Chapter 11: Through The Forest We Go
Part 1
In the Ilex Forest days after the furious fest of battles, we found two of our heroes sitting in front of the Forest Shrine: Ash is in the lotus position and he is allowing the tranquility of the forest to ascend him to a state of being that he normally might not be able to ascend to while Janic looks uncomfortable sitting in a proper lotus position so he modifies it so his knees won't hurt later though that doesn't him meditate one little bit as all manner of Caterpie and Paras crawl on him so they can reach a tree branch that has Oran berries on it. Janic has been passing it off but the moment he feels one of the bug types leak on him and can't bear it any longer.
"RRRRAAAAHHHH!" The over weight boy bellows out in rage as the Caterpie and Paras flee from the enraged trainer. Ash sighs as he flicks a bead sized of aura sphere at Janic's gut to get him to stop ruining the mood.
"Enough my pupil. We are here to relax our bodies and calm our minds." Janic gets a dark little glint in his eyes.
"So in other words you are wasting time as I'm getting used as a bathroom." Ash sighs while shaking his head.
"You don't get it. You control aura and aura is the manifestation of life forces…you need a sounded body and sounded mind to use aura in the ways that an aura guardian can use it." Janic looks like he somewhat understands what Ash is saying.
"Okay I think I get it but how in the heck can I even use my aura than? I'm not of sounded body or mind." Janic say.
"Don't put yourself down, my pupil. The definition of a sounded mind and body is different from person to person…and the main reason why you can use Aura like you can is because you were born with an abnormally large life force." Janic sighs.
"If you wanted to call me fat that why didn't just come out and say it than?" Ash pops a blood vessel.
"I'm not calling you fat! I'm talking about how you can live longer than the average person because only one in every million people is born with an abnormal life force…usually only a little bit but as I use my Aura sight to peer at you…your's is really strong for some reason." Janic nods.
"Oh. I'm sorry Sensei Ash…I had a stupid moment." He says as Ash smiles.
"That's okay, just don't make that a habit cause I know someone who can break a habit like that in a heart beat."
"Do you mean Silver?" Janic asks. Ash shakes his head no.
"I was going to say my wife but since you mentions him, I better make a mental note that he and his mother can do that as well." Ash says before he scratches his head.
"I forgot where I was going with our little discussion." Janic sighs.
"I think you were talking about my abnormal life force?" Ash snaps his fingers.
"That is right. Anyway, you are special in that way, not many people anymore can use aura in the way that we can and I had a hard enough time on my own trying to learn this things."
"So that is why you are helping me out so I can use aura in a fashion like you do?" Janic asks.
"Well that and so you don't hurt yourself like I did."
"Oh." Janic says as he gives the meditation another try. Ash looks over at shrine where Silver walks out from behind of.
'Don't worry, the meat shield will not be able to heard our conversation.' Silver says telepathically.
'What do you want Silver?' Ash kind of gets to the point.
'My my your wanting to get straight to the point…very well. I feel that you need to hurry this up, he still is freaked out about what my little brother did to Bugsy.'
'How can I forget? Zero really when over board.' Ash thinks.
A few days ago, inside of Bugsy's gym. Janic's Wailmer aka Lord and Bugsy's Volcarona were locked in battle. Both looked exhausted as the rain drops from Lord's Rain Dance begin to stop pouring down.
"Volcarona use Flame Charge to get close and than Leech Life!" Volcarona blitzes over in a veil of flames and latches onto Lord like a vampire.
"Lord use Aqua Jet and Bounce to get Volcarona off of you!" Lord's body surges in water and quickly bounces off the ceiling and onto the ground again and again but Volcarona is hanging on tight. Lord smashing into the ground, dust and mist fog the battle field.
"Who won?" Everyone in the crowd asks. Bugsy smiles as he sees Volcarona fly up and out of the dusty fog.
"Good job Volcarona." Bugsy says as Volcarona slowly flies over to Bugsy's side and Janic sighs at the sight of Lord, knocked out at the bottom of the crater he created.
"Janic, don't think of this as a loss." Bugsy says as Janic looks confused.
"Why?" Bugsy smiles again.
"Because my Volcarona really enjoyed the battle." Volcarona smiles as a loud clap pauses the everything. Janic and Bugsy looks at the stands and the one who clapped was Theo.
