week two of Terra Forming Project Menagerie
Adam was sitting on a cliff looking down at the workers clearing the rubble through binoculars. He had been spying on them for the past week. That fool of a white fang leader denied him his right to be near Blake. "Soon. That fool of a hero will die."
He had planted a bomb in a lunchbox that looked like Jaune's which he stole. He watched as the they sat done for lunch. "Almost there. Open it and die!" He whispers loudly. Then yells in anger when a raven knocks it from Jaune's lap. It tumbled down the cliff and hit the lake with a splash.
As he raged at that the 'blasted birdbrain' the bomb was set off making it rain fish. Adam was hit by a giant catfish(About the size of a large dog) who slapped him angrily and 'walked' it's way back to water.
With Blake
* Que Singing in the rain *
Blake was singing as she danced about catching sky fish. It was a dream come true! Nora was racing against Ruby to see who could catch more fish before they hit the ground. Jaune was holding his shield up as fish bounced off of it. "what is with the the sky fish?" He asked to himself out loud.
Fi appeared and said "Master Jaune, there is a 34.21% that someone tried to assassinate you." Pyrrha hugged Jaune and said "They failed big time."
Yang was laughing at Blake but the catfish that slapped Adam slapped her too. Yang ran after the 'walking' fish yelling "Get back here dinner!" The catfish was quite fast.
* End singing in the rain *
Later that day
One of the locals laughed as Yang described the catfish that somehow escaped her after shooting water at her. "You met the untouchable Lady of the Lake. She has been in that lake since before anyone settled on the land."
Weiss cocked an eyebrow "If I didn't see it. I wouldn't believe it." Yang grumbled as she rung out her clothes. "I'll catch that fish for sure!" the local just laughed and said "Many have tried and all have failed." He pauses and says "There was one man who came the closest." He scratched his chin and remembered "He came here two years ago on a dingy with only a large pack and the clothes on his back. He looked like he fought a twister and almost lost. His boat fell apart soon after we got him on land"
He had their complete attention. "What happened next?" Ruby asked in between bites of fish. "We nursed him back to health and he stayed for six months. He was an interesting human." Yang looked impatient "how close did he get to catching that blasted fish!"
"calm down. I'm getting to it" He said "He met the Lady on one of his walks. She shot water at him and taunted him." He laughed remembering his face "He spent four mouths trying to catch the Lady." He looked puzzled and continued. "The last day he was here he was smiling. I asked if he caught her but he said that he was close but failed."
Nora looked confused "Why was he smiling?" the local just shrugged "No idea. Oh I never told you my name. I'm Ol' Jim. I keep track of all the people who try to catch the Lady. My family has been doing it since the Great War."
They were shocked. Nora being Nora asked bluntly "How old are you?" Ol' Jim grinned revealing that he had only a few tiger fangs in his mouth. "This old tiger might be over 70 but I'm still kicking." Ren sighed and asked "What was his name?"
Ol' Jim takes out a worn book and leafs to the right page. "It was Sage." This sparked a conversion among the group. "What was Sage doing here? I understand giving Qrow the book but why did he stay to catch a fish?" Weiss says. Blake just shrugged "Maybe pride?"
Ren gave an answers they agreed on "What ever the case, He has been visiting places for one reason or another. What we do know is that at the earliest he was here three years ago. We will have to be on the look out for more sightings."
