Chapter 11: Intentions
"Really" Simone muttered, staring at her gold wristwatch. Light brown eyes watched the hand tick away in circles. She huffed in amusement at the time; taking note that the long hand was just a minute away from reaching the time of Sesshomaru's arrival to collect her for the dinner with his parents. It seemed that for any occasion he was neither late nor early but exactly on time. She sat on her beautiful couch flicking away imaginary dust off of her royal blue chiffon maxi dress with a scoop neckline and a flirty side slit rising to her thigh. Her hair was down in its naturally curly state with a pair of strappy black sandals and clutch.
Her mind wondered to many things with some causing a nest of butterflies and anxiety in the pit of her stomach. She could not stop thinking about what might have happened in that office and also what should have happened prior to all of this. Her knees came together just thinking about the sensations he continued to nurture from her body and spirit. It took a long heated shower and a power nap to just try and bring decorum to her once kosher body.
A shiver ran down her spine caressing her in a very sensual manner from the brush of youkai approaching; distinct to only to the Inu demon that consumed her thoughts. She looked immediately to the door in question feeling a dense energy pull against her in greeting and welcome. Rolling her eyes she made her way to the door and swung it open revealing said demon.
"Would it have killed you to use the doorbell?" She asked feeling his eyes take her in before she stood back to allow him to enter her domain. Sesshomaru nodded in greeting before taking a very cautious step into her home. She closed the door and looked him over with new appreciation of the fashionable styles and selections available for men in this era. The Adonis man had a button up black shirt with rolled up sleeves that clung to his muscles and dark washed jeans complete with black shoes. His hair hung causally down his back shining from a well needed shower after the beach run earlier that day. In his hand were gifts of flowers and a box. Golden orbs gazed around the living room and kitchen seemingly interested in the artifacts of her life. His masculine scent brushed against her senses making her weak at the knees. The desire to yell out "Fuck this dinner!" bubbled into her throat suppressed by responsibility and a little bit of the reserve she managed to hold on to.
Sesshomaru handed her the gifts in which she politely took and went to get them settled on the counter top. "Do not open the box until later." He warned watching the woman nod. He strolled into the room and was almost forced to take a seat form the TKO her luscious scent was hitting him with. He looked around taking in everything that was this woman today. The tropical colors suited her wild and untamed personality very well with the vibrant colors and shapes about the room. Reds and oranges highlighted the space with touches of crystal ocean blue accents along with the dark cherry woods of the furniture. American and Japanese gifts and paper written in kanji from new friends were seen on shelfs and taped to the walls. Pictures of family, friends, and coworkers littered a wall in a collage making him envious. His eyes scanned not seeing one image of the two together and this troubled him very much. Pushing that back for now, his attention was gained by the form fitted dress of the woman before him with smoky eyes and dusty pink lips that followed him with bright caramel eyes in question and admiration.
Simone tucked a piece of hair behind her ear in anxiety torn between putting some space between them and running to give him a proper greeting. "Right." She stated smoothing her dress down her curves before looking over at her clutch and keys with a gentle sigh of unsurety. She made her way over to grab them before her wrist was caught and her body pulled backwards into a very masculine surface. Her palm had landed on his chest before a clawed finger drifted underneath her chin coaxing her to look upwards. Her eyes met his scorching ones unable to look away from the trance he commissioned. His hands made their way to grip her small shoulders in a firm grasp to make sure he had her complete undivided attention.
"Konbanwa." He muttered watching her smile slowly up at him before placing her hands gently in the crease of his arms.
"Good Evening." She responded lightly in return feeling his lips press to hers in a gentle manner. Her body relaxed feeling the strong man literally take all that had ailed her and tossed it from her mind. The kiss was soft and gentle simply putting to rest any judgements and harsh misconceptions that he could feel bubbling within her aura. Smooth silky lips locked with soft plump ones loving the feel of something to latch on to. His calloused hands slid down her shoulders to grasp her hands in his own before pulling back allowing a fang to graze tantalizing slow with a soft smack of their lips parting. Simone licked her tingly reddened lips and blew lightly to cool the heated flesh.
"So…um…" She paused collecting her thoughts while trying to fight against temptation to just be loose and wild. "Welcome to my home."
She watched the demon look around again slowly loosening up from her flesh. A soft sigh escaped her at the release of his hands from her body. However her heart didn't get the memo and continued to beat like a racehorse.