"Janic that was a good battle from what I saw but you made a critical error in that last round." Janic returns Lord.
"Yeah and what was that guy whose name I don't know?" Theo looks as serious as Thea did when she was judging the contest.
"You should have used Rain Dance the moment your Wailmer entered the battlefield." Janic takes a moment to think about how he battled and he face palms.
"Man, I should have done that maybe than it could have been a double knock out." Janic says as Theo nods.
"Well the battle would have been very different but you live and you learn. Speaking of learning, my name is Theo and I did enjoy watching this battle unlike the battles you had earlier in the day." Theo says right before Zero leaps down to the battle field.
"My turn! My Turn!" Zero chants as Janic is rushed off the battle field by Zero's ice. Giving Janic one heck of a cold chill as Zane smirks.
"Meatshield, I can warm you right up." Janic not only shivers at how cold he is, he notices how Zane is so egger to help him out and from what he understands, Zane normally won't be so egger like that.
"I'll be fine Zane, I'm fat for a reason." Janic says as every gets a small laugh from that.
"Alright." Zane says, secretly wanting to burn Janic for not watching his battle against Silver though he mainly wanted to make sure that Janic won't get a cold due to the amount of times he has been dealing with sudden temperature changes (and you all know what I mean by that, if you don't go reread some of the earlier chapters and see what I mean). Anyway, Zero looks happy because Bugsy has gone to go get one of his other team of Bugs. Silver looks over at Theo.
"Would you mind Refereeing for this short battle, Theo?" Theo looks confused.
"I don't mind but why are you saying 'this short battle'?" Theo asks as Silver sighs.
'Because Zero wants to practically kill Bugsy for weird and silly reasons…and I want him to make it quick cause I want to see the old man of our group actually do something before we get to Goldenrod and his wife does something that a vast number of people will not mind her doing to him.' Silver says though a telepathic message. Theo nods in agreement and leaps down to the spot on the field were the referee would normally be. Bugsy comes back and has three poke balls on him.
"Well, I hope you don't mind a triple battle young man." Bugsy says. Zero pulls out only one poke ball and points it at Bugsy.
"Okay, You use three and I only want to use one." Bugsy looks shocked.
"Would that put you at a disadvantage if I'm using all three of my pokemon against only one of your's?" Zero looks Bugsy, a ghastly chill ran up Bugsy's spine.
"I think you'll be the one at a disadvantage if I use all three of mine." Zero begins to go back into that over serious almost sadistically state he was in, Theo gets a chill from Zero's emotions as he decides to look over at Silver.
'Theo, don't mind him. This will be over quickly and to answer your question, Zero has more of our mother's in your face cruelty at times and from what I've seen, he'll get worst around the age of sixteen to where his innocent moments that you haven't had a chance to see may never escape the Ice Age of Demonic Cruelty.' Theo gulps at the thought as his head is filled with more questions than he had a moment ago. Ice begins to build up rapidly as Bugsy's trio of bugs stare down an Ice type that has a black face and evil grin.
"The Battle between Zero the Challenger and Bugsy the Gym begins…NOW!" Theo signals and all you can ever is the sweet yet horrid sound of silence.
Present time
Back in the forest, Janic is in the fetal position by a dead tree crying.
"Make the snowmen go away! Make the snowmen go AWAY!" Ash is trying all he can to get Janic to snap out of it but Janic begins to break out into the panic sweats. Silver mentally sighs and uses his psychic powers to smack some sense into Janic.
'Quiet your Sandile Tears and snap out of it! Bugsy is going to be fine…' Silver says. Janic begins to come out of it. 'Though Bugsy will need therapy though.' Silver tells Ash.
Meanwhile back at the Azalea Gym, a group of Police Officers have just found the scene inside of the gym, frozen trees and silk everywhere, traditional looking snowmen all encircling a half frozen Bugsy.
"Lt. Jenny, what do you make of this?" An older Officer Jenny walks up and takes a look at Bugsy and she lets out a sigh.
"Yep it is as I have figured…the local teens vandalized his group with the help of some Ice and Psychic type pokemon." The other officers look confused.
"But Ma'am, from the records, none of the local teenagers have any ice or psychic type pokemon." Jenny begins to contemplate who could have done this when a young Jenny walks up.
