Chapter Eleven: The Bunny's Tail
He wasn't sure if he wanted to run away and forget the incident ever happened, or break the blonde's nose with his boomerang. The ever wandering stare of the Shadow child didn't help, not when his blue eyes seemed to take him in, acknowledge his presence, yet reject it, ignored it.
Those eyes hurt.
And they reminded him a great deal of Jack.
Which made it hurt even more.
We have to keep it from him! Bunny had insisted a few hours earlier, when Sandy had come to the Guardians with a proposal rather unlike him, there's no way to know how Jack will react!
But that child has suffered because of this as well, managed Tooth, looking tired and aged as her little fairies fluttered about her in a chaotic rhythm.
Looks more like he's been gifted, North said off handedly, fiddling with a floating fish sculpture, for some reason, he grunted, carefully shaving the scales to perfection, I doubt we'll have any trouble from that child.
From him, maybe, Bunny insisted, but Jack will certainly have some issues, no, even that child will be angry!
Angry, perhaps, North sighed, but the child is careful, he'd keep Jack in line.
So you agree with Sandy! We should tell them?
I never said that.
Then what are you saying!
That if it ever came to that, the child would be our only hope.
We'll use him, Tooth whispered, disapproval written all over her face. Sand came billowing out yellow ears in agreement, not at all liking how the conversation had turned—exactly as the Demi-fiend had described.
"Hey," shouted an obnoxious voice, anger and…mainly anger, resonating and beating back the crowd, bodies turning from the scene and eyes seeming to suddenly no longer recognize the sight before them as the blue haired Shadow trailed behind the fuming blond. "Why are you stalking us?"
"Stalking?" he cried out indignantly, though he knew it was exactly what he was doing, the fact that he, the frekin Easter Bunny who stalked kids on a daily basis, was caught to easily annoyed him greatly.
"That's right," the blond snarled, leaning in and almost making to yank Bunny's ears before the Shadow placed a calming hand on the young man's side, blank eyes conveying some sort of message only the rampaging man understood.
Some small part of Bunny's mind was happy that the blond could see him, even as old as he was, but that was a very, very, very small part.
The rest wanted to pound the young man into the dirt.
It was odd, really, if he ever stopped to think about it, or was ever one to pull back and view the whole picture, that he would get this annoyed, agitated, over a single human.
And how, deep within his heart there was a resonating fear, a sharp pang of guilt.
You'll come see me again, won't you Bunny?
"By the Moon," Bunny gritted out, clutching his head, "what was that?"
"What was what?" the blond asked, much calmer now that he held the Shadow's hand within his own.
With a shake of his head Bunny drop kicked the question, "nothing some punk who tosses scolding hot liquid on someone needs to know."
"Right, of course the stalker has secrets." The blond drawled, eyes lazy, "let's go Kuro-chi, we'll take our date elsewhere."
"We aren't on a date." The Shadow murmured as they passed the stunned Easter Bunny, the two seeming to have completely lost interest in him in a matter of seconds.
Soon enough he was alone again, and after he was walked through a second time he bounded off into a nearby alley, still finding the whole exchange strange, and almost absolutely certain that once he reported to North he'd be laughed at for a good week…or maybe a month, depending of the man's mood.
Who one earth could be so…temperamental?
Bunny! Look! The cute birdies dying!
"The 'ell?" he almost snarled, clutching his head once more, "there better be some good arse explanation for this Sandy!"
Bunny! Hey, Bunny! Can I touch your tail? Please? Pretty, pretty please?
Hehe, it feels so soft! Nothing like dad's fists at all!
Hey, Bunny, you won't leave me, will you?
Please! Dad, stop, it hurts! Bunny! Bunny!

A/N: I know I said I wouldn't add in any relationships…but Kuroko and Kise kinda forced it…mainly Kise, because he's crazy in love…literally. At this rate some Danny/Jack might sneak its way in. But depending on you lot, I'll keep these relationships light. As in, really close best friends. Kise can't push it that far.