Sesshomaru took a step back and looked around. "You mean temporary home." His words and tone washed over her accompanied with dreams and schemes of the meaning behind the bold statement. Letting her go he walked around her living room to look at the pictures that framed her wall until he found one of interest. Quickly she collected her items and made her way over to the Inu demon watching him look over a portrait of her and her mother.
Sesshomaru stared in confusion at the picture of a very much happy Simone sitting next to a woman that shared similar features. He noticed her the woman's complexion was darker that her own along with other features that made her aesthetic makeup much more complicated than he expected.
Simone smiled before speaking with pride. "That is my momma." She explained watching his eyes widen. She watched his expression change for a second before turning into more of a thoughtful expression while still focusing on the frame.
Sesshomaru looked at the image some more. Her mother had dark brown skin with hair that puffed about her reminding him of the 70's. Simone sat next to the woman with voluminous long curly black hair. Both women shared the same characteristics of having a megawatt smile and similar features from their big wide eyes to their thin nose. The only difference was the delicate laugh lines on her mother's skin and the slight grey highlights in her mother's hair. He looked to the woman beside him again with more questions than he realized he had. Seeing her alive in this era made him wonder if he really knew anything about her truly. Before, he knew nothing about her mom or dad, her history as a child, or anything about her life before she came to the west and met the dragon clan. He leaned back after looking at the picture committing it to memory.
What did he really know about her?
Simone saw this and grew nervous. Yes she knew this was bound to come up sometime. The topic of her ethnicity always seemed to come up sooner rather than later. Surely, the people of the streets of Tokyo stared at her in awe of her a strange mix of features. And him being a Japanese man living among a dominantly homogenous society didn't make this any easier. This made her feel somewhat uncomfortable.
Sensing her change in aura, Sesshomaru quickly placed those thoughts behind him and reached out for the woman. Her hand slid in his larger ones perfectly before he guided her towards the exit. "Come. My father I'm sure will come looking for you himself if we do not come."
Simone laughed lightly before locking the door and walking with him down the hallway to the elevators. She engaged him in conversation now mindful of the stares of the people looking at them. When they arrived in the lobby, she continued to ramble while eyeing the people in her surroundings feeling paranoid. Were they looking because of their differences? Were they staring because he was the richest man in Japan casually walking through the condo lobby with some strange foreign woman? Seeing his black speeding machine, she quickly pushed those thoughts away with a mental note to visit this later. They made small talk while his car came to life and eased its way smoothly into the evening traffic of Tokyo.
Simone sat in her seat and fidgeted with her clutch while watching the scenery outside of her window. Neon lights, city sounds, and tall buildings blurred passed the dark tint of the window and made the night seemingly more vibrant than the day time. She marveled at the inventions, the buildings, and the Japanese people. She witnessed the traditional times mingle with modern technology. Men and women owned the pavements walking in various directions with colored cellphones out looking for their companions. Demons and humans mingled with various features rushing or greeting each other in loving ways bringing warmth and satisfaction to Simone.
The city of Tokyo truly made her feel like she had been transported to another dimension. Red, yellows, blues, greens, lit up the world around them with various words, videos, and pictures of items and even people that should be obtained to improve one's happiness. They drove by a shop that advertised traditional ramen style cuisine and on the other corner she saw Pikachu waving a sign that said something about an electronics evening sale. After a while the neon lights began to slowly fade and more houses were seen. Time ticked and then there were more trees visible as they began to now speed up the winding hilly road making her heart speed up at the danger. She frowned at this before a loud buzzing sound was heard indicating a phone was going off. She looked to her clutch seeing that it wasn't hers. She looked over and his phone seemed to be lighting up the darkness in the car along with the neon lights. She looked over watching him press a button on his car and the caller's information pulled up on the display. His father's name flashed along with the number but Sesshomaru didn't answer
"What's wrong?"
Sesshomaru glared at the name before refocusing on the road. "My family grows impatient. They want you there now." He spoke feeling her anxiety increase. He saw her looking at his speedometer and began to slow down. As his speed declined so did her heartbeat. A smirk appeared on his face watching her settle back down in her seat comfortably with fingers loosening up on her seatbelt with a thankful prayer to god being whispered.
Simone sighed in relief feeling like her chances of surviving life had increased statistically tremendously now that he had slowed down. She looked out not seeing anything but older style houses and stores. An older couple strolling together was seen. "They live a little far outside of Tokyo." She voiced.