"Lt., we just searched the security videos and we know who has done this." The younger Jenny shows the Older one the video with our gang in the gym and what Zero did in great detail. The Older Jenny looks away.
"I've seen enough…Lets get to work on getting Bugsy out of the Ice and than get him to a hospital."
"Yes Ma'am!" The other officers begin to follow her orders as she thinks to herself.
'I wish I knew why the International Police let that Psychic Destroyer Silver and his cohorts get away with this kind of Tauros.' She balls her hands into a fist.
Back in the forest again, we found little Zero, Rain, Lilly, Zane, Blaze, Theo and Silver are hanging around a pond. Zane, Theo and Silver are leaning against trees. Theo is looking up at the trees, feeling a sense of relief that he is getting the break away from his Twin sister especially due to the fact that they are more and more distasteful rumors about them possibly engaging in Twin-cest which has been leading to some very odd questions from reporters. Zane on the other hand has his over protective eyes are fixed on his sister, making sure that she isn't in any kind of hurt no matter how minor it may be as Lilly's perverted eyes are fixed append Zane.
'Oh Zane my darling, I pray for the day our eyes connect in a loving and eternal glaze!' Lilly begins to fall to her knees with a racing heart as Rain sighs.
"I always thought you were a stalker…but I didn't know you were a Juvia Loxar level stalker." Lilly glances over at Rain.
"I'm not a stalker! I'm an Uber-Mega-Fan Girl! There is a difference!" Rain looks a little purple in the face.
"Sure there is." She says as the two begin to get into a small debate, not realizing that the artic wolf in Innocent Mareep clothing has sneak his frost way behind Rain and with a gentle tug of the back of her dress, he use his free hand to put some ice crystals down it. Rain instantly jumps from the sudden feeling of ice cold crystals clashing against her warm skin.
"AH!" Rain screams as she dances around, trying to get what ever it was out of her dress as the ice hits different spots of her back until it finally falls out. Rain picks up the ice as Zero is laughing away.
"Dance, Splashy Dance!" Rain looks infuriated as all of the water from the pond they were near begins to encircle her and she uses it to lash at Zero. He dodges as he still is laughing. "Yay! I love playing tag!" He says with a cute little smile right before he heads deeper into the forest as Rain follows.
"Oh yes, this is tag…the kind of tag that involves whipping your skin off of your body!" Rain says in a creepy way as she continues to whip and lash at Zero. Silver taps Theo on the shoulder.
"Its your turn to go baby sit my little brother." Theo looks confused.
"My turn? How did I get volunteered into babysitting?" Theo ask as Silver grabs and puts slight pressure on Theo's shoulder.
"Because I said so unless you want me to send you back to your sister's side when she is in the middle of a photo shoot for Poke Weekly Magazine's Female Trainer of the Month and I make sure you would be more embarrassed than she would be." Silver says with his cruel tongue as a disturbing thought runs through Theo's head where Silver teleports him to that photo shop and he is without clothes and without sanity. Silver laughs, which has everyone backing away from him except for Zane.
"Okay Silver, I'll go watch your little brother for ya." Silver nods, lifting his grip from Theo's shoulder, and Theo heads in the direction of the random puddles. Zane looks around and finds that Lilly and Blaze used Silver's laughter to go else where. Silver taps Zane on the shoulder though Zane is weary of Silver's mere tapping for Silver isn't usually so physical when he wants your attention.
"Relax Zane. I'm not going to do anything, besides pointing out that we have walked into a trap set up by two Executives of Team Rocket for the sol purpose of testing our strength or attempting to kill us though eight of us won't be in any danger." Silver say as Zane counts up the number of people in there group in his head.
"Silver…you do realize that there are nine people in our group." Silver does not respond, and Zane face palms.
"Meat shield." They both say as the forest becomes alive with the sounds of foot steps and flapping wings. Silver smirks.
"Lets go this way." Silver says before he starts to walks in a direction that none of the others have went in and Zane quietly follows as he lights a patch grass to ablaze after each step.
Part 2
An hour passed by. Sunlight on high noon pierces through the tree tops and hits the back of Janic's neck, who fell asleep after his letting panic attack ended. He sits up and takes a look around.
