True to his word, they went for a morning run after eating their breakfast. Their eyes would twinkle at anything they haven't seen in a long time and they jogged slowly, relishing the view of the vast sea, so blue and calm and the sound of the waves crashing against the rocks.

It was such a breather; a getaway from the noisy and cramped city to a calm and peaceful place actually does something for the soul. It is relaxing and it's like all their worries faded away. All they wanted to do is to enjoy their remaining days on this beach.

After a few rounds, they rested for a while before sitting on the shore feeling the waves hit their calves, the sand underneath their feet being swept away. It had a wonderful effect on their body; the water easing the tense muscles.

The idle chit chat was boring Aomine out. He got up stealthily intending to push Kuroko into the sea but what he didn't expect was that Kuroko was swift on his feet and stepped to the side before Aomine crashed into him, making the ganguro collide into Akashi instead, pushing him into the water. Apparently, he wasn't stealthy enough.

Akashi was of course, drenched and taken in by surprise. He looks as though he has a cloud above his head, his bangs covering his eyes. Suddenly, he smirked slyly before tackling Aomine down and pushing his head underwater and releasing it only after Aomine was struggling to breathe. He snickered when Aomine had to gulp a few breath of air.

"Anyone else?" Akashi threatened.

The next thing he knew was trying to get away from the shore as far as possible when he saw all of them come rushing towards him, making huge water splashes. Everyone was happily splashing water at each other, shouting and flailing when they tripped. It was a wonderful day. They let go of their uptight life in school, in the city, to enjoy this trip.

By the time they were done playing in the sea, it was noon. The sun was high, the light was blaring that they would turn as red as lobsters if they don't get into the shade soon and suffer painful sunburns (but Aomine doesn't mind).

Kise was complaining loudly about the redness of his skin. 'Why didn't I put enough sunblock?', 'Oh my god, it's flaking!' and 'I look terrible!' were being heard.

"Just shut up, Kise. You look fine." Aomine grumbled.

Kise continued to ramble off before entirely shutting up when he heard Kuroko say, "You look fine as always, Kise-kun. There's nothing for you to worry about."

Needless to say, there were two very jealous individuals, one flushed blond and an oblivious teal head.

Lunch was delicious and fun. All of them helped to do the dishes, each being assigned something to do. It's been a while since they've whipped something up together and they are having loads of fun, eating off the already done food with dirty hands, throwing waste ingredients at each other.

It was fun, they had to admit. When Midorima's glasses slipped off and he banged the fridge because he turned too fast to avoid an accident or when Kuroko had to shake his head to get the stuff off his hair (his hands were dirty from cutting meat).

The cooking done by Murasakibara was mouthwatering as their tummies grumbled. They quickly dug in before everything was gone. Kuroko feels full but he couldn't eat anymore and that would be a waste of their efforts. Akashi saw the nauseating look and ate the teal head's leftover. Kuroko mouthed a thank you and smiled gratefully. The redhead can definitely feel himself going gaga over Kuroko.

Just a little longer. Hang in there, Seijuurou.

He couldn't help but feel nervous. It's almost time for that. Sure, he knows how Kuroko feels and how he feels. But it's the first time in so long that he's done something like this.

The time has come...

"Close your eyes, Tetsuya." Akashi asked. He tied a black cloth acting as a blindfold to prevent him from seeing.

Now, all it takes is to have Akashi lead Kuroko to the sandy beach and set him on the ground. He frowned when the ground is unsteady that he feared Kuroko may just trip and fall.

"Climb up." Akashi said. Kuroko yelped when he felt himself getting lifted off the ground, his fear heightened when he couldn't see anything except darkness. He automatically wrapped his arms around Akashi's neck.

Kuroko could hear the waves and smell the sea. He could feel the breeze as his hair blows with the direction. He could feel Akashi's unsteady heartbeat; he could feel his own fast heartbeat too.

After a while, he set Kuroko down. He intertwined their fingers together and pulled him to the middle of the sandy beach.

"We're here, Tetsuya."

Kuroko took his blindfold off, adjusting his eyes to the light. He was entranced by the beauty of the sight. He felt hot and unsteady because this is the same feeling from back then. He thinks he's about to tear, he sniffled.

"I.. I don't know what to say. This is the exact same thing from back then. What is this supposed to mean?" He asked. He doesn't want to be too hopeful but he can't exactly contain his feelings at the moment.