"Hn. Pollution has not been kind to our senses. The air is a lot fresher out here then it is in the city. The land out here is spacious enough to allow us and our children to run freely without human interference and laws."
Trees zoomed pass them in a blur but soon something caught her eyes. Lights up ahead began to appear through some of the trees. She sat up in excitement looking out of Sesshomaru's window as they turned a corner and the trees became less dense. They arrived to a modern gate and pulled up slowly. The gate opened immediately and Sesshomaru proceeded through it down a winding road. They drove pass a very large tori illuminated with lights that had her in awe. Soon the trees broke revealing a manicured land.
Sesshomaru could feel her happiness as her eyes made contact with a very familiar structure. Her eyes couldn't believe what she was seeing. The castle she remembered from before was standing in front of her yet on a smaller scale. The browns and whites of traditional style design and colors mingled with that of the prefectures of modern technology. Lights lit up the pathway to the large mansion with a great big lit fountain of two giant Inu dogs standing in the center. Various cars were parked in the circular area in front of the house. They pulled up slowly and came to stop right behind a bright red vehicle parked crookedly from the others.
Simone looked round her in awe. There was a case of stairs leading up to the large intricately carved doors in the front. Suddenly her door was opened and she looked to see Sesshomaru reaching out with his hand. She looked down and released her seatbelt before excitedly moving from the vehicle. Her hand fit into his hand and with grace he guided her upwards toward their destination. Her heartbeat rapidly with excitement and the need to run around the property bubbled within her. The outside looked very similar to the old place yet it was buildings of the barracks and various establishments for different services. A few beautiful well built houses could be seen on the property but nothing large and towering other than the main house was seen. It simply looked like a residence instead of its imposing form decades ago. Yet the grandeur was still there indicating that the Inu demons were still pissing on their territory.
They made their way up the staircase where the doors were opened on cue. The pair stepped through into the foyer. Simone looked at the high vaulted ceiling and the decadent designs everywhere. It was truly very Japanese and screamed of royalty as old trinkets mingled with new ones. The sounds of people talking reverberated off the walls making Simone feel nervous. She looked to her companion and frowned. "I thought this was going to be with just your parents." She hissed feeling him move her along down the hall.
"I never said 'just'." He countered smirking at her glare. She looked forward as they came upon another set of doors in which they were thrown open revealing a very exited and beautifully dressed Izayoi.
"My love!" She greeted rushing over to her and giving her a big hug. "We have been waiting for ages!"
Simone blinked in happiness before returning the hug. "What? No formal bowing today?" Simone asked playfully as Izayoi playfully hit her shoulder. Izayoi had her long hair down and chose to wear a beautifully form fitting fuchsia dress.
"Always late."
Simone looked up to see a very mod and beautiful Lady Inu Akimi walking through. The demoness walked up to her in a pure white suit with her white hair cut into a bob hairstyle with bangs. Her tall slender form strolled up to her and grabbed her by the shoulders before greeting her in a French manner.
"Lady Akimi." She greeted as well. "Ball busting still I presume." Simone responded hearing the demoness acknowledge before letting each other go.
"A good thing human. I'm very pleased you have carried my sense of style with you despite your previous getups." She acknowledged making Simone want to roll her eyes. The woman still was as brazen as ever and didn't know how to deliver a compliment.
"Now, now, can we please move this in the den so that we may all have our turn to greet our pack member."
There were a few hushes and rude comments thrown at the head Tashio yet they made their way forward none the less. Sesshomaru and his father greeted each other before walking behind the trio towards the den. Simone looked at how lavish everything was and was surprised to see a few children ran pass her while some looked at her in awe. Upon entering the very large den area were a sea of faces she recognized and some she didn't.
Inuyasha was there betting about something with Koga as each took their turn to greet her. Kagome hit Inuyasha upside the head for making a smart remark followed by Ayame who growled out at Koga for possibly ruining something important. Dante and Sakura were together happily chatting it up with Shigurai and Lady Akimi who were now an item. She was introduced to Miroku and Sango formally who were very warm and a riot to watch. She then was introduced to Shippo who seemed to be trying his best to please her due to uncertainty of the relationship between her and Rin. Due to their nature of Sesshomaru and Simone's relationship, this meant that Rin was technically Simone's adopted daughter. This fact was brought to Simone's attention by a snarky Inuyasha in the background happy to see the kit squirm.
