Chapter11 Sisterly Advice
Michelle had been living with her sisters for about two weeks now and had bonded nicely with both her sisters.
In that short time she noticed how good Bianca and Katie seem to be for each other Katie seem to be at peace with herself which made Michelle happy, but she couldn't help but think about Maya and how unhappy she was.
Katie told Michelle about the situation with Tori and Maya she was shocked when she heard what Maya was going through.
She felt like if Katie got her dream girl Maya at least deserved to get a second chance at getting hers.
Since it was Friday afternoon and Katie would be at Bianca's Michelle decided that this would be the perfect time to give Maya a bit of sisterly advice.
Michelle waited until Maya got home from school since she wasn't do back for another twenty minutes she decided to sit on her laptop and work on some new dance mixes for dance practice.
After mixing four tracks Maya had walked through the door.
"Michelle I'm home."
"Hey Maya you mind coming to the living room when you're comfortable."
"Yeah no problem Michelle."
A few minutes later Maya came down in a pair of black sweats.
"Whats up M?"
"Nothing I wanted to talk to you about something."
"Okay what?"
"I wanted to talk about whats going on with you and Tori."
"What we're okay now there's nothing to talk about."
"Maya don't play dumb with me we both know you want something more with Tori."
Maya showed a look of disgust she had learned in the short time her oldest sister had been around that when she wanted something she didn't give up til she got it.
"Fine Michelle you're right I'd give anything to have Tori as my girlfriend, but that's a dead issue because Tori wont even consider being my girlfriend especially with her new sisters Fiona and Bianca dead set on making me work for every second I have around Tori."
"Maya I've spoken to Bianca and she told me that her and Fiona would consider letting you date Tori if you show them they can trust you."
"How do I do that?"
"Maya when you really want someone you'll do whatever you have to show them you are the one."
"So you're saying I need a big grand gesture to show Tori I'm crazy about her?"
"Something like that."
"Thanks sis you just gave me an idea, can you drive me to the flower shop and the big bakery?"
"I can but why?"
"I'm going to shower Tori with gifts and treat her like the queen she is."
"Maya gifts are a start they're not endgame."
"I know but its the least I could do to see if there is a chance of us dating."
After Michelle changed into a black t-shirt and jeans with matching sneakers she drove Maya a flower shop that belonged to a couple that had lived on the Matlin's block.
Michelle gave Maya he bank card to buy the roses and candy she wanted.
Maya brought a dozen red roses and a box of double chocolate hearts to surprise Tori with.
"Wow kiddo you want Tori bad double chocolate hearts and long stem roses."
"Shes worth it after all it works in the movies."
"If you say so My."
The rest of the drive over to the Coyne loft Maya ran through what she would say to Tori and the other Coynes about wanting to be with Tori or even if Tori would want her back.
When they finally pulled up to the loft Maya took a deep breath before going up.
"Ready Maya?"
"Ready as Ill ever be lets go."
Once they got up to door of the loft Maya didn't know what to do she was just frozen.
"I can't do this lets go home."
Maya Matlin you spent $200 on flowers and candy Ill drag you in there myself if you run." Michelle said getting angry.
"Alright you knock then."
Michelle knocked on the door and when it opened both Matlins were greeted by Bianca who was wearing a pair of red lounge shorts with a black t-shirt.
"Michelle what can I do for you?"
Nothing for me B I actually came with Maya because she wanted to talk to your little sister."
"Alright she can see her but if she upsets her shes gone."
"Fine."
Maya and Michelle walked into the living room where Tori and Katie were watching a movie.
"Tor you have a guest." Bianca said as Tori looked away from the TV noticing Maya.
"Maya what are you doing here?"
"Tori its been weeks since we've spoken in person and I cant do this anymore I want to prove to you that you're the one I want and I'm going to spend the rest of my life proving it to you."
"Maya you say I'm it for you but how do I know you wont hurt me again?"
"Tori I wont I just want one more chance, I even got you your favorite chocolates and flowers to tell you how sorry I am."
Tori accepted the gifts from Maya.
"Maya this is sweet but if we are going to try this for real there are some ground rules."
"Ill do anything Tori name it and its done."
"Alright first if I catch you as much as thinking of cheating on me we are done".
"Okay fine."
Second we keep no secrets from each other we are always honest about everything."
"Done."
"There's one more rule and that is we go at my speed."
"Of course anything you want."
"Well what are you waiting for Matlin come sit with your girlfriend."
Maya and Michelle joined the rest of the girls on the couch to finish the movie marathon.
"So B where are Fiona and Imogen?" Michelle asked.
"They went to spend time at Imogen's mom's house they are taking care of her dad."
That's cool so are they staying in Toronto once the girls are born?"
"No they want to raise the girls in New York." Katie interjected.
"Oh so what does that mean for you and Bianca?"
"Well I applied to a few schools in New York to study sports journalism".
"So if you get in you're gone?"
"Yeah its time I got out and did some exploring."
"I get it besides if you do get in it will mean I can go back to New York and reopen my dance studio."
"Well at least we know two of us are big apple bound if Maya gets that music scholarship and straightens out her grades she should be gone to." Katie mentioned.
"So I guess the Matlins next stop is New York." Michelle said.
"I cant wait to see whats up next for all of us." Maya said placing a soft kiss on Tories cheek.
"It had been one eventful afternoon for Maya but in the end she got what she wanted and that was Tori as her girlfriend with the help of some sisterly advice.
