Patricia's P.O.V.
"Hey Piper, I have to ask you a question," I said as soon as we left Phoebe to wash the dishes.
"Yeah?"
"I need help with my classes, apparently I'm behind in all of them."
"Can't you get a tutor for that?"
"I have oneā¦" I started and looked down.
"What's wrong with her?" Piper pressed and I sighed.
"She's a major bitch," I admitted and Piper laughed. "Piper, please don't make me beg."
"Okay, no problem," she said and I smiled before enveloping her in a hug.
"Thank you!"
"So who was she anyways?"
"Lexie."
"Lexie, why does that name sound so familiar?" Piper suddenly froze and frowned.
"What?"
"She's Lexie Campbell, right?"
"I don't know, I think so, why?"
"Because, that's Missy Campbell's little sister."
"Please tell me you're lying," I begged as I glared at her.
"I'm afraid not," Piper responded and I let out a small laugh.
"I can't believe I didn't realize that," I said with a roll of my eyes.
"I know, Lexie is like her mini-me." Just then the door opened and Grams walked in, her hands full of bags. Piper and I immediately walked over to her and grabbed the groceries.
"Thanks," Grams said as we set everything on the counter.
"You were out late," Piper commented.
"Traffic," Grams countered and smiled at us.
"So how was your day?"
"Good," we replied in unison. I looked into the bag and curiously picked up a small bottle.
"What's this?" I asked as I held up the blood-red liquid in the air.
"I'm working on a recipe," Grams replied simply and took the bottle away from me.
"So Piper, do you want to help me out today? I have a test tomorrow."
"You do?"
I nodded and smiled nervously. "I guess I forgot to mention that..."
Piper sighed and looked at me before smiling.
"No worries, it'll be fine," she said and I smiled.
"Ugh! I quit!" I exclaimed a few hours later as I collapsed on Piper's bed.
"It's not that bad," she assured me and I just glared at her in return.
"No, Piper I suck at this."
"No you don't-"
"Yes I do!" I snapped and buried my face in a pillow. "I quit, I'm going to flunk this class." Piper grabbed her pillow and whacked me with it.
"Ow! Hey!"
"That couldn't even hurt," Piper said with a laugh. "And you're not going to fail, I told you I was going to help you and I will." She pushed the algebra book in front of me. "Now, what is the answer?"
I took one look at the book and squinted before looking back at her.
"Piper?"
"Hm?"
"I can't read that."
"You're not even trying."
"I trying, trust me I am, but I don't get it." Piper frowned and sat next to me. "What don't you get?"
"What is the point of using letters in a freakin' math problem?"
"To torture us kids," Piper said sarcastically and I cracked a smile. We spent the next hour and a half working on the homework until I understood what I was doing.
"This is pointless," I commented. "We're not going to need this in real life."
"That's true, but at least it makes us look smart." I rolled my eyes.
"It's still a waste of time," I mumbled.
"Well, by this time tomorrow I guarantee that you'll ace that test," Piper said.
"Really?" I asked doubtfully,
"Really."
"I hope you're right."
"Of course I am. So are you planning to do any after school stuff?" I only shrugged.
"I'm not sure, I like acting and everything-"
"Then you should try for the play."
"I don't know, it doesn't seem like my type of thing."
"How will you know unless you try," Piper asked and I looked at her suspiciously.
"Why are you asking?" I asked.
"No reason," Piper replied as she looked away.
"I know I haven't been living with you for my whole life but I'm not stupid, I know you're lying."
"I just thought that you should do it, for fun."
"Just for fun?" I pressed. "Nothing else?"
"Nothing else."
"Then I'll think about it," I told her.
"They're having tryout next week," Piper suddenly blurted.
"Next week?" Piper nodded and ran a hand through her hair nervously.
"This is going to be a lot of work," I moaned.
Phoebe's P.O.V.
I opened the door and crept into my sister's rooms. Just as I expected, they were all asleep. I yawned and rubbed the sleep out of my eyes before picking up my cell and using it as a light to guide me. Piper's laptop was on the nightstand that was between her and Prue's bed.
Silent as a mouse, I walked to the nightstand and gently picked up the laptop and left started to leave the room when I tripped. I hissed in pain and froze as I heard someone stir. Leaving the room as fast as I could, I scampered to my room and closed the door before crawling into bed. pressing the power button, I held my breath as the screen flickered to life and went to home screen. My eyes flickering to my door, I finally relaxed and logged into my email.
