The next morning Maddox had came over and informed Klaus of everything that he had missed while he was babysitting Caroline.
"Your wolf left town with Tyler, after Elijah killed the pack" Maddox explained. "That won't be a problem, you will lure them back" Klaus replied. "With a fall from the mayor" he added with a smirk.
"What fall?" Caroline asked as she came walking in. She had just woke up. "Nothing sweetheart, how was your sleep?" Klaus asked trying to change the subject. He didn't want her to view him as a monster. He had left some of the collateral damage details out yesterday. "If your going to kill someone, you have to tell me." She said. "Relax... nobody's going to die." Klaus replied. Maybe hurt but not die, he thought to himself. "Whatever, Can you just hurry up and compel me...I have to go" Caroline said while gathering her things. "What's the rush love?" Klaus asked. "Where's my phone?!" Caroline yelled shaking out her purse. "That's Great." She said after realizing its lost.
"And for your information I was going to go check on Bonnie and her big witchy plan." Caroline explained. "I'm sure she's fine" said Klaus. "Well with your brother in town...anything could happen." She said. "And Bonnie was going to go poking around his warlocks to see what they know" She added. "Regardless she is on the list of people to protect" Klaus said to reassure her.
"I know, I know... it's still stressful" Caroline said as she hugged Klaus for comfort. Caroline didn't really know how to feel about everything. She was still shocked and processing it. She was with Klaus, who was the enemy. But was he really an enemy? She thought to herself. By the way Damon and everyone was making it seem...Klaus was this really old vampire, who was dangerous and doesn't care about anything. An original who doesn't play around. But they don't know the whole story like she does, Klaus just wants to break his curse that his evil mother put on him. And Elijah is mad because he thinks Klaus killed all their siblings. She had asked Klaus why he didn't just tell Elijah, but Klaus said it would break the chain of events that lead to the Sacrifice. Plus Michael is still alive and out there.
A few hours later, Klaus finally recompelled Caroline to not tell anyone about him or any of the new information he had told her. She went home and took a shower. Her phone was laying on her bed with note from her mom.
-Someone turned this in this morning. Love you.-
"That's strange" Caroline thought to herself. She texted Bonnie. -Where are you?- Bonnie texted back -The grill.-
As soon as Caroline walked in, she seen Jeremy up in that guy Luka's face. "Woah, what was that about?" Caroline asked as she walked up. "And where have you been?" Bonnie asked trying to wait until Luka was far away enough to hear. "I had do some school things." Caroline replied sitting down. "We found out that Elijah was going to kill Klaus AFTER the sacrifice" Bonnie said quietly looking at Caroline seriously. "Okay" Caroline replied trying to act surprised. "Like He is going to wait until Elena is dead to kill Klaus." Bonnie said trying to get more of a reaction out of Caroline. "We can't let that happen" Caroline said picking up on Bonnie's hint. "What are we going to do?" She asked trying to move on. "Damon said that he was going to kill Elijah while Stefan has Elena safe at the lake house." Bonnie answered. "Kill Elijah? How? He's an original." Caroline asked."With some kind of special dagger" Bonnie replied.
Caroline wondered if Klaus knew about the dagger or if he knew about any of this. She went back to the apartment to ask. "I really need your number, so I can just call and not have to come all the way over here." Caroline said as she barged in the door. "Is this going to be a regular thing" Mason asked. "You know you love spending time with me sweetheart" Klaus said with a smile. "Do you know about this special dagger that can kill an original?... because Damon has one." Caroline asked. "Yes I'm aware." Klaus replied. "Well he plans on killing Elijah with it... so I don't know if that ruins your plans or not." She said.
"Well it just keeps him dead for a little while... nothing to worry about love" Klaus answered. "Oh so it doesn't kill him forever" she asked. "Only while the dagger is still in" he answered. "Although, I would not suggest a vampire to use it." He added. "Why?" She asked. "They will turn to dust." Klaus answered while handing Caroline a wine glass. "Wait a second. Damon's gonna use it." Caroline said. "Well then Damon is going to turn into dust." Klaus said while pouring wine into her glass. Caroline hated Damon for how he treated her when she was human. But after she had turned they kind of sort of became friends, on the same team. She wanted to warn him but she wouldn't be able to under Klaus's compulsion.
"I'm sure he will be okay love...Damon is a hard one to get rid of." Klaus said while thinking of all the times he had tried to kill Damon. "Who cares?! Damon deserves to turn into dust" Mason interrupted. Caroline couldn't say anything about that. She thought it was wrong what Damon had did to Mason.
Around that time Maddox came walking in the door. "Maddox... Got any news for me?" Klaus asked. "Just a dinner party with Elijah" Maddox answered. "And that's probably when Damon's going to try to dagger Elijah" Caroline mentioned. "Come on love, let's go visit someone" Klaus said trying to make her forget about Damon. "Visit who?" She asked. "You will see" he said as they were walking out.
Klaus took Caroline to the tomb. "Klaus" Katherine said as she came around the corner. "I see your up and moving about. Who gave you blood?" Klaus asked.
"Damon. He came by earlier...wanted to confirm if the dagger will kill Elijah" she told him. "Did you tell him that he will die if he uses it." Caroline asked. "If I told him that.. he would never try." Katherine replied like it was a dumb question. "And then you would be stuck in here even longer" Klaus said. "What?" Caroline asked confused. "Want she be stuck in here if Elijah dies?" she added in. "When an original gets daggered it frees there compulsion from whoever." Klaus answered. "Well except Klaus's compulsion, the dagger doesn't work on him because of his werewolf gene." Katherine mentioned. "Lucky you" Caroline said looking at Klaus. "So hopefully they succeed so I can leave this hell hole." Katherine explained. "And if they do succeed" Klaus said as he was staring in Katherine's eyes. "I want you to hang around them. Be on their team and report back to me." He finished compelling her. Great. She was stuck in town and not only that she has to hang around the Scooby gang. She just wanted to run away as far as possible. She was still scared of Klaus, she knows how impulsive he is. He could just change his mind in one second and want her dead. And he gets what he wants. She didn't really understand how Caroline was so comfortable around him, "Maybe Klaus compelled her to not be afraid" Katherine thought to herself. "Wait, want that effect the events or whatever" Caroline asked. "No, when I found Katerina last time she was hanging around them." Klaus answered. "I was" Katherine asked. "Well, you switched to Isobel's team when you realized they didn't have a fighting chance." He answered. "That makes sense" Katherine thought out loud.
Klaus walked Caroline home and compelled her to stay in for the night. So she wouldn't interfere with anything. "I really need to start drinking vervain again" she thought to herself.
