Damon POV

Me and the gang were having breakfast at the grill, when Klaus walked in with this chick. She was beautiful, very beautiful but I wonder why she was with HIM. She must be compelled. I looked around the table to see their reactions.

I especially looked at Caroline and I saw a flash of jealousy in her eyes. Hmmm interesting. They walked over to our table

"Hello" Klaus said with that damn smirk on his face. The girl smiled at him and he looked at her and dare I say he smiled back

"What the fuck" I heard Caroline whisper in awe.

The girl turned her face to us and smiled. I don't know what it was about her but her smile was so contagious, i couldn't help but smile back. Her smile widened and you could see her dimples. Awww she was so adorable...woah woah woah.

I am Damon Salvatore womanizer extraordinaire. I can charm any woman from a mile away. I do not think that women are cute.

"And who is this fine lady that you are with Klaus" I asked, looking at her up and down. I took her hand in mine and kissed her knuckles. I looked back up at her and introduced myself

"Damon Salvatore ma'am, it's a pleasure to meet you"

"Why hello fine gentlemen, it is a pleasure to meet you Clarabelle but you may call me Clara or Belle." She smiled shyly at me. I heard Klaus growl loudly at us or at least me.

She turned her head back to him and smiled reassuringly at him. I let go of her hand and she returned back to his side. he wrapped his arm around her and turned to glare at me.

She turned to look at the others and smiled at them

" Hello its nice to meet you, may we sit down"

"Sure" Stefan said. Klaus sat and then pulled Clara on his lap. He shoves his nose in the crook of her neck. I'm so confused and I could tell the others were to. I have never seen him act this way, not even when he was crushing on Caroline

I looked towards her at that thought and saw that she was glaring at Clara. I think Klaus saw her too because he sent a growl in her direction. Damn, he really protective of her.

The waitress chose this time to come take our order.

"Good morning, may I take your order? What would you like to eat this morning?" she asked us

She took our orders but the weird thing was that Klaus ordered for Clara and she didn't seem to mind one bit. In fact, she kissed his cheek when she did. The heck? Why is Klaus acting like this.

There was awkward silence at the table and Clara decided to break it

"So how do you guys know Klaus?" She asked us

We all looked at each other and contemplated whether we should say all the things he has done to us.

Klaus interrupted us, but not in a way I thought he would

"I did some bad things to them in the past, somethings that I would hate for you to find out, but I did them" Klaus interrupted. Clara looked and him and kissed his cheek and whispered reassuring words in his ear. Whoever this girl was, she must have been really important to him. To act like this, in front of us. I wonder why she is so important to him.

"So how do you know Klaus?" I asked interrupting their little moment. She smiled at me and said 4 words that shocked me to the core.

"I am his mate"

Mate? Mate? Well this is a whole new level of interesting.

I looked around to see that I was not the only one confused.

" Mate?!" I asked because the others were just siting there with there mouths open, frozen in shock.

"Yes, mate" Klaus says and then he kisses her cheek. he looks at her with utter love and adoration. I am so confused.

Out of all the things to happen in Mystic falls, this is by far the weirdest.

This is going to be a long breakfast I thought as I look back at Klaus and Clara.

Yep, defiantly a long breakfast.
