Chapter 9
After the sudden outburst of their new S-class mage, and the mysterious medical tools that had now been collected, to be placed away from the girl, everyone didn't know what to do or say to the mage. Mira had placed a blanket around the girl but she had not moved from her spot on the floor, as if it was where she was feeling safe. Although that wasn't the case, everyone could see the girl trembling and the fear she was admitting from herself.
Kane was pacing the floor trying to figure out who and why was sending these things to his sister, he knew there was some sort of hidden message with them, but his sister was currently not talking, she was in too much shock, another thing that hit him when the tools entered the guild. They may have been rusty but he could smell a large amount of blood on them. Gritting his teeth, he knew exactly who's blood it was, out of a sudden burst of anger he slammed his fist on a table breaking it in half. Everyone turned to him, "Kane…" was all Mira spoke, but she saw something in him that was different. Was this the anger both he and Lucy had been talking about when she first found out about wolf slayers.
"Damn it! What the hell is going on?" he turned to his sister who was looking back at him, her eye's those beautiful eye's she had, the same ones she inherited from their mother, held so much pain in them. He turned around and walked out of the guild punching a wall on the way out needing to let off some steam to calm down otherwise he would lash out and end up hurting someone within the guild.
Natsu on the other hand was trying to handle things a little differently, he had smelt the blood the same as Kane, he was angry, how had Lucy's blood ended up on a set of dangerous tools? Did she need surgery when she was younger? Had she been sick? He went and knelt down in front of Lucy, " Luce.. no one is going to hurt you ok? You have my word, but… you need to tell us what's going on"
Lucy bit her bottom lip and shook her head, she knew he was telling the truth, the whole guild protected one of their own if they was in danger, she had seen it happen on so many occasions, but … they couldn't help with this one, not when most of it was all in her mind. "Luce… plea-" "Stop pressuring her Natsu! Can't you see she's terrified?" Laxus voice boomed over him, as he came and knelt down next to Lucy and scooped her up into his strong arms, they all noticed on how she suddenly stopped shaking as if she felt safe in his arms.
"what are you doing with my Luce!" once them words left Natsu's mouth, Lucy's grip on Laxus tightened, closing her eye's shut tightly, "I'm not a pet… I'm no one's pet… I'm… " was all they heard until Laxus walked her out of the room up into the guilds infirmary.
Once up there, he laid her down on the bed, but it seemed like she didn't want to let go, "Lucy… you need to let me go…I can't put you on the bed properly if you don't…" she shook her head, "don't go… he'll come if you go…" he gave a sigh and looked around no one was inside the infirmary. He just sat on the bed and let her sit in his lap as he held her closely. "No one is going to get you. Not while I'm here… I promise…" he felt her breathing evenly and her arms drop limp a little bit, looking down her head was on his shoulder as she slept. He let out a deep breath he was holding. He had become extreamly worried and scared when the events downstairs had happened. His heart had broke when she had refused to let people near her at first until a few moments ago when he was able to hold her in the safety of his arms.
Looking over to the door, he saw Erza, as she walked in, "Master just told me about the package that she received the other day and it's contents, this is a very serious matter Laxus." He looked to the ex-quip mage and nodded, "don't you think I know that… them tools Scarlet… they was covered with her blood… it's very old but it's her blood alright, And last night Mira told me after she woke up from a nightmare she was clawing at her lips, but Blondie won't tell us… to be honest… if she's had such a horrible past where she's had to re-press the memories… then she may have no memories of what happened up until now."
Erza nodded and knelt down to Lucy, who was sleeping peacefully, "What she needs right now is us to help her threw whatever is going on inside her mind, if it's all mentally then we can only be understanding with that." He nodded agreeing with her, until he noticed something, "Scarlet her wrists…" Erza picked one up gently, she never noticed up until now because of one reason, Lucy always wore sweatbands. On her wrists going all the way around was what looked like restraint marks. From being held by metal cuffs, she looked to her own wrists, where she held some similar scars back from the tower of heavens.
They was similar but, Lucy's looked like she had been yanking at the restraint's, not just wearing them. Erza's eye's hardened, "I need to find Kane right now… Laxus you stay with Lucy" he nodded and was about to ask what she thought the marks was but she left the room too quickly.

