Chapter 11

I passed through the entryway with Hibari close at my heels. He wasn't as clumsy as me, so when I paused without warning he reacted quickly and stopped before bumping into me. I couldn't help it. His home was nothing like I had imagined. It was beautiful. "Wow!" A gasp escaped me. A small hall lead further into the home. I stepped slowly down the hall taking in everything. The area opened up into two spaces. The living room was on the left side and held a small brown couch and bookcase. No television or any media-like things.

The walls of the room were washed in a mahogany red glow. It complimented the beige carpeting. Immediately I felt awed. It seemed so homey and comfortable. I saw a pillow and blanket flung carelessly on said couch. There was a small round window off to the right of it. It hardly let in any sunlight. Making it seem like a hidden cave rather than a living room. There were decorative yellow-leafed plants placed on a red coffee table next to the bookcase. I vaguely wondered what type of books this kind of guy had interest in reading. Probably business textbooks or instruction books for fighting styles. The better to learn new ways of biting people to death.

I continued on to the left side, he had a fairly modern styled kitchen compared to the living room that seemed old fashioned. Silver glinted and shined throughout the space reflecting light against the appliances. He had a silver dining table in the middle of the room. Along with two matching dining chairs. The entire room felt whitewashed. White cabinets, white fridge, white everything. It almost hurt the eyes. It was so untouched I wondered if he ever ate here.

I retraced my steps back to the living room where I saw an open doorway that led to another room. My hand absently trailed along the wall as I explored. It was an archway type thing. You could tell there should have been something there to divide it. Like one of those sliding doors often seen in old style japanese homes. "There's no door?" I asked him. He simply shrugged and told me it was in his way. Right.. that explains it. He probably ripped out the door for being annoying. I noticed him looking at me expectantly. Not sure what that was about I kept going. It was his bedroom.

The carpet and walls here were the same as the living room. mahogany and beige. He had an huge king size bed. It could easily fit five or six people. Four white pillows carefully fluffed and resting against the wooden headboard. His sheets were a deep blue color. There was no blanket though. A large brown wardrobe was on the right side of the bed. On the left side was a sliding glass door. It looked shattered. That strange material used to make things intentionally blurry and unable to see through. Wait, thats not the bathroom??

I quickened my pace and flung the door to the side. Yup.. oh my god. "Your bathroom, is inside your bedroom?" I couldn't hold back the distaste in my tone. He smirked slightly and said a simple "Mhm." Well that's just great. I knew he was a light sleeper, so if I needed to use that room during the night. I couldn't even imagine what he would do to me. "Oh just so you know I'm a-"

"A very light sleeper, yeah yeah." I finished for him. He lowered his gaze at me. "And how do you know that?" his voice held danger. Crap! I had messed up again. I really needed to bite my tongue. "Uh.. lucky guess?" I didn't sound convincing at all. He obviously didn't buy it. Unlike Reborn, I knew he wasn't the type to let my comment slide. Proving me right he uncovered a tonfa and pointed it at me. "Tell me." He ordered. Slowly herding me closer to the bed step by step.

"Hey don't do anything crazy." I told him. My knees ran into something soft and I fell back onto his bed. Shoot I'm trapped... Hey, this is so soft! My voice was lost as I lay on this mattress. It felt like memory foam, it was bliss. "Ah! This is amazing!" I said aloud as I stretched out. Hard metal prodded at my stomach. I looked back up at him. He looked a little dumbfounded by my sudden distraction. Yet he recovered quickly just as always. "Don't change the subject." He was really freaking mad.

"Sorry.." I was a little scared I admit. Trapped on his bed alone with him in his house. His look saying he was going to kill me any second. "Don't lie to me again." His voice was calm but his hands were shaking. "Really it was luck! I mean what else could you really say in this kind of situation right?" I laughed nervously. I really didn't want to 'flame on' again and wreck this nice house. "Then why do you know my name?" he spit at me. Pinning me down tighter with his weapon.

I blanked. "Uh, well, everyone calls you Hibari... so..?" I studdered out in confusion. He rolled his eyes at me. "When I saved you from falling to your death. On a whim, by the way.. you called my name." he drolled out with extreme sarcasm. I'll feign ignorance.

"I don't know what your talking about." I told him, collecting myself. My facial muscles relaxed into the usual blank mask I wore in self defense.

It only served to further his rage. "Is that so?" an evil smile spread across his face.

"Then it's the hard way." He raised his tonfa from my stomach, and held it above his head. Poised to strike, I squeezed my eyes shut awaiting a blow, that never came. I heard the sharp clatter of metal hitting ground. I looked toward the sound in confusion. He had thrown his tonfa away across the room. He withdrew his second weapon tossing it aside carelessly as well. It clattered to the floor next to the first one. He has good aim to get them so close together. A usless and arrant thought.

His diciplinary jacket was the next to go. Sliding it off his arms with ease it fluttered to the floor next to his feet. What the heck? Is he stripping? No that was stupid. He wouldn't do that. He probably didn't want to damage it in his assault. I had already done enough to it after all. Though this one seemed untattered, and fresh. I wondered if his wardrobe was filled with nothing but committee jackets. That seemed likely. The image of him hoarding thousands of like clothing for some reason made me want to laugh. I bit my lip to prevent any sound.

"What is so amusing at a time like this?" He whispered dangerously. His eyes were locked onto mine. Those steel grey eyes filled with heat. I couldn't look away even though I tried. I couldn't tell what he was planning. That look in his eyes, it was full of some kind of desire. Maybe he really wanted to kill me. I could feel my body begin to burn under that gaze.