One new email, the screen read.
I froze as I heard a sound from outside but quickly dismissed it as me being paranoid. Turning my attention back to the screen, I clicked on the email and smiled as a message popped up.
Hi Phoebe, it read.
I haven't been able to talk to you. How are things?
I paused, then started typing quickly, my hands flying over the keyboard.
I'm good, I replied.
I miss you so much.
A few minutes after sending it, I got a reply.
I miss you too, it read.
I'll see you soon, I promise. Now get some sleep and I'll talk to you tomorrow.
Okay, I replied as I let out another yawn.
Goodnight, I love you dad. 3
I love you too.
I smiled and closed the laptop before returning it to Piper's room. I felt bad for not telling them about what I was doing, but I knew they wouldn't understand, he wasn't all that bad. I instantly fell asleep as my head hit the pillow.
Prue's P.O.V.
I sat in study hall, mindlessly drawing in my notebook. The room was mostly quiet except for the occasional whispers from the back of the room. My homework was already finished for the day and I had nothing to do. Just then the bell rang, signaling the end of the day. I grabbed my things and started out the door when I suddenly tripped and dropped everything.
"Damn it," I mumbled as I bent over to pick up my things. A hand reached out and I looked up to see David smiling at me.
"I think this belongs to you," he said and I smiled back.
"Thanks," I said as he held open the door for me. "So where do you want to go?"
"Well, it's a beautiful day out, why not the beach?" I frowned slightly and gave a small laugh. "I don't have a swimsuit," I replied as I dug through my bag, searching for my keys.
"Then we can stop by your house first and get it. Your folks wouldn't mind, would they?"
"No, I don't think they would," I said unenthusiastically.
"Unless you don't want to," David continued as he caught on.
"If you want to go then I'll go," I replied stubbornly before pulling out of the parking lot. We drove in silence for a few minutes before he finally spoke.
"Are you okay? You seem tense."
I do?
"I'm not tense," I told him. "It's been a long day, that's all."
"I'm sure," he replied sarcastically.
"I'm serious, I had like three tests today and I didn't even get to study for them."
"That must suck," he sympathized.
"It does!" I complained and he laughed. "It's not funny!"
"Of course not," he replied as I pulled into the driveway.
"Where are we?"
"You wanted a tour around here, didn't you?" I asked.
"Yeah but-"
"Noting's better than a walk in the city," I informed him and we got out of the car.
The next few hours we walked around the large city. Suddenly, I felt a rain drop. I looked up to the sky and noticed that the sky had become a dark shade of gray. I also realized that I didn't have an umbrella, or even a hood for that matter.
"I think it's going to rain," I yelled to David.
"What?" he yelled back, unable to hear me from all the noises around us. I couldn't blame him, I could barely hear myself.
"I said, I think it's going to-" I started but was cut off as suddenly loud thunder was heard and I jumped as it started to pour. Everything became a blur from them, people pushed past each other as they tried to escape the rain. I grabbed David's hand and as he geld his sweater over the both of us and we bolted to the car. Once inside I let out a sigh of relief and started laughing.
"That was interesting," I commented as I started the car.
"I enjoyed it, even if we had to cut it short," he replied. I squinted out the window and sighed.
"It's so blurry out there," I complained as I stopped the car. In front of me was a line of traffic and something told me that I wouldn't be reaching home for at least another two hours.
"So where do you live?"
"Oh, you can just drop me off at school," he said and I looked at him in surprise.
"Why, I can just drop you off-"
"I live right next to the school, it's not a problem."
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah, it's fine," he insisted and I shrugged before starting the drive again. By the time we had reached the school, the rain had stopped completely.
"Did you enjoy your trip?" I asked him.
"It couldn't have gotten any better," he replied and I blushed.
"Well, I'll see you tomorrow," I said and he nodded.
"Yeah, tomorrow," he replied. Before I could understand what was going on, he suddenly leaned in and kissed me. I looked at him in pure shock.
"See you tomorrow," he said simply and just like that he was gone. For the next few moments I watched him leave then I started up the car and went home, a smile threatening to break out at any moment.
