Hey there guys, welp here's the first update that I decided on just because so far it seems to be the best written one out of the three lol. Although I will admit this did take a lot longer to update than it should and for that I am very sorry for that. So without a further ado let us get onto the story. Shigesato Itoi is the sole owner of Earthbound. I only own any OC's that are included within this story. Alright then now that the disclaimer is out of the way let us move on to the story.

Chapter 9-Destinies Revealed

Kai's P.O.V

Darkness. That was all that I could see. Nothing but never-ending darkness.

"Am I dead?" I must have said something funny because I heard a giggle reverberate throughout the entire space.

"Not yet little one. You are simply unconscious that's all. However you are dangerously walking down that path."

It was the same voice that I had heard before. "Oh, good, I guess? Wait….I'M DYING!?"

"Yes, but do not worry. I have a feeling that you will be just fine."

Normal P.O.V

The entire room was silent. On the far side, a figure was stirring from its unwanted slumber.

Leon slowly but surely rose to his full stature. He stumbled a bit and hissed in pain as he felt the effects of his previous battle take toll. "That damn kid. I never expected him to lose his shit like that."

He took few steps before falling to one knee in pain. "Goddamnit. He got me pretty good with that last attack."

Leon managed to get back to his feet when he spotted Kai's worn out body on the ground near him. He let a slight smirk come his face. "Serves you right you little nuisance. I knew that the master would take…care…of..you."

Leon quickly became silent as he observed the room around him. So much destruction and ruin. What really unnerved him though was the crater in the wall, or more precisely what was lying in front of it. It was the unconscious form of Goru himself. "Master…Goru?"

He tried step away from the scene in front of him, but stumbled and fell as he was moving back. "N-No way. How is this possible?" Leon couldn't stop his body from shaking. There was no one who was stronger than Goru, well except for the bosses of course. "Who could've?" He stopped mid-sentence and looked at the fallen Kai.

"No way. Did that kid really manage to?" Leon continued to stare at Kai, starting to break out into a cold sweat. This kid not only manage to defeat him, but the strongest creature in the whole building.

"I need to take care of this kid before he becomes an even bigger nuisance." Leon said. He moved towards Kai, flexing his fingers with each step. He stopped right besides Kai and raised his talons over the boy's head. "Please forgive me master, but this kid is too dangerous to bring in alive."

Leon prepared to deliver the final blow, but paused at the sound of footsteps. The sound reverberated throughout the entire room. Leon looked towards the the door to see a new figure standing in front of the hole. "Well, I hope I'm not interrupting anything." Leon observed the man now standing in front of him.

He was a well-built man with messy brown hair. He was wearing a black suit jacket with a white undershirt. His shoes clacked against the floor as he made his way further into the room. Some slight chin stubble adorned his face along with a slight smile. His eyes seemed calm but Leon could tell there was something else behind them. What it was though he could only guess right now at this point. Leon's gaze fell upon the shiny badge that adorned the man's jacket and his eyes lit up with recognition at the badge. A growl escaped from his mouth as he continued to stare at the man that was approaching.

"What the hell is a OCPD officer doing here?" The man stopped a couple of steps away, his face not changing expression at all.

"Hello there, I'm gonna have to ask you to step away from the child and surrender." Leon's entire body tensed as the man continued to speak. "Otherwise I will be authorized to use any means necessary to subdue you."

Leon was searching for any way to escape, but it seemed pointless. This man, whoever he was, vastly outclassed him. He had only one option.

The officer's eyes narrowed as he watched Leon's every movement. The two continued to stare at each other, both waiting for someone to make a move. In an instant, Leon whirled around as the muscles in his right leg drastically grew. He raised it up to bring his talons down on the boy's head. "DIE!"

The officer reacted in record time, quickly clearing the distance between them and implanting his elbow right into Leo's side. A resounding crack was heard throughout the entire room. An expression of intense pain was present on Leon's face as he felt his ribs break from the attack.

