Mentor Ji
"Jayden you can't be seriously considering going to face Deker by yourself?!" Kevin shouted
"I'm not considering it. I am going to face to Deker, the decision has been made." Jayden answered
"What is going on?" I ask Mike and Mia as Kevin and Jayden are glaring at each other and Antonio is activating the Gap sensor maps. "Where is Emily?" I noticed that Jayden's fists tightened and go white.
"Emily was kidnapped by Deker. He's holding her hostage until Jayden gives him the ultimate fight tomorrow" Mia explained.
"I can't locate Emily on the map.'' Antonio tells us with a defeated tone. The glimmer of hope in Jayden's eyes is replaced by steel determination.
"Well that settles it. He gets what he wants." Jayden starts walking towards his room and is almost down the hall when Kevin yells "What about the Sealing Symbol? What about Master Xandred? If you and Deker have the ultimate duel he could kill you and Xandred will win?"
"You don't think I know that? You don't think I realise what the risks are? But he has Emily and is doing god only knows what to her right now! I can't just sit here and hope that he'll release her when he realises that I'm not going to show up. Because he won't -He'll kill her! I promised her I would protect her and I failed." His shouting is barely audible at the end.
"I can't do this without her Kevin. Not the sealing symbol, or Master Xandred or anything. I need her with me. I'm going to face Deker and save Emily and nothing will change my mind. Excuse me" as Jayden walks to his room I notice that there's a determination and resolve in his voice that I haven't heard since his father went to his final battle with Xandred.
The other rangers quickly disperse around the house; Kevin goes outside to vent his frustrations to Mia who followed him and Mike goes to help Antonio locate Emily's signal or location.
Jayden only leaves his room to train and eat. He doesnt look at anyone or try to start a conversation. Eventually the day of the ultimate duel arrives. The rangers wish him luck and words of encouragement, tryong to forget that this may be the last time that they see Jayden.
"Remember your training and bring Emily home safely. I'm very proud of the ranger and man you have become" I tell him. A final nod and he walks away from the Shiba house with the rangers and I standing at the door watching him long after he disappears from our sight.
Jayden
As expected Deker is waiting for me at clearing when I arrive.
"Red Ranger" he greets me formally like this is a business meeting
"Deker" I respond in the same manner. I quickly look around and see that Emily isnt here.
"Where is Emily?" I grit through my teeth.
"Safe in the forrest. Do not worry Red Ranger, no harm has come to her."
He walks towards me while unsheathes his sword "Shall we begin?"
Hours have passed and neither one of us will show weakness to the other. We attack and block,attack and block until we both strike with such force we are thrown to opposites end of a clearing inside the forrest I hadnt realised we'd moved too. We both struggle to get back on our feet, using our swords as stands when I hear muffled yelling from behind Deker. Emily is gagged, bound and tied to tree behind him. There is dried blood on her forehead and her clothers are ripped and dirtied. Our eyes meet and I'm overwhelmed by the fear in them then surprised that the fear isnt for herslef - its fear for me.
Fuelled by anger I attack Deker with energy I didnt have before seeing Emily. He struggles to keep pace with my attacks until he misses and is sent back to the ground again. I stand over him waiting for him to stand up and continue fighting when he says
"Go ahead Red Ranger. End my suffering." I left my sword about my head to deliver the final blow when all of a sudden there is a gust of wind, large enough to knock me of my feet and Deker is gone. I gently get up so I don't aggravate my injuries and walkover to Emily.
"Hang on Emily" I tell her as I untie the rag around her mouth.
"Jayden are you ok?" the fear in her eyes tells me how hard that fight must have been for her to watch.
"I'm fine." She looks at me sceptically. "Nothing a bit of time and symbol power won't fix." I answer
"But what about you Em? Did he hurt you?" I help her stand up after untying her hands and rub the rope burns on her wrists.
"I'm fine Jayden. Nothing a bit of time and symbol power won't fix" she jokes. I laugh softly with her until I get a feeling that makes my body tense.
"He's coming back. Emily you need to go into the forest and go back to the Shiba house." I tell her
"No I'm not leaving you."
"Em you need to go and be safe. I need to know that you're safe."
"But what about you?" she asks
"I'll be fine" she's slightly annoyed by that. "I promise that I'll return home, I'll come back for you." She doesn't look happy about leaving but I can see that she has accepted it.
"Promise me you'll come home." she begs.
"I promise." I gently grab her chin, tilt her face upwards and kiss her softly. Reluctantly we seperate and just stare into each others eyes for a moment.
"I love you Jayden. See you at home" she quickly pecks my cheek and runs into the forrest before I can respond "See you there" I whisper to the forrest.
