Slender fingers gently scaled the tan wall of flesh before gripping harder over a shoulder blade...
Pale pink lips were gasping for air, giving off short burst of cold breath, chilling the shoulder its chin was resting on... An alabaster arm was loosely wrapped around a strong neck while it's fingertips roamed through snow white hair... Snow white hair whispered hot breath that sent shivers down alabaster's back before resting it's sweaty forehead against equally sweaty curly bangs of platinum blonde...At the same time two different shades of blue stared into the other, both watching, waiting...
Aquamarine couldn't shake Baby blue's words out of her head...
"I promised you, didn't I?"
BEEEP!
BEEEP!
BEEEP!
BEEEP!
Elsa jolted from her sleep from the sound of her alarm clock. She snorted into her pillow before rolling her shoulders to get some feeling back into the stiff joints. Rising up from the thin bed sheets, her vision was refocusing to take in her neat room shrouded in darkness and curls of platinum blonde hair. She stretched her arms popping some small kinks and let out a big yawn. Having enough of the annoying loud bell, she pounded her fist over the clock, successfully turning the alarm off. Just the first month of school and Elsa is already feeling the pressure as student president. Passing her entry exams with walking ease, Elsa was encouraged by some of the teachers to inspire other students to keep their grades up, and other teachers offered a good luck pat on the back.
At the school she was attending, it was hard staying strong as their freshmen class president. Especially trying to keep their grade average from dropping any lower.
Elsa growled to herself, the small headache pulsing in her head growing bigger from the troubles coming today, but she pushed those bothersome thoughts aside and prepared for another day at school.
Cleaned, dressed and hair pulled into a neat woven braid bun in thirty minutes tops, Elsa skipped down the stairs to greet her mother and her sister with a cheerful smile.
"Good morning Elsa. You slept well I hope?" Elsa smiled back with a nod before joining her at the table with a simple breakfast of sunny side eggs and link sausages, croissants, a salad and a cup of hot cocoa. Anna, Elsa's redheaded energizer bunny of a sister was chowing down of her eggs and croissants with lightning speed and soon inhaled her salad.
"More please?" Anna held up her empty plate to show she was ready her the second helping of food. Idun chuckled before wiping her daughter's greasy cheeks clean.
"Now Anna, I've told you before to eat slowly. The foods not going to disappear anyway besides our stomachs. You don't want to get another stomachache at school again do you?" the little redhead solemnly shook her head before taking her cup of cocoa and slowly sipped the hot beverage. Elsa smiled and continued her meal, giving light chatter with her mother and sister before the doorbell rang.
"I'll get it!" Anna rushed out her seat before either women could stop her. Idun sighed about Anna's table manners while Elsa gave a chuckle, enjoying the warm atmosphere of being with her family-
"Mom! Elsa! Danny's at the door!" Elsa chocked of her cocoa, coughing rather loudly being caught off guard by Danny at her home so early.
"Oh Elsa, you alright?" Elsa waved off her worried mother, dapping her mouth and collecting her things.
"Nope! Ready for school! Margret, Anna and I are leaving for the day!"
"Then here you go! Enjoy your lunches!" Margret, the Winter's house's nanny, handed Elsa their wrapped lunches and Elsa smiled in thanks.
"We'll see you ladies tonight!" Elsa waved at her mother and nanny before skipping down the steps to the front door. Quickly slipping on her shoes, she grabbed Anna's schoolbag before-
"Don't forget to tell Daniel your mother and I say good morning!" Elsa flinched at Margret's yell from upstairs, her hand just touching the doorknob. Just remembering something important, she fished out her black rim glasses from her skirt pocket and slipped them on over her owl-like blue eyes. She sighed, counting to ten, and she pulled the door open to reveal her sister chatting away next to a tall young man wearing a boy's school uniform. Judging from his hands in his pockets and the slouched posture against the stone gate he would look to be bored, but the small smile on his face and his undivided attention to the chatty redhead spoke differently. Only when Elsa shut the door behind her did he look up to her face with baby blue eyes boring into her unique shade of blue.
