Chapter 11
It had been about 4 weeks since both Fitz and Mellie made their original announcements. There was a media frenzy as expected but surprisingly the American people weren't as negative as Olivia had assumed they'd be. Of course there were a few reporters that went out of their way to be nasty but Olivia handled it beautifully, making statements at press conferences whenever necessary. Olivia stepped back into her role as political fixer as if she had never been away and even gained a few clients that were more than impressed on how she was handing this presidential divorce.
Mellie went back to Santa Barbara almost immediately after her press conference. She fell into sort of a postpartum depression after realizing it was really over. Her time in The White House had ended. She pretty much went into hiding and only went out when she needed to. Marta had been flying with Teddy back and forth from California and DC but he was with Mellie at the moment.
Olivia was not comfortable sleeping in the residence at the The White House even though she had fallen asleep there a few times. Her sleeping issues were a work in progress. Fitz wanted her with him all the time but they both knew that there was going to be plenty of times where Fitz couldn't be there and she needs to get back to where she could sleep on her own. So about once a week or so she would stay in her apartment by herself. It was still a little difficult but she was managing. Anytime that she would have a nightmare she'd have a glass of water and call Fitz. When she wasn't at her apartment she was at Blair House with Fitz every night. Fitz was already home when Olivia walked in around 9:00. He heard the door closing and headed that way. She was taking off her shoes and putting her purse down. Fitz stood and watched her for a second. He loved this. This literally was his dream come true.
His woman able to come home to him every night and vice versa.
"Livie." Fitz smiled and walked towards her.
A smile spread across her face as he wrapped his arms tightly around her for a warm embrace, almost lifting her completely off the ground. Fitz face was buried deep in the crook of her neck as he took in her scent.
"Hi." Olivia said as Fitz placed her down on her feet and she looked up at him.
The two of them shared a pretty passionate kiss.
"Hi."
Fitz grabbed her hand and led her down the foyer "How was your day?"
"Exhausting" Olivia replied "And yours?"
"Busy but good for the most part." Fitz answered. "The chef made an awesome dinner. I waited for you."
Olivia kind of zoned out. She so wasn't feelin dinner. She had not eaten all day. Just coffee. Her and her eating issues had come along way but there were still days that she would revert to her old ways of coping. Days that she was nervous or overwhelmed by something. This was a busy week. Not only was this the week that she and Fitz had to go to Santa Barbara for mediation, tomorrow was her first therapy session.
"Liv." Fitz said bringing Olivia out of her thoughts.
"I'm really tired." Olivia said "I really just want to take a shower and lay down."
Fitz was used to coaxing her sometimes "No. You're eating dinner."
Olivia sighed "Fitz I-"
"Olivia stop. Now." Fitz said seriously "Just hurry up, have a quick shower and meet me in the dining room."
"Just a salad ok."
Fitz smiled "That a girl. Now run along."
The two went their separate ways.
Olivia was looking forward to that shower. She really needed to clear her head. Of course it was steaming hot and was relaxing. She kind of lost track of time. Once she realized it had been about 20 mins she rushed out, threw on some comfortable clothes and headed down stairs to Fitz who was just placing their plates down on the dining room table.
Fitz saw her come in and pulled a chair out for her. She walked over and he pulled her into a side hug, kissing the top of her head in the process.
"Fitz" Olivia sighed "I said just a salad."
On her plate was pork tenderloin, roasted potatoes and a green bean salad. A garden salad drenched in dressing was on the side.
"And why is all this dressing on it?" She picked it up and looked at him "You know I like it on the side."
Most days, Olivia was somewhere in The White House and Fitz made sure she ate at least twice a day. It was becoming less and less a problem. She wouldn't have eating restrictions and sometimes she would even eat without him having to tell her to but today was different. He had not seen her all day and he could tell by her moodiness that she had not eaten.
"Just have a seat." Fitz told her then had a seat himself.
She had a seat and picked up her fork. Fitz picked up his silverware and began eating. He kind of kept an eye on her the whole time. Not even a crumb had passed her lips.
He completely turned his head and looked at her "Stop playing and eat your food."
