Chapter 11.
(Court Case- 2nd August 2016)
Arranging a party without Kurt knowing about it was pretty hard, but she managed to pull it off, because she knew if Kurt knew about the party, in a matter of seconds, Puck would know about it because Kurt can simply not keep a secret.
When Rachel spilled the beans on how Puck got the role of The Beast, he was so excited. He knew this was a great opportunity for him to make something good out of his life, and give Beth a healthy and happy life.
He couldn't have gotten here without Rachel, she did everything since that day they met at the bakery. Without her, he would have still stayed in that shit hole apartment in New-Jersey and probably would have had Beth taken away from him, but Rachel gave him a new life and he couldn't even thank her enough for that.
And what made it even better for him was, that this was his first time ever being on Broadway, he had no idea how to act, but somehow he got the part, he knew Rachel had something to do with it but didn't want to ask her and spoil her bubble.
So after the party, everyone left, Kurt, Blaine, Tina and Mike went to Rachel's apartment, Santana went to her own, Rachel decided to spend the night with Puck and Beth, and Puck couldn't have been more appreciative of what happened that night, of course they had to keep it low because Beth was on the other side of the room, but still Rachel managed for him to have the time of his life.
Today was the court case, and for some mysterious reason he was nervous as hell, he should be happy about it, that Shelby is finally going to get what she deserves, but he had a strange feeling in the pit of his stomach about the whole situation, he didn't know exactly what it was, but he didn't like it.
He finished fixing his tie when he felt Rachel's tiny body press up against his. He loved the feeling so much. He turned around and gave her a kiss.
"You ok?" Puck asks.
Rachel nods her head and walks to the kitchen. "I'm good. I'm just worried about you, you seem a little tense." She finished her cup of tea and rinsed it out, handing Puck his coffee, she sat down on the couch, waiting for Santana to arrive, she would be looking after Beth while they were in Court.
"I can't say that I'm not 'cause that would be a lie. Rach, I have this strange feeling that I can't place my finger on what it is. It is creeping the shit out of me."
"A strange feeling about Shelby?" Rachel thought back to how she felt when she thought someone was watching her and wondered if she should let Puck know about that.
Puck shook his head. "I don't know, this whole thing is just strange you know?"
"I felt like that a few days ago, when we were at the ballet studio." Deciding to gather up her pride, she told Puck exactly what had happened.
"Why didn't you tell me about that?"
"It wasn't a big deal, and we weren't on the best of terms with each other so I couldn't, and my security team did a very good job in keeping me safe so there was no need. And besides, it was probably just my imagination."
Puck took the last sip of his coffee and pulled Rachel onto his lap. "But in a city like this you never know what might just happen. There are creeps and crazy stalkers everywhere. We just have to be careful."
Just as Puck started to kiss Rachel and run his hands along her thighs, Santana came in through the door. "Morning bitches."
Rachel got up and fixed herself, and Puck remained on his seat. "Santana how many times-"
Waving her hands in the air, she dropped down onto the couch. "Yeah yeah, don't use the no-no words in front of Beth I know, but she's probably asleep so why not?"
Puck shook his head in disbelief and got up, getting ready to go to the court.
Santana heard a squealing sound and knew it was Beth waking up, so she, with a lot of difficulty, managed to get up and go get Beth ready for the day. She had a few things planned for them to do and knew that Beth would absolutely love it.
She was planning on taking her out to the park for a picnic, then go do some shopping, get a pizza, sweets, and rent a few movies, even if they were kiddies ones (Santana secretly loves kiddies movies). But that, she would never tell anyone, except Brittany.
The last few weeks Santana has been on a rough patch with Brittany, she knew she didn't do anything wrong because she tried everything she could to make Brittany feel comfortable with everything, so she had a frightening feeling that something was up with Brittany, but she wasn't going to push her to say something. She learned that on the hard way.
Rachel and Puck said their goodbyes and left for the court. They both tried to hide their troubled looking faces as best as they could, knowing that that would get them no where.
As soon as they stopped the car in front of the court, Puck took Rachel's hand in his, her hands felt very icy. He asked her why it was that way, but she just brushed it off and kissed him, knowing that would get him off the subject.
As they walked into the building there were abundant amounts of people walking about each other, giving each other commands and scattering throught he crowd of people.
It must have been a very busy day at court, Rachel thought and walked with Puck to the room the detective said they would be holding the case.
They remained standing still outside the door until the detective arrived, looking very pleased with himself.