"Ash, where did you go?" He noticed that he was no longer around the shrine of Ilex Forest, ironically he thinks he rolled away from the place during his little nap. "I need to find Ash and the others." The moment he tries to get up he finds that his ankles bounded and evilly mature laughter fills his ears.
"Well well the fat boy is awake." A swarm of Rocket grunts appear from the trees' shadows. Janic grinds his teeth and when he tries to use his hands to untie his ankles, vines from Weepinbell snatch his wrists as a grunt walks over to him. "Ah you're that one…the Aura user in training." Janic looks shocked.
"How do you know about that?" He asks, the grunt smacks him.
"Keep your trap shut. You three go inform Lyn and Jet that we have captured one of the children." Three of the grunt take off into the woods as one heck of a chill begins to run down Janic's spine.
'I have a bad feeling that I'm the only one in danger.' He thinks.
Near the edge of the forest on the Goldenrod side of it, Silver and Zane are staring down the male Executive of Team Rocket. Silver nods.
"Jet. I heard your joined up with Team Rocket recently, and your bosses were smart to make you an Executive." Silver says as Zane remains quiet and Jet nods.
"So the Psychic Destroyer's powers are on par with your mother's…does this mean you also know why I am in this situation?" Silver shakes his head.
"My powers are on a level higher than my mother's but you are the first person in a while to realize that my powers are legit though what you just asked about is none of your business." Silver pauses and looks at Zane. 'Your mind is quiet, are you alright my friend?' Zane nods. Jet looks confused.
"Why do I have the feeling you two are talking via your minds." Silver laughs.
"Possibly although it is none of your business." Jet nods.
"Alright, I think its about time that I challenge one of you to a little battle." Jet points at Zane. "Excuse my rude pointing but I want to see what you can do." Jet says, holding a poke ball. Zane looks disappointed.
"Man, I really wished you weren't talking about a pokemon battle." Jet understands Zane's disappointment.
"I know but by Twerp Rule Number 5 of The Team Rocket Handbook, we must engage opponents in a pokemon battle and don't use man made weaponry until your pokemon have been beaten or you are out numbered by Beedrill." Jet explains. Silver laughs again.
"Twerp Rules…That better be an acronym for something." Jet sighs.
"I wished that was true, Psychic Destroyer…but I think its time for the fight to begin." Jet sent out a poke ball and a Simisear pops out. Zane smiles.
"I like your choice of pokemon." Zane grabs one of his and tosses out, his shiny Charizard roars loudly as it emerges from the ball. "Lets go!" Charizard unleashes a black Flamethrower which is met by Simisear's Flame Burst and a huge fiery explosion blankets the nearby trees in flames.
In another part of the forest, Zero and Rain look like they have settled things between the two of them though Team Rocket never stood a chance since Rain practically drown them when she was still trying to get Zero, the two of them noticed the explosion Zane and Jet's pokemon caused. Rain sighs.
"Man I guess we have to go find the others now." Zero lets out his own woe.
"Do we have to stop playing tag than?" He asks. Rain looks into his innocent eyes.
"We don't have to…" She pauses as he skates away on the ice he forms as she looks down again. "I DIDN"T SAY UNPAUSE!" She screams loud as she can as she gives chase in her own splashy fashion.
Now closer to the northern edge of the forest, Blaze and Lilly both look ticked off as they hide behind a cloak of moss from Team Rocket Grunts whom seem to have a horde of Golbat and Raticate. Blaze tries to hold back her rage but she is too close to the point of having an outburst when the sound of the explosion sends all of the Grunts in all different directions and only a couple remain in the area around the girls. Lilly snaps her fingers as those grunts are trapped in randomly hanging vines and the girls jump out of hidding.
"Thanks Lilly. I don't think we could have dealt with that many grunts without getting seriously hurt." Lilly nods.
"I was only doing what Mama taught me to do when I'm stuck in the middle of a crowd." Lilly laughs it off. Blaze pats her on the back.
"It was good thinking regardless." Lilly was surprised by the sight sincerity she felt from Blaze's words.
"Thank you." Lilly says as she pauses for a moment due to a strange thought entered her head. Blaze sees some wild pokemon starting to flee the forest in a manner that would make you think there is a wild fire.
