Chapter 11.

..

.

By the time Santana got home it was late. Well it wasn't too late but since she married Quinn she made it a habit to come before dinner. But after the glass she broke in her hand she needed to go to the ER to get her hand fixed so after that she needed to catch up on work.

When she arrived home she was surprised to find Quinn in the living room. She was watching TV, Santana didn't see Logan anywhere so she assumed he was in his room asleep.

"Hey love," Santana made herself present.

Quinn turned her head around and immediately smiled when she saw Santana.

"Hey I was waiting up for you," Quinn said as she stood up from where she sat and made her way towards Santana.

"It was a long day," Santana said.

Quinn frowned when she saw Santana's hand, "What happened to your hand?"

Santana shook her hand and pursed her lips, "Picked up broken glass...but don't worry I got it check out. I'll be okay."

"I'm glad," Quinn said as she wrapped her arms around Santana's neck.

"Where's Logan? Asleep already?" Santana asked, even though she was fully aware of where he was.

"Sound asleep," Quinn said, "Are you sure you're okay?"

"Mhm," Santana hummed, "What did you do today?"

Quinn swallowed as soon as she heard this question.

"Nothing," Quinn's voice cracked, "Nothing much."

Nothing much, yeah right.

..

..

Quinn clutched onto her purse as pushed her sunglasses closer to her face. She knew this was wrong but she knew her heart told her she needed this.

As she made to the restaurant she quickly spotted Biff in the back corner. She made her way towards the room until she reached him. Buff wasted no time, as soon as he spotted her he got up and wrapped his arms around her.

"I'm so happy you're here," Biff smiled and gave Quinn a kiss.

Quinn however quickly pulled back, "Don't do that!"

"Why not?" Biff frowned.

"Biff I'm a married woman," Quinn glared.

"You're married to someone you don't love!" Biff said.

"But I still have to respect her," Quinn explained.

Biff let out a defeated sigh, "Please take a seat."

Quinn let out a frustrated sigh but took a seat and so did Biff.

"So," Quinn began, "How are you?"

Biff took a deep breath, "Better now that you're here."

And with that he took her hands in his own.

"You know the company is struggling a little bit right now but it won't be long until we get back on our feet," Biff said confidently, "We found this new company and they are willing to invest so much in us. It kind of surprised me you know, after the meeting I had with Santana today I was pretty sure we're going to get a hard hit but they still seem interested."

"That's good news," Quinn nodded, "You said you saw Santana today?"

"Oh, yeah. It was mostly about business," He said.

"Mostly?" Quinn raised an eyebrow.

"Obviously you were brought up...She doesn't want to do any business with the company because she knows you're in love with me," Biff explained.

Quinn took a deep breath, "Biff...why did you want to see me here?"

"I've missed you."

Quinn didn't know what to say, maybe it was a mistake coming here after all.

"I'm with Santana now," Quinn said.

Biff laughed slightly, "But you're not in love with her."

Quinn swallowed, "I don't know if I am."

"What? What do you mean!?"

"I just... I don't know what I feel," Quinn said.

"You mean you actually feel something for her!?" Biff frowned.

"Honesty...I think I do," Quinn said.

This was the first time she ever said this out loud and she had to admit it felt good to say it.

"Well what about me?" Biff asked, "Do you not feel something for me anymore?"

"Biff… of course I feel something for you…But I feel something for her too."

"Not even four months ago you were head over heels in love with me. What changed?" Biff asked, he was clearly hurt.

"I…"

"Quinn you've know Santana for maybe at most four months. How could you even feel something for her?" Biff asked.

"She's just been so good to me—"

"That's not love, that's gratitude." Biff groaned, "And you shouldn't even be thankful really because she asked, no she demanded that you marry her in exchange to help your father. She took your life away from you! She took you away from me."

Quinn frowned but said nothing.

"How could you feel something for her after all she did to you?"

..

.

"Nothing huh," Santana raised an eyebrow.

Quinn just nodded.

Santana leaned in and gave Quinn a soft kiss, "Will you have Dinner with me next week? Just you and me okay? I'll have Carole watch Logan. It's the only time I will have time off to treat you to fancy dinner date."

Quinn smiled, "I would love to,"

"Then it's settled."

"Sounds perfect," Quinn smiled and gave Santana a small peck, "There's actually something I would like to share with you."

"Really? What is it?" Santana asked.

"I'll share it at dinner if you don't mind," Quinn said.

"Of course sweets," Santana nodded.

And with that Quinn leaned in and kissed Santana, but it wasn't a peck like the others, this one was a kiss. Santana immediately sensed it too because she kissed her back passionately. As soon as Santana felt Quinn's lips on her she immediately lost it. She didn't know why but when she kissed Quinn she couldn't help but remember what Biff had said to her in her office. All this anger began to fuel up in Santana's chest. How dare he rub it in her face like it was some sort of a trophy!

