As the Skywalker family was led out, Padme said,
"Leia, follow my lead. Luke, stick to your father's method."
"And if it doesn't work?" Leia asked.
"They always do." Luke and Padme answered in unison as they moved past Obi-Wan. The Jedi Master's eyes widened when he saw his Padawan, the Senator of Naboo and the mysterious twins all chained up. As his eyes followed the twins, he was shocked to see Padme and Anakin's images appear over the twins. As they were led to their poles, their order being Anakin, Luke, Padme and Leia. As they walked, Padme slipped something into her mouth and Leia copied her movments. As Anakin was chained, Obi-Wan remarked,
"I was beginning to wonder if you got my message."
"I retransmitted it as you requested, Master." Anakin said, "Then we decided to come and rescue you." Luke, who was being chained up next to his father, smacked his forhead. He knew what was coming, Leia had done it to him and Han after all. Obi-Wan looked up before quipping,
"Good job."
"He is a lot like you." Luke told his sister.
"Quiet Luke!" Leia cried as she was chained. As the chains were lifted, the Separist council came out. Poggle made some noises and a gate opened. Several beasts were led out. "This is starting to make the Death Star look pleasant." Leia said. Padme and Luke chuckled lightly.
"I've got a bad feeling about this." Anakin stated as Padme and Leia began messing with their cuffs. As the beasts approached, the two Skywalker women managed to get their cuffs off while the three men stared at the beasts.
"Relax, just concentrate." Obi-Wan instructed.
"What about Padme?" Anakin asked.
"And Leia?" Luke added just to sound normal. As they spoke, Leia and Padme began to use their cuffs to climb the poles.
"They seem to be on top of things." Obi-Wan said as he turned back to the beasts. Luke and Anakin turned as Leia and Padme reached the top of their respective poles.
"Did you know about this?" Anakin asked Luke. Luke shrugged,
"I knew they had a plan, just not the specifics." Obi-Wan had just managed to escape as Luke finished speaking while Anakin jumped up as the beast attacking him reached him. Luke followed his father's lead and jumped onto the same beast. The beast's movement caused the chains holding the Skywalker men to release. Padme, on the other hand, was using her chain to bat the beast attacking her away while Leia was preparing to help her.
"Careful Padme!" Leia cried as the beast got closer. Yes, Leia had her lightsaber hidden in her boot but she couldn't take it out yet. She was the only one with a weapon after all. Padme cried out in pain as the beast scratched her. Leia winced. That was the same place her mother had been injured before and she could see the scar had come back and was once again open. "Padme!" She screamed.
"I'm fine!" Padme grunted. Obi-Wan continued dodging the beast attacking him and Anakin fell off his own beast, being dragged behind as Luke tried to help him while not falling.
"Anakin!" Luke cried.
"Focus!" Anakin yelled back. The beast attacking Padme climbed up her pole again, only this time, the Senator swung down and kicked it. She began to climb up again, reaching into the Force at the same instant Leia did, helping her up. Obi-Wan dodged his pole as it was pushed over. Finally, the beast dragging Anakin stopped. Obi-Wan then attacked a Geonosisian with it's own weapon as Anakin approached the beast his son was struggling to stay onto. While Padme and Leia fiddled with their chains, Obi-Wan attacked the Geonosisian who was then squashed by the beast following the Jedi Master. Anakin finally managed to get back onto the beast, whipping his chain around it's neck while Luke grabbed it's skin to stay on. "Hold on!" Anakin cried as he tried to settle the beast. Obi-Wan attacked the beast who attacked him as Padme and Leia managed to get their chains completley off. They looked at the beast that attacked Padme as Anakin and Luke's beast attacked it, knocking it to the sand. "Jump!" Anakin cried. Padme stood and jumped as Luke rolled back slightly, his mother landing in between himself and Anakin. Padme kissed Anakin's cheek in gratitude.
"Come on, Leia!" Luke cried. Leia followed her mother's lead and landed behind her brother.
