Castiel was gone two days and in that time Sam, Dean and Claire found nothing further on the Mark of Cain making Dean more and more panicked.

He wasn't ready to find his soulmate. Hell he didn't think he would ever be ready for that. How would she react to his life? Could he really bring some innocent woman into his world? And he knew she would be innocent the book had said that her purity would keep the mark at bay. How could he be with someone pure? He was rotten to the core. No when Cas returned with cupid he would just say no. they couldn't force him to fall in love. Well cupid could but he didn't think Cas would go along with that. These where the thoughts that ran through his head morning, noon, and night and nothing he did could get rid of them. He was even temped to start drinking again but refused to give in to that craving.

He was close to finally giving in when Castiel returned followed by a woman with bright red hair and a sweet smile on her face. I guess cupid has arrived, Dean thought standing to greet the new guest.

Once Castiel reached the table that the rest of his family were sitting round he introduced the woman with him.

"This is Amora. She is the cupid assigned to the Winchester family." At this sentence both Sam and Deans eyes widened and their jaws dropped. Their family had their own cupid. Really?

The woman smiled at the three people in front of her.

"Hello Dean, Sam and Claire." She said making Claire confused.

"I thought you said she was the Winchesters cupid. How does she know who I am?" she asked Castiel, but before he could answer Amora did for him.

"You are a Winchester now. Or at least you are in the eyes of heaven child. So I am your cupid too." She replied sweetly.

Claire should have been freaked out by that statement but looking into Amora's face she felt peace and love instead.

"Amora." Castiel said warningly as he saw Claire's eyes get glazed over with happiness.

"She deserves some peace brother. Why should I not give it to her?" Amora replied turning Castiel.

"You are here to tell us who Dean's soulmate is so we can go and find her." Castiel replied narrowing his eyes at his sister.

"Whoa. I never said that I wanted to know my soulmate Cas." Dean interrupted.

"Dean we haven't found any other way. How could knowing her name effect anything? I mean we still need to find her once we got that." Sam replied to his brother.

"No you don't." Amora murmured looking up from the books she was perusing on the table.

"What do you mean?" Castiel asked as both Dean and Sam gave her identical confused looks.

"You all know exactly where Dean's soulmate is. And finding out the name will defiantly change things. Think well before you ask for it Dean." she answered sitting down on a chair and looking up at them all happily.

"Wait. I know my soulmate?" Dean asked scared now. Who the hell could it be? Everyone he had ever truly known was dead. Except Lisa or Cassie? Was one of them his soulmate? If so he didn't want to know. He didn't want them involved in his life thank you.

"Yes and no." Amora said calmly.

"Wait what?" Dean asked seriously confused now.

"Yes you know your soulmate, no it is not Lisa or Cassie." Amora clarified for Dean.

"Are you reading my mind?" he growled at her. He hated it when damn angels did that.

"No just your feelings." Amora replied amicably.

"Okay so who is his soulmate?" Sam asked interrupting before dean was truly rude to their cupid.

"I'm sorry Sam but I can't tell you that. Only Dean and his soulmate have the right to know." Amora replied with a shrug so Sam turned to his brother.

"Dean, come on just find out." He said. He needed to know so he could set them up. He wasn't giving up on the one thing that could cure his brother.

Castiel sat next to Amora with a frown on his face. On the journey here he had asked if she could tell him who Deans soulmate was and she had said yes and yet she had just told Sam that she could only tell Dean and his soulmate which meant…he was Dean's soulmate?

This realisation brought Castiel's head up and looked deep into his sisters eyes with panic close to the surface. He was Dean's soulmate. Dean would never accept that.

"You would be surprised brother." Amora responded to his unvoiced thoughts.

"Wait what's going on?" Dean asked worried by the look on Cas' face.

"Castiel has just figured out the identity of your soulmate." Amora replied smiling.

Dean turned to Cas to ask but the words dried in his throat as their eyes locked. Cas looked scared and panicked but also hopeful? What the hell? What was going on? Why was Cas like that?

"Okay, who the hell is my soulmate." Dean growled to the cupid in front of him. He needed all the information to work out what was going on here.

Amora smiled at Dean and replied simply "Castiel, angel of the lord."

Sam's eyes widened and he quickly sat at that statement, Claire came out of her daze and joined him, though she was more keen to watch how this turned out now they weren't getting some stranger coming into the family.

Dean was left the only one standing and he was opening and closing his mouth like a fish. His brain couldn't process what Amora had just said. Castiel was his soulmate. Cas. But what did that mean? Cas was a guy, well in a male vessel anyway so how? Yeah okay he knew how but he wasn't gay. He was straight damn it. How could his soulmate be a damn male angel?

"Dean why don't you sit down and I will answer all your questions. "Amora replied and waited for Dean to comply before continuing. "When Castiel pulled you from hell he created a bond between your soul and his grace. That bond is akin to the concept of soulmates. Now you are hampered with the Mark of Cain. A mark of pure evil. The only thing that could balance that is the grace of an angel, pure goodness. So you and Castiel complete the bonding ritual and join together for eternity then his grace will be shared with you and cleanse the Mark. As long as neither of you break the bond anyway." Amora explained.

"But he's running low on grace as it is. If he shares what's left he will die quicker." Dean replied fearful of losing Cas.

"On the contrary Dean. As his grace will keep the mark at bay your soul will keep his grace replenished. He will not die. Or at least not any time soon." Amora replied with a smile to the man sitting across from her.

At that Dean sat back. This was a way to save Cas. But… "What do you mean by complete the bonding ritual?" He asked cautiously.

"I mean you need to make love Dean." She said as if speaking to a simpleton, she then continued in a more normal tone. "After you have been married by an angel of course."

"Of course. Married by an angel." Dean muttered sarcastically.

"You need to complete your union in both the angelic and human ways Dean." Amora replied snappily at the man. She did not lose her temper often but dean was wearing her thin.

"Okay fine sorry." Dean said trying to placate the angel. He didn't want to piss her off in case he needed her to marry him and Cas. Damn was he seriously considering this?

"So are you willing to allow me to perform the ritual?" Amora said to him and Castiel. Though before Cas could speak Dean did.

"Wait there feathers. I think Cas and I need to have a chat first." He said standing as Castiel nodded his agreement.

"Fine go ahead." Amora responded rolling her eyes at the two of them.

At that Dean nodded to Cas to follow him out of the library leaving Sam and Claire sitting there just staring at Amora still not quite getting over the fact that Cas and Dean were soulmates.