Simone laughed at this before walking over to Rin and officially giving her a large hug. Simone playfully looked at everyone and nodded. "I officially accept my responsibility as Rin's parent despite my separation from Sesshomaru. Anyone that touches my baby will deal with me. Shippo, I'm watching you now." Everyone laughed at this while the kit seemingly sweat dropped at this.
Laughter, loud noises, cheering, and jokes were heard bringing great love to her heart and tears to her eyes. She was stunned yet not completely shocked that everyone knew she had her memories back. This seemed to have made things a lot easier as she was introduced to friends and children of those she called her pack. Soon everyone made their way to the dinner table where questions were asked and an entire recap of the last 500 years were made clear. Discussions poured over the delicious plating of various cooked meats and seasoned vegetables surrounding the table. Time passed and Simone soon found herself to be sitting in shock to hear the tales of the people around her. Her cup became heavy with wine as she sat and listened to the tales of the past while trying not to grow angry or sad at parts that were beyond control and needed to happen for growth.
She was told about the evil demon Naraku and his plans for domination and the jewel. Names were given and facts were established that made her cringe and wish she could go back for a day and kick some ass. She was explained Kagome's arrival and the impact that had on relationships especially between Sesshomaru and Inuyasha. She was slightly furious to learn of Sesshomaru's wicked ways but she for the most part was happy that this was all water under the bridge and that they seemed to be very much protective of each other now. She now sat recapping the facts one more time to fully understand the situation.
"-your selfless wish destroyed the jewel and answered a few silent wishes and wrong doings upon its existence…" Simone recapped as her hand gripped the wine glass tighter from the bullshit that she was hearing. However, the loving faces around her nodded at the facts making her take a sip of her wine. Sesshomaru sat to her right side with his arm draped on the back of her chair which hadn't gone unnoticed by anyone.
"I believe you…although the wine is definitely helping. No offense Kagome but your story is way more outlandish then mine."
Kagome held up her hand in understanding. "Trust me, I know."
"Now you have some explaining yourself onna."
Simone looked to see the Inutashio speak to her with a smile in his eyes. "Please enlighten me on your journey. The past one and the future one." He asked as everyone turned to her looking excitedly for her tale to finally have been told. She took in a deep breath and sighed. "Well where do I start?"
"The beginning is best."
Simone took a sip of her wine before she dived into the tale of her arrival. The tale of a more twisted Alice in Wonderland in which she started off as Alice and ended up becoming the Mad Hatter by the end of the story. She told about the dragon clan and her training before roaming to the Western territories. She told about her friendships and her history with Midoriko. She grew a little uncomfortable speaking of Inuyasha when he was a pup and how she delivered him from the womb and from the wrath of the Samurai.
"-I knew about you Inuyasha before anyone else did and I took that very personally. I made it my mission to protect you at all cost. Had I known you would find trouble all the time I wouldn't have been so diligent." She joked as Inuyasha simply looked away with reddened cheeks and a deeper respect for the woman across from him.
"So you knew about my son? And you managed to hide everything from everyone while still protecting at the same time." Inutashio recapped staring at her intensely. The air was stiff as people looked between them all.
Simone simply nodded unsure if they would be angry or not. She held her head up high though and looked at everyone in the face. She indeed managed to keep Izayoi's pregnancy quiet underneath the nose of her Lord and Lady Akimi while all three were in the same castle. Even she was shocked she managed so many feats and still managed to stay sane. "I did as I was politely asked to do. I admit I knew many secrets and I kept them all helping everyone work them out through time in a positive way." She stated as a matter of fact.
"A true bitch." Lady Akimi spoke smirking before taking a sip of her own wine.
Conversation flowed and they moved back to the den. Soon everyone grew tired and goodbyes where being shared and long hugs were given. Inuyasha had come over privately and gave a very deep hug to Simone which she returned with glossy eyes from unshed tears. "Stop your crying!" He muttered. Simone wiped her face. "I can't help it." She looked at him and nodded pulling herself together. "You're ears are as cute as I remember them." She stated laughingly as he stepped away from her.
"Oye! Sesshomaru come get your mate before she drowns herself." He yelled out causing Simone to blush. Simone growled. "We are still in negotiations on that Inuyasha."
"Feh. Whatever. Keep telling yourself that." He said as Sesshomaru came over and directed her towards a safer distance away from the endangered hanyou.
