitedly.

"Well, we got to go up to the surface since I got no reception, but yes I could."

Twitch zoomed past her and out the door then asked,

"Well come on, what are we waiting for?!" Twitch laughed gleefully as he ran ahead of her down the sewer.

"Hey, wait up!" Sivir ran off after her friend, both of them not taking notice to the fact that they left the door to his room wide open.

"What do you mean by that Niko?!"

"Battle Mistress, I already told ya, the dude hasn't been seen in twenty years. He's either dead or just vanished in thin air."

"How can someone who is wanted in almost all of the major cities disappear like that?"

Sivir looked over her shoulder back at Twitch. They were both standing in a random alley, he kept to the shadows so any people passing by wouldn't see him. Twitch noticed her looking at him and waved at her. She smiled and waved back, though she smiled she was really frustrated at the news one of her informants just gave her. Apparently the guy that did all of the things Twitch was blamed for was wanted in Demacia, Noxus, Piltover, pretty much every major city out there. The only things Sivir knew about him besides the fact that he was wanted by so many of the cities was that he was some mentally insane serial killer, he has no known relatives or friends, and from the picture her informant sent her he was really hairy and looked like he hadn't taken a shower in years. No wonder people confused him with Twitch, no one must've gotten a good look at him because at a distance he could look like Twitch.

"Don't ask me Battle Mistress, the dude just up and vanished into the thin air, people gave up looking for him awhile ago."

Sivir sighed and ran a hand through her hair roughly with frustration, she really wanted to catch this guy and prove that Twitch was innocent, but if he was able to hide for those many years then how could she possibly find him? For all she knew the man could be dead. She let out another annoyed sigh.

"Well thanks Niko, I guess."

"If I may ask, why do you care about the guy anyway?"

"…It doesn't matter, thanks for your help Niko, but I got to go."

Sivir ended the call quickly so she wouldn't be asked anymore questions from Niko, he was a good informant but asked way too many questions than an informant should. Twitch noticed that the call had ended asked,

"Sooooo? Did you find anything?" Twitch had a smile full of excitement, he really wanted more than anything right now to have his name cleared something that he once thought didn't really matter.

"Well…" Sivir awkwardly played with her hair as she continued with the bad news. "I got bad news for you…"

Twitch's smile left his face and was replaced with a worried frown.

"What is it?"

"The guy hasn't been seen in twenty years, he's either really good at hiding or dead."

"…DAMN IT!" Twitch kicked a empty can at the wall and it bounced off and hit the ground with a clunk. "This is awful!"

Twitch was really angry with the news, she wasn't surprised though she knew he would either be really angry or really sad at the news.

"I do have a picture of him."

Twitch stopped his train of curses he had been spitting under his breath and turned to look at Sivir. Sivir walked up to him and held her phone out to show him the picture. Twitch snatched the phone out of her hand quite roughly and examined the image on the screen. After a few seconds he gasped, his anger grew more.

"NO. FUCKING. WAY."

"What?" Sivir dared to ask.

Twitch tossed the phone back to Sivir, which she caught even though the suddenness of it, and began walking in small circles mumbling angrily.

"What's wrong?"

Twitch snapped his head to her and snarled.

"I. Know. This. Guy."

Sivir tried to ask how, but Twitch had opened a manhole in the alley that would lead them back down to the sewer and started climbing down. Sivir followed after him, closing the manhole back over the hole. Once Sivir had climbed down the ladder and felt the stone pavement beneath her feet she looked around for Twitch and saw him running in the direction of his home.

"Twitch wait up!"

Sivir ran after Twitch, he had lead her back to his home and since the door was left open Twitch had ran in their without a thought and came back out with his crossbow and a bunch of poisoned bolts.

"What are you planning to do with that?" Sivir asked, Twitch had a look that said that he wanted to kill someone, hopefully he didn't though.

"To think that this man you say has been able to hide for twenty years is my neighbor."

"Neighbor? Other people live down here?"

Twitch shook his head.

"Just one, I never talked with him and did my best to avoid him, but I know his 'home' is nearby."

"Would you happen to know his name?"

Twitch shook his head again.

"No, but everyone seems to like to call him the human Twitch."

Well it did make sense, the man did once again look like Twitch a little bit, except for the obvious feature of him being human and not a actual rat, even though he kind of looked like a rat.

They had been walking for not too long until suddenly Twitch held his arm out in front of Sivir stopping her.

"Wha-"

"Shhhh…" Twitch held a finger up to his lips and motioned Sivir to stay close to him.

Slowly the pair walked forward until they reached a corner and Twitch once again stopped Sivir. Twitch peaked his head around the corner and saw what he had been looking for. Similar to his room, there were others like his that once held a purpose, but were long abandoned years ago since very few brave souls were willing to come down into the sewers. One of those rooms were around the corner, the metal door to it was wide open letting a glow of light come from it, human Twitch was most likely in there.

