10. Light Wings Light Worlds

15 Days Until the Gate Closes

"Boruto, good morning…"

Mistuki greeted me as he arrived in the lobby. In a surprising turn of events we had been actually given a mission. I know we have had the past 3 weeks off to train since Sarada was on vacation with her parents. But since I know where they and dad have gone and had been told to keep it secret, it was surprising that we had been summoned.

"Hey, how's it been."

"Not much to say. I'm surprised we got called here. Did Sarada come back?"

"I'm not sure, we can do this with just us and Konohamaru."

He was set to retort when I heard our names get called. The attendant handed us the scroll and we both looked at it surprised.

"Rafting instructors?"

With Shikadi's dad as acting Hokage the idea for giving me a mission specifically, had now become clear.

"A distraction."

"Oh, hey guys…" We could now see Konohamaru enter the lobby in a surprisingly good mood.

"Konohamaru-sensei I'm surprised we got a mission." Mistuki nailed the tension away but I was still nervous.

"Well I do have news about that. Moegi mentioned to me that the mission her group got sent on only needed the guys for some strange reason she wouldn't divulge, and since were still down a person she kindly offered…"

My realization was quick as I could now feel her bopping my head in.

"What up guys…" Yep ChoCho is joining us. Her mouth already full of the chips she near constantly eats. "Moegi-sensei sent me over to join you guys. Is Sarada still on her trip?"

We nodded but my face was a mix of fear and dread at what would come. "So the rafting is…"

"The summer camp nearby is having a sporting festival, and we get to supervise the rafting competition."

We walked out of the lobby when we started to get the details, but my mind was clearly on whatever trouble 4 people I know were getting themselves into.

"Please be Ok guys."

4 Hours Later

"Dave, I have to say you do know your Italian places very well."

"I wouldn't call it that well Amy. Just a place my ex and I really loved to frequent. So much that were on a first name basis with nearly everyone in there."

As Dave led me to my car, I could tell this was very different from our initial awkward date that Penny and Bernadette had spied on. He almost reminded me of what Sheldon used to make me do on our date nights, reviewing the footage and using that to correct the issues I found fault with. Dave checked his phone calendar ready to ask me out again.

"So the rest of your week is open I assume."

"I have girls night with Penny and Bernie on Thursday but I'm free on Friday for Lunch if your willing to stop by CalTech." We reached my car and as he prepared to open it he stopped dead in his tracks.

"Amy, you said before you were in a relationship with Sheldon Cooper?"

I sighed in defeat at the very mention of him. Here we go again. "Yes why anything else you want me to…"

"I think that's him across the street."

Now I popped up and saw him. He was happy walking down the adjacent sidewalk, color me surprised he was out this late. Leonard must be nearby waiting to pick him up.

"Yeah that's him."

"He's with someone else…Looks really young though."

I did a double take on Dave's words and looked closer as Sheldon had stopped to tie his shoe. He was with a girl, looked only 13 from the looks of it. On a closer look, now I realized who she was.

"Penny kept mentioning to me about Sheldon's assistant. I think her name is."

"Sarada look…" As he pointed upward I could now see it. Multiple shooting stars were above them in a near glow of effervescence and brilliance she looked at him and smiled.

"Sheldon, they do say a wish can be granted if you see a shooting star."

"Well do you have a…" Sarada pressed her lips to Sheldon's face, my jaw was now wide open.

"What the Hell!"

They kissed for nearly a full minute and as they let go Sheldon backed off in shock.

"Sarada…I can't."

"Dr. Cooper why…" Her sadness was palpable from what I could tell and, in an effort, to relieve that he kissed her again. This time however he did to her what I got the first time on the train he kissed me and meant it.

"Sarada seems a little too into this." Dave hit the nail square on the head and as we watched them broke off and walked away happily I was now livid.

"He wants to jeopardize his career just to get back at me." I could feel Dave hug me in comfort but as I shed a tear I could now feel the conundrum the situation had placed me in.

"Do I report this?"