"I think we should get out of here." Blaze says as the smell of burning wood enter their noses. 'Daggit Brother, you need to restrain yourself or else you'll burn the whole forest down.' Blaze thinks while the girls are running and grabbing any young or injured pokemon to get out of the forest.
A few minutes later, fifty five yards away from where Blaze and Lilly were, a team of twenty Rocket grunts toss Janic onto the ground after carrying him from where he was, each of them panting and gasping for air, Janic gets the rope out of his mouth and looks up.
"Man you guys must be out of shape if all of you are panting from carrying little old me." Janic says sarcastically. One of the grunts gets his teeth.
"Have you looked in the mirrior lately kid? You are huge!" Janic get angry.
"I know I'm a little chubby but I'm not huge and by the way, you guys could have rolled me here, you would have save all of energy and I would not have been able to talk as I am if you would have done it." Janic says pointing out such an obvious flaw with how they handle transporting him. The grunts all look like they are about to do something to the boy, a sword comes out of nowhere and discharges a burst of electricity that practically paralyzed the grunts.
"Morons that lot of the you." Executive Lyn says as she makes her way over to her sword and draws it from the ground, Janic see her and he remembers that time in Union Cave when he thinks he saved Blaze from her when in reality he passed out from his injuries.
"You're that woman from Union Cave." Janic says. Lyn looks over at him and a small chuckle escapes her lips.
"So we met again, kid…I never would have thought you would have made the grunts look like complete morons while you are a captive. Bravo!" She begins to clap as Janic looks serious.
"Haha, what the hell did you guys do this?" Lyn walks over to Janic and grabs his chin.
"Cause me and another Executive need some examine you children."
"Examine? What do you mean by that?" Lyn smirks in a creepy way.
"Any of you who can move, please get out of here, I want to interrogate the boy." She a few minutes and not a grunt moves or makes a sound. "Oops I must have fried them a little harder than I thought." She says so causally. Janic looks disgusted.
"They were your allies." Lyn laughs.
"Allies? No those fools were my minions, nothing more." Janic is repulsed by her statement and Lyn isn't bothered by the dislike on his face.
"Kid, I'm going to tell you this one time, in this world there are two kinds of people, predator and prey." She says right before she slashes at Janic, cutting him free while leaving a wound on his arm. "I am a predator for I'm someone who will do anything to devour another and gain power." She slashes him again, he was cut on the upper part of his gut and he felt a slight shock from that. Janic has finally got his footing while he pants.
"So what am I than?" He ask and she laughs as she made her way closer to him, her sword ready for another strike.
"You happen to be prey." She slashes him on the opposite arm and this time he was shock with a jolt of electricity that equaled a modern tazer, he is in agony. "You are the fool who is going to be devoured by a predator…" She keeps cutting him and shocking him, he begins to lose feeling in his hands temporarily. "Never gaining any kind of power!" She blushes at the sight of his tortured face. "Nor will you gain any respect. All you will be is nothing but someone else's stepping stone!" She stabs him in the lower gut, a little under where you would put a belt on. She shocks him once but she doesn't pull out the sword, and shocks him again. Janic looks like he is at his limit, he is covered in a layer of sweat, he is losing a little blood here and there and he just looks defeated yet he finds the strength to keep himself stand and he than looks Lyn straight in the eyes.
"From…the wa…way you talk…you sound more lik..e an ugly o…old cou…gar pedophile trying to esca…pe the fact that you are…not attractive any….Ah!" Before he could finish his statement, she maxed out the voltage on her sword and let him have it. He falls to the ground cause of the mass electrocution, she pulls the sword out and sheaths it.
"And this is why I hate little brats like you." She says as she notices that he is still breathing. "No no, boy, it time for you to go see Giratina." She pulls out a poke ball and her Scyther appears out of it. "Guillotine." She commands and her Scyther prepares to send Janic to the other side when Munchlax pops out of his poke ball and tackles Scyther in the gut.
"You fat brat!" Munchlax growls at Lyn and she growls back. "Scyther get that little pain in the butt!" As Scyther was about to attack Munchlax a power gust of manmade wind sends the little guy right into a tree, Lyn and Scyther look confused as Executive Jet appears with a few burn marks on his uniform.
