Chapter Eleven

The Mission at Kannabi Bridge Part II

I followed Kakashi along the way there, thinking about what to say to Kakashi to change his mind. I could tell that he was feeling guilty, for the most part. However, what was I to do to change his mind? It was merely impossible . . . practically . . .

His shoulder was starting to hurt and I asked him, "Thinking about Rin? I know . . . you should feel bad . . . Don't you even remember what Minato-sensei said? How about your father? Obito? Don't you remember anything at all? I know that you're thinking about what Obito said. Those who break the rules a trash . . . Kakashi . . ."

"Sayaka . . . stop it please . . ." Kakashi murmured softly in guilt.

"Tell me, please, what you think really? Not what the rules, say, but you personally," I asked him.

"I . . . I . . ." he trailed off. "I believe that I should save Rin. Deep down. But . . . I should follow the rules . . ."

"Just telling you, but Rin likes you," I said out of the blue.

"I know that . . ." he replied, looking down towards the ground. "Know what? Let's go . . ."

"Then . . . let's go," I smiled, taking his hand as we rushed into the thick forest.

About fifteen minutes later, we saw Obito almost being sliced by the enemy's katana. However, Kakashi dashed out to protect Obito by slashing his sabre square in the chest. I kept my chakra concealed to watch far away. Another thing about this mission was that I was to not to much since the Hokage ordered strictly to allow Kakashi and his team some space to bond and so forth. I was to only intervene if absolutely necessary. That's another reason I didn't tell Minato . . . but I was pretty sure that he would know by now.

"Silver hair, and that blade with the white chakra light . . ." the foe muttered in complete shock. "Could you be the White Fang of Konoha?"

"This is a memento of my father," Kakashi said, showing his gleaming sword at the enemy.

"Kakashi, you . . ." I heard Obito mumble.

"I see, you're the White Fang's brat," the enemy smirked. "Then I have nothing to fear."

He then pointed two fingers up towards the sky as he disappeared into thin air. Probably invisibility. Hm . . . Kakashi . . . Obito . . . how are you going to handle this?

Both Obito and Kakashi were looking wearily around at their surroundings. Cautious of whatever could be before them.

"Obito! Behind you!" Kakashi suddenly yelled, warning his comrade.

Kakashi then took the wound himself and his left eye was cut. I was aghast, but knew that I should not yet intervene. Just . . . not yet . . .

"Kakashi!" Obito shouted as Kakashi clutched his eye, groaning.

"Don't cry just yet . . . I'm not dead," Kakashi pointed out as Obito started crying. "And don't tell me that you have something in your eyes again. Seriously, Obito . . ."

Just as the enemy was about to pierce Obito with his kunai, Obito placed his own kunai out. This time it was different. His eyes . . . He . . . opened his Sharingan.

"Obito . . . you," Kakashi trailed off.

"H-how d-did you know?" the enemy asked before he was to die. "Wh-what's with those eyes?!"

Before the enemy could say anything more . . . he died, falling.

"From here on out! I'm protecting my friends!" Obito shouted as he withdrew the kunai.

"Obito, your eyes!" Kakashi yelled, shocked.

"Yeah, looks like this is the Sharingan," Obito replied, looking down at his hands. I can see movements and flow of chakra. Are you alright, Kakashi?"

Kakashi clutched his eye as he took out Rin's medical pack, "I still have this from Rin. After some emergency treatment to my eye, we can hurry up and save Rin."

"Gotcha . . ." Obito beamed. "Say . . . where's Sayaka?"

"Good question. I actually have no idea," Kakashi replied, looking around.

"Yeah . . . weird . . . I thought I saw her with you a few minutes ago . . . You don't think . . ." Obito trailed off in suspense.

"No," Kakashi replied, cutting Obito's thoughts off. "There's no way that Sayaka is gone or kidnapped. No way."

"Okay, If you say so . . ." Obito responded. "Actually come to think of it . . . I think she's watching us from somewhere here. I can't exactly pinpoint it, but she's watching us."

"Probably direct orders from the Hokage," Kakashi replied solemnly as he applied the medicine to his eyes.

I looked on as Kakashi and Obito entered the cave in an epic way. Ha. Those two . . . but why do I still have a weird feeling . . . like . . . someone's going to die?

"You can't count on anyone these days . . ." the enemy murmured in disgust.

"Rin's chakra is going wild," Obito murmured. "Its movement is different from ours!"

I then amplified the sound with my kekkei genkai and listened intently.

"She's probably under a genjutsu," Kakashi replied seriously. "It's probably so they can draw information from her quickly."