"Once we get inside don't speak too loudly or make any fast moves, he will either attack or try to run away." Twitch warned Sivir of how easily frightened the insane man inside the room was. Sivir nodded in understanding and followed him quietly as they walked towards the room and stopped outside of the door.

Twitch peaked inside the room and saw a small tent set up in the corner of the room, aligning the walls were old computers and machines, in the middle of the room was a small campfire with a hairy man sitting in front of it with his back to them. In the man's hands was a banjo, he strummed at the strings softly letting out slow and quiet notes from the banjo, he also seemed to be humming a tune equally slowly, his voice seemed raspy and deep judging from his humming.

Twitch looked back at Sivir and motioned her to follow her inside.

They slowly entered the room and as they got closer to the man he stopped humming and playing the banjo which made both Sivir and Twitch stop. They stood frozen for a minute, expecting the man to acknowledge their presence. After awkward minutes of silence they finally got what they wished for except not in the way they thought.

"Sister? Sister, I told you, I'm too busy to play with you right now." He coughed in between some of his words, letting out a disgusting gagging sound too.

Twitch exchanged a look with Sivir, he had to hold back his laughter. This nut job was responsible for the murder of so many people, yet it looked like he could barely move with how frail he looked. Maybe he was in better shape when he did it or something, because right now it looked like a small child could pick him up and fold him like a piece of paper.

"I promise, I will play with you later…just go." More silence filled the room, Twitch tried to think of what to do or what to say, but he was completely clueless on what to do with this crazy man. Twitch was brought out of his thoughts when suddenly the man threw the banjo across the room, it letting out a loud noise as it hit the ground.

"I'm going to tell dad you're being annoying again."

The man stood up and turned around and stared, without blinking, at the both of us, it seemed like it was a slap to the face to see a giant rat and a human woman was standing behind him the whole time and not his "sister."

"Ooo, company!" The man clapped his hands together, a cloud of dust coming from his dirty palms. If he wasn't mentally insane and responsible for years of hate towards him, he would've been someone Twitch would've been best friends with. Sivir on the other hand almost gagged as soon as she stepped into the room, you would think that after being friends with Twitch so long she would've gotten used to horrible stenches, but this man must've been like this for even longer than Twitch because the smell coming from him was even worse than the one that came from Twitch when he hasn't taken a bath yet. Sivir was surprised this man was able to still be alive, there was no doubt he did nothing to take care of himself and probably just barely ate.

"Would you like some tea?" The man went over to his fire and held a cup that was being held by a stick over it, there was a black, disgusting liquid inside with a pair of dirty underwear hanging out of the side.

"Sure!" Twitch was about to take the cup when Sivir flashed him a look that reminded him why they were here. "Uh, maybe later."

"Suit yourself!" The old man cackled and drunk the liquid in one swig. "Ahhhh…"

Twitch sighed out of disappointment for not being able to try the drink and Sivir just shivered, this man needed major help but it was probably twenty years too late for that he just needed to be behind bars.

"You need to come with us sir." Sivir stated.

The man looked at Sivir, eyeing her up and down. Sivir felt uncomfortable by how much he was looking her over and even more when he suddenly spoke and said,

"Oh I would like to go anywhere with you pretty lady, will I get a reward if I be good?" The man licked his wrinkly lips and winked at Sivir, this almost made Sivir vomit, even more than when she first entered the room. Twitch frowned noticing his advances on Sivir, even though they would never work…on anyone, and forcibly grabbed him by the shoulder and started to force him out of the room, once they were outside the man began to struggle.

"Hey pal, what you doing? I just got this suit and you're ruining it!"

If he called a pair of rags that barely fit on his bony body a suit, and it couldn't have gotten any worse than it already was.

"Just shut up and keep moving." Twitch showed him his crossbow and pointed it right in his face, even though he had zero intention on killing him since he had to be brought to justice to pay for his crimes, willingly or not.

You have received a new message.

(11:13)They finally found your bat-shit crazy brother.

(11:13)How? They haven't found him in twenty years, how did they finally find him?

(11:13)Your old friend found him.

(11:14)Still hate him?

(11:15)How can anyone like that abomination? Of course I still fucking hate him.

(11:15)You know, I could help you find him to get revenge for what he did to you.

(11:15)…But it will cost extra?

(11:16)Heh, of course.

(11:16I'll pay whatever it costs, just tell me where that bastard is and I will end him

(11:17)The thing is, I don't know exactly where he is, but I heard his home is somewhere in the sewers.

