Sam's P.O.V:
Will and i have been dating for about three months now and they've been the happiest three months of my life without a doubt. We've gone out on a lot of dates since our first and everything was just great.
I went with her to go and get her stitches removed at the hospital and i could see how scared she was whilst we were waiting and she had a vice like grip on my hands and i just held hers and kept talking to her about out date later that night which was when i took her to the movies in Port Angeles to see the new action movie. And when she was having them removed i had her talk to me about something and she ended up telling me how Jake had attempted to do the laundry again only to end up shrinking half of his shirts.
And when her stitches were removed she saw the look on my face as i watched her look at herself in the mirror and when we got to hers she gave me a stern talking to. So instead of apologising every time i saw them i had decided now that i would kiss the top of each one on her neck every time that i saw her. It always made her giggle and blush and i knew it made her feel like mine. And that's all that i wanted, i wanted for her to be mine and nobody else's.
So after two months that's what i did, i took her to the same spot where we had our first date and after we had a picnic and spent about an hour watching the stars i finally plucked up the courage to ask her. And i had a grin so bit i was afraid it would split my face when she said yes and we had a pretty good make out session following that answer.
She had been spending a lot more time at my house now as well, she normally came over after lunch once she had finished her college stuff for the day and spent the time with me in the afternoon before making us dinner to share just before my patrols in the evenings. Then during the week she went back home after dinner but on Friday and Saturday nights she would stay and tidy up after dinner and then we'd watch a movie or go out on a late date after my patrol. She always slept around on the weekends but we hadn't done anything yet, she didn't want to and i wasn't going to push her.
Everything had been good until about a week ago when we were walking back from the beach when we passed Leah and her cousin Emily and Leah gave Will the coldest, harshest glare i've ever seen a person give. That wasn't enough punishment for Will in Leah's mind though, because the next thing she did had me shaking and trying my hardest not to phase right then and there. She looked at the healing scars on Will's neck and looked at them like they were the most disgusting thing she had ever seen. That was when Will tucked herself into my side as tightly as she could before pushing her glasses up and moving her hair so that it covered the right side of her neck.
When we got home Will ended up crying because she had lost her best friend and i just held her and told her that if Leah couldn't be happy that she was happy, regardless of who she was with, then she wasn't a real friend of hers. She was still down after an hour and even though it was a Friday and i normally loved that she stayed with me i decided she needed to be at home. So despite wanting nothing more than to hold her until she felt better again but i knew she'd feel better with her brother.
So when Jacob opened the door to see his sister crying and me there he was confused and after explaining everything he thanked me for bringing her back and told me that he was glad i was there to look after his sister. I then saw Billy who motioned me inside and i sat with him smiling when i heard Will laugh at something stupid Jacob had said in an attempt to cheer her up.
"Sam, i need you to keep a close eye on Jared Cameron. He's near his time to phase i'm sure, according to Jake he's bulked up massively and he's started getting really angry at people and he's normally known for being quite mellow." He told me and i nodded.
So for the past week both Will and i have been trying to keep and eye on Jared but it's hard considering neither of us are in school with him anymore. So instead Will's been dropping Jacob and his friends off at school, spending the day with me doing her college stuff or just spending time with me and then picking the boys up again after school and heading home with them.
Today was the same until i got a call from Will telling me that Jared had just ran out of the school parking lot shaking like crazy and had taken off into the forest. I told her to drive straight to mine and that i'd like her to be there when i get back with Jared to help calm him down. She told me she'd be waiting and also that she wanted me to be careful and i couldn't help but grin at the fact that she was so concerned about me even though i was the one who turned into a wolf.
Once i was off the phone with her i went out into the woods and phased before waiting to hear Cameron.
That's when i heard his panicked voice shouting about how he must be dreaming or something of the same sort. I then saw where he was and began running until i accidentally thought too loud and he heard me. It made him quiet but now he was even more terrified than he was before he realised i was in his mind.
'Jared, i need you to stay still and just try and remain calm.' I thought to him in a calming manner as i began to catch his scent and realise that i was close.
He then began looking around him for the voice but i was glad when he didn't try and run away. 'Who are you? And where are you? And why can i hear you in my thoughts? Also WHY THE HELL AM I A GIANT DOG!' He shouted the last question and i wanted to laugh when i realised that he was reacting in the exact way i had apart from he seemed to be a little too shocked to try and move or run like i had.
I then reached a small clearing that he was in and he then turned and saw me and had wide eyes when he realised that i was a huge wolf. I must had scared him a little because he then laid on his stomach and buried his head in his paws and his thoughts became panicked and afraid that i was going to hurt him. So i decided to show him i wasn't a threat by gently nudging him with my nose and then stepping back before also laying on my stomach and facing him, showing him that i wasn't a threat to him.
He then looked up at me and began to ask questions again so i waited for him to go quiet before i decided to answer some of them.
'I'm Sam Uley and we're both wolves. The truth is that the legends about the spirit warriors that once protected out tribe are true, and now a new generation of spirit warriors is phasing.' I began to explain to him not giving him all the details since it would be easier for me to do that when he was human again. So for the moment i was just giving him enough information to keep him calm and help him understand. 'Right now i'm going to take you back to my place so that i can explain everything to you a little better okay?' I asked making sure i wasn't ordering him around since that would only scare him more.