He sailed across the room and impacted against the wall before falling to the ground. The officer kept his elbow out before letting out a sigh and straightening his posture. "I might have used a little too much power, but I did warn you beforehand. Any means necessary."

He heard a buzzing come from the communicator in his ear. "Yes? Ah, you found two hostages huh? Are they safe? Is that so? Ah, great work Kat. Did you manage to locate Luke as well? Excellent. Hmm, another hostage? Really?

The officer looked down at Kai's ragged form. The boy's left arm was completely burnt. It looked like it had some breaks and fractures in it as well. The gash on his head was slowly forming a pool of blood below it. His clothes were burnt in various places along with a couple of tears in the fabric here and there. This boy had obviously been in some sort of scuffle. "You don't say? Well don't worry Kat, all hostages have been accounted for and the fiends who committed this travesty have been taken care of as well. Now please escort the hostages out of the building and call an ambulance."

The man's hands began to glow green. "I'll be there shortly."

Kai's P.O.V

"You know I don't think anything you say is gonna help me forget the fact that you just said I'm DYING!"

"Please calm yourself. I assure you that everything will be fine."

Needless to say, that didn't stop my incoherent muttering. "Please my child, trust me when I say that you will not die."

"Oh yeah what makes you so sure about that?"

Once again a giggle echoed throughout the entire space, except a bright light accompanied as well. The entire space was lit up as grass began to spread out around my feet. Next thing I knew, I was in a grassy field filled with flowers.

Before I could voice my thoughts a blinding bright light began to descend from the sky. I put my hands up to try and block out the light. It began to dim a bit allowing me to lower my hands. Once the light was completely gone, what stood before me was breathtaking.

It was a woman, no no that word didn't fit. A goddess had basically appeared in front of me. This woman had long flowing silver hair that waved in the air even though there was no wind. She was wearing a green dress that had various patterns on it that looked like plant-life. Looking at her eyes was like looking at the setting sun. The most striking thing about her was her skin though. It was completely gray but shined like it was made of metal. There was a constant light around her that fluctuated colors just like a rainbow. I was speechless to say the least.

"I wouldn't be a very good guardian if I wasn't so sure about it." Her voice was even more calming now that he could place where it was coming from. Wait a minute. "Guardian?"

Normal P.O.V

At Kai's home, his mom was pacing around the living room, an expression of panic present on her face. It was very late and 3 out of 4 of her children were missing. What rational mother wouldn't be panicking in this situation. She had managed to put Karou to sleep safe and sound in his bed, but right after had called the police to try and track them down.

Unfortunately the kids would have to be missing for longer than 24 hours before a missing child report could be filled. However they did say they would keep their eyes peeled. "Maybe you are overreacting Delilah." Delilah let a sigh out and collapsed on the couch.

"Maybe they lost track of the time. I should really get that boy a watch, or a phone." She was contemplating between the two when she spotted a family picture. She picked it up and looked at it with fondness. It was her and the family standing together outside the house. She focused on the oldest male in the picture, her husband.

She let out a mournful sigh. "I wish you were still here, to help me through this." Her reminiscing was halted by the ringing of her phone. She got up and answered it. "Hello. Oh Maria? What, the news? What about it?" A single sentence was all it took for Delilah's eyes to widen in terror before she quickly rushed over to grab the remote. She silently prayed it wasn't true as she quickly turned the T.V on. What she saw caused her heart to freeze in terror.

"Three PK agents managed to arrive and save everyone who had been held hostage within the hideout. Almost all of the thugs had been arrested and accounted for, including the leader of the group who police officers have been searching for these last few years. The rogue alien known as Goru." The newswoman continued as she cleared her throat. "However, three hostages were found, one who was luckily healed, the other having to be sent to the hospital in a near critical condition." Delilah dropped the phone that was in her hand as she looked at Kai's picture on the T.V.