(11:17)Good, that's all I need, I'm on my way to Zaun to pay you for your help and get that bastard Twitch.

(11:17)I wish you luck.

(11:18)I won't need it Niko, thank you for your assistance.

News on what happened spread like a wildfire in the city of Zaun, literally on the first page was about the trial against Edward Starfire (or human Twitch), the true mastermind behind the crimes that were originally blamed on Twitch. Everyone was shocked by just how much they looked alike and felt silly that all this time that it wasn't Twitch that they should've been fearing, but this insane madman.

Twitch, in the longest time, walked around Zaun a innocent…rat, he didn't have to worry about being arrested, shot, or attacked in any shape. Sure he got the occasional curious/disgusted look from a few people, having his named cleared didn't stop all of the hate and discrimination, just a great chunk of it. Next to him as he walked around the city was Sivir who had a big grin on her face that she was able to help Twitch in such a big way.

For once it seemed like things went smoothly, they brought Edward in, he was trialed, and now he was locked away, this all happened without a single thing going wrong. It seemed like the perfect fairy tale ending, the good guys beat the bad guys and the good guys live happily ever after…it all seemed too perfect and too easy, something in Sivir's gut told her that the hardships that Twitch would have to face aren't over. She decided though as she looked at the joyful smile on his lips though to push those dark thoughts away, this was supposed to be a happy time and she didn't want to spend it thinking about how something bad could eventually happen.

Twitch waved at a man passing by him on the sidewalk and he actually waved back! Without a single look of disgust or hate on his face, if anything he had a look of respect most likely because of Twitch being able to bring the true criminal to justice. Twitch laughed like a schoolboy at the thought that some people actually liked and respected him now, it was blissful!

"I can never repay you for what you did for me Sivir!"

Sivir blushed and rubbed the back of her head.

"Eh, it was nothing…"

"Not it wasn't just nothing! You gave me the freedom to not have to stay in the sewers all the time, I owe you greatly!" Twitch said, gratefulness filled his every word, he just couldn't stop smiling.

"Heh, well…what are friends for right? You helped me a lot too Twitch, let's just call it even."

"No, this blows all that stuff away! I'll have to spend the rest of my life trying to repay you!"

"Oh you don't mean that." Sivir was really blushing at the rain of compliments Twitch had been throwing at her, she never had felt this appreciated in a long time and it coming from Twitch just made her heart beat faster with joy of her friend's happiness.

Sivir stopped walking when she took notice that Twitch had stopped walking, she turned around and saw Twitch looking at her with a weird look on his face.

"Why did you stop?"

Twitch looked at his feet, avoiding Sivir's gaze for whatever reason.

"Well…I need to get back to my home and make sure Maurice is okay."

"Oh…okay." Sivir was disappointed that they had to end their time together so shortly, even though they had been walking and talking with each other for two hours or so. "I'll see you later then?"

Twitch was silent as he continued looking at his feet, he was blushing really hard, remembering something he said he would do if Sivir could do what she did for him. He was nervous because he didn't mean for that to be serious, but he still longed to do that even if she never actually managed to do what she did. Finally with a single gulp he managed to work up his nerve and walk slowly towards Sivir.

"Twitch what are you-" Sivir was silenced when Twitch stood right in front of her and leaned his head forward. Sivir wondered why he had gotten so close to her when she felt something slightly wet touch her cheek, Sivir had to contain her surprise when she realized that the thing that was touching her cheek was Twitch's lips! Twitch had kiss her on the cheek! Sivir couldn't get a word out when Twitch quickly pulled away and said really quickly that she barely heard him,

"OKAY,GOTTOGO,BYE!"

Twitch turned invisible and was gone leaving Sivir alone on the sidewalk. Sivir simply stood there wordlessly and motionlessly, that was the last thing she ever expected Twitch to do. She raised her hand to the spot on her cheek that he kissed and smiled. Being in love with a giant rat was a weird thing to admit even when you're thinking it in your head, but she couldn't lie or make up any more excuses.

She was in love with Twitch.

A/N: Wow, there was definitely a big leap in Twitch and Sivir's relationship in this chapter ;). It wasn't on the lips or anything, but it was a kiss which is something. Oh, and if you couldn't tell from the subtle hints in the chapter, this is far from over. As much as a fairy tale, happily ever after ending would've been appreciated by Twitch and Sivir, things never seem to work out that way for them do they? We still got more chapters to go for the second act, so it's far from over and while things seem good for now it won't stay that way, hint: it has something to do with the person looking to kill Twitch. (If you paid attention at all to this act than you probably guessed who it is already!)

Anyways, that's all I have to say, I hope you enjoyed this chapter and I hope to see you in the next chapter where things make a turn for the worst!

Have a great day/night folks!