Olivia was now annoyed.
She looked up at him "Don't talk to me like that. I'm not a child."
"You aren't?" Fitz smirked as he sat back and dabbed his mouth with a napkin "You think I don't see you pushing that food around your plate? If you didn't act like a child I wouldn't treat you like one."
Fitz was really starting to get on Olivia's nerves. She had a lot of things on her mind and she was getting a little frustrated. She didn't want to have a spaz moment at the table. Those moments had become few and far between but she felt it coming.
"I'm going to bed." Olivia said as she tossed her napkin on the table.
"Not until you eat your dinner." Fitz said taunting to her.
"I told you to stop talking to me like I'm a child!" Olivia snapped.
Fitz chuckled at her little tantrum. That pushed Olivia over the edge. She pushed her chair back and stood. She could feel the tears about to start.
"Liv sit down." Fitz said calmly at first.
Olivia slid her leg to the left to attempt to get away from In between the table and her chair.
"SIT DOWN OLIVIA." Fitz raised his voice.
Olivia plopped down in her seat then brought her hands to her face. She was crying. Fitz instantly became worried. He had not seen her this fragile in awhile. There had to be more to it he thought.
"Livie." Fitz said concerned as he leaned closer to her "What's wrong?"
"Liv." Fitz said again as he placed a hand on her knee but she jerked away
She took her hands away "I just want to lie down."
"No. Not until you tell me what's wrong." He scooted his chair back "Now come here."
Olivia didn't get up. Fitz hated seeing her cry.
He grabbed her wrist and pulled on her a little "Come, here."
Her body naturally followed his lead and she got up. He sat her on his lap.
"Did something happen today?" Fitz asked her "Why don't you want to eat?"
She remained silent, sniffling and wiping her tears away.
"Baby please talk to me" Fitz begged "I can't help you if you don't tell me what's wrong. What's bothering you?"
Olivia still wasn't saying anything. Fitz didn't know what to do. He didn't want this to turn into a set back. He thought as he continued to hold her. It finally hit him. The doctors appointment he set up for her was the next day.
He sat her up straight "Does this have anything to do with your doctors appointment tomorrow?"
She nodded.
"Aw Livie." Fitz said "This is a good thing sweetheart. Don't be worried about that."
"Can we please skip it?" Olivia finally spoke.
"No we can't skip it." He told her "You need this."
"But can't we just forget it and move on." Olivia questioned "What's the point of bringing all that stuff up again. Don't you think I'm doing well?"
"I think you're doing great. But just imagine how great you'd be if you saw someone." Fitz said trying to sound encouraging.
Olivia shook her head and continued to cry "I can't risk going back to that dark place Fitz. I'm just scared."
She wrapped her arms around his neck and lay her head down on his shoulder.
Fitz began to rub her back "Its ok to be scared. Everybody gets nervous sometimes. I searched for weeks and made sure I got the best. This will be a good thing Livie. I promise."
Olivia sat up and tried to dry it up.
Fitz wiped the remainder of her tears "I love you."
"I love you too." Olivia said with one last sniffle.
"Do you want to try and eat again?"
Olivia nodded. Fitz patted her on the hip. She returned to her seat and began eating. Fitz was pleased.
"Ya know, you're cute when you have your little tantrums." Fitz smiled "Absolutely adorable."
Olivia rolled her eyes and smiled "Shut up."
The two continued to chat, shared some laughs. Olivia nearly cleaned her plate.
Fitz noticed "Leaving room for desert I see."
"No way." Olivia said as she reached her arm across the table to touch him "Lets go to bed."
"You go ahead." Fitz stood "I'll be up in a minute."
Olivia stood as well. She was ready to sleep. "Fitz I'm tired."
She knew they were working on her being at a point where she could sleep on her own but she was with Fitz that night and when she was with him, she expected him to go to bed when when she did.
"5 minutes tops." Fitz assured her.