"Yes, I am curious." Lady Akimi spoke putting on her thick fur coat that was too thick than what the weather called for. "Have you come to take your place?" She asked knowingly.
Everyone stopped moving at this looking to the pair expectantly. Simone looked to the stoic expression on Sesshomaru's face before looking back at everyone. Sesshomaru and herself had yet to really cover the details of their newly resuscitated relationship. Plus there is this push for him to have someone beside him by the demon court. Maybe if she paid them a visit they would back off. Placing that thought in the back for later she spoke. "Time will tell won't it?"
The large pack realized that this was all that they were being given on the conversation. Everyone began to collect their children and say goodbyes. Lady Akimi spoke of meeting in France to catch up while others too were forming plans to really hang out with the returned Lady of the West. "You come to our house for dinner next." Kagome demanded helping her little guy put on his jacket before he was scooped up in her arms. The little boy who shared the same hair as his father and eyes with two ears on top hugged his mother tightly. Kagome was truly a wonder of the world, having given birth to children that had the same amount of demon blood in them as their father. Simone nodded making sure to kiss the child lightly and his mother on the cheek. "I promise I will be there. Ramen cup in hand." She playfully remarked as the couple moved out the door and it was closed.
Simone sighed in relief and fatigue before turning to truly face the man that was like a father to her. The man she owed so much to for his hard work and his role in her life. She could tell he knew there was a bit more to the story then what she was saying by the flow of her words and the small shift in Sesshomaru's posture upon the end of their tale. Simone knew it would be a matter of time before he cornered her about it. Inutashio watched his wife assist the help whom Simone recognized from her time in his castle and gave them a hug on the sly. Sesshomaru stood next to his father watching their wives converse and help clean up while chatting animatedly about various topics regarding the food.
"Finally, our family is complete."
"Hn." Sesshomaru spoke agreeing a hundred percent with his sire. Watching Simone do something so small and domesticated played with his mind and made old desires that lay hidden resurface. Izayoi soon released a yawn while strolling with the woman towards the den ready to retire for the night.
Simone glided into the bear hug of her previous Lord's arms and smiled. "I'm so glad your Japanese formalities have left you while in my presence."
Inutashio laughed at this before pulling back. "Only for my American daughter." He said before reaching for her wrists. Everyone watched him reconnect the ties of pack membership. To his surprise the crescent moon shape never vanished but simply went dormant and was alive now again on her flesh. Simone felt warmth and a great protection cover her from the mark.
"Now you, American girl. Go home and sleep. Enjoy the weekend." He spoke watching her laugh at his remark. Izayoi came about and escorted the pair towards the doors. Sesshomaru walked with Simone down the steps and assisted her into his vehicle. Once she was situated the car roared to life with the head beams shining brightly among the darkness and the sound of the night orchestra. They made their journey back to her home in the city of Tokyo. Simone sat lethargically and content in her seat along the journey. Her hand slowly made its way over to Sesshomaru's and entwined with his own. Colors outside of the window blurred and soon her eyes grew heavy.
Sesshomaru looked over to find the onna asleep in her seat. He looked to find their hands clasp together. Her grip was strong upon his making him smirk. He lifted her hand to his lips and kissed it gently before setting it down next to the gear stick. He looked to the dash noting the very late hour of the night. His foot stepped on the gas and soon he was speeding through the streets of Tokyo. His car came to crawl in the parking lot of her building. In a matter of minutes he had turned off the vehicle and made his way over to Simone's side and picking her up gracefully from her seat. He carried her gently as possible through the lobby and keyed in her floor's code on the elevator. He looked at the beauty wrapped in his arms, holding onto his shoulder blades while still heavily asleep. Sesshomaru knew from experience that only he and his father could do this with her otherwise the poor unfortunate soul that touched her would be at death's door.
The bell rung indicating their arrival and he made his way out onto the hallway. He walked to her door and put in the combination code. The door opened and he was once again welcomed by the scent of fresh cherries. Following the strength of the scent he found her bedroom and laid her down. She whimpered from the loss of heat and rolled over on her cool sheets. He helped her out of her shoes and covered her up with her white sheets. His hand combed through her curly tresses with adoration. He bent and nuzzling her neck affectionately. He murmured his joys and goodbyes before kissing her lightly and making his way to her living room.
