Onto chapter 11. This chapter carries on a few months after the previous one so there is a bit of a time jump

Chapter 11: Taking chances

(It had been two months since Emma had returned home to her flat however she was alone since Gina had moved out to live with Jeff. However she and Emma had met up for a catch up and to discuss wedding plans)

"You never did tell me why you came back home" Gina glanced at her friend as she sipped her coffee

"I told you. Ruby, the daughter went back to boarding school, Michael the eldest moved out and they thought they didn't need me for just the youngest. Plus I always knew it was just a summer time job" Emma lied through her teeth. Gina glanced at Emma but she didn't press her. Plenty of time for that

"So how are wedding plans" Emma changed the subject and Gina carried on chatting about this great dress she had seen although it was too much money. Emma checked her phone and realised she had a text message from an old school friend she had asked to the wedding however he had plans that evening

"Who`s that?" Gina glanced at Emma

"Oh just Jamie. I just wanted to know if he had plans the weekend of your wedding. I just thought we could go together…" Emma sucked in a breath and glanced at Gina

"With Jamie?. Emma you can do so much better than him. Last time I saw Jamie he was making out with some random girl. No you stay with me and I'll find you someone" Gina looked proud of herself however Emma knew Gina`s types and thought it would be better if she went alone. However she felt her phone vibrating again and glancing down at the text messages realised it was from Michael, saying that Jacob wasn't so well and that Josie was acting crazy going drinking and that he had him since his father lost custody. Could she come and help

"Gina I have to go. Somebody texted me about a job interview" Emma lied again

"Who?" Gina glanced at her through her glasses

"Nobody you know. Look I HAVE to go" Emma stressed picking up her bag and leaving a tip left the café however Gina knew something was up. Emma hadn't been the same since she left from her summer job and Gina knew that wasn't like her friend and wanted to get to the bottom of it. However first she had to try wedding dresses and bridesmaids dresses then she would see what was happening with Emma. Also leaving a tip she lifted her sunglasses on top of her head and made her way from the café not noticing the looks some of the men were giving her. Of course Gina was used to that

(Later that evening Josie and Layla were out again on one of their many nights out since the divorce, Josie said it was a good way of coping but Layla was worried about her especially about Jacob)

"Are you sure you're ok with that amount of wine" Layla glanced at the many glasses surrounding the bar. Josie nodded sharply

"I`m fine" she slurred "Better to be here than to be with *hic* him" she groaned.

"But Jacob" Layla trailed off. She was worried for the youngest of the Schuester clan and even though it was nothing to do with her she knew what a divorce could do to children. She had seen that through Ruby`s antics at boarding school

"Michael can look after him. I`m paying him after all even though I shouldn't. He is his brother after all" Josie murmured. "Hey I know. Let`s dance!" she grinned grabbing Layla`s hand and dragging her friend to the dance floor where there were a few other men also dancing but they were also looking for a few women too and one of them had their eye on Josie

"Hey why don't you get cosy with me" one of them slurred moving all over Josie who giggled slightly

"Oooh your fun. I think I will like you" Josie giggled moving closer to the man who started to move closer to Josie,, however this was a bit close for Layla`s case and she started to move towards the pair however she was hounded off by the second male who was stood next to Josie`s dance partner

"Back off. Can't you see my friend is only looking for a bit of fun" he smirked "I can see your friend is desperate but those are the ones that he likes"

"You make me sick" Layla spat out and was looking around for a bouncer she could see so that he could break the pair up before Josie did something that she regretted, at the moment he was whispering into Josie`s ear and Layla knew he wasn't asking what was 2 x2 was. Desperate she carried on looking around however the next thing she knew was the male head first on the ground and Mark standing over him his fist held high

"Josie you ok" Mark glanced at Will's ex wife who was staring at Mark wide eyed

"Come on" Mark grabbed her and then Layla followed the pair who tapped Mark on the shoulder who looked at Layla surprised

"I was with Josie" Layla shrugged and gave a smile to Mark "I think we should go back to my flat. Let her drink it off and then maybe we can talk" Mark nodded as they left the bar leaving the 2 drunken men trying to sort themselves out from when Mark had threw the punch

(Emma had arrived and was in the same hotel where Will and Josie had their ball however that felt like a lifetime ago. Now she was texting Michael to ask where they should meet so they could discuss Jacob. He answered go to the sea front just outside the hotel and he would meet her there. Confused Emma had agreed however she was having a drink before she met Michael)

"Can I have a small soda please" Emma informed the bartender who nodded. She had decided she wasn't drinking as she wanted to make sure her head was clear before she met up with Michael. The bartender then handed her the soda

"Thank you" Emma replied and was sipping it slowly when she noticed someone sit next to her

"So your back. Didn't think it would take long for you to get your claws into Will. You nice girls are always the same play innocent and then when the guy is available you get him" Amanda drawled

"I thought you said that you hated Will because he was some womanizer and I`m here for Jacob actually. Michael texted me asking for help. So no I am not here for Will" Emma replied feeling annoyed. Maybe Josie was right about Amanda after all

"We shall see. Six months and I bet you two are together. There was always something funny with you two at those balls. Its Josie I feel sorry f- actually I don't. She split me and Mark up so now it's nice for her to have a taste of her own medicine. See you around" Amanda spitefully said as she stood up from her stool and made her way out of the hotel door. Emma then paid for her soda and made her way also out of the hotel and made her way to the sea front where she waited for Michael. Twenty minutes passed and he still hadn't arrived which made Emma a bit worried. Then she saw a figure in the distance someone who Emma hadn't seen but always made her heart flutter

"Will!" her face dropped with shock "What are you doing here!"

"I should ask you the same question" Will replied puzzled "Michael said he would meet me here said Jacob wasn't feeling so good and wanted some help"

"I got the same text…" Emma trailed off as she realised they both had been tricked by Michael

"I suppose maybe we should go to the hotel bar while we are here" Emma shrugged "I mean I was already here beforehand"

"I would like to catch up" Will smiled as he followed Emma back to the hotel

Next time

Emma and Will reconnect and Emma realises that Will is the one she should be asking to the wedding. But is she too late? Meanwhile Layla and Mark regroup Josie who realises she needs to get her life back together

And done. That naughty Michael heh Anyway next chapter should be done sometime this weekend but the chapter after might be a bit later as I have another eye op next week which is annoying but *shrugs*. Anyway please review and I should update soon.
