Scar woke up from his sleeping mate and two months old son and left for the outside of pride rock. He smiled at the kingdom and see the sun will be rising soon. Walking inside, he nudge Kovu with his nose. "Kovu! Kovu!" Scar spoke loud enough for where his son can hear him, but not to wake up the whole pride. "Kovu! It's time!"
"Dad." Kovu groaned. Like his mother he wasn't an morning person. "I'm trying to sleep."
"I'm going to show you the whole kingdom as King." Scar smiled.
"Really?!" Kovu jumped up, wiping away the sleepiness from his green eyes. "Why didn't you say so?! Let's go!"
Scar chuckle and then he followed his son outside of pride rock after giving Sarafina an nuzzle. Of course she didn't move, she wasn't an morning person. Walking out of pride rock, he saw his son sitting down on at the edge of it, and he join him. "Look Kovu. Everything the light touches is our kingdom." Scar mentored.
"Wow." he whisper in satisfaction.
"An king time as ruler rises and falls like the sun, one day Kovu, the sun would set on my time here and will rise with you as the new king." Scar said wisely.
"And this will all be mine?" Kovu asked.
"Everything the light touches."
"Oh." Kovu walk to the edge and then look at the darkness off in the distance. "What about that shadowy place?"
"That beyond our borders." Scar walk to the edge and glare at the place he lost his father in. "You must never got there Kovu."
"But I thought an king can do whatever he wants." Kovu said confused.
Scar stare at his son with an smile. "There's more then being king then getting your way all the time."
"There's more?" Kovu seem interested.
"Hahahaha." Scar chuckled. "Kovu." They were in the Savannah now, walking through the pride lands. Scar stare out at the Savannah where there was animals doing random things. "Everything you see exist together in an delicate balance. As King you must respect and understand that balance from the crawling ants to the leapy antelope."
"But dad, do we eat the antelope?" Kovu asked.
"Yes Kovu but let me explain." Scar turned to his son. "When we he die our bodies become the grass and the antelope eat the grass so we're all connected to the great circle of life."
"Goodmorning sire, Prince Kovu." Zazu perched on the tree.
"Goodmorning Zazu." Scar and Kovu greeted, like his father, Kovu respects Zazu.
"Checking in for the morning report." Zazu informed them.
"Go ahead." Scar allowed. Instantly Zazu started telling the morning report and Scar was listening to it all with Kovu waiting patiently. "Kovu. I want you to lay close to the ground."
"What?" Kovu asked, confuse why his father wanted him to do this.
"It's an pouncing lesson for you so when you be King, you can pounce all of those targets." Scar chuckled low.
"Oh ok." Kovu nodded.
"Stay low to the ground." Scar whispered to him.
Zazu notice something's amiss and stop saying the morning report and decided to ask the two royals. "What going on?"
"Pouncing lesson." Scar informed him.
"Oh very good pouncing." Zazu smiled and was about to continue the morning report then he realized. "Pouncing?!" He flew up, losing feathers. "Oh no pouncing! Sire you can't be serious!" Scar motion for him to turn back around with his paw. His smile never leaving his face. "This is so humiliating." Zazu turned around.
"Try not to make an sound." Scar coaches in an deep whisper.
"What are you telling him Scar?" Zazu asked as he turn around fully again, but notice that the father-and-son trio was gone. "Scar? Kovu?"
An brown bundle of fur then jump on Zazu and made him hit the ground, much to Scar's amusement. "That's very good." Scar said between laughs.
"Zazu?!" An gopher appeared.
"Yes?!" He ask in confusion.
"Sir news from the underground." The gopher bow by his hand on his head.
"Now let me teach you..." Scar was about to teach Kovu more of something.
However before he can, Zazu cut him off. "Sire! Hyenas in the pride lands!"
"Zazu! Take Kovu home!"
Kovu nodded in understanding and decided to go along with it, beside getting teach as King was starting to get borning and hyenas in the pride lands can cause major problems. "Just think." Zazu says from above him. "One day you will be king and you will have to chase those stupid poachers from dawn and to dust."
"Yeah." Kovu said with an smile. "Maybe if my father doesn't end them today."
Zazu chuckled, it was clear that the young prince had his father sense of humor.
TLKTLKTLK
In an small cave, two lions stand. One full-grown golden lion and an golden cub. "But dad, I don't understand. Why do you want me to lure Kovu to the elephant graveyard?"
"Because Simba, he took away your birthright." The grown lion place an soft paw on him. "You were meant to be king. And yet, he took away that from you."
"What?!" Simba asked. "I was meant to be king?!"
"Yes my boy." Mufasa smiled at him. "The hyenas will help you to reclaim your birthright that you deserve rightfully yours."
"Yes, I do it!" Simba said angrily. "I should be king! My birthright was stolen by my own cousin!"
"With Scar and Kovu outta of the way, I will be king but in an couple years later, you will be king." Mufasa explained.
"I may feel bad for hurting Kovu but he had no right taking away my throne." Simba says with an little bit sadness. "But we should have the throne. Also father, I don't want my friends to die. I understand about Kovu but without my friends, I would have no one to play with.
"Yes my boy, I promise, your friends won't be harmed. All you got to do is lure your cousin and friends to the elephant graveyard. And the hyenas will do the rest." Mufasa says as he scrape the ground with his sharp claws.
A/N Uh oh, more trouble and drama. But there got to be in every story right? I founded time and I did another chapter on the same day as I posted the last one.
