Serene's POV
I stood in my room while my stylist worked on me, they said that they were going to make me fire again, I didn't really know what that meant but I knew that it would be good. Since the hair dye had washed out after I took a shower they reapplied it but this time they made it look like actual fire. They braided it and wrapped it up into a bun, after they finished my hair they went on to my make up, they made my eye shadow a fiery color and my lips were red. They were soon ushered away by Cinna who pulled out a beautiful red dress, at the top it was red and as you went down it went from red to orange to yellow and then just dropped to black, it went all the way down to my feet and the fabric felt amazing. When I asked Cinna why the bottom was black he said that it represented the coals, I nodded and he told me to spin around. I spun around and looked in the mirror, my dress didn't look like the one Katniss wore to her interview when she spun around my made it look like I was the fire. He sat me down and put on a nice pair of black heels to match the bottom of my dress and then we were headed out to the waiting area.
Lucy's POV
When I got into the waiting room with all of the other tributes I saw everyones outfit, they all looked good. Marcie's outfit made her look like she was a rainbow fish, and the district 1 female tributes were wearing dresses that sparkled like diamonds. I joined Marcie and the other careers when I saw Serene come in, she looked stunning. Every step she took made her look like she was fire, and everyone awed when they saw her. She joined Daniel and Jamey who were wearing simple black suits. I scowled as everyone in my group started to talk about how good she looked, we were eventually all forced to line up, I stood next to Jamey and Daniel stood next to Serene and in front of Jamey. The interviews were going to take 4 hours since they were interviewing us and then they would interview all of the mentors. I watched the interviews on the televison that we use to watch the interviews, all of the careers and high districts did quite well in their interviews. As they went on I grew tired, I watched as Serene was told that she was going next and she walked onto stage, every step she took she looked like she was fire herself, I was more jealous than ever.
Serene's POV
I walked onto stage and as I moved to my seat everyone began clapping their hands and cheered, I smiled and sat down. Caesar smiled and said
"Hello Miss Serene, you look stunning if I do say so myself. May I ask who made it?"
I kept smiling and glanced at Cinna, he smiled and I said
"The wonderful designer of this outfit was the forever wonderful Cinna."
He looked at the audience and said
"Well that is Cinna for you, creating wonderful costumes for his tributes!"
Everyone cheered and he went on to his next question.
"Do you Serene think that you could win this?"
I thought for a couple of seconds before I nodded
"Yeah, I think I have as much as a chance as everyone else does."
He looked at the game makers who were hidden behind one way mirrors, all I could see was myself and I looked amazing but Caesar saw something else and nodded. He looked back at me and said
"Do you have anyone special at home waiting for you?"'
I swallowed and could feel myself blush a little.
"No, not at home."
He looked at the audience again and then back at me
"Did he come here with you?"
An alarm went off in my head and it was saying 'Say no! Say no! Don't turn into katniss and peeta!' I was going to say no but something caused my answer to change and I said
"Yeah."
I could feel myself blushing alot right now and Caesar smiled and said
"Well is it Daniel?"
I tried to get myself to not blush anymore than I already had.
"Yeah." I said softly.
Caesar stood up and said
"Well lets bring him out here!"
Everyone started to cheer and I saw Daniel start coming out, I stood up and a little smile appeared on my face: as he came into the light I could see that he had a smile too and he was also blushing. Just before he got to me I saw another figure appear behind him and the next I saw was the figure start running towards me and I saw it was Lucy. She looked really angry, I stepped back a tad scared and she tackled me to the ground. She started to punch me and I rolled her over so that I was on top and I punched her back. She flipped me over and continued to hit me, the audience was standing on their feet and was shouting, Caesar was looking at president snow wondering what to do and then Lucy was pulled off of me by some peacekeepers. Daniel helped me up and he stood in front of me as Lucy was held back by the peacekeepers.
"Whats your problem Lucy!"
I said to her, she scowled and tried to get free.
"Your my problem! The both of you are! I am going to kill you both myself."
The peacekeepers dragged her away and Caesar told Daniel and I to sit down, I sat down and Daniel sat down next to me, Caesar started to ask questions. I had zoned out until Caesar asked
"Do you like her too?"
I looked at Daniel and I saw that he started to blush and said
"Yeah, I do. I have liked her since I first saw her when she came to district 12."
They started to talk some more and then before I knew it the buzzer went off and we were released. We went back to where all the tributes were and watched as Jamey went on to be interviewed. After Jamey got done we headed to meet all of the mentors and game makers, Lucy was under room arrest until tomorrow. We walked into the room and everyone flew over to us and we began to meet the mentors.
Marcie's POV
I was talking with some of the lower game makers when I saw Daniel and Serene walked in with another tribute from their district, I believe his name was Jamey. I watched as my mother and father went over to meet them. My father was Finnick Odair and my mother was Annie Odair, I had an older brother who was a designer for tributes for our district. I felt someone tap my shoulder and I turned around to see the head game maker, he was quite young to be a game maker actually. He asked if he could speak to me and I said sure and followed him into a room. When we got there he shut the door and said I could sit if I wanted, I decided it was better to sit than stand so I sat down on the couch, he joined me a minute after words and said
"My name Marko."
"My name is Marcie."
He smiled and said
"Yes I know."
I smiled a little back and then the next thing I knew was he kissed me, I pulled away and stood up.
"What are you doing!"
I shouted at him. He got up and said
"Oh come on, you know that I could get you out of the games, and you are quite attractive too."
I walked towards the door and was going to open it when he put his hand on the door and kissed my cheek. I tried to pull away from him and he said
"You can't run forever."
I rolled my eyes and tried to get the door open, he kissed me again and I managed to get out the door and ran into the crowd, I had to lose him and hopefully I would. I quickly joined my father's side, he was talking to Daniel. I noticed Serene was not near him at all. Maybe I could use him to get rid of Marko. I smiled to myself, yes that would be the plan.