"Morning Fenton. If only you could be on time for school and not for free handouts." Elsa lightly glared at the male student just staring back at her. Elsa walked briskly up to the duo before she noticed Anna's state.
"Anna! Walking out of the house looking like you just woke up! Your hair's not even brushed back!" Elsa quick hands seized her now squirmy sister and quickly brushed her red hair into two small pigtails behind her head with pink ribbons. Anna frowned up at Elsa but the eldest wasn't deterred. Danny chose the time to laugh at the sisterly squabble.
"Listen your sister now Anna. It could be worse." Elsa glared at Danny for the unwanted comment, but Anna smiled bouncing off ahead of the two teens. Elsa walked off without saying anything else, leaving her stone gated home and Daniel behind. Quickly Danny caught up much to Elsa's annoyance, and she showed it by glaring to the side at Danny.
"You know, you keep frowning like it will stay permanent for the rest of the day." Danny barked a laugh when Elsa's glare hardened.
"I can't believe you encourage Anna to behave in such a roughish manner. She needs to act like a girl, not a tomboy."
"And I keep telling you, almost every morning," Elsa turned to look at Danny only to get taped on the forehead by surprise. "She's just a kid. Let her have her fun before she has to grow up." Elsa quickly swatted his hand away, huffed and walked off without him. Catching up with Anna, she gave her sister her bag, helping her slip on her red school bag. The bright red matched with her white and red school uniform, black stockings and brown shoes.
"Have a good day in school." Elsa smiled at down Anna.
"Hmm, thanks sis! You too!" Anna smiled brightly for a minute before skipping off to the school gates waving back at the teens. Elsa waved as well until her body disappeared into the school building. Elsa sighed sadly before walking off towards school. Danny peered down at Elsa's face and noticed her forlorn look in her eyes.
"We're heading to school and you don't look excited about it." Danny saw no change in her face, seeing as she wasn't taking the bait, and tried a different tactic.
"You got any extras from breakfast?" Elsa frowned harder at that question.
"Fenton, I don't understand why you don't eat at home. I know your sister cooks just fine and feeds you in the morn-"
"Try starving me to death-"
"Daniel!" Elsa was ready to scowl him, but he quickly cut her off.
"Look, somethings on your mind. It's worst not being able to share it with someone right? It's bothering you not to say something about it." Elsa could only stare at Danny's face, unable to utter a word. He does this everyday. Catching her off guard and it didn't make her feel good,... but at the same time it's nice to know he was concerned about her and could see she was troubled without having to say a word.
Danny was good about that with people. Even if half the time he's beating the male majority into the ground.
The platinum blonde high schooler pushed her glasses up and kept walking towards school. Daniel kept his eyes on Elsa waiting patiently for her to speak up. Elsa might be able to fool others, but after years of growing up with the sisters, Daniel could read the small body language that were invisible to everyone else. Anna wouldn't might telling you what she thought, seemingly running on endless energy, but with her composed elder sister Elsa was much harder to unravel.
Well for anyone else. For Daniel, it's just hitting the right buttons.
Elsa played with a stray bang in front of her forehead before frowning when she noticed that Danny didn't let up his staring, and giving her a small smile of encouragement.
What harm would it do to just tell him... He wouldn't laugh would he?
"Well, the thing is, I want to have my braid out instead of the tight bun." Elsa's voice slowly turned into a mumble, now fully embarrassed about sharing such a wish. To Danny no less. Silence quickly turned into full blown laughter.
"Seriously, was that all you are worried about? A stupid hairstyle?!" Danny almost fell over, but seeing Elsa harshly glare at him he opted to control himself. Elsa stomped off, walking faster to school muttering to herself for opening up on such a difficult topic. Danny quickly caught up and peered down at her sour face while keeping pace.
He had the nerve to look apologetic.
"Elsa, wait-come on. You know I'm just joking around."Elsa quickly snapped, a slender finger jabbing his chest.