"Thanks." Leia said. Anakin nodded and cried,
"Yah!" The beast took off. Obi-Wan threw his weapon at the remaining attacking beast, getting a direct hit. The beast howled before it grabbed the weapon and broke it. Obi-Wan's eyes widened and he began to run again.
"Get to Obi-Wan!" Luke cried. Anakin obliged and Obi-Wan hopped on behind Leia. Suddenly, droids rolled out of the corridors.
"Not surprising." Leia muttered as they all caught sight of the droids surrounding them. Suddenly, a purple lightsaber activated on the balcony followed by several others.
"Leia, you're on." Luke said. Leia nodded and jumped off the beast. As she was in the air, the youngest Skywalker summoned her lightsaber into her hands and activated it. The sapphire blade hummed to life.
"She had that the whole time?!" Anakin and Obi-Wan cried in unison.
"She always makes herself look vulnerable before she attacks." Luke smiled.
"Reminds me of Padme." Anakin said.
"Yes...it does." Obi-Wan muttered. Leia began to attack the droids surrounding them, effectively freeing her family.
"Come on!" Padme cried as she reached out a hand. Leia ran and grabbed her mother's hand and was pulled back onto the beast. As they stopped, Luke summoned his emerald lightsaber he had skillfully hid in his boot like Leia before they were captured while Anakin and Obi-Wan were thrown two other lightsabers.
"You had yours too?" Anakin cried at his son. Luke shrugged,
"I learned from my sister." Anakin cut his and Obi-Wan's chains when the beast they were on was knocked over. The technical older Jedi began to block shots while Padme blasted at droids while Leia backed her up.
"Just like old times, huh?" Leia smirked at her mother.
"Seems a bit too much like old times." Padme smirked back. The two then ran towards a smaller beast and got on while Anakin and Luke took out the droids until they noticed the brunettes on the beast. Sharing a look, the two ran over and jumped onto the cart the beast was pulling. Obi-Wan looked over at just that moment. The four were so similar and looked so alike, he couldn't help but think they were a real family. He then remembered back when Padme had yelled at the council about how they caused the future to be terrible and how they seperated her and Anakin's children. Luke and Leia. It then hit Obi-Wan like a giant Force wave. Luke and Leia Lars were really Luke and Leia Skywalker. Anakin and Luke, on the other hand, were blocking shots heading for Padme and Leia as said women attacked droids from the front. They continued on for a while until they were knocked over. Padme cried out.
"You alright?" Leia asked, worried over her mother's old scar acting up.
"Fine." Padme grunted as she stood and ran to Anakin and Luke with Leia behind her. Padme went into the vehicle while the twins and Anakin protected her.
"This is what you call a diplomatic solution?" Anakin teased.
"No." Padme smiled.
"We call it aggressive negotiations." The time travelers all answered in unison. Anakin smiled as they turned back to battle. Obi-Wan's beast suddenly moved to attack and the Jedi Master attacked as well, killing it. Artoo-Detoo, on the other hand, rolled in and got Threepio's head. The Jedi fought the droids as Artoo found Threepio's body and began to reattach the droid's head. The battle continued when suddenly the droids stopped.
"I don't like this." Leia said as she looked around.
"You and me both, Lei." Luke muttered as Dooku cried,
"Master Windu! You have fought gallantly. Worthy of recognition in the archives of the Jedi Order."
"What's he playing at?" Leia whispered.
"Now, it is finished." Dooku continued, "Surrender and your lives will be spared."
"We will not be hostages to be bartered, Dooku." Windu declared. Leia smiled.
I knew there was a reason we liked that guy. She thought.
"Then," Dooku said, "I'm sorry, old friend."
Yeah right. The time travelers all thought as one. The droids suddenly took aim again. The Jedi readied their lightsabers when Padme looked up.
"Look!" She pointed out as several ships began to circle around and shoot the droids. The ships landed and clone troopers came out. The time travelers stiffened before following the Jedi onto ships, the Skywalkers and Obi-Wan on one as the Clone Wars began.
And there's the chapter! Man you would not believe how hard it was to find a video of this battle. I only found two good ones and even they didn't have the complete ending so I had to follow a transcript that I'm not even sure was correct.