"Looks like you're not just typical brats," the enemy said boldly.

All I could hear from then was the clashes of weapons. Wanting to save chakra, I didn't use my sight jutsu to watch the entire fight. After that, I heard a loud thud and some running. Most likely Kakashi and Obito running to save Rin.

"Release!" Kakashi shouted, releasing Rin from the genjutsu.

"Kakashi! Obito!" I heard Rin shout.

"We've come to save you, Rin! You're safe now!" Obito told her.

"Alright, I'll hurry up and untie you," Kakashi replied.

"I see. That was a nice combination, but you were just some typical brats after all," the enemy said, most likely getting up from crashing towards the ground. "I have you just where I want you now . . . Doton: Iwayado Kuzushi!"

A bunch of rocks and boulders came crashing down as Kakashi said, "Dang! Run towards the exit!"

I then decided to use my eye jutsu to see the entire thing. I suddenly jolted from my sitting position to see that Kakashi fell. Obito then grabbed him out of the way, and a gigantic boulder dropped down directly on Obito. I then ran inside as quickly as possible to only see half of Obito's body fine, but the other half was smashed.

"Are you okay, Rin, Kakashi?" I heard Obito say from under the boulder.

"Obito!" I shouted as I ran next to him.

Both Kakashi and Rin looked around to only see Obito's damaged figure on the ground.

"Obito!" Kakashi shouted.

Kakashi then tried to push the boulder away but of no avail.

"Stop . . . it's alright, Kakashi," Obito whispered, his blood splattered everywhere.

"Obito . . ." I whispered in shock. "Dang it . . . why didn't I learn earth jutsu when I had the chance!"

"Don't worry, Sayaka . . ." he smiled. "Kakashi . . . my right side has been completely crushed. I can't even feel it."

"Dang it!" Kakashi yelled in frustration.

Rin just stood there with tears in her eyes. She knew that Obito liked her, right? Rin . . .

"There's no way . . . Why?" she cried. "Obito!"

Kakashi then slammed his fist on the ground in defeat, "If . . . if I had just listened to you from the start, and went to go save Rin, this never would have happened! What kind of captain and jonin am I?!"

"That's right . . . I almost forgot . . ." Obito smiled, even though hurt. "I was the only one who didn't give you a present for becoming a jonin, Kakashi. I couldn't figure out what to get you, and I just thought of something . . . Don't worry, it's not gonna be some useless luggage or something like that . . . I'll give to you . . . this Sharingan of mine."

All of our eyes widened in shock, and we were stunned.

"Regardless of what the village may think of you, you really are a great jonin," Obito told Kakashi truthfully. "That is what I truly believe. Please accept this. Rin, use your medical ninjutsu to take out my Sharingan and transplant it into Kakashi's left eye."

Rin nodded her head saying, "Kakashi, come here. I'll begin immediately."

"I'll stay on guard outside," I replied shakily.

Everyone just nodded his or her heads glumly as the procedure began.

"I'm going to die . . . but I will become your eye in order to see the future," Obito said wisely.

"Kuso . . . I'm killing that guy out there right now," I growled angrily. "I'm outta here for now."

"I'm going with you," Kakashi replied.

I rushed outside with Kakashi as we saw the man standing right outside drinking some water.

"Stubborn ones, are you?" the man asked. "But in the end, you're still just a kid. Why is a shinobi crying? Come on, crybaby, it's time to end this."

Kakashi's face was full of hurt and anger as he opened his eyes, causing the enemy to be taken back a little of his eyes.

One was the Sharingan and the other was black.

"Leave this one to me, please, Sayaka . . ." Kakashi said as I let him be.

His then dashed towards the enemy with his sabra. By the time they made contact, the sword broke. Soon afterwards, I saw Kakashi use his chidori, with the help of his newly acquired Sharingan, with perfection.

"Kakashi, hurry up and get Rin out of here," Obito ordered Kakashi for the last time. "The enemy's reinforcements are coming."

"Obito . . ." Rin replied sadly.

"It's alright, just go . . ." Obito said as we left.

"Oh, and, Sayaka," Obito said. "Good bye."

We were then surrounded by more enemy shinobi.

"Let's take care of them, Kakashi," I said as we came at them at once.

"Rin, escape!" Kakashi ordered Rin. "You meant the world to him. He loved you, so go!"

"Just go . . ." he said for the last time.

Minato came for Kakashi soon afterwards and . . . the world came to stop there as we just stared at the stars.

The next morning, we destroyed the Kannabi Bridge. And that was the day that gave birth to two new Sharingan holders—Hatake Kakashi and Uchiha Obito.