Everything else was tuned out as Delilah began to hyperventilate. Everything around her had began to darken. It was her husband all over again. She couldn't take it. Various flashes of different images flooded her mind. She couldn't breathe.

"Mama?"

Delilah was brought back to her senses at the small voice. She looked behind her to see Karou with his little white bear scrunched up against his chest. His brown hair was suffering from a bad case of bed head. He was currently adorned in cute little pajamas that were based off one his favorite tv shows.

"Karou, what are you doing up?" Delilah asked.

He gave a cute little yawn before wiping at his eyes. "I heard a loud noise that really scared me."

Delilah quickly realized that the phone must have been the cause of the loud noise.. "Ah, sorry honey, mommy's grip on the phone must have slipped. I didn't mean to wake you."

She quickly turned the T.V off and picked up the phone and hung it back up. Delilah than went to Karou and picked him up. "Here I'll tuck you in again ok?" Karou nodded his head and rested against his mother's shoulder. Delilah quietly carried the child back to his room, a storm of emotions still brewing within her.

Kai's P.O.V

What the heck did she mean by guardian. In fact just where the heck was I. There was so many questions that were running through my head.

"I see that you finally managed to calm down."

"Eh?" I dumbly responded.

This caused the woman in front of me to giggle. Her laughter for some reason put me at ease. I don't know why, but I just felt like I could trust her.

"Who are you?" I asked.

Her face quickly went from amused to serious. "Someone who wishes to protect the world."

Before I could ask what she meant she raised her hand, indicating that she wanted me to be quiet. "I know you must have many questions but we have little time, and there is much for us to discuss."

She put her hand on her chest. "My name is Talia, sacred guardian of the realm of Magicant and overseer of Earth, and you, Kai Takashima, are one of the chosen children who will protect this world from a terrible evil."

"What?"

With a quick wave of her hand, the landscape around me darkened and an image began to form beside us.

"Long ago, three children came together to stop an alien known as Giegue from taking over our world. It was only because of Magicant's previous ruler, Queen Mary, or Maria as she was originally known as, and her motherly kindness she showed towards Giegue that their victory was possible."

As she talked various image began to appear each one having one thing in common. A kid in a cap was shown in each one.

"However this would not be the last time the Earth would be in danger."

The image changed again this time showing a strange alien creature. Except something seemed to be wrong with it. Out of the corner of my eye I could barely see Talia's face. She seemed sad. "Years passed and eventually Giegue was driven mad with power and was consumed by his own emotions, thus transforming into a hideous monster."

The alien in the image let out a scream of pain before suddenly exploding into a red mist like aura. The aura writhed around as if it was alive before a hideous face formed from it.

"Giygas."

I could only stare in horror as the life form continuously groaned as if it was in constant pain. Eventually the entire image was completely swallowed by the creature before going completely black.

For awhile nothing else happened. I looked over at Talia and was surprised to see a lone tear streaking down her face. She wiped it away though and continued speaking.

"After Giygas's transformation he went on to conquer many planets, however an ancient prophecy caused Giygas to come back to Earth for another attempt to conquer it. However he was defeated by four children. I am sure you know who they were."

"Well yeah, If it weren't for Ness and his friends, Giygas would have probably killed us all." I said.

Talia nodded her head. "Yes, unfortunately he was only a small part of an even bigger evil." She looked at me, a determined look on her face. "One that you will eventually have to face, Kai. As the ancient prophecy has revealed to me."

"Wait, what do you mean ancient prophecy."

She waved her hands again causing more images to appear. "Giygas was part of a race of aliens known as Giygans. They were one of many species who discovered the wonders of PSI. However they were able to harness it to its fullest potential, becoming possibly the strongest race known to the universe,"

Different images flashed around each one depicting something different. One showed an entire fleet of spaceships hovering over the atmosphere of a planet. Small ships were flying out of the larger ones and were heading towards the surface.

"and they were determined to prove it."