As they continued to make out Santana began to get little rougher than Quinn had expected. The grip on Quinn's waist tighten and Santana kissed her roughly, her hands soon began to travel up and make their way under Quinn's shirt.

Quinn assumed that Santana wanted to have sex so of course she didn't mind, she too began to initiate it. She pushed Santana's blazer off her shoulders and Santana quickly threw it aside. However even after this action Santana got even rougher if possible.

"Santana," Quinn mumbled in between the rough kiss, she couldn't help but open her eyes.

Something was definitely wrong with Santana because even when she heard Quinn she didn't pull away.

"Santana," Quinn said once more.

Quinn placed her hands on Santana's shoulders to try and push her away. And after a couple forceful tries she managed to push her away a little bit. However Santana still had her hands around Quinn's body and she had her very close to her

"What is wrong with you!?" Quinn asked desperately.

"What is wrong with me?" Santana asked incredulously, "You know if you weren't in the mood to fuck then you should have said so."

Quinn flinched at Santana's words. Ever since things were good between them she hadn't seen this side of Santana, something must have trigged it.

"What the hell is up with you?" Quinn frowned.

Santana stared a Quinn for what seem like a minute she made a face expression too, it wasn't exactly a frown.

"Nothing," Santana said as she let go of Quinn, "Nothing all.
Without another word she made her way past Quinn and head to the second floor.

Quinn stood there confused. What the hell had just happened?

.

.

.

.

The next morning Santana woke up earlier than usual. She put on some workout clothes and head to back end of the house where she had a built in gym for herself. This was one of the few splurges she did for herself when she got her father's money.

She needed to blow a little bit of steam off from last night. After the short argument with Quinn all Santana did was shower and go to bed. When Santana got out of the shower she found Quinn already lying down in bed, pretending to be asleep. This was the first time in a long time that they didn't cuddle at all, each one them stay on their own side.

Santana spent her whole work out feeling guilty. She shouldn't have treated Quinn like that, not only was it wrong but she had been extremely disrespectful.

She was however startled by the sound of her ringtone.

"Oh fuck," Santana breathed out as she almost dropped she weights on her chest, she was bench pressing.

She set the weights down and went to go see who it was, she figured it was Rachel. However she was a little surprised to see that it was Dr. Winston. That was very strange.

"Santana Lopez," She answered.

"Mrs. Lopez, I am sorry to call you this early," Dr. Winston began.

"No it' fine, but what's going on?" Santana asked.

Dr. Winston cleared his throat, "As you know we have been treating Mr. Fabray to the best of our abilities. Last week we ran another set off test to see if there was any improvement with Mr. Fabray's health."

"And was there?" Santana urged.

"I tried to tell Mr. Fabray earlier but he refused to hear it," Dr. Winston explained, "That's why I called you."

"What were the results?"

Dr. Winston took a deep breath, "I'm afraid the treatment did him no good. It didn't help in the slightest…The results also showed that the cancer has spread even more…Mr. Fabray only has a few more months to live."

Holy fuck.

"H-how many?" Santana managed to get out.

"8 months tops, and that's if he decides to take any medication," Dr. Winston explained, "Without it we're looking at maybe 4 or 5."

"Fuck," Santana muttered.

"I am so sorry Mrs. Lopez," Dr. Winston said.

"Thank you for your call," Santana said before hanging up.

Santana felt breathless, how the hell was she going to tell Russell? How in the world was she going to tell Quinn!?

"Fuck!"

..

..

..

"I was kind of a meanie last night," Santana said, "Now I need to apologize. Do you think she'll forgive me?"

Logan stared back at Santana and smiled, he liked her.

After she had finished up in the gym Santana showered and head back to Quinn, yes she had a shower in the gym. As she made her way towards the master bed room she heard Logan cry out, so she went to go check on him and surely enough he was already up.

Santana picked him up in her arms and headed to the bedroom.

She had to admit, she was kind of really attached to him; lately she's been cutting back at work so she could spend more time with him and Quinn. They really were in a good place…well for now.

Santana entered the bed room to find Quinn awake, she was on her phone, texting Santana presumed.

"You're awake before 9 a.m. wow," Santana said.

Quinn quickly dropped the phone on her lap; she didn't hear them come in.

"Oh yeah, my uh phone woke me up," Quinn said.

"Who was it?"

"My mom," Quinn said.

Panic quickly rose in Santana's chest, had her mom told her anything about Russell? No, it wasn't possible, she didn't even know yet.

"Really? What did she want?"

"Oh you know her," Quinn began, "Lunch date."

Santana nodded.

Quinn turned her attention over to Logan, "And how is the most handsome boy in the whole world."

Logan squealed.

Santana smiled and made her way over to Quinn, sitting on the edge of the bed. Quinn immediately took Logan in her arms and planted several kisses on his forehead. Santana couldn't help but watch in awe.