Olivia headed to their bedroom. Once she got there she took as long as she could getting changed. She slipped Fitz shirt over her head then got in bed. She lay on her back with her hands interlaced behind her head as she looked up at the ceiling. What could be keeping him she thought. She'd glance at the door anytime she thought she heard him. The small amount of pillow talk they would have before going to sleep was something she began to look forward to. 5, then 10, then 15 mins had gone by when Olivia finally heard Fitz approaching. She quickly turn to her side, facing the opposite of him.
"Livie." Fitz quietly called out to her.
Olivia closed her eyes to pretend she was sleeping. Fitz smiled because he knew exactly what she was doing.
He walked closer, observing her horrible job of pretending she was sleeping "Livie"
He decided to play along. He walked back over to the door and pretended to be on his phone.
"Tom." Olivia heard Fitz say "Liv's sleeping already. I'd like to go across the street and finish up some things."
Olivia sat up "Wait. I'm awake."
She saw that Fitz wasn't really on the phone.
Fitz had a laugh "I know you are silly."
Olivia smiled "You think you know everything."
Fitz started to undress "I do."
After brushing his teeth, Fitz got in bed and snuggled up to Olivia.
"What took you so long?" Olivia pouted as she settled in next to him.
"I was texting the kids goodnight if you must know."
Olivia laughed "Oh."
"Yea oh." Fitz said sarcastically to mock her.
"Sorry I've become so needy" Olivia confessed.
"I don't mind." Fitz pulled her closer "I sorta like you being needy. Just as long as I'm the one you need."
Olivia brought his hand to her mouth and kissed it "You're all I need."
The two of them drifted off together.
The next morning was no different than any other. They got up, got dressed and headed over to The White House. Olivia checked in with Huck and Abby. She let them know that she'd be in sometime later that afternoon. Both Fitz and Olivia worked all morning long and before they knew it was 10 mins until 11:00. Olivia was hoping that her and Fitz would work past 11:00.
Fitz looked over at Olivia "Livie you should probably start coming to a stopping point."
Olivia sighed "Right."
Fitz heard the sigh and walked over to her "Come on now. We've discussed this."
Olivia stood and Fitz started rubbing her arms.
"I know."
Olivia was still nervous.
"I think you will like Dr. Nathan." Fitz told her "I've spoken with her. A nice female doctor."
Fitz only considered female doctors. He didnt trust any man with Olivia.
Olivia looked up at him "What'd you tell her?"
"I just let her know that you had been dealing with some things in your life, various traumas in the last several months."
"Does she know about us?" Olivia asked.
"Yes." Fitz said "You can trust her."
There was a knock on the door.
"Mr. President" Lauren entered "Dr. Cynthia Nathan here for you."
Dr. Nathan walked in "Mr. President, it is an honor to meet you."
Fitz shook her hand "Thank you so much for coming."
"This is Olivia." Fitz said as he put his hand behind Olivia.
"Nice to meet you." Olivia shook her hand.
"The pleasure is all mine." Dr. Nathan smiled.
"Well ladies, I guess I'll get going."
"What?" Olivia turned to Fitz "You aren't staying?"
Fitz looked over at the doctor "Just a minute."
Fitz took Olivia's arm and pulled her closer to the desk "No I'm not staying. This is for you. I love you. You can do this."
Olivia nodded and he kissed her forehead. He headed back towards the door.
"Nice to meet you Dr. Nathan." Fitz said as he opened his door.
"You as well sir."
He left the two ladies alone in The Oval. Him and Cyrus had a scheduled video conference with France.
He had been in the conference call for about 30 mins when his mind started drifting. Of course he'd never admit it to Olivia but he too was nervous about her appointment. He had no idea how far they'd go or what she'd tell her. He shuttered a little because he had a flashback of when Olivia was in the hospital last and he wondered what all Olivia had told Dr. Mitchell. For the rest of the conference call he thought about how Olivia was doing. When Olivia was at The White House, Fitz made sure they ate lunch together around noon. The conference call ran over schedule. It was around 12:15 when Fitz got out.
He dialed Lauren "Lauren, let Olivia know that I will be right there. The conference ran longer than expected."
"Ms. Pope hasn't come out yet." Lauren told him "Did you need me to knock on the door?"
Fitz was surprised they weren't out yet "No, no, don't disturb them. Just call me when Dr. Nathan leaves."