Another image showed what looked like a village. Strange blue creatures were walking around, all of them slightly humanoid but I instantly knew they weren't humans. Everything seemed peaceful for the blue aliens until a random beam came flying down from the sky.

It struck a building, instantly causing it to explode. All of the aliens started to panic as multiple beams rained down from the sky, causing destruction and havoc throughout the entire village. Soon the ships responsible for the destruction came into view.

"For many years, the Giygan Empire has conquered and destroyed countless worlds, and they have brought many species to the brink of extinction."

A new image appeared this one showing strange grey creatures marching through what looked like a city, blasting whatever was in their sights. They were like machines, nothing but visors to show that they could see. More aliens, this time more beastly looking, were running in terror as the monsters continued to destroy their home.

"Many have tried to face them, but in the end it was pointless."

The image soon changed to two aliens, both sporting an extra set of arms, rushing at a silhouetted figure. They were quickly blasted away by what I recognized as a PK fire. Another image showed another silhouette, this one much bigger than the previous one. It was holding a body by the head in it's hand. I noticed that the body was completely limp.

"The Giygans are ruthless monsters who are determined to show their superiority,"

As I saw more images I quickly realized what I was looking at. This was was a glimpse at how horrible these creatures were. At how much destruction they could cause. This was the Giygan Empire.

"and they do not care what lives they take along the way."

The final image was the most disturbing one of all. This time it was a creature standing on a pile of bodies, as another city burned behind it. I could see this one clearly though unlike the other images. It was strangely humanoid, save for the lack of feet and it's oval like head. It's legs eventually ended at a point as they got closer to the ground. The two antennae on its head flowed down to the creatures spine. It had a wide smile on its face that showed off all of its teeth, each one sharp like a shark's. It was staring straight at whatever force was viewing it. It soon began to laugh before letting forth a purple beam of energy, engulfing the image before it went black.

I was still stunned at what I saw. How could a race be so set on doing something so evil. The worst thing about it was they seemed to be enjoying it,. My surroundings were starting to become brighter.

"Soon Kai this threat shall come to Earth, and it will be up to you and a certain few to stop it."

"WHAT!?"

"I know that what I am saying is hard to believe, but it is true." Talia waved one of her hands across the air causing it to ripple like waves in a lake. Another image appeared before me, this one showing four figures surrounded by thousand of others. " 'When the chosen four come together, they will unite their world and stop the Giygan's agent of terror.' This is the prophecy that is destined to happen, and you are one of the chosen."

Is she actually serious. The look on her face showed no signs of joking. She had to be though. There was just no way that this could be true.

She placed her hand on my shoulder. "I can see that you doubt my words, but what I have said is the truth. Otherwise you would not be able to hear my voice, nor would you be able to use the power that allowed you to defeat Goru."

I mulled over her words, and what she said did make some sense. Kai had seen people use their PK in unique and strange ways, but this power seemed different. He had never felt so powerful in his life. Just what was that strange power."I guess you're right. Speaking of, just what was that power?"

"The power that you were using is known as Origin PSI. It takes the thing you hold most dear to you and allows you to turn it into extraordinary power. When used, the user is able to push past their limits and unlock their full potential. It is an amazing power to possess. However the power places a huge toll on the user's body, and those who are inexperienced in using it will suffer ruinous damage to their physical and mental health."

"Wait, are you saying that power is the reason I'm dying?" She didn't need to speak to answer. The guilty expression on her face did it for her. "I am truly sorry, but that strength was the only way for you to beat Goru."

"Hey, don't worry. I guess it was worth it seeing how I was able win, but how am I going to be able to save the world if I end up near-dead everytime I use this power?

"With time your body will adapt to the power, but for now you must use the power in small doses. Right now your body cannot handle long usage of it."

I scratched the back of my head. "Alright, so I have an insane power that can kill me if used for too long, and apparently I am one out of four chosen to apparently save the world. I'm just going to roll with it and believe you, but there is supposed to be four of us. Why am I the only one here?"

