A/N: alright, so I'm sure this is the part most people were excited for and I'm happy to say 'here it is'! It's a short chapter, but I think it's better off short and soon you'll find out why. Enjoy!

Disclaimer: I do not own the original plot of any of the Jurassic Park; that belongs to the amazing Stephen King. I do, however, own Rachel and some plot changes due to her existence in this story.

"Dr. Grant, is he with you?" One of the pilots asked as we made our way towards the helicopter. His question sparked my curiosity and I ran as best as I could in hopes that my assumption was correct. Sure enough, when I stepped into the helicopter, I turned to see Dr. Grant kneeling beside a crippled Billy.

"Billy!" I shouted and limped to the stretcher he was occupying.

"Ray." His voice was hoarse and he was broken, but I could tell how happy he was to know that I was alive.

"I thought you had died," I choked out as tears spilled over from my eyes.

"Nothing could permanently separate me from you, Ray."**

"Ma'am, I'm going to need you to have seat," one of the pilots interrupted, but I ignored him and looked down at Billy as tears continued to fall down my face.

"I love you, Billy. If this island brought us together and couldn't tear us apart, nothing will." I smiled at the broken man before me and kissed his lips gently as to not hurt him.

"I love you too, Rachel," Billy said back once I broke the kiss.

"Please, ma'am, I need you to have a seat so we can lift off."

I looked at Billy once more and he nodded at me before I stood up and limped over to the last open seat by Dr. Grant and my family.

~!~

"Rachel, how are you feeling?" Dr. Grant greeted me as I hopped out of my hospital room on crutches.

"I'm fine, considering. How's Billy?" I asked him, trying not to sound too worried.

He gave a light chuckle and led me down the hall to Billy's room. "He's fine. Nothing major. He's been asking about you this whole time so the nurses agreed to let you see him."

"How generous," I said sarcastically, almost smiling at the fact that life could finally return to normal – or as normal as possible, anyway. We got to room 324 and I stood in front of the closed door, scared to go inside. After a few moments, I let out a shaky breath and went in.

Billy was asleep on the lone bed in the too large, too white hospital room. Different tones of beeping was the only source of noise aside from my hopping. I got to the side of the bed and sat in the empty chair, staring at the sleeping Billy. Tears spilled over from my eyes at the sight of him. 'I almost lost him,' I thought to myself.

"Ray?" Billy mumbled and I hurriedly wiped the tears from my face. "Why are you crying?"

"I'm just happy you survived," I told him and grabbed his hand. "How are you feeling?"

"I'm fine. Are you okay? How's your ankle?" Billy was almost freaking out and I let out a small laugh at his panic.

"Billy, calm down. You need to rest."

"I do love you, Rachel," he told me as he sat up.

"I love you too. Should you be sitting up? Don't you need to lie down and rest?"

A smile spread across his face and he grabbed a small box from the side table. "I got Alan to get this for me. I hope it fits."

I stared at the small square box in his hand in astonishment. 'It can't be, can it? Are we ready? Am I ready?' The questions raced through my head and I looked back at Billy. "Billy, I…" I hesitated. I wasn't sure what exactly I was wanting to say.

"I know it may seem soon, but I've never felt like this before. Besides, we can wait as long as you want. I just want you to know that I'm sure about this. I'm sure about you." He opened the box and revealed that my assumption was correct. He was proposing and I got choked up all over again. Rather than risking the chance of crying again, I nodded my head at his unspoken question.

A/N: So, that was kind of a corny chapter, but I kind of wanted it to be that way. It was kind of just a filler chapter for what I want the next chapter to be so yes, it was short like I said it would be (I may rewrite this chapter later on because I don't know if I'm actually satisfied with it). Also, I apologize for the cliffhanger, but hey it happens and keeps things interesting. Anyway, forewarning, I don't plan on starting the next chapter for about two weeks. Finals need my attention. So please review. It helps motivate me.

JJ-Jefferu: ** that was entirely too corny… but I liked it. If you want a conclusion or more you guys better give her some lovin' she might start working on it after finals if you do!
