"All of you will die like the pests you are!" Vegeta exclaimed loudly, making his way over towards Gohan and Goku, each step he took making the ground shake. As soon as he finished them off, he could return back to the matter at hand; crushing Raditz and shattering every bone in his pathetic body. He wasn't finished with that pathetic excuse of a Saiyan yet. He had to teach him a lesson. A lesson that he'd be certain not to forget, but it wasn't as if he'd allow him to live afterwards. No. That didn't align with what what he had in mind. He'd make him suffer and plead for mercy. And once he felt like Raditz got what he deserved, then he'd kill him off.
In the most painful way possible.
And, he deserved nothing less. He left the burden of someday destroying Frieza on the shoulders of he and Nappa, while he enjoyed no longer being under the very being that treated all of the Saiyan race as nothing more than slaves. It wasn't as if he couldn't take Frieza down himself because he could and he would. As the Prince of all Saiyans, he'd be sure to make that bastard pay for all that he has done. But it was a matter of the remaining Saiyans left taking revenge and avenging their race to show Frieza what the Saiyans were really capable of. That was the rest of remaining Saiyans duty, their responsibility and he abandoned that for his own personal gain and reasons. And to Vegeta, that was like a slap in the face to all of the Saiyans that slaved themselves to Frieza. And to think that someone like that, someone like Raditz was a Saiyan, disgusted him.
Ceasing his thoughts for the time being, Vegeta slammed his fist down into the ground, Gohan - once again supporting his father - and Krillin, narrowly avoiding the attack. Both Gohan and Krillin were aware that they couldn't keep avoiding Vegeta's attacks forever, and neither one of them was foreign to the fact that they'd eventually get hit. Though, for Gohan, since he was also supporting his father and making sure to his best abilities that his father didn't get caught up in one of Vegeta's attacks, it was more likely for him to get hit. They also knew that with Goku out of the picture and Raditz seemingly out of the picture as well, they wouldn't last much longer unless they could somehow manage to get rid of Vegeta's tail. And although, fighting Vegeta in his base state would be a challenge, they at least had more of a chance to defeat him - even if that chance was slight.
Vegeta, determined to kill the trio - and then get back to Raditz later, of course - picked up his pace, swinging, stomping, and swatting with as much force as he could muster up as fast and as accurately as he could. He was well aware that they couldn't run forever, and as long as he was in this form, they'd eventually cease to exist, courtesy of him of course, and then he could finally demolish the pathetic excuse of a planet and get back to focusing on his plans and what he had in mind: getter stronger to defeat Frieza and acquire immortality with the dragon balls. Yes, Vegeta thought to himself, Frieza wouldn't know what hit him soon enough. He was the legendary Super Saiyan, and it was his birthright -
His thoughts ceased as well as his movements when he felt something slice through his tail. Cursing himself mentally, he whipped around only to see an overweight human with black messy hair, holding an sword, which was apparently what the overweight human had used to sever his tail. Vegeta began growling in rage at the back of plump human, whom had, as soon as Vegeta made eye contact with him, fled. He couldn't believe he didn't sense him. If he hadn't been so caught up in his thoughts and focusing on the pest he had to rid, then he'd still be in his Ape form. He mentally chastised himself some more as he began to shrink, reverting back to his base form. But he wasn't concerned, he was confident he could still get rid of the trio, this time, though, he'd finish what he started with Raditz.
With that thought in mind, Vegeta began heading towards the badly beaten Raditz, whom was sprawled out on his back, fighting to keep his consciousness. Vegeta smirked upon reaching him, lifting his hand towards him, his palm glowing with the blue orb he was forming. "I hope you didn't think I was done with you just yet."
From an distance, Gohan began to panic at the situation his uncle was in. His uncle could no longer fight, and he'd be killed if he didn't intervene soon. He knew that he was no where near Vegeta's level of power, but he couldn't let his uncle die. Without another doubt, he carefully set his father down, and flew towards Vegeta as fast he could. He could hear Krillin calling out to him in the distance, but he paid the short man no mind, solely focused on protecting his defenseless uncle. As soon as he made it near Vegeta, he cocked his fight and swung as hard as he could. "Leave him alone!"
Vegeta easily evaded Gohan's punch, smirking as the demi-Saiyan continued to attack him with punches and kicks with all of his might. He had to give the brat credit for trying to attack him, but the brat, even on his best day, could never hold a candle to him. He greatly outclassed him, and it didn't take a rocket scientist to figure that out. He was curious though, as to why this brat even cared about someone such a Raditz. Raditz was a failure of a Saiyan, and a disgrace to all of the Saiyan race. "Tell me," Vegeta started, tauntingly, "why do even care about someone as pathetic as Raditz. He's a disgrace and failure."
Gohan growled, putting more force behind his attacks, "You take that back!"