"I need to apologize for last night," Santana began, "I was outline and disrespectful. You know I just had a rough day at work and that's no excuse but I'm sorry."

Quinn bit her lip, maybe it had something to do with Biff?

"I understand," Quinn nodded, "And I accept your apology."

Santana gave her a small smile and then reached her hand out and ran her hand through Logan's baby hair. She loved seeing him with Quinn; she looked like a natural mother with him.

"I really am sorry sweetheart," Santana sighed,

"San it's fine," Quinn began, "Besides it means a lot to me that you apologized."

Santana didn't say anything, instead she looked down.

"Do you think it be possible if we had dinner with my family sometime this week? I really want us to spend some time with my dad," Quinn said, "You know, he really likes Logan."

Santana quickly looked up at the mention of Russell. At that moment it took every ounce of her being to keep herself composed.

"Of course," Santana said with a fake smile, "I have to get ready for work, but I'll see you tonight?"

"Are we still doing dinner?" Quinn asked.

Santana smiled, "Of course, if that's what you wish."

"Santana I would love to go to dinner with you," Quinn said.

Santana smiled and moved forward giving her a gentle kiss, "I will make the arrangements then."

..

..

..

A FEW HOURS LATER

..

"Don't repeat it Santana,"

Santana didn't even try to say anything, how could she? What do you even say in moments like this?

She stood in front of Russell who was seated in one of the office couches.

She had gone to work for a couple hours to make sure everything was good with business before coming straight to see Russell. Luckily Judy was out grocery shopping. They had made their way into Russell's study where there was nothing but silence. If Santana didn't know any better she knew that Russell already knew what she was going to say. Dr. Winston didn't have to tell him anything.

"You haven't been feeling well have you?" Santana asked, already knowing the answer.

Russell let out a low sigh, "Judy knows…you know I think she's finally coming to terms with it. Quinn on the other hand…This will destroy her."

"I know," Santana almost whispered, her heart breaking for Quinn.

"I just want to know one thing," Russell said, "How long do I have?"

"6 months top with medication," Santana said softly.

Russell chuckled, "Come on Santana, you know I don't do medication. How long do I really have?"

"Maybe 3 or 4."

Russell chuckled but it slowly died down and he let out a defeated sigh, "Life is a bitch…take care of her will you? Promise me you will."

"Of course," Santana said almost too quickly.

"And she can't know about this."

Santana frowned, "She has the right to know, she'll want to stand by you!"

"It's my choice."

"She will hate me."

Russell chuckled once again, "There's a fine line between love and hate."

"She has the right to know," Santana repeated, "I've kept enough from her already."

Russell shook his head, "These next few month have to go on as normal, I want to look at her and see her happy. You know ever since she married you she's been really happy, the happiest I've seen her actually. And that's the way I want to continue to see her…If she finds out then every time I look into her eyes all I will see is grief and I don't want that. I know I am being selfish with Santana, but she can't know."

Santana nodded slightly, "As you wish."

"Thank you," Russell said quietly, "Thank you for helping with everything. Xavier would have been proud of you."

Santana didn't say anything on that.

"Though I know you don't care," Russell began, "I also have to apologize to you…I saw how he treated you and I never stopped him, I never told him anything. All I did was watch him make mistakes with you and made sure that I didn't make them with my own. And for that I am sorry."

Santana clenched her jaw, "I don't think this is a conversation we should have at all, or ever."

Russell just nodded.

Before either of them could comment they clearly heard the front door open, they figured it must be Judy…boy they were wrong.

"Dad?"

Santana felt a little panic rise but remained composed, not breaking eye contact with Russell.

"In here honey!" Russell called out.

Soon enough Quinn entered the office with Logan in her arms. However she stopped as soon as she saw Santana and her father.

"San…what are you doing here?" Quinn frowned, this was odd.

"Uh I came to see how your father was doing," Santana said with one last look at Russell, "The doctors called, said he was improving. He is one healthy man."

The lie burned Santana's mouth as it came out.

Russell smiled at Quinn, "We both wanted to give you the good news."

"Dad that's amazing news," Quinn said as the biggest smile broke out on her face.

"Now let me see that kid of yours. I have to admit I've missed him," Russell said with a smile.

Quinn let out a laugh and made her way over to her dad and handed him Logan. Logan already familiarized with Russell happily went with him. Santana notice how Russell referred to Logan as their child, Quinn didn't seem to mind and honestly neither did she. Perhaps it was time to take the next step with Logan.

Quinn made her way over to Santana and wrapped her arms around her giving a kiss on the cheek, "I'm so glad to see you."

Santana smiled, "Me too."

She watched as Quinn turned her attention to her dad and Logan and how she giggled at how goofy her dad was with him. Quinn finally seemed happy with her, she had finally managed to make her happy. But now, it was only a matter of time before it was taken all away.