"I have accomplished everything I needed. Now, there's no way that we will lose the case." He looked through the window. "Looks like everyone is already assembled. Let's move in."
The three walked into the room and got a seat at the very front. There were low whispers going through the room and Rachel knew it was about her and Puck, but knew it was best to ignore them.
As they waited for the judge, and of course Shelby to arrive, Rachel examined the court room, she has never been in one before. The structure of the room was really small, but enough to hold a good case.
The police officer standing in the very front, called for the judge, and a really bulgy man walked up the stand and hit his hammer on the platform in front of him.
Just after that, Shelby walked in from the side that was closest to Rachel, and the look she gave her was outrageous. Rachel's fingers dug deeper into Puck's arm, and when he looked up, he saw what cause Rachel to feel this way.
When he looked into Shelby's eyes he saw nothing, just a confused, creepy, and cruel woman trying to make everyone's lifes miserable. He tried not to look at her, but the anger boiling inside him was intense. But when he felt Rachel's cold lips against his cheek, he calmed down and turned his gaze away from the woman who took everything from him. He was determined to get through this, to get through this with Rachel, and win this case, because like he said before, and what Rachel has said, Shelby does deserve what she has coming for her.
The judge didn't look very enthusiastic about holding this case, but what judge ever looks enthusiastic?
Rachel was as the case dragged on, but then when she heard the case was dismissed for now only, she threw her hand into her lap in exasperation and knew she would see the court a few more times.

The case went well, the doctors that were in on taking care of Quinn was questioned, and they all had testified saying that they had found a drug in Quinn that stopped the medication that was intended to help the disease from working when they did the autopsy.
And images of Quinn laying restless flashed through Puck's mind.
Also, the nurse that helped Shelby also testified and said what she knew, and by the looks of things Shelby wasn't very pleased by it. Neither Rachel or Puck was called, since the judge extended the case, since there was more evidence to be found. So both of them knew it was going to happen the next time they go, and they wished they could have avoided that.
They decided on going to starbucks to have a drink before returning to Puck's apartment, Rachel's bodyguard, Mike still remained with them.
"You know we never really talk about you right?" Puck said breaking the silence between them.
Rachel nodded her head. "I guess that's you asking to know more about me?"
Puck licked his lips and leaned back against the chair. Forgetting about everything, Rachel's mind wandered to his lips, she loved it so much when he did that and he knew it.
"Well, as you know I am a Secret Millionaire, my current project is you, but I'm going to find a new project now. Since we are together. I am thinking about doing my own album. I want to go on world tours and show the world how good I am."
He nodded his head but said nothing. Waiting for her to continue.
"When I was a little girl, I was so close with my parents. As you know I was adopted, and right now isn't the time to talk about that, but as I grew up I always wanted to be a broadway star, and everyone at school always brought me down, I was the school geek."
"You? The school geek?" He said clearing his throat.
"Believe it or not people didn't like me. But when I finished school, graduated at NYADA and did my first off broadway show everything seemed clear to me. I knew I was meant to do this. And I'm a very good singer so I thought why just show that through Broadway? I can make my own album so I'm working on that. That's pretty much my life story. I was a total diva and never had friends, I had one boyfriend but he was a total jerk."
Puck was listening to the words coming out of Rachel's mouth so intensely. "I would have never treated you like a jerk. I can't believe people treated you like that."
"Yeah but now, I rub it in their faces, like Kurt said I should. They are still in Ohio, working at garages and malls while I'm here."
"Wait Ohio?" Puck was surprised. He didn't know she lived in Ohio.
"Yes, I went to Carmel High, so did Kurt. And Jesse as well." Rachel looked at Puck, completed astonished by the look on his face.
"I can't believe it, I went to Mckinley High, with Tina, Mike, Quinn, Santana, Brittany and even Blaine. We were so close to each other. That explains-"
Rachel held her hand up. "I know where you want to take that conversation so please stop there. We are not meant to talk about her, she is going to rule our lives Noah, and we don't want that."
"Now I get the diva part." Puck joked and Rachel threw him with a flower that was in the vase on the table. Puck blew her a kiss, and pulled his phone out of his pocket when he received a text.
"Hey Rach, I have to go, there's a problem with the stock at work, will you mind staying with Santana and Beth?"
"Of Course." Puck got up, and Rachel followed him outside, paying the bill. They both headed in different directions, Puck took a cab too his store and Rachel drove to Puck's apartment.
That was the first time she has opened up to someone. And she was glad it was Puck she did it with.
