No one said anything as they approached their destination. It was approaching quickly as one looked to the other.
"Riand'r said that the Citadel has come back full force." He stated and Starfire nodded.
"It is expected, shall we be using the same battle plans?" She asked and he nodded.
"But you shall be quicker this time, yes?" He replied and she rolled her eyes. "You shall stay in control this time, yes?"
"Ah, you know that is a promise I can not keep Koriand'r." He said as there were sounds of explosions from ahead. Starfire stopped flying and Ryand'r turned around to face her. "What is the matter?" He asked floated a few feet away from her.
"We are supposed to protect each other correct?" She asked and he nodded. "Then to protect me, you must stay in control. It is the oath you took, the promise you've swore not to break."
Ryand'r froze, then chuckled. "It is the promise that I swore not to break, that was beautifully worded. Now come on, you have to put your trust in me that I won't let you die out here." He replied as he grabbed her hand and flew them both into the war zone.
Meanwhile .
Robin leaned back in his chair as he stared at Barbara's note.
'Thanks for nothing!
But seriously, you reminded me why you left Gotham in the first place and why I won't leave.
I'll be nice and leave it at that I guess. Good luck to you and your team.' it read.
He smiled but his thoughts were stopped as the alarm went off. He ran out of his room and towards the ops room. He entered the room and saw Beast Boy sitting on the couch, Cyborg standing in front of him.
"What's the emergency?" He questioned as he approached the two.
"Beast Boy's gotta date with Raven." Cyborg teased and Beast Boy's face tinted a little. "Congratulations." Robin stated as he sat on the couch. "Uh, thanks." He said scratching the back of his head. "I was uh wondering if you guys could give me some pointers I guess." Beast Boy said and Robin shrugged. "I guess, what about you Cy?" He asked and Cyborg grinned.
"Of course I'll help." He replied sitting down on the other side of Beast Boy. "Where'd you plan on taking her?" "Dinner and a movie." He stated and Robin shrugged. "What movie?" Robin asked. "Thor I guess, I don't know what movie she'd like." He replied.
"Then let her choose when y'all get there." Cyborg stated and Beast Boy nodded.
Meanwhile.
"SHUT UP!" Raven yelled at her emotions. For once in her life, she'd wish Starfire was there to help her with what to wear. Her emotions were not helping her at all. They couldn't agree on anything and it was annoying to hear them argue.
"Guys, I think we're upsetting Raven." Timid said quietly.
"Well maybe if Happy would give up on wearing pink we'd actually get somewhere." Rude spat out and Happy kept smiling. "Oh Rude, what other color is there?" Happy replied twirling around.
"Blue, black, brown, orange, red, there's alot actually." Knowledge replied.
"Brown." Sloth said and Rude rolled her eyes. "We're most definately not wearing that Sloth." Love said. "Red is the way to go." "Red is daring, and it would be a change." Brave replied tapping her chin. Raven groaned at her emotions, this was gonna be a long night. A knock on the door brought her from her supposedly 'happy' place. She exited her mirror and walked over.
"What?" She spat, sliding her door open only enough to see half her face. "You're in a good mood." Robin said sarcastically.
"Point being?" She replied, not really knowing why she was in such a pissy mood. Had her own emotions upset her so much?
"Sushi or pizza?" "Excuse me?" She repeated. Then shook her head.
"Sushi." She blurted out and closed her door swiftly. "Oh Azar." She mumbled as she ran her hands through her hair. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath.
Several Hours Later .
"Maybe one of us should go check on her." Cyborg said as he turned the TV down. "No, she's coming. I know she's coming." Beast Boy assured everyone, but mostly himself.
"She wouldn't just blow me off would she?" He asked looking at Robin. Robin shrugged from behind the kitchen counter.
"We all know how she is." He said as he continued washing dishes. Beast Boy, dressed dark blue jeans, a purple shirt and black gym shoes. Before anyone could say anything, the elevator opened. Beast Boy grinned.
"W-What are you staring at?" She questioned as she stepped out and the doors closed behind her. Her cheeks tinted when Beast Boy didn't respond as his eyes traveled lowered. She wore a long sleeve black dress that stopped a bit above her knee, black flats adorned her feet.
"L-Let's go before I change my mind." She said as she walked past, swishing her hips ever so slightly. He blinked at her retreating figure as Cyborg whistled.
Several Minutes Later .
Raven sighed for what seemed like the thousandth time. Beast Boy's moped was going too slow for her liking. An idea popped into her head and she shook her head.
'Happy probably put that there.' She thought to herself as she wrapped her arms around him.
"We're never gonna get there at this speed." She murmured into his ear as her black magic engulfed him and his vehicle. He opened his mouth to argue but as he blinked, they emerged from the darkness in front of the restaurant. 'She probably wants to get this over with as soon as possible.' He thought to himself as he took off his helmet, feeling silly for even wearing it. "Well we're here." He said as he stepped off and helped her off.
"Nice place." She said as she walked towards it, Beast Boy following her. "Cyborg said this was the only place in town that sold tofu sushi." Beast Boy replied dryly as he stepped in front of her. "I didn't even think that tofu sushi was made." She said as they entered.