Down in the Magnolia woods, near a small lake, Kane was sat down on a rock taking deep breaths, rocking himself slightly, he was holding something his hands, gripping it tight, but not enough to destroy it. His rage wasn't getting any better. An that's how Erza found him, "KANE!" He shot up from his seat, baring his fangs, and his eye's was blood red. "Stay away from me Erza… when us wolfs are like this we can't control it…"
"Kane.. Lucy's sleeping right now, calm down I'm not leaving you like this.. Mira would kill me if she found out I let you go destroying stuff." She spoke slowly taking a step forward but he let out of warning growl making her stand back slightly, yes she had gone up against two wolf slayers before but she hadn't meant too. "I said stay back! Why do you care? You tried to kill me once already as well as mine and silvers best friends! Our pack! OUR FAMILY! And now someone is out trying to hurt the only family I have left!" his ears began to change, getting more pointy, and his nose slowly turned black,
"I'm really sorry about that, I really am… I didn't know… I didn't know anything. Lucy never told me about wolf slayers, she was too scared to tell anyone especially after when you mentioned that Wolf hunters are still out there. I understand.. I know what it's like to lose loved ones and family. Fairy tail is our family now Kane, and your sister needs you calmer and not hurting anyone."
"Then why are you here! If you don't leave Lucy will never forgive me for hurting or even killing you!" he snapped, as his tail formed, "I'm here now because I want to know what happened to Lucy! So we can help her together! She has the same marks as me!" she let the armour drop and showed him her wrists, where her hand cuffs had been, "I was a child slave in a place called tower of heavens…. Our parents was killed and we was taken in young to be made slaves. I want to know why Lucy has worse marks than me! Why she's getting these items!"
"I DON'T KNOW! After mother died, I lost contact with Lucy! At the age of 11 she went missing for almost a year! Jude came and threatened our pack that if she wasn't found that he would notify wolf hunters on where we were. She returned after a year but she wasn't the same for a few months, she never came out of her room, and no one went in, the maids left her food outside the door. While she wrote letters to me saying she had been on a trip with a friend. WHAT FRIEND! THAT BASTARD HEARTFILIA NEVER LET HER OUT OF THE MANSION!"
He held up his hand and a small chain dangled from it, "our mother gave Lucy this before she passed away! It's been missing for 14 years! And has only just turned up now outside the guild, the chains broken and the pictures of our mother is missing from it, dirty and covered in her blood" he dropped to his knees, calming down, "I want to know what happened to my sister as much as you do… I wasn't there to protect her when she was 10… and if she doesn't tell me now.. I can't protect her. I don't want to lose her… she's my baby sister my little innocent sister… I never told her but she looks identical to mother…"
Erza was just stood there stunned, watching as the wolf traits on the boy disappeared and he knelt there punching the ground crying. So Kane didn't know what had happened to the stellar mage at all. She knew Lucy wasn't close to her father but to disappear for almost a year and return saying she was on a trip with a friend at the age of 11?
"Kane, I've only been to the heartfilia mansion twice, but I noticed it's not surrounded by any towns as Lucy told me that they owned most of the land, but… you've been there more times than me. Was there any places near where people lived"
His head shot up why hadn't he thought of that? "Well… there was a private boarding school and a local church…" Erza nodded and helped him up to his feet. "That's all the information I need, think your up to taking a trip to these places with me, Natsu and Gray?" Kane nodded, "Hell yeah." With that they headed back to the guild.

Master Makarov had been informed by Laxus that Lucy was now relaxing, he looked down at the note again that this mysterious person had sent his child. He was angry at the message, and knew something wasn't right, in all the time he has known the young girl she has shown everything but fear or in any indications that she had been tortured. He looked back to the items, "that's what these are… instruments of torture…. But why… and why to a young girl like Lucy…" he looked back at the note and to the signature,
WH… why would anyone sign a note saying WH? Until it hit him, Lucy had recently told everyone she was a Wolf slayer, and Erza's mission beforehand said that she worked with a Wolf Hunter. WH stood for, "Wolf Hunter!" he spoke as the door opened to Kane and Erza stood there, "w..what did you say old man?"
They looked to Kane who's face had paled slightly, "the initials on this note stands for Wolf Hunter. Unless… you know someone with them initials Kane." He spoke, as Kane sat down on the chair, "William Huges, is the only person that I know with them initials, but it could be either. Master, me and Erza request to go to the Heartfilia Estate to do an investigation there. Along with Natsu and Gray," he looked to them, "why is that my boy?"
"Well back when Lucy was 11, she went mission for a year, but I was too young to go looking for her especially with Wolf hunters around it was dangerous, so please… If It can help connect anything to this it will help." Spoke Kane, and Erza nodded, he could see the determination in them.
"Alright, your team will leave immediately, I will Explain to Lucy that Erza needed you all to go on a S-class mission and will have Laxus on her team as a guard." They nodded understanding and left the office.
Erza walked straight up to Natsu and Gray while Kane went to explain to Mira about the situation, she nodded understanding and gave him a passionate kiss to be safe on his travels. "Natsu, Gray meet me at the train station in 20 minutes, were being sent on an S-class mission." Natsu's ears perked up at that information, "But what about Luce?"
"Lucy is staying here, Kane is coming with us because we need the nose's of both a dragon and Wolf slayer, it's a tracking mission." Natsu was about to protest wanting to stay with Lucy but after feeling Erza's angry stare they left the guild to pack. Erza looked up to the infirmary, "Stay safe while we are gone Lucy… and stay strong.." With that she left to get her luggage ready.

There we go! New chapter of silver wolf slayer is up! What are they going to find at the Heartfilia estate? Who is the one that's out to get Lucy? And Will she ever explain her story to them?