Akashi smiled. "Open them, Tetsuya. You will understand everything. But, there is a sequence this time round. Follow it from the red roll-up to the end of the other one."

He tentatively took a step forward and opened the red piece of rolled paper stuck in the sand.

Kuroko Tetsuya,

I'm sorry for everything I have done.

Another one.

I am never one to speak of feelings but with you,

I feel safe like I can come out of my own confinements.

And another.

You managed to do that in a short time.

No one has ever tried.

Another.

I truly regretted everything I have done to you and

I deserve exact treatment. However, you didn't.

He read on.

I made it up to you by taking care of you,

showering you with love, and loving you.

You did the same for me, but I haven't been someone worthy.

and on.

Memories are precious, just like you are.

Even though you didn't remember, your heart does.

Tetsuya.

And finally.

Today, after all the unnecessary notes, I just wanted to tell you that…

"I love you." Akashi hugged Kuroko from behind, whispering those words into Kuroko's ears.

After all this while, both of us were hopelessly in love yet unsure. It was strong but we thought we needed time. We didn't say but, we can feel. I am touched by this; no words are going to express anything. I'm glad. I never had to fault you, Akashi-kun. You were the way you are from the start, and in the end, you're still all the same. Your hurt wasn't intentional, I didn't take it to heart. However, I can still feel your kindness at times. Thank you, Akashi-kun. I love you too, Seijuurou.

Kuroko was overwhelmed by feelings. No, the little notes didn't make him feel so much. It was the effort, the care that Akashi had put in to getting everything done to perfection to impress him. Everything had been thoughtfully planned out, just for him.

He opened his mouth but nothing came out. He wants to say so much. So, so much. But he couldn't.

Akashi waited patiently. Kuroko looked as though he is having a nervous breakdown. It was just a confession… did he really have to react like this? Ah, but he always looks like this when he received something lovely. Kuroko doesn't know how to react properly to some situations and that being the one he currently is in now.

Letting out a breath of air and staring straight into Kuroko's eyes, Akashi said, "Everything was planned not just by me, but by everyone. All of this contains the love from everyone, especially from me. The days spent with you were beautiful but at the same time, the guilt was eating me. I couldn't bear to hurt you Tetsuya.

These little papers are just for keepsake, the words that are coming out of my mouth would've taken more courage for me to say. I really hold you dear, Tetsuya. You kept your faith in me and did everything for me. Going all out for someone like me truly struck a nerve. You're always there for me. This time, it will be me who is always there for you, being there by your side."

He didn't know when he closed his eyes because when he opened it, he saw a flood of emotions in the pale blue orbs. Tetsuya doesn't need to say anything, because Akashi knows. Akashi always knows.

Akashi lifted Kuroko's chin and kissed him on the lips, lightly. They lingered for a moment, before Akashi pulled back. He felt a pair of arms encircling his body. He smiled as he ruffled the teal blue hair.

"…ve you."

"What?" Akashi said, not hearing it clearly. (He heard it alright.)

Kuroko shot up as he squished Akashi's face (something he did on impulse) before he confessed, "I love you too, Sei-kun! Stop doing that to me. My heart seriously can't take all these mushiness, you know…"

Akashi chuckled before waving it off. "You love it alright."

"I love you."

"And I love you too."

"So what are we now?"

"Whatever you want us to be, Tetsuya."

Kuroko grinned.

"Then I would like us to be forever."

Akashi kissed Kuroko once again. This time, it was a little longer and he had a cheeky grin on.

"Forever."

And there you have it! The ending for Forgotten Memories. I tried to do a decent job on it and I can't help but cringe at myself either. Kuroko has never blamed Akashi and loves him for whoever he is. He is still Akashi afterall. Times were tough back then and now that they have each other again, they will always back up one another and be there for one another. The display for Kuroko is a little excessive but that's how Akashi wants to show his love to Kuroko. It worked out afterall.

Thank you guys for always being so patient. Thank you for all the reviews, favourites and follows. They really keep me going. I hope it will be alright. I don't really like to do long author's notes (because I get pretty awkward..) but it's really wonderful to know that there will be people appreciating my works. Thank you guys once again! Please don't get annoyed if I kept repeating thank yous! Again, I just posted a new story. It just hit me when I failed to concentrate in class. Do check it out!

Enjoy!