"Table for two?" The host asked as they entered. Beast Boy nodded as the man lead them to a table. They sat down quietly and Beast Boy picked up his menu. Raven stared at him up over hers. 'Weird, he's not making any jokes or talking at all.' Raven thought to herself as she glanced down at her menu. A few moments later they ordered their food and Beast Boy was still silent. "So, tofu sushi huh?" She said, hoping to start a conversation.
"I hope it's good. I haven't eaten all day." He replied, looking around the restaurant. "All day?" She repeated and he shrugged. "I took forever to make sure everything was perfect for tonight." He admitted and she blushed a bit. 'Maybe he's just nervous.' She thought to herself. "Is there something wrong?" She asked and his eyes focused on her.
"No… why?" He asked and she shrugged. "Well you haven't said not one joke yet and-" She was cut off by him. "You want me to?" He asked and she slowly nodded. "I mean that is what makes you, you." She said and he grinned. "Ok, what did the baby corn say to the mama corn?" He asked and she shrugged.
"Where's popcorn?" She said dryly and he frowned. Then she laughed."I was right." She said and he shook his head. "Fine, here's another one. What's goes up when the rain comes down?" He asked and she smiled.
"An umbrella. These aren't really jokes Beast Boy." She said and he rolled his eyes. "I have another one, what did one penny say to the other?" He asked. "I don't know." She stated. "Are you sure?" He asked and she nodded. "We make perfect cents."
"Aha ha." She said dryly and he shrugged. "Ok that one wasn't really funny. You kinda knocked me off my game since you knew the answer to most of them." He said and she looked down. "Sorry." She said.
"Don't get upset over it, I have plenty more. Here, what do you call a crushed angle? A rectangle." He said and she giggled a bit. After a few more jokes, their food came. "So what happened with the whole Wildfire thing?" He asked as he attempted to hold the chopsticks correctly. "It's not that hard." She said holding her hand up as an example. She held the chopsticks perfectly and he scoffed.
"On with Wildfire." He said as he put the chopsticks and picked up his food with his hand. "It's really long." She said and he shrugged. "I'm not doing any else tonight." He replied and she nodded, popping some food in her mouth. "You know how me and Trigon are right?" She asked and he nodded. "Well it's sort of like that. Except it's a curse that makes Wildfire and his dad the way they are." She said and he continued nodding.
"And what does the curse do?" He asked. "It makes you want to kill the ones you love." She stated and he continued.
"And he loves Starfire?" "Yes but not the way your thinking." She said and he raised his eyebrows. "Starfire is his sister. So other than his brother, he as an immense amount of love for her." She said and Beast Boy put his hands up. "And how is she his sister?" He asked. "Starfire's parents were never happy with one another. So her mother had an affair with a demon. Wildfire was the result of it. His dad had left them because of the curse. He loved their mother very much and didn't want to harm her." She explained and he nodded again.
"And Starfire doesn't know?" He asked and she nodded.
Meanwhile .
"Stupid wench." Ryand'r muttered as he watched Starfire flew towards another ship. Their plan was idiotic and he had no idea why she went along with it. He wasn't in his right mind when he thought up the plan. The plan being that Starfire flew into each Gordonian ship and destroyed all of them. Ryand'r would use the time she did that to 'collect his energy'.
'She has to be the dumbest of them all.' He thought to himself. Clearly he didn't need such time to gather enough star bolt energy needed to blow up the ship. 'I don't want her to die.' He thought to himself as he waited patiently for her to exit the ship. Another few ships were approaching them quickly. What was his brother and that wench's sister doing? More and more ships were coming towards them. A lot of them were sending out smaller ships towards him already. Why must you defy me for so long? Ryand'r closed his eyes. 'Not now.' He thought as the voice chuckled.
More ships are coming, you can't let one pass you otherwise Tamaran will be destroyed. They'll blow it up. We wouldn't want them to do it before you do now would we? Ryand'r opened his eyes, they were outlined in red.
"I must not think, I must not worry, I must not lose control." He chanted to himself, his childhood chant useless to him by this point. His elderly sister was always so kind to him, even if he purposely got on her nerves. The agitated face she made was just so pleasurable to him.
Imagine how her body in pieces would be. "Oh Azar, why must you torture me so?" He asked, the redness swallowing his green eyes. He looked at the ships coming towards him while his hands were pointed at the one Koriand'r was in. He felt the last thread of control he held snap as his eyes turned towards the ship she was in. One of the ships shot at him, bringing him back into conscience.
"Thank X'Hal." He said as he flew towards the oncoming ships, trying to get far away from Koriand'r as possible. He held nothing back as he destroyed each of them. He turned around and saw that Koriand'r's ship was getting too close to his planet. 'They're close enough to shot.' He thought as he looked from the oncoming ships to hers.
Koriand'r! What are you doing!? He flew towards the ship while throwing starbolts at the ones behind him.
There were more on here than we had expected. Please do not Ryand'r's eyes widened as he himself had realized what his hands had did. His control was taken from him just as fast as he had took it back. 'I didn't even realize it was gone.' He thought to himself as her ship exploded several times.
Now for that nuisance of a brother."NO!" Ryand'r yelled as he flew towards the debris. He could feel the pull of the curse but he ignored it. 'She has to still be alive, she's Tamaranian after all!' He shouted at himself as his eyes searched for her. His heart exploded when he saw her hair on a dislodged cannon.
Let's finish the job.
He'd kill himself before he'd let that voice that over his mind again.
