Mindless chapter 11
Your alarm clock shattered you from a dreamless sleep. You groaned as you rolled over and repeatedly hit the alarm until it finally fell to the floor and was silenced.
You didn't want to get up. You were still sore from yesterday's training. And the day before that's training. And the day before that. And the day before that.
Clint worked you hard on improving your muscle tone and strength. Both your body's and your mental abilities were worked to their breaking point. This fact was proven so many times that Bruce answered the question of how you know your mental abilities were stained. Everyday after strength training, your nose would be bleeding. This was because Clint would make you lift weights using telekinesis. It's a lot more painful than it sounds.
Natasha would work with you on cardio and agility and flexibility. The cardio was pretty easy. The flexibility not so much. You were never a flexible person, so every new stretch would feel like your muscles were tearing apart.
Everything seemed to get easier every day. Your nose would bleed less after strength. You could bend farther than the day before. They seemed to be
one step ahead of you. When you had a good day, the next would be even worse.
You got up and put on a loose (color) t-shirt and some (color) shorts. You laced up your tennis and raced down the hall as you put your hair up.
When you got to the gym, you started your stretches. On your last stretch, Clint and Natasha entered the gym. You stood up as they walked over to you.
"I'm ready. So what're we starting with today?" You asked.
"We're going to actually going to something different." Clint stated. There was another emotion too, but you couldn't put your finger on it.
Natasha interrupted your thoughts by shoving something into your arms. You looked down and saw a black jumpsuit similar to the one Natasha was wearing, with black boots to match.
"Put this on." She said, promptly shoving you into the girl's locker room and shutting the door.
You were confused, but you changed anyway. When you stepped out, every man looking in your general direction went wide eyed. You were positively stunning. Though you weren't super skinny, you were skinny enough that it accentuated your body nicely. You were feeling sort of self conscious.
Clint must've sensed this, because he turned around and yelled, "Everyone go back to work! Don't make me call Fury."
With that everyone turned around and went back to their business. "Thanks." You said quietly.
"No problem." With that said he suddenly grabbed your wrist and flipped you over.
You cried out as you hit the mat. A painful jolt went up your back. You barely dodged his next strike. You rolled quickly out of the way. You knew what that look was. It was of sheer amusement. Like the feeling before you prank someone.
You got into a standing position. Clint ran at you. You crouched and ran to the side. He hit nothing but air. He seemed surprised, so you took the opportunity to attack. You quickly crouched and swiped his feet out from under him. He toppled over, but gained his balance and was back on his feet.
He ran at you, tackling you to the ground. Clint was about to pin you, but in the split second before he could you did something. You pushed with all of your mental strength and he flew off of you and into the nearby wall. Though the wall was padded, he hit it with a loud thud.
"Yes!" You celebrated. But it was short lived.
You heard something in the back of your mind. 'Quick. Before she sees-' It was cut off, but it was Natasha. You knew that for sure. Then you sensed that something was coming from behind you. You quickly ducked and rolled out of the way. You heard a crash, a thud, and two people groaning.
You stood up and saw Natasha on top of Clint. They both turned to look at you bewildered. Nobody had ever done that well in their first surprise attack.
"How did you do that?" Clint asked amazed.
"How'd I do what?" You asked, somewhat confused.
"How'd you avoid Natasha?"
"I heard her." You said slowly. Still trying to comprehend the events that just transpired.
"Heard me?" Natasha asked incredulously.
"Yeah," You said, "Didn't you talk?"
"No." Natasha stated.
'This is ridiculous. She probably just got lucky.' You heard Clint voice.
"No, Clint, I did not just get lucky." You said a little bit defensively.
He stared at you wide eyed. "How did you hear me?"
"You spoke didn't you?"
"No," He shook his head, "I thought that."
Then the pieces of the puzzle clicked into place. "This is great," You muttered angrily, "Just what I need right now!"
"What?" Clint asked.
"I'm a freaking telepath now too."
You saw the dawning of understanding on their faces. They realized it made sense.
Your powers just took an interesting turn. And you weren't sure how to react.
