Chapter Eleven
Match-Making
"Thank you so much!" A girl of roughly eleven squealed and skipped away.
"No problem! Thanks for coming!" Bella called to her, laughing, then she turned to the next girl in line. "Hey! What's your name?"
"Uh, A-Abby." The bright red girl stuttered, handing over her CD.
"Got it." Bella smiled at her and quickly scrawled a message and her signature. "I totally love your shirt!"
"Uh, th-thank you."
"My pleasure. Nice to meet you!" The singer smiled warmly at her as the girl thanked her again and walked away. Suddenly, Bella's face dropped as her stomach started to feel all wobbly again. Just as the security guards started to let the next person, a boy this time, through, Bella held up a finger, got up and briskly walked into the store behind her.
As soon as she was inside, she sped over to the toilets and hurled her guts up. She waited a few minutes until she was sure she was done, popped a mint in her mouth, checked her appearance in the mirror and headed back outside. This had happened four times since the signing had started, so people must be assuming she just has a very weak bladder, or had a bad breakfast burrito.
Bella resumed her place at the table and gestured for the security guards to let the boy through. She plastered her winning smile on her face as he walked up to her. "Sorry for the wait, what's your name?" She began again.
All in all, the signings took roughly five hours. She was only required to be there for two, but Bella insisted on meeting every single person who had lined up. Eventually, she was guided inside, where she was thanked profusely by the staff of Forever 21 (two of which asked for a picture) and given several large bags of complimentary clothing.
By the time Bella had made it home, Alice, Rosalie, Jasper, Emmett and Edward were already back from sight-seeing (Bella wasn't allowed anyone to come to the signing with her, so Rosalie, Jasper and Edward had gone back to their hotel to change before they headed off around New York with Alice and Emmett).
"How did it go?" Alice asked as Bella threw herself onto the bed.
Bella just groaned in response.
"That bad?" Rosalie asked, sympathetically.
"The fans were awesome, as always, but I had to excuse myself like a million times to throw up." Bella heaved herself into a sitting position and leaned on the headboard of the bed.
"I told you not to go!" Alice reminded her.
"I couldn't let them down." Bella whined as she pulled her knees up to her face. "But now I feel like crap."
"We're headed back to Forks tomorrow." Emmett worried. "Will you be able to fly?"
"I'll have to be." The brunette sighed. She suddenly realised something, and she pushed her legs out away from her so she could clearly see the group. "Hang on, when are you three going home?"
"Two days." Jasper informed her.
"And whereabouts in Forks do you live?"
Rosalie told her.
"No way?!" Bella squealed, despite how awful she felt. "That's just the next block over from us!"
"You lot live together?" Edward asked.
"No, I live next door to them with my dad." Bella explained. "I don't see how we've never bumped into each-other before!"
"What?!" Jasper whined. "I was one block away from Bella Swan all this time and I've never met her! Thanks so much, Universe."
"You've met me now, and you can see that I'm not that great." Bella giggled.
"C'mon, Bella, just because you feel like crap doesn't mean you're not awesome." Edward sat down next to her and ruffled her hair. Alice and Rosalie noticed this casual contact and grinned at each-other.
"Well, you're right about one thing." Bella groaned and Edward looked at her expectantly. "I do feel like crap."
"Aw, I'm sorry, honey." Alice said, unhappily, as she walked over to sit down next to her and rub her back comfortingly. "You're going to need to tell people soon, you know." She whispered into Bella's ear.
Bella nodded sadly. "When I get home." She whispered back.
The girls looked back at the group to see the boys staring at them, looking confused.
Bella just shrugged; she had no words for the stress she was currently feeling.
.
"Right," Alice began as she and Rosalie wandered the streets of New York looking for a pizza take-away place for the six of them. "How are we going to get Belward together?"
"Shouldn't we be thinking about Jalice and Rosemmett too?" Rosalie asked.
"Rosemmett?" Alice wrinkled her nose.
"I couldn't think of anything else." Rose shrugged.
"Emmalie?" Alice suggested.
"And that is why you're the brains and I'm the beauty of this operation." Rosalie laughed.
Alice rolled her eyes, but continued. "Anyway, back to your question, Jalice and Emmalie are gonna be fairly simple to sort out, as none of us are as stubborn or shy as Bella and Edward."
Rosalie groaned. "Why do they have to be so difficult?"
Alice sighed. "I don't know, but they are, so we need to make a plan."
"Like what?"
Their conversation was halted as they came across a pizza restaurant. They entered and quickly placed their order, they were told to wait for ten minutes, so they took a seat.
"Like...um...why don't I talk to Bella about how she feels, and you talk to Edward about how he feels, then we get together and discuss what we found out? That could be step one."
"I guess...but what sort of stuff do I ask Edward?" Rosalie asked.
"Uh, stuff like; How much do you like Bella? Are you going to do anything about it? Why do you like her?" Alice suggested. "This step is just to get some background information about the couple."
"Got it." Rosalie paused. "I'm so excited!"
"I can tell 'Rosalice Match-Making' is going to rock." Alice grinned at her.
Hope you enjoyed! The next chapter will be next Tuesday, and it will have Roseward's and Bellalice convos :)