Instinct sent warning bells to him that something was off. He sniffed her apartment but found nothing unusual. His eyes scanned everything finding nothing to be of any concern. He looked on the island and made sure her purse and keys were there before he made his way out of the apartment. He still felt uneasy and debated on leaving her. However, he had things to attend and decided to call Dante to see about his plans for that night.
"Hu?" Simone muttered before shifting in her slumber feeling uncomfortable and uneasy. Her body was warm despite the coolness of the sheets and the air being on. Her eyes began to slowly peel open before she decided she could not fight her awakening. Kicking the covers off irritably, she sat up slowly looking at the clock.
3:38 AM
Groaning in exasperation she made her way to the bathroom. After relieving herself, she washed her hands and stared at her wrinkled state in the mirror. Her makeup was smudged on her face and she still had on the dress she wore to the dinner. She looked at her toothbrush and decided she would at least fix that small problem. Once this task was done she went towards the living room. Her eyes searched the darkness for the light switch. Having successfully found the switch she looked at her clutch and keys on the counter. Her eyes went to the package she left on the table and she went towards it with curiosity beating within her.
She looked at the little black package and opened it slowly. Her eyes glinted with impatience and excitement seeing a silver velvet case inside of the box. She opened the box and gasped at what she saw. Her petite fingers came up and roamed the beautiful encrusted jeweled accessory inside. There before her eyes sat a beautiful silver necklace with diamonds in the shape of a crescent moon. The tag was attached to the necklace and she read the description before her eyes nearly popped out of her head. She swallowed thickly looking at the jeweled necklace and couldn't believe she was holding a $76k worth of platinum and diamonds. She looked to see a note in the case and she quickly picked it up and read.
Courting begins now.
"Oh shit!" She said in disbelief. She shook her head with a smile on her face. She quickly ran to her room to look in the mirror and place on the necklace. It shined among the lighting flooding in from her window into her room. She touched it and turned marveling at the gift. "You have such a way with words." She muttered thinking of the Inu demon. Simone suddenly froze. Her head whipped to the door and then towards her window before going back again. Her mind calculated with trained senses focusing on door of her condo.
Click
Her body went instantly cold and her fist tightened. She quickly turned towards her bedroom door and moved behind it. Men and demons were felt coming towards her in a rush and were waiting outside in the hall. Her heartbeat picked up rapidly and her breaths began to slow on instinct. Swallowing quickly she moved behind the door of her bedroom and waited. Sounds could be heard making its way in her direction. Quickly covering her scent she waited patiently for her attackers. Her eyes grew wide seeing the door widen and a dark figure walk through.
Quickly before he could register what was happening, Simone came at him from behind and put him in a choke hold. Using her legs she kicked him in the back of the knees feeling him buckle and fall down. Very quickly she punched the side of his neck causing him to go instantly asleep. She looked up to see another guy come at her and she instantly began fighting him hand to hand. She realized it was a demon as he swiped at her and cut her across her stomach with his claws.
"Ow!" she yelled in pain. Angrily she kicked out at him and hit him on his sternum. She pushed him directly into the wall putting a hole in it before she used her hands and broke his legs. The demon screamed in agony with eyes glowing red and clawing for her but he couldn't move. Simone was breathing heavily looking over the demon for clues. He had an insignia of a scorpion with two crossbones that were tattooed on his arm making her gasp. The sounds of feet coming caught her attention and she flexed her aura to sense them before she made a mad dash to her kitchen.
Upon her arrival the entrance door was pushed wider as another guy comes in and begins shooting dart like weapons at her. She dodged ducking behind the island. Her long dress wrapped around her legs while she crouched down protecting herself with her arms. She peeked immediately looking at the remaining men in her living room. Things were being knocked over making her blood boil. Turning she looked to see what weapons she had available. Seeing something of promise, she stood and went after her beautiful kitchen knives. Quicker than the guy could aim, she immediately pulled back her arm and tossed the knives at her attacker. She watched as they made contact into his chest before his eyes rolled up and he fell. She kept a knife as a weapon and held it in the other hand.