His hand slowly reached for my throat. I felt the burning reach my face and neck. I had a hard time breathing from the effort of holding back whatever power was inside me. I didn't want to do this. I turned my head to the side and whispered, "Wait, stop!" I felt that familar ache in my eyes as I glanced at him from under my lashes. If he attacked me I didn't know if I could hold myself back. I decided to keep my eyes firmly shut, refusing to look at the skylark.

This ability seemed to flare up randomly with varying degree of intensity. "Finally going to talk?" he asked me his hand still positioned to grab me any moment. "I don't want to destroy anything, your home is really nice you know." God I sound like a squeeky mouse.

"Where are you little mouse!"

That man's voice filled my mind. Why did I have to have a thought like that. Trudging up terrible memories, wouldn't help me quell this feeling. I felt moisture run down the side of my face and pool in my ear. I'm so pathetic! And that feels gross!

His hand found my throat in an instant. "What the hell are you doing?" he yelled to me. The guardian was acting like I was the one trying to choke him."You're the one attacking me!" I yelled back at him. I was frustrated with this exhausting day. His new mood swing making it worse. "What's wrong with you! You're so violent and pissy!" His hand tightened around me cutting off my words.

"Oh so you prefer simple-minded herbivores, like Yamamoto Takeshi?" His voice was filled with venom. What the hell? I slapped his hand away so I could speak. "What the hell? What are you jealous?" I asked him sarcastically. It wasn't a serious question after all that was impossible for him. The prefect's answer came without hesitation, shocking me to my core. "Yes. Extremely."

"What..Why?" I asked incredulously. He gave me a blank look and said "You are my prey." Like that was the most obvious thing in the world. He stood up straight and crossed his arms. I took that opportunity to sit up. Not wanting to be pinned to the bed any longer, even though I wanted to lay there for the rest of my life. I felt anger surge inside me. This freaking guy!

"I'm not a toy you can play with until your bored!" I screamed at him. I had already been classified as such a thing once by another man. A distant memory caused a phantom itch to rise, I reached a hand around my back to rub the branded scar. He was watching my every move closely. Knowing he had seen it all, he probably knew what was there. I looked down at his feet, unwilling to meet his eyes.

It was a mistake, I gave him an opening to attack again, and he took it. He grabbed my occupied hand by the wrist roughly, lifting me off the bed and throwing me to the floor. I landed on my stomach. "By the way.. I didn't give you permission to touch my bed." He said mildly, walking away and into the bathroom. It was going to be so much fun living with this guy.

He came out a few seconds later, I stayed where he had thrown me. "Why are you still laying there, get up." he still sounded pissed. "Well, you're always pinning me down somewhere, I figured I'd do half the work for you." I said sarcastically.

A white towel was thrown on my head. "Take a shower, you stink." With that gracious compliment he left the bedroom. Leaving me alone. Well he wasn't lying, I hadn't had a proper cleaning for a few days. After a few more minutes I did get up, punching his bed a few times in defiance I made my way into his tiny bathroom. Sliding the door open.

It really was compact. A small white toilet on the left side, in the middle was a small sink with a cuboard underneath and a mirror/medicine cabniet on the wall above it. On the right side, a small green marbled shower with, of course, no freaking curtain. It did have a high tub line to prevent water escape. A silver bar for a towel rack hung high above the bathroom door. There was no way I could reach that. I did spot a little stepstool. That made me feel a small twinge of smugness. I guess shorty jerk can't reach it either..

It hardly mattered but, any small victory right? I took a moment to be nosey about the contents of his cabinets, but was dissapointed. There was nothing in either one. Sighing, I looked at myself in the mirror. There were some old scrapes, bruises and patches of dirt on my face. I really did look terrible. My hair was sticking out in places. Also for the first time I noticed the condition of the clothes I was wearing. "You damn jerk!" I screamed out loud to a certain someone.

The borrowed shirt was ripped and pieces were burnt off. Way too much of my skin was showing. Likewise the skin tight pants had a ton of holes and scorch marks. He just let me walk through the entire town looking like this?? No, not just him! Freaking Yamamoto too!

I must be exhausted if I didn't notice all this. I'm sorry Kyoko! I'll pay you back somehow. Though I technically had never met her yet, I had always liked her friendliness. Even if she was clueless most of the time. But that only furthered her likeability. She was too trusting and accepted anyone. Like Tsuna. So I was sure she would forgive me. I peeled off the shirt. Not bothering at this point to be careful since it was already ruined anyway. It came off easier than It went on. The holes really helped in that regard.

I couldn't say the same about the pants. I pulled with all the strength I could muster but they wouldn't budge. I kept pulling and pulling. My back leaning against the bathroom door for support, I kept banging into it trying to get these damn pants off me. My support disappeared and I landed on my back with a very unlady-like "Son of a bitch!" I covered my bare breasts in mortification, as the cloud guardian towered above me.

"Are you trying to break my-" He stopped short, looking at my condition. "What are you doing?" He glared. He was always glaring. I would not look at him like this. "I'm stuck." I said through cleched teeth. I heard him snort back laughter. In one fluid movement he ripped the jeans down the side, freeing one of my legs. Grabbing my arm he shoved me inside the bathroom, throwing a plastic bag in my face and slamming the door closed.

I whispered a very painful "Thank you." Unsure if he heard or not. I didnt care. He must have since he replied, "That's the fourth time I've seen you naked. Not that I'm counting though." he sounded very amused, his footsteps fading. Leaving me blushing and seething with hate.
