Lost in Time
Part XI
************************Morgan's POV*****************************************
Morgan huffed; They've been gone for a long time…I wonder if they won that battle against those zombies— He gulped, maybe Grima showed up…
Lena walked into the tent, "Hope I'm not intruding on anything."
"You're not; what's up Lena?" Morgan smiled making her feel at ease.
"Lord Marth's back and he wants to speak with you."
"Right, which tent?"
"Tactics."
"Thanks."
"You're welcome, Morgan. You'd better hurry."
"Ok! See ya later!" Morgan sprinted out, excited that Marth and the others were ok.
Lena giggled, "We need more happy-go-lucky people like him in this army!"
**************Time Skip****************
Morgan's breath caught in his throat when he saw who was sitting in the corner guarded by Kat and Kain. GRIMA?! What the heck is he doing here?! Morgan shot the white-haired man a cold glare.
"I figured as much…" Marth muttered, "Kat, you and Kain need to take this man elsewhere. Keep a very close eye on him."
"Yes sir!" Kat and Kain forced the young man up to his feet.
"Please, good sir. Have mercy on me!" he exclaimed.
"What is your name?" Morgan asked him, keeping his hood up.
"It's Robin, sir," The young man shifted in the soldiers' grip.
"Is that your true name?" Morgan inquired farther.
Robin looked up at the tactician who was standing in front of him, "Y-yes, it is…" Robin sweatdropped, "Prince Morgan of Ylisse?"
Marth tapped Gordin on the shoulder, "Am I the only one who's lost?"
Gordin shook his head, "Nope. I'm just as lost as you are, Lord Marth."
"Please, allow me to prove it to you! I promise, if I fail to prove my sincerity; me life will be forfeit."
"Wow," Kat gave him an evil smirk, "You're very desperate." Robin gulped at her statement.
Morgan glanced at Marth who nodded. He faced Robin, "Be glad I'm not your judge. Prince Marth of Aritia has agreed to give you the chance to prove the truthfulness of your words."
Robin knelt in front of Marth, "Thank you Your Highness! You won't regret giving me this chance!"
"For your sake, I pray that I won't," Marth motioned for Kat, Kain, and Gordin to escort Robin to his tent. He turned to face Morgan, "Uh…. 'Foul Lizard'?"
"Yeah. He's way worse than the Manaketes; he's even got an 'Undead Army' to boot."
"Hmmm…sorry about bringing him here then."
"Don't worry too much about it. G'night, Lord Marth."
"Alright, good night Morgan."
****************Robin's POV***********************************************
What's wrong with her?! She acts like she can't wait to run me through…Not to mention, that stupid lizard made Lucina and Morgan hate me… Robin huffed. Well, I guess that I had better start praying that I can prove myself—
***NEXT MORNING DAWN***
Robin gulped, I hope that they believe me, or I'll be dead before the moon rises!
"Alright, so how do you plan to prove your words?" Kat asked.
"What do you want to know? Just say the word and I'll do my best to prove myself."
"Ok, then," Morgan tossed him a bronze sword while he brandished his steel, "Beat me in a duel."
Robin frowned at the bronze, You have got to be freaking kidding me! This sword has three strikes left in it, max! How does he expect me to actually defeat him? Think, Robin, think! Ok, this must be a tactic battle; which means if I am to win, I've got to out-smart Morgan at every corner without wasting my only weapon. Child's Play! Can't hope to win at something this simple… What game are you playing at, Morgan? "I'm ready to start."
"Alright then!" Morgan charged forward and feinted towards Robin's left shoulder, trying to score a crippling blow to his sword arm.
Robin ducked beneath the attack at the last second and attempted to knock Morgan off balance with a shoulder to the chest.
Morgan staggered a few steps back before he could regain his balance, which gave Robin enough time to bat his sword out of his hand and catch it. It kind of looks like I've won, but it's too early to make such assumptions… Robin flexed his grip on both swords, waiting for Morgan's retaliation.
Morgan pulled out an Arcthunder tome and released a bolt of lightning at Robin, who quickly blocked it with his bronze sword.
