School was becoming a drag as Christmas time was coming around.
Yuki and Kyo stopped coming to the club room on certain days, mostly because Yuki would spend his time trying to read his pain away. Most of the damn library books. While Kyo was in the garden area trying to meditate.
Tohru would just talk to Haruhi about her pain since Kyo stopped seeing her.
"How are you feeling?" Haruhi asked. "It's weird. Never felt things like this since...my mother died." Tohru explained. Haruhi looked down at the ground, "Same here." she said. Tohru looked Haruhi in the eyes who nodded in sympathy.
"Tohru!" shouted someone running into the room.
"Ka..Kagura?" Tohru said as the lovable yet dangerous boar ran up and wrapped her arms around Tohru. "Hi hey. What are you doing here?" Tohru asked. "I came to check on all of you, I heard that Akito stopped by a few weeks ago." she explained.
"Yeah, it's been tense. Momiji keeps staying at Honey's place for awhile and..." Tohru's voice trailed off.
"Kyoya and Yuki broke up." Kagura finished.
"How did you-?" Tohru questioned. "Eh, we females see stuff. Plus, Yuki looked happier for awhile being around Kyoya." Kagura said. Tohru nodded, "Oh uh, Haruhi this is Kagura, and Kagura this is Haruhi." she explained. "Hi." Haruhi said. "Nice to meet you." Kagura said with a sweet smile. "You're beautiful." Kagura said making Haruhi smile. "I'm a girl." she said. Kagura's face dropped as Tohru giggled.
Kagura looked around the music room, "This place is so pink." she said. "That's what I say." Haruhi said, "But you'd be surprised what goes in here." she said looking over to Tamaki who was speaking to Mori. Kyoya was completely MIA. Tamaki looked up at Haruhi and gave her a smile. Haruhi smiled back.
"Um Tohru, have you seen Kyo anywhere?" Kagura asked. Tohru's face dropped at the mention of Kyo. "Everything okay?" Kagura asked. Tohru had to turn her face away to prevent Kagura from seeing the tears. "Hey hey, what's wrong?" Kagura asked rubbing Tohru's back. "I'm sorry." Tohru said wiping her eyes. "Okay, okay." Kagura said, before looking up to Hikaru coming over to them both.
"hey, hey everything okay?" Hikaru asked touching Tohru's shoulder. Kagura paused.
What a hunk! She clearly had a thing for redheads.
"I'm good, I'm good thanks Hikaru." Tohru said.
"Okay." Hikaru said turning to Kagura who immediately blushed. He cracked a smile and walked off. Tohru noticed and smiled at Kagura's blushing. "Kaguraaa." Tohru joked. "Wha? What?" Kagura questioned. "That's Hikaru, he's one the hosts here along with his twin brother, Kaoru." she said. "He has a twin?" Kagura questioned. "Yeah, Hikaru is the more protective one though." Tohru explained. Kagura looked over her shoulder to Hikaru who sat down next to his brother on one of the couches. He looked up at Kagura again, cocked his head to the side and grinned at her. Kagura blushed, smiled shyly and turned away.
"Ohhhh you like him?" Tohru joked. "What?! No! I will always love my Kyo! Always!" Kagura said. She then stopped her rant, "But what does Hikaru do for the club?" she asked.
"He plays the Brotherly Love thing with his brother to make the girls go crazy." Tohru explained. "They entertain girls?" Kagura asked. "Yeah, Tamaki's the president and he believes in beauty and all." Tohru explained. "Hmm." Kagura said, turning to Hikaru again who was staring back at her.
Yuki was still in the library reading away.
"Hey." someone said above him, Kyo.
"What are you doing in here?" Yuki questioned. "I'm not an idiot, i read sometimes, don't push it." Kyo snapped quickly as he sat down across from Yuki. "What's up?" Yuki asked. "You tell me." Kyo answered back. Yuki looked up to the front desk of the library where Kyoya had just entered.
Yuki's palms started to itch.
His heart was pumping.
He felt his body tingle.
And his mind was yelling for him to get up and just run into Kyoya's arms. However, his actions spoke another story.
Kyoya looked up from the desk, locking eyes with Yuki, but he turned away fast. "Kyoya." someone said behind Kyoya. He turned to what turned out to be a female, a girl with dark red hair. She walked up with a smile and pulled him into a hug. Kyoya patted her back and pulled back.