Santana took a deep breath and placed a kiss on the side of Quinn's head. She was not ready for was about to happen.

..

..

.

A WEEK LATER

..

.

"Reservation for Santana Lopez," Santana said.

The host immediately greeted Santana and led them through the restaurant to a more private area but still near the music. This restaurant was extremely fancy; it even had a dance floor. The music was live and not to mention classy. Everyone was wearing really fancy dresses or a suit and tie.

Santana however out did herself with the dinner reservation. The seats they had had an amazing view of the city. Santana had the best wine brought out, and to top it off the music was amazing.

"You look beautiful," Santana smiled, "Have I mentioned that?"

Quinn giggled, "Yes you have, many times!"

Santana chuckled, "Well you are."

"Thank you but you know you don't look so bad yourself honey," Quinn said and gave Santana a sexy wink.

Santana smiled so hard that her dimple was displayed.

Quinn reached over and caressed Santana's dimple, "I love this."

"Thank you love," Santana winked at her and then motioned the waiter over.

Quinn took a sip from her glass of wine when she felt her phone vibrate. She decided to check who it was in case it was about Logan. However all the happiness she felt at this moment disappeared and anxiety took over.

I need to see you again, I need you.

-Biff.

Quinn's heart clenched and she quickly deleted the message and down the rest of her wine. Luckily this went unnoticed by Santana, since the waiter she had called arrived with a black fancy folder. Santana thanked him as he left. She set her drink aside and placed the folder in front of her before making eye contact with Quinn.

"So there's actually something I want to ask you," Santana said.

"What is it?" Quinn asked, she couldn't help but feel nervous.

"I want us to adopt Logan."

Quinn was speechless.

"You know at first we both agreed that we would hold off on have children because we needed to work on our relationship," Santana began, "But then Logan came along and changed everything. He brought us together and believe it or not we became a family…I want us to be a real family now."

"I don't know what to say," Quinn practically whispered.

Here Santana was offering her a chance to have family; here Santana was practically giving her the world. And then there was Biff, her first love.

Santana handed Quinn the folder in front of her. Quinn took it and scanned through it.

They were adoption papers.

"One of the perks of being rich is being able to pull a few strings," Santana said, "I'm trying to make us his parents as soon as possible."

What got to Quinn was the last page that declared her mother of Logan. And right then and there she knew what the answer would be

"I love him Santana, and I want to be with him and I want to be with you! So yes let's be a family." Quinn gushed.

Santana let out a bright smile, her dimple once again was on display. Instead of saying anything to that, Santana stood up and extended her hand out to Quinn.

"Will you dance with me Mrs. Lopez?"

"Of course."

You and me, we made a vow

For better or for worse

I can't believe you let me down

But the proof's in the way it hurts

Quinn closed the folder and took Santana's hand. She followed to the center of the dance floor where they embraced each other and began to sway to the music.

For months on end I've had my doubts

Denying every tear

I wish this would be over now

But I know that I still need you here

Quinn swallowed thick when she heard the lyrics to the song. Once again her happiness didn't last long, guilt began to consume her.

You say I'm crazy

'Cause you don't think I know what you've done

But when you call me baby

I know I'm not the only one

It was now that she knew; now she figured out that she wanted to be with Santana. She wanted to be with her forever, and even though she still had slight feelings for Biff, the ones she had for Santana were stronger.

But she felt so guilty.

Biff had kissed her two times and Santana didn't know about them. She wanted to tell her so bad but she was terrified on how she would react. But what was best was to forget about it, it did no good telling Santana now.

You've been so unavailable

Now sadly I know why

Your heart is unobtainable

Even though Lord knows you kept mine

Quinn had made her decision. She would was done with Biff and the secret meetings, she wasn't going to see him anymore. She was going to let him go and give him the chance to find someone who loved him back.

She chose Santana.

Quinn knew this was the most selfish thing she has done but for Santana, she didn't care. She would forget about the past and focus solely on her family. Perhaps this was wrong of her to do but she didn't want to risk losing Santana.

You say I'm crazy

'Cause you don't think I know what you've done

But when you call me baby

I know I'm not the only one

"What was it you wanted to share with me?" Santana asked.

Quinn lifted her head from Santana's shoulder and looked her straight in the eyes.

"I think I'm in love with you."

I have loved you for many years

Maybe I am just not enough

You've made me realize my deepest fear

By lying and tearing us up

"I fell in love with you," Quinn clarified, "And I know that our relationship has always been on the edge and that we're always fighting but I fell in love with you."

Santana let out a smile and leaned into Quinn's ear.

"I've been in love with you since you're seventh birthday," Santana whispered.

Quinn couldn't help but smile and wrapped her arms around Santana's neck, holding her tight.