That call did not come until 1:20. Their meeting lasted over 2 hours. He didn't know if it was a good thing or a bad thing. He headed straight for his office. When he walked in Olivia was gathering her things. She appeared to be leaving.
"Hi." Fitz said as he walked over to her.
She stopped and turned around "Hi."
She quickly went back to what she was doing.
"Where are you rushing off to?" Fitz asked as he came up behind Olivia and wrapped his arms around her.
"I have to meet Abby." Olivia answered.
"Gabby can wait." He told her "You need to eat lunch."
"Abby."
"What?"
Olivia turned around in his arms "Her name's Abby."
Their eyes met once they were face to face. Fitz couldn't read her. He wondered what happened during her doctors appointment.
Olivia tried to break from their embrace "I'm running so late. I'll order something from my office."
She seemed a little off which he expected. He had planned to discuss it over lunch. Looks like that discussion would have to wait but he wished she would at least throw him a bone.
"Hey." He held on to her "Give me a minute."
Olivia stopped moving.
"How'd it go?" Fitz asked.
"Fine." Olivia said in an obviously fake chipper tone "I really have to get going."
She tried to get away again.
"Will you stay still for a second?" Fitz asked frustrated but quickly smiled. He realized he may have come off annoyed and tried to save it "Are you ok?"
"I'm fine." Olivia looked him in the eye, wrapping her arms around his neck "I really am ok. It was just new, different. We can talk about if over dinner later."
Fitz drew her closer "Promise?"
Olivia smiled "I promise.
He moved in to kiss her. She kissed him back.
"We should go out for dinner." Fitz suggested.
"Sounds good to me."
"What time should I expect you?" He asked.
"I'll try and finish early." She answered "I'll be back around 8:00."
Fitz walked her to the door holding her hand "Why don't you let secret service take you? They could stay and bring you back as soon as you're done."
Olivia stopped at the door and slowly turned to look at him "Mr. President that won't be necessary."
"I tried."
The two shared a laugh then said their goodbyes until dinner time.
Fitz wished they could have had lunch together but he knew she had to go. As time went on she became busier and busier. She started coming home later and later. He found himself waiting on her most nights but she was only working late because she always put her business second. Only when she was done working for him for the day is when she'd go to OPA. He appreciated that more than anything. He didn't know any better though because Olivia usually always puts him first.
Olivia was on autopilot as she drove due to her mind completely being somewhere else. She never thought that she'd be able to speak to a stranger like that. Especially about things she had planned on taking to the grave. She wasn't exactly sure about how she felt about it but so far she was leaning forward to it being a good thing. She reached her office and decided to focus on her work for the time being.
It was finally the end of Olivia's work day. She had been running around all day and was looking forward to seeing Fitz. While she was leaving she saw a couple missed calls and a text from Fitz. The White House was only about 15 mins away so she didn't call him back.
Fitz sat waiting on Olivia. He had been thinking about her all day. He wanted to hear her voice just for a second but the two times he called the call went unanswered. He wanted to call until she answered but he knew that it would probably just piss her off. She had yet to call him back. He was just about to round up his detail to head over to OPA when Olivia walked in.
"Livie." Fitz got up and walked over to her. He felt instant happiness and relief. Fitz was an addict and Olivia was his drug. He literally would be on edge until he laid eyes on her. For him everything was ok now "I've missed you all day."
Olivia blushed. Fitz brushed her cheek with his thumb and she put her hand over his.
"You ready?" Fitz asked her.
Olivia smiled "More than ready."
They headed to a restaurant that they had been to before. Fitz made it aware to only those necessary so that the restaurant could be secured prior to their arrival. Dates were something that Fitz and Olivia rarely got to do so it was a little exciting for both of them. They arrived and were immediately ushered to a secluded area of the restaurant. It was a bit surreal. Once Fitz detail left, the server came and took their drink orders. The server brought their beverages over. In the time it took to bring the beverages, the pair were ready to order and they too were brought out hastily. Fitz observed Olivia eating right away without any rebuttals, without hesitations or pickiness. He was glad. It was a good sign and he began to wonder if she would bring up her appointment.