"I'm sorry to interrupt but I have a black wild fire that seems to be chasing me and we need to withdraw." Lyn takes a look behind Jet and she sees a wall of black flames that appears to be following the same path Jet made through the forest and anything the flames touch where completely engulfed and burnt to nothing.
"Fine, let us leave than." Lyn returns Scyther and grabs a hold of Jet as he uses his gauntlets to make them blast off again. The flames than began to act like normal ones again and leap from tree to tree, Munchlax gets up and rushes over to Janic. He tries to shake his trainer, hoping he would get up. Nothing was working and the flames were starting to get closer. Munchlax began to look scared and it begins to growl loudly, though there still isn't a response from Janic. Tears rain down from the pokemon's eyes as he grabs a hold of Janic and everything around them is soon engulf in the flames but from the blackness of the fire bursts a white-ish blue light.
Holy Sawsbuck! Noivern-man! Our heroes really had there hands full with Team Rocket!
I know Fletchling-kid, this cliffhanger is bring forth a whole mess of questions like: What is to become of our favorite pokemon OC Janic? Why was he the one being tortured by Lyn? Why did Lyn have such an obsession with Predator and Prey? Did Rain ever tag Zero? Did Zane really make his flames chase after Jet? And Lastly, why was Silver practically doing nothing?
I sure don't know Noivern-man but I do know one thing, we really need Misty to make an appearance in the story besides on the telephone.

Fletchling-kid, I do not think so…we'll be lucky to get some screen time on a randomly described television.

Omake: Why Zane does not like the Hula
One evening in the middle of the woods, Blaze, Lilly, and Rain are alone around one of the camp fires cause Silver suggested that Zane and Zero help Janic out with raising Magby's special defenses...anyway, you see Blaze moving her hip and swaying her arms much like a Hula dancer would.
"And that is the basic first moves of performing the Hula." She stops. "Do you guys want to try?" Blaze asks, Lilly and Rain nod. The two inexperienced girl try there best to mimic what Blaze did though they aren't moving their hips in the right way. "You girls are doing good although you need to move you hips more like this." Blaze shows them again how they should be moving their hips and both of the girls get it down and they all spend a few minutes doing it.
"Wow I'm actually liking this Hula dance, it feels like a great way to work our hips." Rain says enjoying it, Blaze could only smile as they all continued to just do those very simple moves. A few yards away, Zane is walking back to the camp for he forget to grab a couple of his pokeballs and he stumbles upon the girls Hula dancing and his face looks mordified.
'No...No...NO!" He first was only thinking that but he lets out an out burst that makes the girls jump out of there skins. They see Zane huddled up into a ball.
"Blaze, is your brother okay?" Blaze shruggs and they head over to him.
"What is wrong, brother?" Blaze asks and Zane shakes a little.
"There shouldn't be an afro down there." Rain and Lilly look dumbfounded as Zane remembers something that happened when he was seven or eight years old; he had went to go find his mother, Flannery, to see if he could watch a gory film that had Sabrina as the star but when he opened the door to her bedroom he saw Flint, his stepfather, wearing a coconut bra and a grass skirt performing the hula for Flannery. For the first five second, he was able to handle it but than it all went south when the grass skirt fell to the floor, an afro-y image so shocking was engraved into his mind that he actual started to cry. Even now, he is on the break of tears, which is making Lilly a little teary eyed herself and she starts to imagine comforting him and she doesn't realizes that she has wrapped her arms around him. Blaze and Rain sigh.
"I guess there both are broken in some way..." Rain says, Blaze gets an apifany.
"Oh know I remember, he doesn't like seeing the Hula because it brings up a bad memory involving afros." Rain looks sadden.
"Blaze, that is the lamest excuse for not liking a dance in my life and by the way, next time you coming up with a conclusion to something please try thinking first." Blaze gets a little flustered.
"But I did think about it, my brother never really like afros." Rain just sighs and keeps her thoughts to herself as Zane stands up and gets right behind the two of them with Lilly still on him. He looks embarrassed and enfuriated.
One hour later, all three girls look charred and Zane starts walking away.
"If you tell anyone what happened before this, I will hurt you." The girls nod the best they can and Zane heads right on his way.
"New rule, we don't do the Hula...unless Silver teleports my brother to another region for a day." Rain and Lilly agree.