I knew he wasn't going to stay down—man, what I wouldn't give to have a silver sword, or even a Thoron tome! Robin sidestepped another lightning bolt. Fine, I'll finish this quickly. Either way this goes, he's lost and he knows it too; one thing's for sure, he's got the same fighting spirit that his parents had: not giving up 'til there's nothing left! Robin evaded another zap from Morgan and pinned him to the ground, "I believe I've won."
"Grrrr…don't be so sure yet!" Morgan wiggled away from Robin's sword and sprung to his feet in his critical stance, "Time to even the odds!"
"Oh crud…" Robin got slammed through a couple trees. And that's with a 'C' rank magic skill? Dang, I don't wanna face him when he attains 'A' rank! Robin leaned on his steel sword as he struggled to stand back up. If I don't get past his guard, my life is good as gone… Robin sprinted toward Morgan again. Time to finish this!
********************Lucina's POV**********************************************
"Oook," Lucina poked at the Jell-O-like substance on her plate, "Is this even edible? Who made it?"
"Sully…" Virion groaned.
"Ugh…who let her near the cooking fire?" Lucina grimaced at the thing on her plate. Why did he even marry her?! She can't cook anything, it has also—wait…did that stuff just move?! Ewwww! Gross! What was I saying? Oh, right; it's been awfully quiet lately, minus annoying Plegia of course. The 'mad king' is dead now. But the new king, to put it mildly, is really unnerving.
"Something wrong, Lucina?" Danie asked, poking her daughter's shoulder.
"Huh? Oh, I'm fine Mother. Let's go shopping!" Lucina jumped up from her seat, happy to get away from the living gelatin.
"O-Ok…" Danie had an 'oh crud' expression on her face as Lucina drug her out of the camp.
***************Morgan's POV**************************************************
Gah! Morgan jumped away from Robin's swords. DANG IT! He got me, AGAIN! Morgan fired a lightning bolt at Robin, who (annoyingly enough) evaded the spell.
"Are you done trying to zap me yet?!" Robin called from the tree he'd just climbed up into.
"Not even close, pal!" Morgan scowled. Only five casts left on this tome, but I can't let him know that; c'mon Morgan! You can—no, HAVE to outsmart Grima, or you're dead!
"Your flank's exposed!" Robin hinted with a swift jab to Morgan's back.
"Shoot!" Morgan jumped at the sharp poke and switched tomes to Arcfire, "Take this!" Morgan released a fiery stream towards Robin.
"CRAP!" Robin barely blocked the flames, which melted his swords. "Seriously?"
"Yup," Morgan kept firing at Robin, who again dodged all of the casts, really frustrating Morgan. "Now, will you please SIT STILL!"
"Not a chance in Hades, kid!" Robin called playfully, "Didn't your mom teach you how to beat me? C'mon!"
"You are soo annoying!" Morgan swapped tomes again, this time to Arcwind, "Amateur!" He scored another critical hit on Robin.
"Heh! Almost blew me away!" Robin jested.
He needs to shut up and stay put! Morgan growled, "Stop running! No one likes a runner!"
"Yeah, I know, and that's why I'm doing it!"
Uh…what? That makes very little sense! Wait—'very little sense'…Robin! He's back! Yes! Morgan closed his tome; let me try one more thing.
Robin skidded to a stop in front of Morgan, "What's wrong? You not feeling well?"
"Not it," Morgan smirked at Robin, "Arcwind!"
Robin caught on just before he got blown away, "Katrina's Bolt!"
Merric huffed, "EXCALIBER!" Both combatants' spells were nullified and they were blasted through the trees again. "Um…that was getting a little um…."
"Out of control," Kat finished.
"Right, what she said. Has he proven himself?" Merric looked over at Morgan.
"Yup. He's a friend. Please let him go."
"Thanks Morgan."
"Hmph. Don't think for one second that it means you're safe."
Robin gulped, "R-right…"
A/N: next chapter will be more of a filler... but oh well, it'd be more about Robin and how he's related to Morgan and Lucina. So, even if you don't like fillers, it's crucial to the plot.
Robin: See ya next time!
Morgan: yeah! R&R and thanks for Reading!