"This really was a great Idea Fitz." Olivia expressed between bites "Too bad we can't do this more often."
Fitz took a sip of his drink "I agree."
"How was your day?" Olivia asked "What time did you finish up?"
"Surprisingly early." Fitz continued to eat "Was an easy day, Couldn't wait to see you."
Olivia smiled.
"How was your day? I called you. A couple times." Fitz asked.
"The opposite of yours. Very busy." Olivia started "My last client was very thorough. He kept me for hours."
Olivia noticed right away when Fitz paused and tightened his jaw the second he found out her client was male. He put down his silverware and pressed his lips together.
"Fitz relax" Olivia told him "Huck was with me."
Fitz looked away but Olivia could tell he was still bothered.
"He's married." Olivia said giving him even more information.
"Like him being married is an issue with you" Fitz said with a pissy attitude "You think that's suppose to make me feel better about it?"
Fitz regretted saying that immediately. It just came out. Now Olivia was the one putting down her silverware. She stared at him for a second and started to shake her head.
Fitz saw the hurt on her face "Liv I didn't mean-"
"You have got to do something about your possessiveness." Olivia said plainly.
That seriously was the last thing he expected her to say.
"Possessiveness?" Fitz repeated.
"Your possessiveness." Olivia articulated "You do or say stupid shit like that a lot. How do you think that makes me feel?"
Fitz was honestly taken aback. It was rare to hear her use profane language. Then there was the possessive thing.
"Am I possessive?" Fitz asked a little shocked and confused.
"Yes Fitz. You are very possessive." Olivia answered honestly.
Olivia couldn't help but notice how perplexed Fitz seemed to be at this acknowledgment.
"I know you don't trust me but-" Olivia began.
"No Liv. You've got it all wrong." Fitz said sincerely "I do trust you. It's others I don't trust."
Olivia listened.
Fitz scooter closer "I need you to understand something."
He grabbed her hand "I have lost you to many times to take any chances. Maybe I'm a bit overbearing but know that I can not, and will not, lose you again. I'm sorry about that comment I made a minute ago but I will not apologize for protecting you, for loving you. Call it possessiveness if you wish."
Olivia began to second guess herself. She started to think that perhaps she was just extra sensitive. She knew Fitz loved her more than anything. She loved him and in the past did questionable things to protect him as well. She knows Fitz means well.
"You won't ever leave me Olivia" He kissed her hand "No one will ever take you away from me again."
"Will you see a doctor too Fitz?" Olivia asked "I'm not the only one who needs help."
Fitz knows Olivia is right. This whole ordeal had taken a toll on him as well. It has been traumatizing for him. Their roles had switched. He was now the one in denial about his problems so that he can focus on just Olivia. Their old tricks didn't work and had taken them to places they didn't need to be. They needed a healthy balance of healing each other at the same time. Both of them had been permanently changed so what worked before will not work now. Time for something new.
"Yes." Fitz answered "I will see a doctor."
"Perhaps we should see the same doctor then." Olivia suggested "In just one visit she has brought a lot of things into perspective for me. It will do us no good for me to get better and you still be hurting."
A faint smile appeared on Fitz face and he squeezed Olivia's hand. Olivia now had a smile on her face as well.
"You ready to get out of here?" Fitz asked.
"I am."
They got the rest of their food to go and headed out. They hadn't said much during the drive.
"You're staying with me tonight." Fitz expressed. He had his arm around her in the back seat.
"It's Tuesday." Olivia reminded him.
That was a day that Olivia would normally go home alone.
"I need you with me." Fitz let her know. "Plus I want to know about your appointment."
For some reason Olivia didn't want to discuss her appointment with him. She wanted to keep things between her and her doctor.
"I kind of just want to keep it to myself. At least for now." Olivia told him "Is that ok with you?"
Fitz wanted to know about it but he figured she'd tell him when she was ready.
"Of course it's ok."
When they reached The White House, they headed to Blair House together.
"Do you want anymore of this?" Fitz asked as they entered the kitchen area.
"Not right now."