He gave a nod of his head and began walking alongside me as we made our way through the forest making sure to stay away from the roads and the trails. I then began thinking about Will and i couldn't help but be happy at how understanding and supportive she was of everything that had to do with my phasing. I knew it wasn't just for me though and that she wanted to be well informed for when her brother phased and it made me admire her a lot knowing she was so caring of her brother unlike their older sisters she actually took care of her brother and father and didn't just run away.
'You care a lot about that girl, who is she?' I heard Jared ask and i realised that he had heard and seen everything that i had been thinking about Will. Guess i'm going to have to be careful about what i thought about whilst Jared was phased as well.
'Yeah, she means the world to me and it's Willow Black, you know Billy Black's daughter?' I asked and he nodded but was still confused. 'I'll explain it more when we're back, it's a long story. But this is also why i had to break up with Leah...' I trailed off and i saw that he suddenly understood why i had to do it and i felt his sympathy towards me. I made sure though that i didn't show anything that had occurred between me, Will and Leah though.
We then arrived outside my house and i could smell Will's brownies and smiled knowing she had probably baked them for Jared's sake and not mine. So i then told Jared to stay there whilst i phased back and he cringed when he realised that we phase back naked and i quickly threw on a pair of denim cut offs and turned to face him.
"Now to phase back you have to let go of any anger that you have and once your calm then you have to think about being a human, concentrate on it but don't try and force the thought too hard otherwise it won't work." I told him and he nodded and obviously began to do what i had told him. And after a few moments of waiting i noticed his wolf began to shrink and i turned around to go inside and grab him some shorts when i saw a pair waiting on the porch railing and i couldn't help but smile at the thought that Will did that. I then threw them at Jared who was now human and looking a little pale. "Come on inside, you can come here whenever you want within reason. I'm here most of the time and if i'm ever not then Will's normally here too. And she's alright with all of this too, she's pretty understanding." I told him with a smile as i led him into the kitchen to see Will sat at the table with her laptop.
She looked up at us and grinned when she saw me before giving a friendly smile to Jared who gave her a weak one in return. She then stood up and gave me a massive hug which i returned before kissing her scars and making her giggle and push me away playfully when she saw Jared looking away awkwardly. "Hi Jared, i'm Willow Black." She said whilst holding her hand out for him to shake which he did with another nervous smile. "Why don't you sit down, i made brownies for you two as well. Figured they'd go well with the long talk your about to have." She told us as she grabbed a plate of brownies from the kitchen counter and placed it on the table and gesturing for Jared to sit and take one.
I sat opposite him and took a brownie as he took one too and watched as Will sat back down at her laptop with a cup of hot chocolate and a smile as she watched Jared eat three brownies.
I then smiled when Jared blushed as his bad manners before turning to Will and giving her a questioning glance one he had looked at her scars. She gave him a sad smile and shook her head. "All in time, for now let Sam explain everything and it'll make sense. And don't worry if you end up eating like a pig whilst you're here, i'm used to it with Sam around." She said with a laugh as Jared chuckled and seemed to finally relax.
I finished my third brownie before looking at Jared who was waiting for me to explain everything. "As i told you we are the next generation of spirit warriors and we are meant to protect the tribe from the cold ones. And the fact that we've phased means that there are some nearby and the truth is that the Cullen family that moved to Forks a few months ago is a coven of vampires." I told him and watched as his body tensed and he seemed a mixture of angry and scared at the idea of them being so close. "But they're different to the others who once attacked our tribe. Instead of drinking humans they drink the blood of animals and the last time they were here they made a treaty with Chief Black that they won't ever hunt on our lands or bite any humans and if they do then we have permission to attack them. But for now we stick to the treaty and instead we focus on protecting our lands from any rogue vampires who might come through here and dispose of them if they do. That means that we'll have to patrol the lands borders but we can talk about that later when i've worked out a new system." I told him to which he nodded and took another brownie.
Will then reach forward and took a brownie for herself and winked at me with a grin when she did so which caused me to blush and chuckle, the things that girl could do to me. But i then looked back at Jared who was smirking at me, yeah i'll never hear the end of this.
"But now as you've noticed we have pretty bad tempers now so for a couple of days you'll have to stick around here so we can help you try and learn to control it so that you don't hurt anybody." I told him as i looked at Will and saw the scratches on her neck and i could feel my anger at myself for hurting her.
It was then that i felt one of her hands grab mine and give it a tight squeeze and i looked up to see her smiling at me before turning to Jared and continuing to speak for me so i could calm down. "But once you get to school you won't be able to hang out with your friends again because we don't want to put them at risk. And we're not saying that because we think you won't be able to control yourself," She was quick to reassure him. "But accidents can happen." She told him and i watched as his eyes widened with realisation about where her scars had come from and when he looked at me i just gave a quick nod to confirm his suspicions. "Oh and the best bit, you get to get a tattoo and you're going to be beta which means second in charge." She told him with a smile and he suddenly perked up and smiled.
I watched as she talked to Jared and got to know him a bit better and i couldn't help but think about how perfect she is. It's because of her that i think Jared was so calm and willing to listen to everything. She was a calming person not to mention a caring one so she was constantly making sure that he was okay and that i wasn't overwhelming him and i think it comforted him to know that somebody who wasn't like us didn't see us as monsters like most would. And when she explained how it was his responsibility to protect the tribe and the people i think he realised that this wasn't a bad thing.
The whole time i just grinned as i watched my imprint work her magic and i knew then that i was sick of her always having to go back home and that i wanted her to move in with me.
