Time to see what she was called to the morgue for, I hope you enjoy my good friends.

"Captain, Squirrel Girl just arrived." Moss radioed Jim, who could be found standing in the city morgue, and he was nervous, and he needed Squirrel Girl.

"Good, bring her back." Jim said with a sigh, and a minute later, Moss and SG walked into the room.

"What's up, captain, I was surprised to see your message, after the comments I made at the press conference." SG said honestly, to which Jim sighed before answering.

"I was not happy by your comments, considering I do not answer to you," he said, which made SG open her mouth to speak up, but Jim raised his hand to stop her, "but I'm willing to put that aside for the moment, since Moss and I have quite a predicament right now." Jim said as he walked over to the table in the middle of the room, and pulled a sheet down, revealing officer Steve's body.

"That's sick," SG said as she felt her stomach churn slightly, "but why does Steve's corpse have you in predicament?" she asked the captain.

"The coroner performed an autopsy late last night, and his finding where troubling, and I asked him to keep the report secret, at least for now, until we can try and figure out what is going on." Jim said in a concerned tone.

"Alright, what's so troubling?" SG asked in a confused tone.

"The cause of death is a broken neck, but the time of death doesn't add up, according to the coroner, he died days before the massacre." Jim informed the heroine, and that made her gasp.

"That's impossible, I saw him a few days before the massacre, and he was just fine." SG informed the captain.

"I'm well aware of that, I as well was working with him days before the massacre, and something is just not adding up, how could he have died before the massacre?" Jim asked both SG and Moss.

"I don't know," SG answered honestly as she rubbed her chin in contemplation, "could someone else have assumed Steve's identity?" She asked Jim.

"That's impossible, I would have noticed, and there was no form of trickery." Jim said firmly, as he dismissed that theory.

"My ideas are just as good as yours, captain, since the three of us have no ideas at the moment." Moss said, and that caused SG and Jim to nod their heads in agreement.

"What's the move, amigo?" Pablo asked Carlos, the two gangs could be currently be found inside an abandoned house on the cities west side, far away from nosy cops.

"I'm glad you asked," Carlos said as he sent a text message, and a man in his early twenties entered the room, "this is Roach, our weapons supplier, and he is the one who will be arming us in our war against the police." Carlos said as he patted his weapons man on his back.

"Roach, why do they call you that?" Pablo asked the man.

"Because I always survive, despite many attempts, the police haven't killed me yet, it's always a game of cat and mouse, and so far, the mouse has won every round against the much larger oponent." Roach said with a big grin, which earned rolling eyes from Pablo.

"So Roach, what kind of weapons do you got?" the man asked the weapons man.

"Depends on what you are looking for, because I got everything from 9milimeter pistols, to M4 assault rifles, and more." Roach said smoothly, and Pablo's mouth watered at the sound of even bigger weapons.

"Do you have visual aids ?" he asked the weapon man, to which Roach smiled and pulled out a smart phone, and opened the photos, and began showing what weapons he had, and needless to say, Pablo was impressed.

"I'm very impressed, when can the weapons arrive, we want to wage this war on the LAPD as soon as possible." Pablo said honestly.

"The normal grade weapons can be here tomorrow, the bigger stuff will take a few days to arrive, more channels to go through, but trust me, with this kind of fire power, nobody will want to mess with us." Roach said as his smile grew even bigger.

"I'm very impressed, Roach," Pablo said as he patted the young weapons man on his back, "But I must know, how do you get access to such heavy artillery?" Pablo asked.

"This city is full of people willing to compromise their morales to make a quick buck, in reality, this city is one big open sewer." Roach said with a smile, and that caused Pablo and Carlos to nod their heads in agreement.

"To think the police call us the bad guys, when in reality that one officer killed my brothers," Pablo said angrily as he deeply missed his brother, "they might have won that battle, but the war has all has just begun." Pablo said.

"I agree, tomorrow the police captain and his lieutenant will be at a press conference to once again assure the city, that is when we strike, and take them both out, two birds, one stone." Carlos said with a smile as he thought about what would be happening tomorrow.

"We can't even get close to them due to all the security, how do we take them out?" Pablo asked Carlos, but it was Roach who answered.

"I've got a crossbow equipped with explosive bolts, and trust me, a crossbow is harder to trace than a bullet." Roach said with a sincere smile, and that made both gang leaders smile and leave the room, leaving Roach to prepare for the impending attack tomorrow.

"Check." he said in a dark whisper...

"Check" what could that possibly mean, please tell me in the comments what you think it means.