"That's just it Daniel, you always are in a joking mood! Never one to be controlled by authority. It's either Daniel's way or nobodies happy, and you, you-" Elsa was at this point huffing, letting Daniel witness her pent up anger unleashed, but when she took notice of his face... He looked really confused.
"So, you won't wear your hair the way you want it because of your mother?" Elsa froze for a second before turning her head away.
Realization settled in before shame reared its ugly head into her brain like a worm wiggling inside an apple. As much as Daniel could get her to loose her nerve at times, he didn't deserve her outburst that didn't involve him in the first place. The fear of displeasing her mother made her feel sick to her stomach. Daniel may not fear the consequences behind his actions, for if he did he had an impressive poker face, but Elsa did. She never wanted to disappoint or let anyone down, especially if what she was doing felt right. Her mother felt like it was time for her to look more like a woman and dress the part, so Elsa didn't complain if she was to wear her hair in the tight and sometimes bothersome bun.
She desired to wear her French braid out and free, but to please her mother weight greater in her heart.
The bobby pin behind her head suddenly snapped out of place releasing her wrapped French braid free from its tight hold and it swung low behind her back. Elsa gasped, realizing the mishap and tried to rescue the bobby pin but one look from Daniel and she quickly squashed down her panic. She huffed but it only made Daniel chuckle.
"See, wasn't so bad, just let it go and wear your hair like you want it. Your mom is not going to hear a bad report about your hair being out of its bun. Besides, anyone getting bad reports about hairstyles it would be me." Danny pointed to his snow white hair styles close to a fluffy Mohawk up top with his left side shaved very short but noticeably a raven black shade. Elsa stared at his choice of hairstyle and softly smiled while shaking her head. Not her first choice, or second third or fourth, but seeing this rebellion style for a year now she couldn't see anyone else pulling this look but the little dork she grew up with.
She reached on her tip toes and fluffed the spiky front of his bangs, secretly marveling at how soft his hair was.
Elsa glanced at Danny's face and noticed him staring back, those smoldering blue eyes... and Elsa jumped back to give Daniel some breathing space. She stared at the sidewalk they both stood on, a soft flush appeared across her cheeks. She couldn't believe how carried away she could get when it came to looking presentable. When they were kids, she would act like a second mother to their friends. Of course as kids the act was icky and gross, but now in there mid teens the act was appreciative at times.
For Daniel though...
"Elsa?" Said girl snapped out of her thinking to see an outstretched hand underneath her face. Elsa looked at Daniel in confusion. "Sis kick me out the house because I didn't like her bad cooking. You got any leftovers? I'm starving!" The sound of his grumpy stomach clarified his statement.
. . . . . Elsa flushed face immediately flared from embarrassed to anger. If her grunting, trying to suppress her boiling rage but failing, didn't help show her frustration.
"DANIEL!"
POW!
Elsa stomped off to the approaching metal school gates leaving Daniel with half his face crushed into the stone wall surrounding the tall high school of Casper High. A black eye throbbed dark purple while the other half of his face was engraved through the giant crater from the force of the hard slap of the brown school bag. Despite the pain, Daniel smiled, in fact he chuckle. Pulling his head out of the hole his thick head created and dusting off his black school uniform, Daniel watched the platinum blond walk off without him. Their school's color of red and white looked great against her alabaster skin and bringing out her aquamarine eyes. He watched as she interacted with a few students, all females, and relaxed at the sight of her smile.
Elsa really knew how to put a smile on people's faces, but her hidden temper was a sight he loved seeing more, a beautiful picture he kept to himself.
Before she completely vanished into the crowd, she spun on her heels and threw a white ball straight for his face, which he easily caught without a single flinch. Warmth seeped into his hand when he discovered that the white ball were wrapped croissants. Baby blues met aquamarine for three seconds, but the message was given.
"Don't be late."
And she was gone, blending through the growing crowd of high schoolers getting ready for another day of school. Danny noticed his two best friends approaching him, and quickly devoured his small breakfast.
What would today bring for the lucky Daniel Fenton? Number One troublemaker and rebel at Caper High?