Seeing her purse and keys she immediately ran towards it and grabbed it before running out of the door. She ran out into the hallway before turning around and unleashing a powerful fire attack on the other attacker running in her direction. She watched as he fell to the floor shaking visibly from the burns running across his flesh and yelling in agony. Suddenly, the elevator door rang alarming her. She immediately headed towards the stair entry way. She could hear the sound of cursing and two other men yelling making her adrenaline run higher. She cursed hating the fact that she was limited on power usage because she hadn't used them in so long. Even from that little stunt she felt drained accompanied with the fact she had got very little sleep. She looked up to see the demons jumping to get to her and she frowned. Jumping over the rails she opted to fall and catch herself using flight. Her feet landed and carried her into the lobby with her bare feet tapping along the titled floor with the guards already prepared to go after the problem. Simone looked relieved as she saw Dante pass her to confront the two men chasing her. He made contact and ran his claws deep into the chests of the men who violated several human and demon laws. The sounds of other residents in the building could be heard yelling and making phone calls to the authorities.
Pop
A loud noise was made causing everyone to scramble in search of the sound. Simone looked to her right to see the guys burst out of the elevator before being taken out by the security. The alarm was sounding off making her ears ring from the sheer sound raising her heartbeat even more into a panic. Some of the men pulled out weapons and her eyes widened in fear. Guns were not anything hand to hand could stop. She could disarm a few but she was rusty and above all, fists did not stop bullets.
"Run Simone!" Dante's voice rang over the sounds of gun fire.
Simone looked up feeling to need to help but Dante's look as he clawed through a demon made her consider his request. Using her powers, she used the water from the fountain in the corner to freeze and create an ice barrier while some ice sickles were used as projectiles. Some demons escaped and began firing like crazy in her direction. She looked in her hand noticing she still had the knife. Quickly she threw it and it hit a guy who fell to the ground in a heap. A bullet skimmed her cheek causing her to gasp.
"Run!" Dante commanded again after slicing through a guy with his claws.
Needing no extra encouragement she scrambled for her phone before running and ducking low towards the plexiglass entrance of the building. She ran onto the sidewalk of Tokyo with bare feet and her dress blowing in the wind at her speed. Very little people were on the street however they still gawked and screamed at what they were seeing. She knew she must have been a sight to see and her light flesh wound on her stomach didn't make it better. Her hands shakily began dialing Sesshomaru's number while running trying to find a safe route towards the safest place she knew. Her chest heaved and burned as more of the late night crowd looked at her strangely before the sound of the call going through was heard.
Ring, Ring, Ring
She made her way to the building where the parking garage was and pushed herself to make it to the entrance. Beads of sweat slid down the side of her face as she shook trying to get out her badge from her purse. She could feel them getting closer and quite frankly she wouldn't outrun them if they were demons. The sight of Shugurai's guards making routine rounds through the garage brought relief and fear into her heart.
Could demons take a bullet?
Her head whipped back to see a two men run down with something in their hands aimed at her. She looked forward again at the guards as they immediately jumped into defense mode and began locking down everything including the doors and the garage area. Her feet ran down the slope hoping to get to the access doors. Suddenly the click of the phone was heard putting her call through.
"Where are you." He asked clearly angered with underlying base in his voice.
"Offic-" She managed before something struck her in her neck making her voice hitch. Her clutch dropped from her side. She managed to run into a guard feeling him pull her into the office building doors. She spun around however to give them a taste of her attitude, throwing a powerful fire attack to strike the two men. The sound of painful wails and bodies falling echoed in the garage behind her. Skin sizzled and burned on the pavement of the garage. She was suddenly pushed harshly into the building and the doors closed immediately behind her. Her vision instantly became blurry with the world spinning round her. She reached up with her right hand to grasp what had planted itself in her neck and winced at the feel of her jerking it out. A medical dart lay in her hands. Everything spun out of control and her dress was clinging to her body like a second skin from the perspiration and the blood she apparently loss from the clawed attack. Blood pumping through her veins drummed loudly consuming all sound around her. Suddenly, a very loud angry growl was heard from outside and a powerful recognizable aura brushed against her in concern. It shook the facility and made her instincts scream to get to the source of that sound.
Her throat constricted and she immediately reached towards the walls for support. The sound of men asking her questions and making calls were heard but none of them lay a hand on her. Her left hand shook along the wall as she clutched the small device tightly hearing the sound of disconnection. Bile rose in her throat making her gag from whatever that her body was injected with. She looked down into her right hand at the object with disgust and rage.
"Cheap trick." She muttered before she tilted over falling face forward on the floor. Strong hands caught her and she was turned around to face blinding light from the ceiling and colors of silver flashing in her vision.