Yuki felt his blood boil on the inside as flames of jealously pushed out of his nose. "Hey hey easy there." Kyo said tapping Yuki's hand. Yuki sighed, "I can't get mad can I?" he asked.
"No you can't." Kyo answered.
"I don't even know why I did this now, I did it to keep him safe." Yuki said. "He's from a powerful family, I think Kyoya would be fine." Kyo said. "You don't know his background." Yuki said shaking his head. Kyo remained quiet.
"Why'd you do that to Tohru?" Yuki asked.
Kyo looked up at him. With worry in his eyes.
"You know how she felt about you, even after she saw your true form." Yuki said. Kyo shook his head looking away. "Why?" Yuki asked.
"I could ask you the same question about Kyoya. He made you happy, for once, you were happy. Why sabotage it?" Kyo asked. Yuki paused and looked down at the table. "I did it to protect him." he said.
"From what? Akito?" Kyo questioned.
"Yes," Yuki looked back over to Kyoya, "If I know Kyoya as I think I do, he'd do anything and everything to protect me. Including getting himself hurt, I didn't wanna risk that." he explained. "How come?" Kyo asked. Yuki gulped, "I like him."
"You like him?" Kyo questioned with a raised eyebrow.
"What are you getting at?" Yuki questioned.
"You don't love him?" Kyo asked. "Do you love Ms. Honda?" Yuki questioned back.
"...fair enough." Kyo backed down.
Tamaki was in the closet room, trying to find something. "Dammit, where is it?" he said to himself. "What are you looking for?" Haruhi asked. "Trying to find that dress hat and...OH FOUND IT!" he jumped for joy making Haruhi roll her eyes.
Momiji opened his eyes lying on the lap of Honey. "You okay?" Honey asked in his cute voice. "Mm." Momiji rubbed his eyes, sitting up on his elbows looking Honey in the eyes. "Thanks for letting me stay with you." Momiji said. "No problem, you can stay as long as you like. Just don't eat anymore of my cake." Honey joked with a smile.
Momiji smiled too, "No promises."
AHHHHHHHH! The girls shouted loudly at Honey and Momiji's growing friendship. "Honey, Momiji, you two have cake on your faces." said Mori. He knelt and wiped the cake from Honey's cheek and then the cake from Momiji's chin.
AHHHHHH!
"Huh, looks like the girls are growing fond of Momiji and Honey." Haruhi said. "AH! Ideaaa!" Tamaki ran over and wrapped his arms around both little boys. "How would you like a spot in the Host Club?!" he asked. Momiji jumped for joy on Tamaki, "I'd love that! Can I eat all the cake I want?" he asked. "As long as you ask Honey first." Tamaki said holding the small boy on his hip like a son. Haruhi smiled from the corner.
"...Momiji." someone said from the front door, Kyo and Yuki moved aside for Hatori. Tamaki put Momiji down as Honey and Mori grew concerned. "I need to see Momiji, now!" Hatori barked. The room grew quiet as Momiji walked over to Hatori. Kyo followed them both out as Yuki walked up to Tamaki.
"Is he gonna be okay?" Tamaki asked.
"Yeah, Kyo will keep an eye," Yuki said, "Uh Tamaki, I saw someone with Kyoya earlier...is that.?" he started to ask. "The girl who took his V-card, mhmm. Red hair?" Tamaki confirmed. Yuki nodded. His stomach dropped. That was her?
"Is she?" he started to ask.
"I don't know Yuki." Tamaki said before moving away. "Tamaki!" Yuki called out. Tamaki stopped and turned around. "I...I..i did what I did...to protect Kyoya." Yuki said. Tamaki nodded, "I know you did. But are you willing to risk someone who made you happy because someone with angry issues says so?" he said.
"If I go against Akito, he'll hurt people...am I suppose to risk Kyoya's safety like that?" he questioned.
Tamaki chuckled a bit, "Don't underestimate Kyoya, he's tougher than he looks." he stated.
Hikaru came around the corner towards the cafeteria area when he saw Kagura peeking around the corner on the other side of the doors. He raised an eyebrow and then walked over, tapping her shoulder, "Waiting for someone?" he asked.
