Kemyx's POV- Day 49

Finally, Xenysis's and my fire lessons are complete, and to top it off, everyone who went to Castle Oblivion is coming back! I was so excited that I accidentally ran into Xenysis on the way to the grey area.

Xenysis, irritated: "Oof. Hey, watch it!"

I was utterly astounded. This is the first time that Xenysis had acted so rash towards anyone, as far as I know. When I turned to face him, however, there was something wrong with his eyes. Instead of their usual forest-green, his eyes were a golden-hazel. His hair had darkened considerably, and spiked up slightly. Before he got the chance to say anything else, I ran the rest of the way to the grey area.

When I reached the grey area, I accidentally bumped into a fellow organization member. I looked up, and noticed that it was Xirksis. She smiled reassuringly, and opened a dark corridor. Xirksis motioned for me to follow, and we made our way into the corridor.

Xirksis: "Just so you know, this is a 'defeat the heartless' mission. The location is Montressor Spaceport."

Kemyx, interested: "Spaceport?"

Xirksis, grinning: "Yep!"

We reach the end of the corridor, and we exit in the middle of an empty street of a city with a familiar-looking world in orbit with it. 'Why is that world so familiar? I've never seen it in my life.' Before I got too entranced by the orbiting planet, however, I noticed that we were surrounded by heartless. A combination of neo-shadows, invisibles, and air pirates by the look of it.

Xirksis unsheathes her rose blade, and I summon Nuria. I spin my scythe like a top, and a fire tornado is brought out. I jumped in, and used Nuria to slice and dice any heartless that got in. Meanwhile, Xirksis switched her rose blade into whip mode, and used it to catch some of the high-flying air pirates. She swung her whip, and they were flung in my direction just as the tornado dissipates. I flip the blade of my scythe upwards, and slashed the air pirates in half.

As soon as the heartless were defeated, more appeared. They included angel stars, battleships, gargoyles, and air soldiers. As soon as they appeared, these heartless were smart: they went higher up. I shot fire from the bottom of my feet, and I quickly rose to their level. Next, I landed on a battleship, and disabled it's weapons. However, the battleship bucked me off, and I almost fell.

Almost.

I opened my eyes, and I found myself in a gust of air, following the movements of my arms. With this newly-discovered ability, I resummoned Nuria and made a swipe with it. A gust blew the heartless into each other, and I activated my jet fire again. I blazed toward them, and in one swipe, the heartless disintegrated. I almost cried out in victory as a bony claw narrowly missed me!

When I turned, I saw what can only be described as a phantom. It's left hand had it's bony clutches on Xirksis, and an orb spun inside it with a red glow shining from it. In anger, I shot a giant fireball at the orb, and the phantom seemed damaged from it. The orb also changed color to a neon-yellow. I lightning-bent at the orb, and the phantom dodged. However, I took personal control of the lightning, and directed it toward the phantom. The shock went through the heartless, and the orb changed to a white color just as Xirksis came to.

She acted just as quickly as myself. We drew our weapons, and hit the orb at the same time. The orb shattered, and the phantom turned to dust just as I caught Xirksis. I set her on the ground, then used Nuria's special ability to capture all the released hearts.

Xirksis's POV- Altar of Naught

Kemyx had exited the corridor temporarily to send the hearts straight into kingdom hearts. Then she entered again, and we made our way to the grey room again. When we exited, Kemyx stopped me.

Kemyx, questioningly: "Xirksis?"

Xirksis: "What is it?"

Kemyx: "Have you noticed anything strange about Xenysis lately?"

Xirksis: "Kemyx, I've only been here two days. What are you talking about?"

Kemyx: "Well, just today he was acting quite rudely."

Xirksis: "Really?! That doesn't sound like Xenysis."

Kemyx: "Exactly! Not only that, but he also has hazel eyes all of a sudden, and his hair has darkened considerably."

Xirksis: "I. ...I honestly have never heard of that before."

We were both silent for a moment. Then I remembered: Kemyx had used the air around her in order to defeat those heartless.

Xirksis: "Hey, Kemyx?"

Kemyx: "Yeah?"

Xirksis: "How did you used the air to defeat some of those heartless back there?"

Kemyx, hesitantly: "...I honestly don't know. I'll have to ask Iroh about this later."

Xirksis: "Iroh?"

Kemyx: "Yeah. He's the one that taught Xenysis and I how to firebend."

At that, Kemyx reentered the corridor.

Kemyx's POV- Day 50

I exited the dark corridor,and entered Iroh's Tea shop. Iroh noticed me almost immediately. Iroh smiled until he noticed my expression. He walked toward me.

Iroh: "Kemyx? What's wrong?"

Kemyx: "Oh, nothing's really wrong. It's just that I've done something weird yesterday."

Iroh: "What do you mean by weird?"

Kemyx: "Well, yesterday the wind seemed to push me upwards. And I wasn't near any airbenders. In fact, the wind didn't keep me from falling until my arms began spinning."

Iroh, to himself: "This explains so much."

Kemyx: "What?"

Iroh: "There is this being known as an Avatar. This being has the ability to bend all four elements."

Kemyx: "What does this have to do with me?"

Iroh: "Ever since the Earthbending avatar died, we have yet to find another Avatar."

Kemyx: "I still don't understand."

Iroh: "What I'm saying is that you just might be the new Avatar."

I couldn't believe my ears. Me? The new Avatar? That means that I have more potential than I thought.

Kemyx, enthusiastically: "Where do I learn airbending!?"

Iroh, smiling: "At airbender island, off the coast of republic city."

Smiling, I nod, and head out on foot toward the city. I wonder what adventures await me on this world.

Kemyx, to herself: "Man, I sure hope the boss doesn't have anything planned for me in awhile."
