Chapter 9 The Shopping Center

Sebastian walked into (Y/N's) room, opening her curtains he walked toward the sleeping girl, stopping just at the foot of the bed he gazed upon her innocent features. Her luxurious (H/L) (H/C) hair sprawled out on top of the pillow, her ears twitching ever so slightly as the sun's warm rays shined on her soft skin, and her head slightly tilted her mouth a little open at one side.

He had let her sleep in later than usual since Madam Red had arrived earlier than expected, she lived for gossip and god forbid she ever found out about her nephew having a Neko for a maid there was no way she was going to keep her trap shut.

"Mistress," he called softly as he lightly shook her. "Mistress it is time for you to wake up."

After several failed attempts, (Y/N) finally woke up. Stretching her sore limbs, she began rubbing the sleep from her eyes. Letting a small yawn escape her lips she opened her eyes again to find herself face to face with Sebastian.

"Sweet mother Teresa Sebastian, ever heard of personal space!" she squeaked.

"My apologies, you were just-" a loud scream erupted from the halls interrupting the two. Scrambling out of her bed, the two rushed to the door swinging it open to see a figure zoom right past them.

"Aaaaaaahhhhhhh! Oh dear, oh dear oh dear!" the person in question yelled as they held onto the tea cart for dear life, turning yet another corner.

"I have a feeling your gonna have your hands full today so while you go and help him I'm gonna get dressed."

Opening the door to the parlor (Y/N) walked in to see Finny on the floor, with a tea stain on his shirt, next to the shattered china set, and a miserable Grell sitting on the floor with a stained tablecloth in his hand.

"Master, why did you agree to take in such a useless idiot?" Baldroy asked.

"You're one to talk, It didn't seem like such a bad idea at the time." Ciel began, "I thought Sebastian would be the only one inconvenienced. But I never expected that I would be affected by it as well."

"Karmas a bitch isn't it Ciel~" (Y/N) teased and while the servants had gotten somewhat used to (Y/N's) crude language they had not however gotten used to how she would speak to there master in such a way. But, it seemed as if some sort of unspoken bond formed between the two of them that would permit her to talk to him as if she was an equal.

"Ho ho ho." Tanaka, the houses steward, said.

"I'm so sorry for causing all this trouble," Grell said timidly as the other three servants glared at him, making him shrink under there glares "I simply don't know how I can apologize enough. Wait, that's it! The only thing I can do now is die! I shall atone with my death!" He said standing to his feet, as he pulled a sharp knife from one of his coat pockets, pointing it towards his neck.

"Whoa, calm down a second!" Baldroy yelled, distressed.

"Um, should we take the knife away?" Mey-rin asked while (Y/N) just stood in one of the corner holding her stomach as tears streamed down her face from laughing so hard.

"There is no need for that." Sebastian said putting a gloved hand on Grell's shoulder, "Just think of the horrible mess you would make; it'd take hours to clean up all of the blood."

"Thank you, Sebastian, you're so very kind…" He said with admiration in his eyes.

"That was kind?" Baldroy asked.

"Now what I'd like to know, is how you could ever think it was acceptable to serve the master such weak tea," Sebastian stated in disbelief.

"Watch me, a spoonful for each person and one more for the pot." He said, while the servants took note and Grell… well fangirled.

"Finally, add half a pint of boiling water and let it steep until dark." Handing the tea over to Ciel, Ciel nodded in approval. When he was done he set down the newspaper and handed the cup back to Sebastian.

"Master, are you ready? It is almost time." Sebastian asked, "I have the carriage waiting for you in the front drive now."

"Fine." Ciel sighed.

"As for the rest of you, I want this place absolutely spotless, understand? Grell, perhaps you should just sit there and relax so you don't cause any more trouble. Oh, and, if you do decide to seek your eternal rest, please see to it outside, would you? And try not make too big a mess."

"What generosity... What great kindness…" Grell said as Ciel left his chair.

"Oh and (Y/N), the young master and I would like you to accompany us on our little 'errand' if you will,"

"Of course!"

The moment the carriage came to a halt, (Y/N) jumped out, happy to be on solid ground once again. It wasn't that she didn't like riding in the carriage, in fact she absolutely adored it, it's just that after being stuck in a rocking carriage with little to no room to move around in for long periods of time made her quite queasy.

When Sebastian and Ciel had finally made it out of the carriage we began to make our way through the small crowds. Bits and pieces of idle gossip reached my sensitive ears (they were hidden from view by a small red bonnet with white ribbon, Sebastian had given it to me before we left the mansion) from time to time but mostly a jumble of voices.

"Get your paper here! All the latest news! Prostitutes mysteriously murdered!" I heard the papers boys voice ring loud and clear over the crowd as the three of us entered the store.

"Oh hello. Did your father send you two for something?" the store clerk asked us, assuming that Ciel and I were siblings. I laughed silently to myself as I looked over at Ciel, his expression was comical as his eye was wide while his mouth opened and closed like a fish out of water trying to form simple phrases.

"Actually, he's here on his own business. We need to pick this up." Sebastian said handing the man over the counter a small piece of paper.

"Oh, you're here for that walking stick." the man let out a small chuckle as he turned around to open the drawer containing the item in question,"I was wondering who'd have a use for one as short as this. Naturally, I didn't think a chil-" the man was taken out of his rambling as Sebastian abruptly took the walking stick out of his hand, brining it close to his face as he positioned it like a rifle to examine it, closing one eye as he did so.

"Straight as an arrow. A magnificent stick indeed, good sir." Sebastian complimented the shocked store clerk as Sebastian handed him the bag of coins, turning around to leave as he did so "Keep the change."

"Bye!" I said giggling as I turned around to watch him faint from shock.

I continued to walk behind Ciel and Sebastian paying little attention to there conversation since I already knew what they were saying.

I had eventually zoned the two out completely as I glanced into the shop's many windows, admiring their simple displays. Some showcased chocolate treats, stuffed animals, and fancy clothing such as tuxedos and dresses. But there was one display that caused me to stop and stare. On top of one of the display tables sat a small golden locket with a thin silver chain, the locket itself featured beautiful repousse details of scrolling leaves in a heart shape set with dark grey and brown rhinestones. Now I'm not normally one to gawk or fuss over jewelry, in fact, I rarely wear any because I always manage to lose them but for some strange reason I felt drawn to it.

Luckily the fire did not reach our house but there are still several people without homes at the moment so it may take a while for us to get back on our feet again. Anyways thank you again for sticking with me and have a great day! Ps Sorry For The Short Chapter!