"OH!" Kagura jumped. "I'm sorry I was just looking around for Kyo Sohma." she explained.
"He eats in the back." Hikaru pointed out. Kagura paused, and nodded. "Um, you're Hikaru right?" she asked. He chuckled a bit, "Yeah, I'm Hikaru. I'm waiting on my brother to get out of class." he explained. Kagura nodded, "Um so um what year are you?" she asked. "First year." He stated.
"Thank you for befriending Yuki and Kyo, I actually thought Tohru would be their only friends outside of the house for awhile." she said. Hikaru gave a single nod, "Nothing wrong with that though." he said. "I know, but it's nice to see them...branch out." she explained. "Even with that Akito person running around?" he asked. Kagura gulped, "You know about him?" she asked.
"Yeah, I was at your family's house when everything blew up." Hikaru explained. Kagura sighed, "I'm sorry about Akito, he's protective of us all, but sometimes it can be...suffocating." she said.
"Heh," he shifted foot to foot, "I always thought I did that with my brother."
"Unless you physically hurt him or sabotage anything that makes you happy then you're not." she explained. He smiled a bit until someone behind him bumped him directly on Kagura. "UH!" she panicked by luckily Hikaru caught himself. So both his arms were on either side of her on the wall, just luckily he wasn't hugging her. "Sorry." he said backing off. "Do you-?" she questioned. Hikaru nodded slowly.
"How?" she questioned, her voice hardening. "Do you know Kyo's...uh..." she stopped. "Kyo's what? He just turns into the cat right?" he asked.
Kagura covered her mouth and shook her head side to side. "Yuki transformed in the club room. Haruhi bumped into him." Hikaru explained. Kagura looked into his eyes, "thank you. Thank you for keeping it a secret." she said. Hikaru nodded as he looked over his shoulder to Kaoru jogging up.
"I gotta go." he moved away to greet his brother.
"Hey." he said as he greeted his brother. Kagura looked down at her hands, they were shaking.
He made her nervous...
Back at home, Shigure and Tohru were in the kitchen cooking around when Yuki and Kyo walked in. "You're not burning up the kitchen are you?" Kyo asked. Tohru turned away for a moment to grab a tray. "Dinner's not quite ready yet, but I did make you guys some rice balls." she said with her sweet smile. Kyo felt his heart pump again. "Thanks Ms. Honda." Yuki smiled. Kyo reached over and stuff one in his mouth, he didn't say anything for a moment.
"Thanks..." he said. Tohru gulped and moved away. "You guys have a visitor." Shigure said pointing to Haru in the back.
Kyo and Yuki made their way to the back of the house to talk to Haru.
"What's up?" Kyo asked, until he was silenced with a punch from Haru. "AH!" he grunted holding his jaw. Yuki's eyes widen, "What in the world Haru?"
"What's wrong with you?! You damn idiot?!" Kyo barked.
"Not me, what's wrong with the both of you? Do you not know how dangerous it was for the both of you to get involved romantically with people in THIS FAMILY!" Haru barked. Yuki licked his lips while Kyo crossed his arms. "Do you not remember what happened with Ren and I!?" Haru barked. "What is this about?! Why do you care?!" Kyo barked. "Because I don't want the both of you to go through what I went through! Or Hatori!" Haru barked. Yuki rubbed his arm shaking his head while Kyo kept his eyes on Haru.
"Do you both care about those two that much?" Haru questioned.
Kyo sighed, "I do." he said. "You saw how Akito hit me, I still care for Tohru, I just don't want her hurt." he explained.
"I.." Yuki's voice trailed off, "I...I think I really like Kyoya...maybe even..." they both turned to Yuki. "I gave him up because I wanted to protect him from Akito, but the weeks now without him...I feel so empty." Yuki explained.
"This is torture." Kyo said, "I want her so bad, but I can't. Even with this curse debacle!" he barked. Haru grabbed Kyo by the shirt collar and shoved him on the wall. "Haru!" Yuki said trying to pull them apart.
"Kyo...are you really willing to do this?" He asked. Kyo stared Haru in the eyes, leaned closer, "Yes."
"What about you?" Haru turned to Yuki.
"I want him."
Haru let go of Kyo.
"Then go get them, and don't let them escape a second time."