Fitz put her food away, "Are you ready to lay down?"
"I think so." Olivia answered "I'm going to hop in the shower."
He walked over to her and put his hands around her waist "Thanks for coming back with me."
Like he always tells her "You don't have to thank me sir."
Olivia winked at him then headed up stairs. Fitz watched her until he could no longer see her. He popped his food into the microwave and sat down to finish it. He ate and checked some emails on his phone. After about 20 mins he was done and he headed upstairs to Olivia. Olivia had just finished showering. When Fitz walked in he wasn't expecting to see her completely naked in his bedroom. He hadn't seen her naked in months. He stood there staring. Olivia looked amazing nude. She had a perfect little body. She didn't want to get her hair wet so it was up exposing her gorgeous neck. Fitz was starting to get hard as a rock. This wasn't the first time that this has happened, he just never acted on his impulses. Usually he'd go to the bathroom or something and jack off. Olivia never suspected a thing. He didn't know know if that would be enough this time. Olivia went for a shirt but Fitz stopped her.
"Not yet." Fitz said "leave it off."
Olivia stood there as Fitz stared.
"Come here." Fitz told her.
Olivia didn't move. She honestly just didn't know what to think. Fitz noticed her eyes go south. She couldn't help but notice the massive bulge in his she didn't move, Fitz walked over to her.
He took a finger and dragged it lightly against her arm "Do you trust me?"
Olivia was extremely nervous. She had not had consensual sex in months and had been going out of her way to avoid it. Sex and anything sexual had been a nightmare for her. She couldn't avoid it forever though. She knew eventually she was going to have to have sex again.
Olivia looked down at the arm Fitz finger was on "I think so."
That wasn't exactly the answer he had hoped for. He took her by the hand and lead her to the bed.
"Lay down." He told her.
She did as she was told. Fitz looked down at her. She was simply gorgeous. He started to undress himself. He got on the bed and looked into her eyes. He could tell she was very apprehensive. He put a hand on her hip. He didn't want her to ever be scared around him.
Olivia looked down then back up at him "Fitz maybe I'm not ready."
"Shhh." Fitz put a finger to her mouth "I told you that I would never hurt you again didn't I?
Olivia nodded.
"I meant that. Nothing you don't want to happen will happen ok." Fitz reassured her.
Olivia nodded. Fitz scooted down to the bottom of the bed. He spread her thighs. She was still very tense.
He looked up at her "Baby relax. I'm not going to hurt you. I just want to taste you."
Olivia laid her head back and tried to relax. Fitz had really been missing her this way. Fitz took his tongue and started making small circles around her clit. It started feeling good immediately. She had no idea how badly her body missed his touch. Fitz heard a moan escape her.
He smiled "You're doing great. You taste so good."
She looked down and he winked "I can't believe how wet youre getting."
Fitz kept doing what he was doing.
"Put your finger in." Olivia said as she dug her fingers into his hair.
Fitz heard her but he felt like fucking with her "What was that Livie?"
"Put your finger in."
Fitz slid his index finger in "I think you can handle two."
He then slid his middle finger in as well. Fitz fingered her until she was soaking. He sat up and got between her thighs.
He leaned down and to whisper in her ear "Do you still think you're not ready."
Olivia shook her head. Fitz stroked his dick as he admired her perfect breast. He leaned down and kissed her shoulder. He lined himself up and started trying to put it in.
"Are you this tight for me baby?" Fitz asked her.
He leaned down and was now completely on top of her. He decided to just go for it and shoved it all the way in. Olivia arched her back to adjust to his large size and was about to scream but Fitz caught her mouth with his. Olivia put her hand on his hips to sort of guide him. He kissed her passionately as he thrusted into her. He saw Olivia grip the sheets into a fist.
"You ok?" Fitz asked her.
Olivia nodded breathlessly.
"Tell me you're mine." Fitz said.
Fitz was sliding in more smoothly now. It no longer hurt and started to feel really good to Olivia. She was distracted.
Fitz thrusted in her really hard "Tell me your mine."
"Mmmm " Olivia moaned "I'm yours."
