A/N: So, I know that it takes forever for me to get these chapters out, but we shall get there eventually. Enjoy
It's Monday; also known as the day of Esme's second date. I really don't feel like going to school today. With the idea of skipping school and heading to San Francisco, I hop out of bed and rummage through my closet for something comfortable. I emerge in a batman tank top, cut off shorts, and vans. Then I grab a beanie from my desk and walk to my vanity. Once I get my hair combed forward, I put on my hat.
"Em, I'm not going to school today," I say as soon as I get downstairs. He looks up from his breakfast and nods his head. With that, I leave out the back door and shift. I begin running in the direction of Carlisle's house and get there in less than five minutes. Quickly, I shift back and knock on the door.
"Hey, Irina, I'm taking Esme away for the day." Irina smiles at me and opens the door wide enough for me to go through. I don't waste any time charging into Esme's room. She looks up from her closet half dressed. I stare at her for like a minute before channeling my inner Alice to find her a nice outfit for today.
"Isabella, what are-"
"Just trust me Esme," I say as I toss her something similar to what I'm wearing. She puts it on without questions, and I fix her hair enough to put a beanie on it. When I finish, I give her a good morning kiss and drag her behind me.
"Bye Carlisle and Irina!" I call out as we exit the front door.
"All you have to do is follow me, ok?" I tell her as I shift. Once she nods her head, I take off through the forest. Every now and then, I make sure she's beside me.

About an hour later, we make it to San Fran. I stop and shake out my fur before shifting back to my skin. Then I grab Esme's hand and lead her through the city. I catch a taxi cab which takes us along the Golden Gate Bridge. Though she's seen it before, she still gasps in awe at the wonderful structure. The taxi takes us to Union Square. We get out and begin walking again.
Around noon, we stop in a café so I can get lunch. Esme stares at me fascinated. When I look at her, I cock my head to the side to ask her a silent question. She shakes her head and grins.
"What; is there something on my face?" I ask as I brush all across my cheeks and mouth. She shakes her head again and giggles.
"No, Isa; it's just that today has been amazing! When I saw all of this with Carlisle and Irina, it wasn't half as special." The look Esme gives me is full of adoration. My heart swells with my emotions, but I keep them hidden from view. We continue our day in the city and head to the forest around six.
"Isa?" Esme questions hesitantly. I nod my head for her to continue.
"Do- do you think I can ride on your back?" she asks shyly. In all the years I've known her, this is the first time she's been shy about asking me for anything. I wrap my arms around her waist and pull her into me. Her face immediately buries into my shoulder; she silently breathes in my scent as I do the same.
"Esme, you never need to be afraid to ask for anything. Of course you can ride on my back. I'd never have a problem with that, silly woman." I grin and pull her face up before kissing her soundly. I quickly shift into my wolf and she climbs on my back carefully. When I begin running, she buries her face in my back and sighs. I mentally grin and run us the whole way home.
