Chapter 11

Clarke sighed looking down at the hatch, it vibrated with how hard Bellamy was hitting it.

"BACK AWAY AND I'LL OPEN UP!" Clarke yelled, and the knocking stopped.

"When I get through the hatch, I want you to seal it back up." Clarke instructed Finn. "Don't open it until I come get you, no matter what you hear."

Finn nodded stepping forwards quickly pulling Clarke into a hug and then dropping his arms and stepped back alarmed. "Sorry."

Clarke nodded "Look I know it wasn't you doing those things, but to me it was. I'm trying to move past it, but it's going to take time." Clarke opened the hatch quickly climbing down, waiting until Finn closed and locked the hatch before setting both feet on the floor.

"Did he hurt you." Bellamy asked, his eyes traveling over Clarke looking for injury. "I'm gonna kill him."

Bellamy moved around Clarke climbing up the ladder but the hatch wouldn't budge.

"Bellamy, Bellamy!" Clarke yelled getting his attention. " He's not going to come down, not until you promise you won't harm him."

"Clarke don't be blinded, he's gotten inside your head." Miller said.

"I promised you that next time I saw him would be the last." Bellamy glared jumping off the ladder, landing face to face with Clarke.

"Yea well you also promised me you wouldn't go out hunting him like some wild animal!"

"Hey! Don't yell at my brother. He's just trying to protect you from the guy that left bruises all over your body."

"Octavia!" Bellamy silenced her, this was between him and Clarke "I never promised that, you said what you wanted me to do and what would be best for the camp, and I disagreed."

"And you didn't think that was worth a second conversation?"

Bellamy stepped forwards, his chest just an inch from Clarke's, this rapid breaths making their chests make contact.

"Like you giving yourself up to the grounders in a couple days, there wasn't even a discussion on that. Besides once you're gone do you really think any of them are going to protect Finn?"

"We already talked about this, if I don't go I am dead anyways. Along with our people! I'm tired of having this same argument over and over again Bellamy!"

"We wouldn't be having it if you weren't allowing yourself to be taken from me!" Bellamy's jaw tightened, he tried to hold back the sobs in his throat.

That stopped Clarke the look on his face and the way his eyes looked wide and wild like a child's, Clarke took his hand lacing it with her own.

"We'll be back, don't do anything until then." Clarke instructed, turning around and leading Bellamy from the drop ship.

They were silent as they walked through the dim lit camp and into Bellamy's tent. Clarke turned to face Bellamy then, and he looked down at her allowing Clarke to push his shoulders until he was sitting on his make shift bed, with her standing in front of him.

Clarke knew she'd been different since her first run in with Finn and even before that things were different, he'd become weak by trying to act strong and hiding things form the people she cared about. Sure her and Bellamy went through a break up fight, if you will, but Clarke's not stupid. They could never really be over, the way she felt for him and she knew he felt for her.

"We need to have a serious talk, just you and me. No storming out, no more lies and secrets, just a good old fashion, conversation."

Bellamy cleared his throat "And what exactly do you want to talk about Princess?"

Clarke sighed looking down at him, Bellamy's hair was especially curly from the summer heat, his skin had gotten a shade darker as well, his chocolate brown eyes stared up into hers, waiting.

"I know my secrets are what caused all these problems in the first place, I killed Nate's sister by the river I made friends with him later and ending getting him killed. I didn't come to you right away about Finn and I let him abuse me because I was still in a bad place after the whole Nate thing. I guess I felt like I deserved it."

"Clarke-"

"Just let me finish." Clarke smiled softly letting Bellamy know she was ok "And now Finn's back and seems to be himself, besides the foggy memories. And I'm trying to act like it's ok and save his guilt but when I look at him, I feel like I'm going to puke. And now a grounder village is coming after me and I either give up my life alone or refuse and have everyone come down with me."

Bellamy reached his hands out for Clarke getting her to take a seat beside him.

"Look, I know I haven't made this easy, You came to me and I ended up calling you a whore. I didn't exactly make it easy for you to tell me things."

"Yea I was hurt by what you said, but even still I know you were just saying it because you were hurt. Because you thought I had cheated on you with your best friend. Being honest... because you freaked out so bad about something that didn't even happen, I was afraid. I didn't want you to think that I wanted Finn too-"

Bellamy shook his head, curls bouncing "I don't think that, and for the record I don't think you're a whole. I was out of line saying what I did to you that day."

Clarke smiled showing Bellamy that she accepted "Finn's not the person who hurt me anymore Bellamy, I know he isn't."

"Clarke you can't be sure of that." He didn't like where this was going.

"I know, but I am. And I'm willing to take that rise for myself. Please, no one in camp knows except for our friends, he could meld back into the camp and have a life. If you accept him."

Bellamy huffed, his hand ran over Clarke's face his thumb pulling down softly releasing her lip from her teeth.

"He hurt you.." Clarke held her breath "If he steps out of line once.."

Clarke nodded in understanding "Then you have my permission to kick his ass."

Bellamy let out a low chuckle, leaning forwards capturing Clarke's lips in his. She gave in letting herself enjoy the moment before pulling back. They still had one more thing to talk about, Clarke guessed it wasn't going to be as easily rectified.

"We still have one more thing to talk about." Clarke's forehead rested on Bellamy's.

He closed his eyes not wanting to even think about how many unknown days he had left with her.

"We need to talk about this." Clarke's voice was sympathetic with understanding, she knew it hurt Bellamy. It hurt her to think that in how ever many days she'd be taken from him and her friends.

"You've already decided Clarke, what more is there to say." Bellamy moved back so he was sitting with some distance between them.

"So much Bellamy. You understand why I'm doing this. I know you do and if it were you in my place, you'd be doing the same."

"But it's not me."

Clarke got to her feet holding Bellamy's shoulders she sat on his lap, a leg on each side of his body. His hands came up to steady her also, resting at her hips.

"We've gone through so much, losing Charlotte, Atom, Wells and Murphy, your sister disappearing, Finn. You and I are strong, we've been able to get through everything so far. Who's to say that we both can't survive this."

"They are coming to take you to god knows where, most likely to kill you. I'm going to be left her wondering what happened to you."

"Me leaving is going to happen, we can't stop it without spilling more blood. When the time comes and the rider shows up, I'm going to need you to let me go. And you'll have to trust that I can survive and find my way back to you."

"Clarke..." her name was a whisper on Bellamy's lips, as tears welled up in his eyes.

Clarke kissed him them, her hands going to his hair while his moved up her sides and back, pulling her closer.

"They're waiting for us." Clarke said all too soon.

"Once we're done dealing with Finn, I want you right back here."

"Deal."

So Finn is staying and is better now... Clarke's leaving and Bellamy will have to govern the 100 on his own.. Thoughts? review