"Only mine." Fitz Told her then pulled out and shoved it back in her roughly "Say it."
"Only yours."
Fitz pulled her up "Get on top."
Olivia got on top and eased it back it. To Fitz surprise she started riding him like a champ. Fitz watched on in ecstasy as his woman rode him.
"Oh my God." Olivia said sexily then thew her head back "I'm about to cum."
"Let go." Fitz said and they came together.
Olivia nearly fell over from pure exhaustion. They both laid there, side by side on their backs. They looked at each other.
Fitz spoke first "You were amazing."
"You weren't so bad yourself" Olivia let him know.
Olivia tried to get up but Fitz pulled her back down and into his arms.
"Where do you think you're going?" Fitz held her tight "All mine."
"All yours huh." Olivia had a small laugh "And you still don't think your possessive?"
"I don't pretend not to be. I am totally possessive when it comes to what's mine, which would be you Ms. Pope."
Olivia playfully rolled her eyes "What am I going to do with you Mr. President?"
Fitz threw himself on top of her "I know what you can do with me."
The couple went for round two.
The next couple of days were pretty laid back. The only major thing that was on schedule for that week was Fitz and Mellie's mediation. Fitz and Olivia had only been in Santa Barbara for a couple of hours when It was time to go to the courthouse.
"Fitz is it absolutely necessary that I go to court with you?" Olivia asked annoyed.
"Yes." Fitz said plainly from the backseat of an SUV.
"But after you forced me to get on that plane with you this morning you said that I could stay at the hotel."
"No. I need you with me." Fitz explain.
"But-" Olivia began.
Fitz looked over at her "But nothing. Drop it. You're here now. So just sit back princess."
Olivia huffed and sat back. Fitz thought it was funny. They drove a little longer. Once they reached their destination they got out and started walking into the building. Olivia tried once more "Fitz really. Can I please just stay in the car."
Now Fitz was annoyed. They stopped walking "Olivia I told you to drop it. What's the matter with you? Don't piss me off today."
"What's the matter with me is that I'm not trying to see YOUR WIFE right now?"
Olivia was not looking forward to see Mellie. Not with Mellie knowing what she knows about her.
"I mean who brings their mistress to mediation to divorce their wife?" Olivia asked.
Fitz was getting kind of pissed. He ushered her to the side "How many times do I have to tell you. Don't ever let me hear you call yourself my mistress again. Do you understand me?"
Olivia didn't say anything. She just stood with her arms crossed.
Fitz grabbed her chin and forced it up "Do you understand me?"
Olivia looked at him before answering "Understood."
"Good. Now come on." Fitz put his hand at the small of her back to get her moving.
He looked down to his side at her and could tell she was pissed. They stopped walking again.
"Is something else bothering you?" Fitz asked.
There was something else.
"I feel guilty." Olivia said then looked down.
"Livie." Fitz wanted to hug her but there were people everywhere. All eyes were on them.
"I just feel responsible for your divorce. I'm not proud of taking another woman's husband and then flaunting it all in front of her." Olivia explained near tears.
"Is that what this is about" Fitz asked.
Olivia nodded.
"Liv you didn't take me from Mellie." Fitz assured her "She lost me. And don't worry about her knowing what happened to you either. Your with me and I won't let her hurt you in anyway."
"Alright" Olivia said drying up the tears.
They didn't see Mellie until she was right there in their face. Mellie and her lawyer got there early. Mellie was in shock. She was not expecting to see Olivia there. She didn't think that Fitz would be that bold.
"How cocky can you be Fitzgerald?" Mellie asked "I mean did you seriously think it was ok to walk your little whore in here like this."
Olivia knew this was going to happen. Mellie was still in disbelief. At that moment both women realized that they'd be in each other's life in some form or another for the rest of their lives. Talk about a living hell. Mellies children's life stories would involve Olivia. She knew that'd Fitz would be marrying her as soon as the divorce was final and there was no doubt in her mind that Fitz would have her pregnant ASAP. Olivia pope would be the mother of her children's siblings. Her children's cell phones would have pictures of their baby brother or sister being held by their stepmother and father.