Vegeta dodged yet another one of Gohan's punches and delivered a hard punch of his own, catching the younger Saiyan right in the stomach. He then, kneed the small Saiyan in the stomach, followed by a uppercut and several more blows to the stomach.
"Dang it," Krillin muttered to himself in frustration as he watched from afar. "Gohan won't last much longer. He doesn't stand a chance against Vegeta. I better go help him." Krillin stated out loud, preparing to take off and aid the young boy. But before he could he could take off, Goku's voice stopped him, resulting in Krillin turning to face his best friend in response. "What is it, Goku?"
"I have an idea," he rasped out, lifting his hand and revealing the small orb of blue energy. Since he wasn't able to move his body around as he pleased nor participate like he desired in the ongoing fight with Vegeta, due to the excruciating effects of using the Kaioken, he made an effort to accumulate as much ki as he could, intending to finish the flame-haired Saiyan off with his Spirit Bomb. "I want you to attack Vegeta with this. Keep in mind, though, that as long as you're pure of heart, this energy won't hurt you."
"W-What?" Krillin miraculously managed to stutter out, despite his utter shock. "Why me? Wouldn't Gohan be better off doing this instead of me?"
"This type of power may be too much for him." Goku responded, lifting up his hand with much effort and then, extending his hand towards his bald friend in order for him to take it. "Gohan won't last much longer against Vegeta, so you have to throw it while he's distracted. I won't be able to make another one, so...make it count, okay?"
Krillin closed his eyes, reluctantly taking the blue orb out of Goku's possession. His mind was solely fixated on the notion that this was his only opportunity. Goku had just stated that he wouldn't be able to make another one, so it was practically all or nothing. If he didn't get Vegeta with this attack, then it could seriously be the end for them. With that said, he opened his eyes and took a deep breath, attempting to calm the whirlwind of emotions he was currently feeling. Once he felt as if he was calm enough, he cocked his hand back, preparing to launch it towards the unsuspecting Vegeta. Well, Krillin thought mentally, here goes nothing!
The bald monk threw the blue orb within his possession with as much force as he could muster up, watching as the blue orb flew towards the flame-haired Saiyan at incredible speeds. Unfortunately for the elite Saiyan, whom was too occupied taunting and delivering occasional blows to the demi-Saiyan to pay any mind to the attack hurling towards, hadn't known what hit him. Gohan, having spotted the attack, jumped out of the way, yanking up his uncle in the process.
Gohan watched as Vegeta screamed in agony for what seemed like an eternity before he finally dropped to the ground with a heavy 'thud'. Relief flooded the young boy instantly, more than pleased that the battle that seemed as if it never end in the beginning come to an halt. He transferred his attention from Vegeta on to his uncle, scooping him up an heading towards his father and Krillin.
"It's finally over." Goku commented, a smile on his face.
Krillin shook his head, his gaze hard and determined as proceeded to head for the sword Yajirobe had dropped from scurrying away as far as possible when he severed Vegeta's tail. As soon as he had the sword within his possession, he trekked towards Vegeta only to find out that he was just barely alive. Without another thought, he lifted up the sword, the sharp end facing the Saiyan's abdomen, before driving it -
"Krillin, no!" Goku shouted telepathically, halting Krillin's movements.
"What? Why?," Krillin inquired back telepathically, "If we don't kill him now, he'll - "
"I want to give him the opportunity to change his ways, and maybe, fight him again someday."
"But, Goku - "
"Trust me on this, Krillin! Please!"
Krillin sighed, reluctantly flinging the sword off to the side. Vegeta, whom had been observing through half-lidded eyes, wasted little time, crawling his way back to his spaceship, calling over his shoulder once he reached his ship that he'd live to regret his decision.
(Scene Change)
The helicopter was filled with silence. No one said much of anything, respecting Bulma's need for silence. The blue-haired woman had just recently stopped shredding tears, mentally telling herself that crying wouldn't make anything better, nor would it change the fact that Yamcha, as well as many other of their friends, were dead. Bulma sighed, willing herself to focus on getting to were Goku and the others were. For now, she was only going to take one step at a time. That was all she could do, if she did otherwise, she'd do nothing but stress and frustrate herself.
Shrill beeping captivated her attention, alerting her that they were now in the area were everyone was said to be. Sure enough, when she peered out of the side window, she spotted four bodies. "We're here." She stated out loud, maneuvering the helicopter towards the bodies.
A/N: This chapter isn't how I expected it to turn it out, but then again, I wasn't very motivated to get this done. I've been toying around with the idea of whether or not I should quit this story. I haven't been able to get in contact with the person that does the power levels, and I don't think I'm going to bother him with it anymore; Concerning certain things, I really hate asking people to do things for me. That's just me. Please, review. It really doesn't take long. The Saiyan saga is officially over now.
Next update: possibly two weeks from now
