1 To the guest reviewer, who asked why Kate didn't just say it was Castle, when she told Aiden about the boyfriend thing. She wanted but got scared, after Aiden said he didn't want to him, bc she knew he liked Rick and didn't want to destroy the friendship...
# 2 I'm not really sure where this story should end, so please tell me your opinion.
# 3

# 4 Thank you Vanille :)

Now have fun reading and I still don't own anything, who would have thought?

The week went by quickly, Castle texted Beckett a lot and she responded when she had time.
It was a late Thursday afternoon when Rick's phone rang. He was just preparing dinner for Alexis and him, so it took him a bit to answer the call, but as soon as he saw who was calling, he didn't care about the food anymore.

"Hey Kate" He said warmly, he loved their talks, though she was calling early today.
Normally they waited until their kids where asleep.

"Hey Castle, sorry that I disturb, but it looks like there'll be a change of our plans tomorrow. I just got a case, which will probably go to court first thing on Monday morning and I have no idea how to manage that all, meeting with my client, visiting the crime scene.-" Kate rambled, she felt guilty, but she had no other choice.

"Kate calm down I'm sure we'll find another day." Castle reassured her, still he was a bit disappointed.

"No actually. I don't think we have to. I already told Aiden about the afternoon and he was so excited, if I talk to him this evening and explain that it'll be just you, Alexis and him I'm sure he'll understand and the three of you can have the afternoon we've planned." Kate suggested with a bit of hope in her voice.

"That sounds great, do you think you'll be able to join us for dinner and maybe a movie?" Castle asked, already re-planning tomorrow's schedule.
They chatted shortly, but none of them had really time, so they decided to talk this evening again.

Kate got home just in time to tuck Aiden in, his grandfather had been with him today.

"Hey my big boy. How was your day?" Kate asked as she walked into his room, where Aiden was reading a Batman comic

"Hey mommy, you made it" Her little son cheered, his eyes lighting up.

"Of course I'd promise you to be at home to tuck you in. " She sat down next to him on his bed and kissed his head.
"But I have to tell you something though." Kate waited 'til she had Aiden's attention
"I probably won't make it to the play date with Alexis and Rick tomorrow, but if it's okay with you. Rick would take you and Alexis to the museum and after that we'll meet for dinner and maybe a movie." Kate explained and Aiden smiled.

"Yeah I'm sure it'll be great. I can't wait to see the dinosaurs and all those stuff." Beckett had to laugh at Aiden's excitement it was sweet, seeing her boy like this.
She wished her job wouldn't take so much of her time, as it did. The time could be used so much better, if she'd just spend it with her son. After she kissed him goodnight and waited until he fell asleep, she went into her office to work a bit more on her case.

Rick was standing outside of the school, a bit nervous, since it would be the first time he was alone with Aiden and the fact that he wanted the day to be perfect for the little boy didn't help at all. But he hadn't much time to think about this, because his sweet daughter was running up to him, grinning like she just got the best Christmas gift.

"Daddy!" she shouted over the whole entrance and jumped into his arms

"Hey pumpkin" Rick greeted and kissed her cheek.
"How was school?" He asked as he put her down.

"Let's not talk about school, let's go over the plan we made for today. I forgot I want to see the mummies, too. Do you think we still can see them, or isn't there enough time?" Alexis rambled and Castle grinned, she really had to be excited, if she didn't even want to talk about her school day.

"You know, we just have to wait and see. Maybe you could ask Aiden what he would like to see and the two of you decide then, what we'll visit? " Rick suggested and Alexis nodded eagerly.
Rick talked with his daughter a while, until he saw Aiden coming out of the school with three other boys, probably just as old as he was. Rick waved him and saw how the boy's face lit up. Aiden shouted to his friends and started to run the last few steps to them.

"Hey Alexis, hey Rick. Thanks for taking me to the museum today." The little brown head said as polite as always, but meanwhile Rick knew he always needed a few minutes to warm up and be the little crazy boy.

"Hey Aiden, ready to go? " Castle asked and Aiden nodded.
Then Alexis began telling him the whole plan she and her father made yesterday instead of reading a bed time story. He heard how the two children laughed and giggled and was a bit afraid they would conspire against him, but this wasn't the case. Both of them were real angles.
They went to have lunch and then headed straight to the exhibition. The little kids were so fascinated, they sometimes were really speechless. Rick found it adorable, he took a lot of photos sending them straight to Kate, and she responded wen she had time, or sent him pictures of her paperwork.

The first real conversation he had with Aiden again, was at the gift shop of the museum. "Hey Aiden, want to bring your mom a little gift, showing her what she missed?" Rick asked softly while Alexis was already off, searching for another plush animal.

"Mhhh… you think she would like something? I don't want her to be sad, because she missed it." Aiden said thoughtful, it was always important to him that his mummy was happy.

"Yeah I think she'll like it. " Rick assured him, but he had to smile at the thoughtfulness of Kate's son.

"Okay." He smiled and run off to Alexis. When they came back Alexis had a plush monkey and a plush dinosaur. Aiden had a book about Egypt and the mummies.

"Alexis we said one thing only, you know that. Aiden you can get yourself something too, you know?" Rick said. Aiden answered first

"Yeah thank you, but Mommy and I both like the same so I think that's enough and it cost fifteen dollars, I'm actually not allowed to go over ten." Aiden explained, still smiling.

As soon as Aiden was finished Alexis started talking "The monkey isn't for me, it's for Gram, remember we told her to bring her a gift. " Alexis reminded her dad, and Rick had to chuckle, of course how could he forget?
"Aiden do you want to bring your Gram something, too? I'm sure Daddy won't mind" Alexis offered innocently.
But Aiden's smile fell and he suddenly looked really sad. Alexis didn't notice, but Rick did. Though he didn't know why.

So Castle changed the subject. "What do you say, we'll pay for the things and have a surprise visit at Kate's office?" Rick suggested and both children agreed smiling. Castle knew he wasn't disturbing Kate, they just texted and she said she'd be finished in about 45 minutes. Form the museum to the office 35 minutes would needed. So they were perfect in time to pick Kate up.

Beckett was just about to grab her stuff and leave, when there was a knock on the door. She sighed, all she wanted to do was get her things and meet her son at Rick's.

"Yes" She stated, trying to hide her annoyance.

"Surprise!" Aiden and Alexis shouted and Kate had to laugh. They were adorable and Rick was standing with a big smile on his face. Aiden ran to hug Kate and she lifted him up, while Rick and Alexis slowly walked in.

"I thought it would be more fun, to walk to my loft with company." Rick stated simply and Kate nodded. This was perfect, and again she had the feeling as it was her family picking her up. She wanted to get used to it, so badly.

Good? Bad?