"Unfortunately you are the only one I have been able to contact so far, your determination to save your family is what allowed for me to connect your mind with this space. The others though have yet to establish such a connection though."

"So I guess it's gonna be up to me to hunt them down huh? That's gonna be a impossible for one kid to do all by himself."

"Do not worry child. Although I have not been able to directly contact them, I have managed to gain glimpses of said children. Enough so that I may be able to give you some hints about their whereabouts."

"Really, great go ahead and give them to me then."

"No."

I almost facefaulted from her answer. "What do you mean no! If you have information that can help me, then you need to tell me."

She shook her head in disapproval. "I am sorry, but right now having that information would do you no good. You simply do not have the power needed to seek them out right now. Your journey will pit you against opponents far superior to Goru. Until you manage to gain some semblance of control over your new power, you cannot be allowed search for the rest of the chosen children."

I had to admit, it stung a bit to be told I was too weak. A little defiant voice inside told me to object to what she was saying, but reason won out in the end.. In the end I barely managed to defeat Goru p. I hated it, but she was right. "Alright I get it, but how do you expect me to be able to master this power anyways."

"I have faith in your capabilities. Also, you will not be alone in this endeavor. Although we may not be able to see each other in this space again for a long period time, I will be able to maintain a direct link with your mind, allowing us to be able to communicate telepathically."

The smile she gave me was sincere and almsot motherly. "I will be by your side the entire way, Kai Takashima."

"Oh, well um….that's good to know." I hoped that she didn't see the blush on my cheeks, but her giggling made it even worse. All of a sudden I felt myself start to rise into the air. "Woah! WOAH! HEY WHAT'S HAPPENING!?"

"It would seem that are time together is over. There is more that I would like to discuss with you, but that will have to wait till a later date."

Talia continued to get farther and farther away. She gave me one last smile. "Good luck Kai Takashima."

Before I could reply, everything was covered in white.

Normal P.O.V

Kai awoke to a bright light entering his eyes. Everything was blurry but he was able to make out a figure through it all. It was a person. They had a on white coat along with a blue button up shirt and a striped tie. There was a stethoscope around their neck. Kai quickly realized that this was a doctor after putting all teh evidence together. She appeared to be female and her skin was slightly tanned. She was also the origin of the irritating light that was currently probing his eyes. Kai let out a slight groan and the doctor gave him a small smile.

"Thank goodness you are awake. We were all pretty worried for you. Especially your mother. Now then I recommend you try not to move much, your body is still recovering from all the damage it took."

Kai didn't need to be told twice. His entire body felt like he had hit a pole full force with his bike and then said pole had fallen on top of him. He tried to move himself up slowly. There was a sharp pain in his left arm that caused him to flinch. Kai looked over to see his arm in a cast. "Must have broken it sometime during the fight." Kai thought to himself.

"Please be careful, when we brought you in, you were basically teetering on the edge of death. You were lucky to have been found so quickly or you could've lost your life."

"Found?"

The doctor nodded at Kai. "Oh yes, you were found and rescued by one of Onett City's best PK agents."

"Oh you flatter me Charlotte." Kai was startled by the new arrival. A man had walked through the door. His hair was a chestnut brown and his eyes had a hazel color to them. He was wearing a black suit jacket and a white undershirt.

He gave Kai a calm smile. "Hey there kid." He slowly walked up to Kai's bed and pulled up a chair from nearby. He sat down and stared straight into Kai's eyes. "We need to have a little talk."

Next time on Earthbound Next Generations

Kai has awoken to find himself in the hospital and is quickly approached by the PK Agent that saved his life

"I have a proposition for you"

Kai has to make a difficult choice. One that will either help him or hinder him

"Leave...my family?

Next Time-Stay or Go/Kai's Indecision

I've decided to plan out an alotted time where I just sit down and start writing. No more putting it off. Anyways I also plan on putting out a another update chapter to tell you guys about the decision I made on my stories. Well that's all for now. See ya later. BYE!
